Nice run down Shad and thank you for the introductions. A sticky "sticks" with the forum so they could post a sticky that would stay at the top of the Support Forum no matter how many times we changed homes.

Argh, DH is working on his training modules, not sure if it's him or the Internet that's slow but I'm not about to lose a long post so I'll try back later.

Welcome Lisa -- caught the news today and it seems like there's some lousy weather headed your way. Take care and tread carefully. Hope it's not ice tho this mass of pink is headed east (on the weather channel pink means large clouds of slippery frozen precipitation). And a big howdy to the returning faces of the world.

Default Well said, Shad!

Very entertaining summary. Next time you come to Toronto we will have to go for that drink... I know this really cool Irish pub - where we would drink soda water and eat celery, of course.

Happy, a friend of mine who is a Tech Writer always says "Good writers compose, great writers steal outright". And it's a dog's life writing manuals. I've been working on one for the last 5 hours and I'm now cross-eyed... and a bit punchy.

Mel, you still make me laugh. I really missed you.

Painter, I think they have redone the alerts and you only get _one_ the first time someone posts after you come visit the site. Visit = email, but only 1 email.

'Night guys! I am knackered...too many hours of writing reference material in teeny weeny print for an application guide. What was I thinking moonlighting 2 weeks before Xmas?

And geez, never forget the cattle prod!

Just a plea to all of you out there who are driving - please take it easy and carefully. There are so many things that can and do go wrong in a split second. Tonight I witnessed an accident in which a man was killed. The nightmare will live with me for quite a while. His family will live with it forever. So whatever you do, just take that little bit of extra time to look both ways if you are crossing the road, or check that there really is nothing coming or that you have the room to make that turn.

Be careful out there.

Glad you liked the intro's Madcat. It's funny writing something like that. Apart from Teel and Happy, I know only what most people here look like from a 2d photo and by voice with a couple of others. All that I really know about them is what I have learnt and listened and read here on the threads. Yet I feel that I could pick them blindfolded simply by reading the words they write and how they write it.

Okay, it's early but I am off to bed. I've had enough of today.

Shad, sorry that you had to witness such a tragedy. When I think about it, I am surprised that there are not more frequent serious crashes out there. People have just lost respect for the rules of the road - and they are there for a very good reason. One of those moments too in which you realize the effect of life altering moments and how precious life really is. Thanks for the reminder.

Madcat - although I have written my fair share of documentation over the years, my user manual comment was written tongue in cheek. Through Shad and yourself I have come to understand that writing them in no walk in the park. However, I will never forget the day you were at wit's end on one job and started spewing off how you would someday write a manual for the truly incompentent - had me in a fit of giggles for days on end. And I was serious about paying money for it

Linus - hope all works out for Craig. Shows you just how fine a line there is under the definition of assault. Better she got gum than a slap. I have learned I can't even toss a small wad of crumpled paper at my staff just funning around lest I be accused too. Maybe that's why managers are crabby - it's our only defense that we can't be prosecuted for

Raven - near as I can tell, you're about an 8 hour drive from me. Trouble is, I don't drive the highways / expressways so meeting half way would be kind of tough. However, I am open to suggestions as I think we'd have a rousing good time together. 300 horses to sustain yourself? Just out of curiosity, how often do you do a trim on a horse? I have visions of you working 20 hour days, 7 days a week just to keep up!

I am sitting here and at a loss for something amusing and witty to say. Guess that means it's time to pop in the shower. I have a doctor's appointment this morning with my regular doctor. I can't believe 2 weeks have passed. I am not down 4 pounds as was ordered I must say that I really did try on the food - both in portion sizes AND choices, did so-so on the water and nix on the exercise tho my knee is finally easing up the last few days. Yesterday I just wasn't hungry and ate very light although supper consisted on nibbling, mostly on some cheesy bits for some protein. Not too brilliant Happy to eat salt the day before a weigh in.

Guess I'd better get on with it. Have a good one everybody.

To sticky or not to sticky....hmmmm
How about making Friends Around The World a sub-group like Christian Encouragers? It would also be helpful if the trhead got closed and restarted once in a while as it sure gets long and "view last post" doesn't work all that well. Maybe weekly? Think about ti.
I have a really busy day coming up (once I thaw out!) but will check back later. I also will ask Suzanne's permission as she is MOD for this Support Group Forum.

Great bios by Shad. We could probably make that into a sticky in the new subgroup and edit in now info as needed.

JUST FOUND THIS RECIPE THERE. SO I BROUGHT IT BACK HERE.

