Weighty Issues #35

:welcome3: Welcome to the January edition of our Weighty Issues thread. We're a group of wonderful women from different walks of life, spread out from the east coast to the west Check us out here! . We support each other through the highs and lows of every day life--it's not just about weight loss, it's about LIFE. If you have something to say or need a shoulder to cry on, come on in, grab chair and stay awhile. You'll be glad you did.

angieME 01-01-2006 07:17 PM

Here is the poem I want to put on Tinky's urn when I get him back. It totally describes how this is affecting me.

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

CAL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! :gift: :woo: :hb:

I hope you feel better today and can enjoy it.

angieME 01-01-2006 07:29 PM

I figured I should start a new thread for the new month. Noelle, You will be so proud of me because I changed the month this time.

Red, Great job on the run. Your new years sounds fun. We just watched movies all night. but it was nice and cozy.

Kempy, I want a Dyson so bad!!! Now that you have told me how awesome they are than I will definately be getting one this summer. Did you guys have a fun night?

Dips, Did you get much time off from school for the holiday? How is that cute little puppy of yours? I would love to just snuggle him.

Deafinlysmart, You enjoy the snow now but you wont come April when it is still snowing out. We all like the first one before Christmas but once Christmas is gone than we all want the snow to go too. How long have you been up here? I will tell you a little about myself: I am a married mom to 3 kids ages 12,12 and 14. I am also a baker for a living. My husband and I have a donut shop at our house where we make wholesale donuts and pastries for the convenience stores in our area. I am a huge animal lover. I have 3 dogs and 5 cats now. My 6 cat just died this week from a urinary blockage that we didnt catch in time. I am heartbroken right now from it.

Who is coming back this week and on what days? Does anyone know off the top of their heads? I am missing everyone.

redballoon 01-01-2006 08:41 PM

angie, thanks for the new thread! And I'm recovered from my excesses on New Year's Eve but I was wondering why my neck and upper back hurt. Then realized it was from all the crazy moves I was doing! Sound like Dips! :lol3: Just wanted to say though that the number is wrong AND you have to please change the intro that says we are a bunch of people spread out over the U.S. "from the East Coast to the West." We got Noelle and me!! Sweet poem for Tinky! And cal! Happy Birthday! How are you feeling?

angieME 01-01-2006 09:15 PM

OOPS!! I cant change the number now. I wrote it down wrong. Noelle wrote the intro so you gotta blame her.

No problem. Once the old one is gone I won't get confused....

Noelle wrote it?! Must be a mainlander wannabe, eh?! ;)

On another point, as you can see from my mini-goal weight tracker, I set my Valentine's goal at 149 but now I'm thinking 7 or 8 lbs is too much till then. Whaddya think? I'd rather make it less and not feel like I've "failed." It's tough for me to lose, really tough...then again...if I could just stop eating so much....If you think I can do it I'll take you up on the dare. Dares often motivate me.

angieME 01-02-2006 10:31 AM

Red, The sad thing is that I wrote down the wrong number last month too!! I even wrote down the number this time so I wouldnt mess it up and guess what? I wrote down the number of the last thread so I could add 1 to it!! haha I am dizzy I guess.

I think you should write down a number that you are comfortable with. I wouldnt want you to feel like you failed if it didnt happen either. I wrote down 15 and I am not really sure I can do it but it was a nice round number so I figured that even if I get half the total than at least I have lost so I didnt fail, right? A loss is a loss and we should all be happy with what we can lose. That being said if you want me to dare you I will... ;)

redballoon 01-02-2006 03:19 PM

early start...

Good morning all. Things are quiet around here, aren't they? On my other thread too. It's strange how some times things are just going too fast to even begin to keep up and then other times it seems like days with little action. angie, thanks for your comment..and don't worry about the number. Actually it would never have even come to my attention. It was because things were slow that the posts were close together and I was confused and clicking on the wrong one.. Yes, the weight number. In pounds it didn't seem far away at all, but when I converted to kilograms, which is what I am used to and what my scale is, it seemed like an awful lot, especially because my scale just doesn't seem to budge...in other words, I don't budge. I seem to have a built-in gauge that keeps my weight the same. No matter how much I exercise, I seem to make up for it with the eating, and if I try to count calories I just feel like I'm starvingg...that coupled with the fact that things are so tough in my life, huge debts, no work. I just so wish there was some bright spot in my life, something to cheer me up, if even just a little bit.... :(

angieME 01-02-2006 04:16 PM

Hey Red, It is slow here huh? Where the heck is Julie? We havent heard from her in forever.

