Meet Jimisha Elizabeth Molphus guys. She's four months old. Haven't done WATP yet but will in a minute. Working on water challenge. Will start a new one tomorrow. I have a thing for starting things on Monday, lol.

redballoon 01-29-2006 05:45 PM

Hi all. Starting out Monday here. Was going to go to the gym but decided not to. It would have been overdoing it anyhow as I got in a good workout yesterday evening. I may start another challenge today, but I'm not sure. I am thinking of doing another no-sugar one, but know I have a tendency to overeat then because I feel deprived. Will see, kind of a stealth challenge I think I'll do initially and see how it goes....

tia -- I as wondering when you'd get that adorable picture up of Jimisha. She is just such a darling! Hope you get through your challenges. And what is your new one going to be?

chai -- Great news, eh?! Only a half a pound to your mini goal. Rockin'!!!! :dancer: So, I'll be expecting you to be back on your 7 a.m. challenge any day now, right? ;)

stage -- As I fell asleep last night, I remembered that I had forgotten about you. Sorry! Where have you been? Well, glad to see you back with us! Good luck on your triple challenge! :goodluck:

jolly -- Yes, that's what pause days are for! You're almost through the caffeine challenge. :cp: I think your idea is a great one...think I'd need a lot more rewards than only one every four weeks, though! I'm wishing good things for you!

Tay -- Sorry, never heard about the milk thing. Sounds like something the dairy industry would hype. I am not into dairy, don't think it's good for most adults and I break out when I drink much more than a glassful of it. I never could stand it anyhow. There is so much junk fed the cows these days that it's no wonder people are getting allergies to it. I certainly wouldn't buy into the ads.

curly -- How did you possibly feel you were stuck when you have lost 30 friggin' pounds?!?!?! I am so jealous now!!

Tayja 01-29-2006 06:29 PM

red: yeah i'm not a big milk drinker either if i drink it its gotta be either in hot chocolate or chocolate milk... i thought it sounded pretty much like hype too but was curious...

Sushi Penguin 01-29-2006 06:53 PM

Just had a bunch of grapes, so fruit eating challenge is complete. :D
Will be back later to post my food.

I want to start a new exercise challenge, but I'm feeling totally unmotivated to exercise... :?:

aprildawn 01-29-2006 06:55 PM

I really admire all of you for making challenges. I could never make a challenge and carry it out. Thats why it took me so long to lose all this weight. I am a 100% procrastinator. LOL Every Saturday at Weight Watchers, I say I am going to drink my water and I never do. Darksecret59 told me about this thread so I thought I would come and take a look. WTG you people.

Red, Of course it is not easy and I totally hear the deprived issue, but perhaps there is a way to control it. How? multiple challenges, so you limit time or intake, and then take out the sugar, or limit sugar, rather than cut it out. ;)

Weekend is over, I am already in LA in my hotel room unable to let go of my beloved laptop...
On Saturday I was feeling somewhat sick, but towards the end of the day I got better. I was not sick to begin with, but felt as if my body was fighting a cold or a virus. Perhaps daily execise has made me stronger and more fit to fight all the bad bacteria....
A: Food (3-1) -Day 12 (Jan. 28) Done
B: H2O (3) - Day 13 (Jan. 28) Done
C: Gym (3-2) - Day 11 (Jan. 28) Did not work out was too tired for that. I need the last pause day for my day of return... I must work out on Monday! (more about this later)

A: Food (3-1) -Day 13 (Jan. 29) Done
B: H2O (3) - Day 14 (Jan. 29) Done
C: Gym (3-1) - Day 12 (Jan. 29) Worked out at the gym. Feeling better today.

Now about my travels.
It was a normal day. I did errands, had breakfast with a friend, worked out, laundry, packed, and got to the aiport to find that on our flight of 50 people 2/3rds of whom were a group of teenage girls. Boy were they loud at the gate, and inside the plane. I could not concentrate on anything... there.
Finally we landed. I picked up my mid size vehicle, nice car, figured out how to get to my Raddison and took off. Hotel only had valet parking, so after leaving the car I entered the lobby. Seriously it is just a nice hotel, everything is in marble and cultured stone, beautif huge entrance, bar, lounge, restoran downstairs and one upstairs at the pent house level. As I stood in line to check in. Some guy got behind me, his face seemed so familiar. I thought perhaps from my work.... So I asked him, "do I know you", and he goes "yeah, yeah, tv land"...and I said "oh oh news" and he goes I am an actor.... He was somewaht erritated, but even though he pronaunced his last name, I could not make it out, and I do know I've seen him in sitcoms and perhaps support roles...gosh I wish I'd known a name.
WEll I took a drive, pretty borring around LAX, I am tired now and ready to dose off, on this "sleep number bed by select comfort", kind of nice only business and up suites have it.
(BTW, workout center is 24/7, but the pool only till 10 :-( though I did find a few of 24 hour fitness gyms so if I want I can go there....
Allright till tomorrow guys.

moving along...

Hi, guys. Just finished writing my journal for the day and doing the crunches before I posted here. So, moving ahead on caffeine, journal, crunch challenges. Did not start any others today. I have been feeling soooo depressed, especially after seeing my old food journals and my weight and wondering how I gained a good 6 kgs in two years. That's like 13 lbs! Ugh. I disgust myself....with all the exercise I do, why do I pig out and ruin everything?!?! Well, I know why...because I'm an emotional eater and I'm not happy and that's just a habit that is very, very hard to break. Sigh. But, I think the journal is helping. Tonight, as I neared home I could feel my brain slipping toward EAT MODE... It was like it was programmed to do that. And I said, no, I'm not going to stock up at the convenience store. I'm just NOT, and I didn't. I AM hungry though and I think I really do need to follow some program or make my own menu so I can eat without feeling I'm overeating. Usually, when I'm paying attention, I'm undereating and then I will make up for it later because my body rebels. So, I'm thinking of making a menu and sticking to it for say a week a time with next-to-no transgressions. That may do the trick.

CBETA -- I know what lonely hotel rooms feel like and how you want to stick with your laptop. I never have one, but wish I did. Too bad about the actor, that he wasn't more friendly, but heck... "tv land" ...sounds a bit condescending. Hope you get a workout in. I know it's hard when you're traveling. Somehow it never feels like a workout to me when I travel and I don't get comfortable doing it. Oh well, more excuses.

JCT -- Yes, well, too bad about the exercise challenge. Don't you have any pause days? But good for you for sticking to your other two! You hang in there!

Tay -- :cp: Good for you! You're doing great! :sunny:

curly -- My, you are hard on yourself, keeping your challenge all in one! You probably needed the sleep. You'll kick A tomorrow! :strong:

tia -- How are you doing? Good going on the challenges and I think fitday will be good for you. Good luck! :goodluck:

Sushi -- I am NOT going to read your food. That is just too tempting!! ;) Good on eating fruit!

cowgirl -- Hi there! Glad you found us. Sure wish you would join up. I'm sure you could stick to a challenge if you kept it relatively easy at first. Come on! Give it a try. Or don't you have any more weight to lose? You say you "lost all this weight" so are you at goal? I

freaky -- Rockin' steady! :dancer: So, how was the corset? Fun?!

Shad 01-30-2006 06:29 AM

Hiya Red,
One thing about planning a menu for the week is that you can get all the bits in one stop at the supermarket and you don't have to shop for the rest of the week. You also save a bit of money that way especially if you make a list and stick to it.

Keep up the good work everybody. Does Sushi's menu = food porn. I rather think it does.

See ya.