TODAY'S RECIPE IS:

Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Three Bell Peppers

This recipe serves: 4

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes

Ingredients
1 small red bell pepper, seeded and sliced into thin strips
1 small green bell pepper, seeded and sliced into thin strips
1 small yellow bell pepper, seeded and sliced into thin strips
1 shallot, diced
2 teaspoons olive oil
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 4 to 6 ounces each
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup white balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup chicken stock

Cooking Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix the bell pepper strips and diced shallot together.

2. Heat 2 teaspoons olive oil in a skillet over a medium-high heat. Cook the bell pepper mixture until tender, about 4 to 5 minutes.

3. Cut a deep horizontal pocket in the side of each chicken breast. Make the pocket as large as you can without piercing the top or bottom of the breast. Place 1/4 cup of the pepper mixture in the pocket of each chicken breast. Secure the pocket with toothpicks threading along the side to close.

4. Heat the remaing 1 1/2 tablespoons oil in a heavy oven-proof skillet until it begins to smoke. Cook each side of the chicken until golden brown.

5. Add the vinegar and chicken stock and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and gently simmer the chicken for 2 or 3 minutes per side until cooked through.

6. Remove the chicken breasts from the skillet and keep warm. Continue to cook the sauce until it is reduced to a thick syrup.

7. Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper. Spoon the sauce over each chicken breast to serve.

Serving Size 1 chicken breast

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the warm welcomes and stories.

My name is Lisa and I'm 32 years old, from Virginia. I was married for 6 years, but got divorced April this year. I've been in a serious relationship now for quite some time.

I work in the legal field. I've been at my job now for about a year and I absolutely love it!!

I need to lose about 40-50 pounds, I've done it before, just need to do it again!! I could use all of the support I can get.

Take care.

Lisa

Default Pfft...

Well I have only done 4miles this week and we are off visiting for the weekend, so next week I will do more Haven't been scoffing much sugar cookies, although I do fancy a chocolate with sweet drippy cream innards. Maybe over Christmas I will find a box at somebody else's house

Shad-we will drive carefully, my husband is going to be reminded often that we have lots of time I'm sorry you were a witness to such an awful occurrence, it sure makes you want to hug everyone you love and tell them how much they mean to you, you never know. Thank you for your kind description of myself, I like being the AB picture producer

Mel-cold mornings don't make for good energy facing the world Hope you found the bikini alright I bet it look very fetching along with your fuzzy boots. The image of Rachel Welch in that Caveman movie comes to mind or maybe it that Startrek episode with Mariette Hartley in the frozen wasteland, when Spoke reverts back to barbarian Vulcan I know what you mean about needing a little motivator commitment to spark the weight movement downwards again. I'm counting on Leslie Sasone to get my kester into gear Lovely looking chicken recipe, I really like peppers. I have had a hankering for a stir fry, sesame oil My husband is anti vegetables though so I may have to have a little something ordered in when I'm down in the city. Salt laden take out version

Happy-think light thoughts I hope the doctor eases your spirit with some promising news.

PW-You have to pop in and check on us daily or you miss so much, especially about me How are you faring? I found some lovely new creams at a website, Divagirl body.com, they smell wonderful and my sisters are getting them for Christmas. Ginger, lemon and shea butter, big intake of air, ahhh!

Lisa-Welcome and nice to have you amongst us. I am a work in progress, not too good at losing weight, but I love cheering on the one's who do figure it out and make headway. Best of good energy!

Ruth-wow, weekly home changes! Wouldn't we be the naughty Jet setting young things! I guess the thread could be restarted every week but sheesh you know some of us get lost easily It is a big world!! How are you now? Have you thawed into a puddle?

Madcat-I didn't think of Bruce Willis until Mel mentioned him That show was so good when it first started turned into such a mess at the end. Breathe deep and do your best with the application guide, you are the voice of the future! You have the power!

Holly-How cold is it? It seems like your side of the country is getting a ton more snow this year. Fingers crossed that no ice storms swing through. My kids are out for the holidays tomorrow. Crazy time cometh

Linus-How are your peepers? Getting some rest? Sorry about Craig, sounds like he made the better choice though, so take some comfort in that. He isn't a thug Koochie Koo to CJ.

Hello out there

Shad-- Terrific summary... I wish we had a frapper map .. (friends map) so we could get faces with the locations. I was never much on memorization... better with association... but all of you Canadians get shuffled around the provinces... and As to Aussies with THEIR states... and sometimes there's just a space/time fllip-flop and somebody gets moved to a different hemisphere or timezone... and you can only imagine how that messes up who the DH's and D-kids are.

Madcat & Raven T-- thanks for the good wishes. Will check out Goldenseal... and swill more green tea more often. Would love to get up East to any degree... Indiana would be good (where my DS is), Kentucky/TN, MA, ME or Toronto etc.

Ciao.

Ruthxxx... howdy, stranger... I like the idea of a subgroup... it that's an easier way to keep the old threads bundled....