We can be your bright spot. I know you have helped me so much with the death of Tinky. It helped to have someone to talk to about it. I know some people that are like..."it is just a cat" but you all understand that that isnt true. You have been a great friend to me and I look forward to being the same to you.

melekalikimaka 01-02-2006 08:58 PM

Hey girls......it's 2006!!!

Hi there! I just got back today and wanted to say Hi!!!

Angie, again I'm so sorry about Tinky and totally agree with Red about you not feeling guilty. I'm sure you would've gotten him help sooner if you had known. You were a great mom to him and I know he is watching over you now. On a lighter note, I had to laugh about the thread #. Ok, ok, now I have a few weeks to come up with a new idea for our thread introduction for next time. Something that will include all of us floating on islands outside of the mainland US ;)

Red, glad you got the calendar in time for the New Year! I know I said I sent it off sooner but you know how crazy things get at this time of year :^: . Don't worry about the postage--it was nothing compared to what Dips paid to ship a small box to Hawaii! $17+

Dips! Thanks so much for the gifts--my gosh girl, you spent a fortune for express mail--you didn't have to do that! I appreciate it though, I'm gonna put that NY crystal on my desk at work, too cool! And to get some batteries... I went into the NY, NY casino and thought about you, like if I was wandering around in their facsimile of your neighborhood

Cal, Happy Belated birthday! Get well soon, you don't want to spend the rest of your school vacation sick.

Kempy, you're always welcome to use your new Dyson vacuum at my house. I've got lots of dust and dirt for ya  That is cool that you will be joining WW--it works great! Let me know if you need any tips or anything. ;) I'm good at finding low point foods that I can eat a lot of.

Julie, where are ya girl? Hope your New Year is starting off great!!!

Cherie, and you? How are you doing this New Year? Can't wait to hear about your ski trip adventures.

Did I miss anyone? ... be right back.

melekalikimaka 01-02-2006 09:03 PM

I'm baaaaaaacccccckkkkkkk :newyear: :hat: Whew, I swear I still have a headache from New Year's eve. That block party on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas was sooo fun! For $40 we got to see Cheap Trick, The Gin Blossoms (I don't know who they are) and the Spin Doctors. Plus! all kinds of spirits to get you in the spirit! :dizzy: I went from frozen margaritas to Jack Daniels and diet coke, to who knows what else...it didn't matter after the JD. I was hurting the next day. You should've seen all the cute cops too. I took a picture with one of the hunky ones and I swear, he looks like a freakin' action figure--really chiseled looking  I will try and post a pic tomorrow when I get them downloaded. I may be looking buzzed but he was so handsome. It was a blast! I SAY WE MUST GET TOGETHER IN VEGAS SOMETIME SOON. That would be crazy fun. I have to tell you guys that I don't gamble much (table games OR slot machines), but I love to shop and I know where all of the good area malls and outlets are. Vegas is just a fun town to see things, not just for gambling. And HEY! I think i did alright as far as the eating goes. I jumped on the scale as soon as I got home and it was actually lower than when I left so I'm crossing my fingers that by some miracle I may actually have lost weight this trip--and believe me, in Vegas, losing weight is HARD with all the all-you-can-eat buffets! I have to go to another doctors appt. tomorrow, plus my weigh-in at WW so I will let you know how it goes. :carrot:

Oh and Angie, congratulations on your loss last week! That is so wonderful! :high:

calnative 01-02-2006 10:00 PM

Noelle: Glad you are back safe and sound. Sounds like you had a great time. Alberto had to work New Year's Eve and didn't get home until 11:40pm. We stayed up until midnight and just blew kisses to each other; I was still coughing horribly and neither of us want him to get sick too.

Red: Yes, Ashley is my daughter. She just turned 8 in Oct.

Angie: I hope you're feeling better and not guilty anymore. I agree with what the others have said: you would've have gotten help sooner if you'd known. Tinky is still with you.

Dips: Thank you so much for the gift. I love it. I hope things are going well for you.

Kempy, Cherie, and Julie: Hope all is well with you.

I'm still not feeling well and I'm sooooo tired (especially from the coughing). I'll be back when I'm feeling better.

Take care everyone and stay safe and healthy.

Cal

I almost forgot; BIL has painted every room in the house except the master bedroom. It all looks terrific. He was even able to paint the walls in the stairway (it's 20 feet from the floor to the ceiling there). I'm not sure how he and hubby did it with the extension ladder, but it looks great. He told me today that next Friday or Saturday he is going to paint the master bedroom. It will be so wonderful to have all the rooms painted and to have them done by a professional (we only had to pay for the paint....$130 to paint every room in the house and the garage).

Cal

angieME 01-03-2006 10:38 AM

Good Morning ladies!! I am feeling pretty good today despite the water weight that my body is holding onto. I am pmsing so I guess my body wants to bloat up. Hopefully I can lose it and at least break even Saturday for my weigh in. I got in my workout already and I am making a nice spaghetti sauce for supper. YUM!

Noelle, I am glad you are back. We missed ya. Your New Years Eve sounds like you had so much fun. I cant wait to see the pics. You went with a bunch of your employees right? Good Luck at your docs today. And your weigh in as well. I am sure you will have a great loss!! Why? Because you ROCK!!!!

Cal, I hope you feel better soon. I cant wait to see pics of your house. Wanna send your BIL over my way. I need to repaint my livingroom and dining room.

angieME 01-03-2006 01:59 PM

HELLO :coach:
WHERE IS EVERYONE?

PhotogirlTX 01-03-2006 02:00 PM

Happy New Year everyone!!!! :-) I am back at work today, the girls are back at school... and the dog is back at home. :D I feel like I've been away forever, but all the holiday stuff is over with, and put away!

Angie.. I loved your poem. It was beautiful. (((((HUGS)))))) And WTG on the continued weight loss. I've been gaining... and it's stopping today. I am getting back on my healthy eating as of today, and so far, so good.

Noelle... hope you had a great trip! Sounds like you had a blast!

Red.... WTG on your run too!

Julie.. I hope all is well with you.....

Kempy... how was NOLA over the new year's?

Cal... it's your birthday? Happy Birthday.... I hope you had a great one!

Well.... like I said, I am back now. The ski trip was great... I got to spend time around Alan's boys, and it went fine. I would love to hear what they told their mom about me.. especially after New Year's Eve night... :D but we had a nice time. It didn't snow much while we were there, but it did finally give me something to ski on the last day, so I was happy. New Years Eve, I spent at Alan's, where he had a big party. It was nice, I had a lot of fun, but drank way too much wine.... I paid for it the next day.

Sunday.. I drove to TX and got the girls back.... Monday, I spend the day cleaning house and putting away the Christmas stuff. So.. today.... I am back on track!!!

Anyway.. I need to go revise my ticker.... and add the 10 pounds that I have gained since this fall.... and start working on getting it back off.....

I'll check back more later!

Cherie

melekalikimaka 01-03-2006 02:22 PM

Good morning ladies. I am heading to my docs appt., then to WW...I don't know if I am heading to the office today, maybe just to pick up the mail. I think I caught something on the airplane, some congestion and just feeling a little under the weather. But I am pretty sure I am down a pound or two--if I am, I will have made my first 10% goal @ WW.

Rick took Michael to work with him so he wouldn't have to work a full day. He's sick as well. I bought Michael some funny t-shirts in Vegas, one said "I do all my own stunts", which is fitting considering his climbing over the fence stunt. Anyway, gotta run for now, but I will be back later with my weigh-in report.

Hope to see more posts later!

melekalikimaka 01-03-2006 02:24 PM

Hi Cherie

Kempyd 01-03-2006 07:03 PM

Hey guys. Sorry I havn't posted in a few days. I sounds like we all had a great time on the 1st. The weather here was aweful. It was so foggy you couldn't see the house next door. Thankfully we were only staying the the subdivision. We set all of the remaining hurricane debris on fire. The city has never come to clean it up and we are all sick of looking at it so now it is a big pile of ash. As with the rest of us I was not feeling the greatest the next morning. I will see if I can post some of the pics. They really arn't that great due to the fog.

Noelle tomorrow is my big day and damned if I am not bloated from PMS. Well, I guess when I go back next week it will look relaly good when I drop those water weight lbs.

Cal I still can't get over the fact that you BIL doens't use a roller to paint. I would never do that. I am way to lazy. :D

I am going to see if I can post some of these pcis.

Ok. The firts one is from my work party here at the house. I told you guys that we all wore PJ's right? This is the pic that we have at the shop as our Christmas photo. Can you believe that is one of the puppies? What is crazy is she is one of the small ones. Her name is daisy and our neighbor has her. Isn't she just too cute? The pic with lots of people in it is to show you how foggy it was. My house is in the back ground and you can barely see it. We really weren't that far away either. Of course that is Joe and I. Man have I gained some weight. I can totally see it is my face. I think I am going to keep the on the fridge so next New Years I can see how far I have come. I hope you guys can see all of these.

redballoon 01-03-2006 07:22 PM

Hi all. Late for work here so I'll try to post later. Thanks for the pix Kempyd. You may have gained weight (you say) but you still look great! Noelle, angie, cal, cherie, hello! I have a lot of aches today, including a couple bumps on my head after falling off my horse yesterday when everyone was out riding drunk and bareback (including me) at the club party. I put my helmet on later...something wrong there with the order of things. :lol3: but guess I'm lucky I didn't get even more brain damaged then I obviously already am. My horse spooked and ran off and I hit the gate on the way down....oh well, more later. Ciao! Dips, where are you? jbbm?

melekalikimaka 01-03-2006 10:04 PM

Hi again. Well, I have some good news and not so good news. The good news is that #1) I did lose 1.6 lbs during (and despite) my trip to Vegas :carrot:; 2) I did make my first 10% goal @ WW and received my 10% keychain (I am doing the happy dance); and 3) The scale at my doctor's office was only 1 lb higher than the WW scale.

The not so good news is word from my dr. She ordered more tests which I have to see another specialist for next Thursday. *sigh* the joys of being a woman. Overall though, mostly good things today.

Kempy, Daisy the pup is so big already. Hey girl, you still look great in your pics, I really love your house too, it's beautiful. Hope you get your beautiful LA weather back soon. Good luck on WW, I think you'll be amazed at how easy it really is.

Red, riding bareback w/out a helmet? Fully clothed or like Lady Godiva? Sorry you had a spill but at least you had some anesthetic in your veins ;) Your work group sounds like a crazy fun bunch. Be careful out there.

Gotta scoot for now. Chat more later.

redballoon 01-03-2006 10:41 PM

mele, sounds great with the weight loss. And oh, I do want to see those pics of the ripped cop! Hope your tests are okay. Yes, I was fully clothed. It's freezing here! Well, I'd always be fully clothed....and that's not my work bunch. It was the riding club new year party...pounding mochi rice cakes outside, then inside them eating and downing sake, (me) amounts of beer shochu (like vodka) and beer (me) in ridiculous amounts (oh, god, makes me ill to think about it now)...but, yes, it was fun. The owner of the place is normally totally silent and scary but when he drinks he becomes a lot of fun. The reins broke when he felt off but he gave me a new pair, which means about a hundred buck save for me. I had needed new ones anyhow because my horse is always chewing them, so her breaking them may have been planned. ;) Great of the owner to give me a present of a new pair though.

PhotogirlTX 01-04-2006 08:57 AM

Good Morning everyone! :-) Day one back on track went well. I stayed within my calories and even did 20 minutes of walking. This morning isn't starting out so great, I left my breakfast at home, so I will be famished by lunch. I guess it will just give me more calories to eat tonight.

Noelle... WTG on the weight loss... that is great that you still lost weight on vacation... I don't think I have ever done that! 10%??? AWESOME! Keep us posted about the medical issues.... I hope it turns out to be nothing.

Red.... Thank goodness you are OK... falling off a horse?? That would have scared me something awful.... but nice on getting the new reins! My daughter wants to grow up and be a horse trainer.... she has only ridden one once.. I need to find a place to take her horse back riding.. I think she would be in heaven.

Kempy.... pictures were great! You still look great! And Daisy? How cute is she!! But she is almost bigger than the girl holding her!

Today, I'll be busy with end of the month/end of the year payroll stuff...... I will try to check back in later..... but don't hold your breath! :D

Talk to you all soon!

Cherie

Kempyd 01-04-2006 01:22 PM

Holy Crap!!!!! I weight so much now. I guess I was in deniel about the scale and the numbers it was telling me. Thankfully I am trying to do something about it. I think this will be easy but it will take me a few days to get the hang of it. Joe is all for both of us doing this so that should make it easier. I am hoping to do well in this so I can get my sister involved. She really does need to lose a few lbs. I am worried about her health.

Thanks for the complements but I am the biggest that I have ever been and notice that the shirt is not tucked in or tight. I can camoflouge with the best of them.

Noelle I have been to Vegas and you did great by losing. I think all we did was eat and drink the whole time we were there. We like Black Jack too so were were sitting most of the time. Do you weight yourself at home too or just at the meetings? I am wondering if I need to hide the scale here.

I hope the Julie is ok. It really isn't like her to not post. Does anyone have her number? Maybe we should give her a call.

Angie how are you my shrinking friend? I am thinking about you today. I have the windows and doors open and I am enjoying the wamr weather for ya. It is all going to change by the morning though. Our high on Friday is 52. That is kind of cold for us. That must be summer weather for you.

melekalikimaka 01-04-2006 03:08 PM

Hey ladies, how's your hump day going? I got some pictures downloaded and I'm trying to resize them to post them here. I always have a hard time with it...

Anyway, Kempy, congratulations on making that first step! :cp: That isn't always easy, but seeing that first weigh-in number opens the eyes, eh? I know you'll do well on it. I weigh myself at home, although my home scale is a couple of pounds heavier than the one at the center. I just use it as a guide and remember the base number from my first weigh-in on it. I am a daily weigher--always was, always will be, I guess. I remember Julie saying that she may be visiting her dad up north over New Years so maybe she's still there? I will look up her phone #...

Julie, if you're reading this we miss ya! Hope your New year is starting off with a GOOD kind of bang. :)

Cherie, yuck, I hate year end/month end payroll paperwork. Hope it goes smoothly. Sorry you forgot your breakfast today, but good job on staying on track your first day :bravo: Have you taken back up with the training for your marathon?

Angie, what're you up to today girl? We're supposed to get up to 79 today :sunny:

Hmmm, let me see if the pics will come up. Nope, keep getting a "page not available" message. Let me tool around some more. Be back later.

melekalikimaka 01-04-2006 05:27 PM

I couldn't get my pics to upload so I just put them in a Snapfish album. I sent you guys an email separately though since I didn't want to post the link here. Let me know if you got the email :)

Red, if you PM me your email address I can send you the link as well.

angieME 01-05-2006 09:10 AM

I am so pissed right now! I am up 2 pounds this week! I havent done anything wrong but for some reason I have gained 2 pounds and the scale wont budge all week! I could see a stay the same week but a gain!

Cherie, I am glad you had fun on your trip. I cant wait until I can take one. We are leaning towards a cruise next year. The kids all want to take one and there is a Celebrity Cruise ship that leaves from New Jersey. We would save alot of time driving that way.

Kempy, I love the pics. You look great to me. Just think...it could be worse, you could be as big as me  Echo and Rhea must love having Daisy live nearby. They must get to play all the time huh?

Red, I am glad you didnt get seriously hurt falling off your horse. I think horses are so pretty but I am afraid they will step on me. I have been attacked by a deer once in a petting zoo so it could happen.

Noelle, You Rock with the weightloss!! I hope everything works out at the docs. I loved the pics. You all looked like you were having a blast. Is Kalua that guys real name or just a nickname?

Well, I suppose I should go exercise now.

melekalikimaka 01-05-2006 09:46 AM

Good morning. It's 4:36 a.m. but I had to hop on and see if anyone had posted... Well, my knee doc said my meniscus is not torn (thank God) but my knee cap is the problem. Apparently when I fell, it got jammed up into my thigh bone. Since then, it's been wearing the wrong way and throwing off the entire way I walk. So the ligaments and tendons around it are inflammed and the kneecap is getting worn on one side. I have to go to therapy 3X a week for a month. That's a plus for sure though, it's better than needing surgery! Afterwards I can get back to my normal walking routine I hope.

Angie, 2 words-- "water retention". You mentioned PMS right? Just keep doing what you're doing, but, and I swear by this! Drink more water. It's that simple. Don't get discouraged. Hey, do you happen to watch Live with Regis and Kelly? THey are filming aboard the Pride of America cruise ship which is making her inaugural voyage from Miami to HI. That ship is making it's home port here. It's kind of neat to watch it make it's progress. From Miami, thru the Panama Canal, towards San Francisco then on to Hawaii.

Red, I sent you the link for the pics. :)

Kempy, how was your first day on WW?

Julie, you better get on here and say something girl...I'm starting to worry about you! :o:

Hi Cherie, Dips and everyone. I'm going back to bed while I still can. Be back later.

PhotogirlTX 01-05-2006 10:14 AM

Good Morning everyone! Still here working on payroll crap. :D

Noelle.. I got your email.. I will have to go and take a look at the pictures later.. and that is good news about your knee. I hope the PT can help it quickly and you can get back to your walking!

Julie... hon, where are you??? You are missed! I hope everything is ok for you and your family!!

Angie... the cruise was OK.. I think going as a family might be fun... you kids would enjoy it! And I second Noelle's comment... water retention... just keep plugging away.. you are doing great!

Kempy.... now that you have started WW, you have only one place to go.. DOWN!!! :-) You can do it!

Red... how are things going? Recovering from your spill?

Well.. last night the girls and I went to a Rose Bowl party at Alan's. Several people came over, and I got Hannah to sell 24 boxes of her girl scout cookies! She did great! I was so excited that Texas won.... It was a great game, down to the last seconds.

Today.. just plan on working...I've got a catch in my shoulder (got it sometime yesterday afternoon) that is giving me a few problems.. but I hope it works itself out soon.

BACK to work here... :-((

Talk to you guys later....

Cherie

angieME 01-05-2006 11:10 AM

Noelle, I am so happy that you dont need knee surgery. My FIL had to have that done a few years ago and he was laid up forever. What are you going to be able to do for exercise from now until you get better?

Cherie, You didnt like the cruise that much? I want to take it because it stops in Charleston SC first and Jay wants to go see all the plantation houses and architecture of the old buildings. then it is on to the bahamas so it would be more sightseeing than we ususally can fit in. I think so anyways. When you took your cruise what things werent covered under the expense? I cant seem to really find that info anywhere. The hard part for me would be putting Rebel in a kennel. I am so afraid he would be scared and try to bite someone.

Julie, Come out, come out wherever you are! We are all starting to get really worried about you. You have never been gone for this long.

PhotogirlTX 01-05-2006 12:58 PM

Well, Angie.. I cruised with Norweigian.... and it seemed they nickled and dimed us on everything. You had to pay for sodas, for drinks (very expensive) for the finer dining restaurants, any extracuricula activities link bingo, and exercise classes, and then there was the over priced spa treatments if you wanted those. Plus, any alchol you bought in the duty free shop, they wouldn't let you have until the last night of the cruise.. so you couldn't mix your own.. and if you bought any off shore.. you had to turn it in.. which was a crock of poo....

However, it was a nice experience.... the regular dining areas were free, as were milk, juice, coffee and water.. unless you wanted bottled water. They had some cool entertainment shows that were free, and there were a lot of on board activities that were free as well. You got to dress up several times and you could purchase pictures that they took of you. You could get online, but that cost too. There was the casino, which was fun, but of course, you had to have money. And anything you did off shore cost. I don't know what Celebrity cruises do.. but if I every had to do another one.. I would probably go to Royal Carribbien.. I have heard good things about them. Oh.. don't go through hurricane season either :D

I am glad I have done one... it was a good experience.... I had more fun just being with Alan.. we had a lot of alone/together time on the boat... so that was very nice.

I just deleted a link to a cruise line opinions.. I will see if I can find it. Here you go... http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/...CruiseLineID=9

If you know what ship you are looking for you might get some more info out of this.... it was right on for the Norwiegian Sun, the boat we took.

Hope this helps!

Hi all. Sorry, no time to post. I've taken on another burden in the shape of a stray cat, well, a severely neglected cat, who has now lost an eye because of it...makes me so angry, the way people turn away from animals. She is at the vet now but I will have to bring her home and try to find room for a cage in my tiny place, try to get her well even though the one eye is not savable due to a horrible infection....well, that's my reason for the quiet, and I have two deadlines now upon me. It always pours when it rains.... Take care all! Noelle, thanks for the pics. They will help cheer me up and remember that there are blues skies and smooth sailing out there. I just have to be patient. Ciao all.

Good evening guys. I had a late client today so I got home late. So far the WW is going ok. One of my friends here is doing it too and has been for a good while. She helped me get a grocery list together. That is the only complaint I have about the program, they really didn't tell me about how to shop. I mean, you get these books and they are filled with list but you kind of freak out and don't want to mess up so you don't want to eat anything. I don't know if it was like that for you Noelle but I just got a little overwhelmed. I am happy thought b/c I can still eat sushi. :D

Red you are such a great person for helping that cat. I hate the way people treat animals too. They wonder why animals attack people after they treat them badly. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Angie Joe and I are going on a cruise in April. We are going out of Tampa on Carnival. As far as I know they don't nickle and dime you. Our neighors are going with us and they are pros so they know the right lines to sail on. Don't worry about the gain. You are doing so great it will fall off too.

Cherie mmmmmm GS cookies. I love those things. We have a little girl in the subdivision that will go door to door and damned if I don't buy 5 boxes. I alwasy think it is a good idea at the time but when I get them in I change my mind.

I need to get some dinner but i will check back later.

Hi Girls, I hope you all are not mad at me that I have not posted, sorry! I missed you girls. I guess my excuse is I have not been myself, maybe in a little funk? Not depressed but maybe the weather? After all the sun has not been out in over 2 weeks!! You are all doing so GREAT losing and sadly I have gained about 10 pounds since the beginning of December!! Anyway time to stop my whining and get off my butt and excercise to not only lose weight but to just feel that good old healthy feeling! We had a wonderful New Year. Lots of seafood and champange. The dog is doing great. I think I told you all the we are going to be sharing her with my FIL. He wanted to get a hunting buddy this spring and since he is getting up there in age we are going to give it a try sharing her. In fact dh is dropping her off there tomorrow before work so he can take her to the bird game farm. I am going to miss my baby when she is not here but I know she will love the excercise. I hope it works out. I think it will, because during the day I am gone alot now helping out at ds's school and dd is going to be starting preschool classes this semester so she will not be alone when I am not here, she is a big baby and a lap dog, can you believe that for a lab? Haha. Well enough about me!

It sounds like everyone is doing pretty good. I am sorry I worried everyone. I love ya girls! You are all the best! I am going to go back and read to see what I have missed.

Hey Julie! Welcome back!!! I know that exact funk that you are talking about... it kept me from coming here too.... I hated it... and you are not alone on gaining weight... I gained those same 10 pounds too..... (((((((HUGS)))))))) we can get back on track and feel better!

I'm happy to hear the new baby has fit right in with your family! That is great! Mine keeps getting bigger and bigger.. but she is really starting to be part of our little family too.

Kempy.. good luck with WW.... I was watching a show last night on TLC I think, and they kept advertizing NutriSystems.. and I kept thinking.. that would be so much easier.. just have the prepackaged food and go by the menu.. then I wouldn't have to shop and decided and try to figure out all my calories..... thinking about it... but it's so expensive.

Red.... you are such a saint. That poor little kitty.. you have such an enormous heart... she was very lucky you found her.

Well girls.. I am so glad it's Friday. I've been busy.. and will have to take work home this weekend too.. but it's OK.... better than not having a job right? Girls and I are going to get our hair cut tomorrow and then go see a movie and have lunch.. maybe not in that order! I still haven't seen the Harry Potter movie... and they saw Narnia while they were in TX... so I think I'll go see Harry with them. Hopefully it's not too scary.

I need to get back to work.. I'm on hold right now with my payroll provider... so I need to make sure I have all my stuff ready for when they answer! I'll Check back later!

Cherie

Hey girls! I have been grocery shopping all day today so that is why I am late.

Red, You are so sweet! I am glad the kitty found you. She is so lucky. I hope she is okay. Give her(and you) a great big hug from me. I found a Ragdoll cat on Petfinder and I applied to adopt him. (I have always wanted one but I have always had cats in need find me) Anywho, The cat rescue I guess turned me down because I have 2 cats that go outside when they want to. The thing that bugs me is that I would be a great home for him and they were disrespectful about it like I was an idiot or something. They told me he has already been adopted but yet he is still listed as of just now. I could have lied to them but instead I was truthful and they treated me like dirt. I hope when he does get a home the people who adopt him dont just lie on the application because they know to do it.

Cherie, Thanks for the link about the cruises. I liked reading all the opinions about the cruises. How big is your pup now?

Julie, I am glad to hear you are safe. You had us worried girl!!

Kempyd 01-06-2006 07:42 PM

Hey guys. Well, I have made it through almost 3 days of WW and so far so good. It seems to be pretty easy but I still had a hard time at the store trying to think of things to buy. I ended up buying a few of the Smart Ones meals so I really don't have to think about lunch next week.

Angie that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Why is it such a big deal if you have cats that go out? Do they think they people only have indoor cats? I know Spart goes out whenever he wants. Did you buy anything ood at the store today? How was the scale this morning?

Cherie I checked out Nutrisystem too but it is around $300 a month and I just don't have that kind of money. It would be great though not having to ever cook or go to the store. The only problem is Joe and I would both have to be on it to make the no store thing work. I guess if you NEVER have any food in the house you will lose weight.

Julie it is so good to see you back. I think winter has alot to do with the moods. I have been ok this year but I really hasn't been cold and the sun has been out. I try to sit in it for at least 10 mins a day at work so I will feel better.

jbbm 01-06-2006 09:23 PM

Hi Girls

Kempy great job the last three days. I wanted to say you and Joe make such a nice couple, good pictures. And the puppy is adorable. So big already. I agree about winter and moods....the weather man said the sun has not been out here since December 21-YIKES! LOL!

Angie, I bet you got some great healthy things at the grocery store. I have to get there this weekend and stock up on some good healthy food for next week. I got your e-mail about your kitty, I am so sorry. He was lucky to have a great mom like you!

Cherie your Saturday sounds like it is going to be fun, can I come along? Lets get those ten pounds off girl! Last year at this time I was twenty pounds lighter and at my goal! Oh well the good thing about that is I was there and I know I can get there again. You know once I get into the swing of healthy eating and excercise I stick with it. I just have to stay at it awhile and not get frusterated with myself.

Dips I wanted to Thank You for the Christmas gift. You are awesome! How is the pup? And everything else?

Noelle how are you? I miss chatting with you. OUCH about your knee, that sounds terribly painful. But you are right....I am glad you don't need surgery. My Mil had knee surgery last Sept. and she is still in pain. She regrets having it done. She has a total replacement though. Cool about Regis and Kelly, I will have to tune in when I get time to watch! What a trip that is.

Hi Red!

And hello to anyone else I missed. We may go bowling this weekend. We took the kids a couple of times over Christmas break and it was a blast. I had not done it about 10-15 years but it was fun. I probally looked like the biggest dork but I don't care, haha. Other than that just shopping and making a healthy menu for suppers this week. Have a wonderful weekend!
