Sherry - I didn't know about the fried chicken in pork rinds. Can I bug you again for that recipe. I made the taco salad and loved it. I think the main thing is to always be trying different things so we don't get bored.
Cushings disease is an overactive adrenal gland that puts too much steroid into the dogs system and poisons them. There own body turns on them. I never heard of it either until she was diagnosed with it. Sheba is 12 1/2 and she is my baby, she is a husky and she talks instead of barking.
Cheryl.....Sure you can come!!!! The more the merrier!!!!!!
Janice.......
Dip your chicken tenders in eggs, salt & pepper and roll into crushed pork rinds (I use bar-b-q ones). Then fry in the skillet like you would regular batter chicken. That's it!! Enjoy!!
Here's a recipe I found today that I'll try this weekend. Sounds great to me!!!

Kinda upset tonight...it will be cold tomorrow so I decided to try on some of my pants since wearing shorts most of the time. They fit looser in the butt & legs but seem super tight in the tummy & waist to the point I couldn't get a few pairs zipped. Whats up with that? Could it be because it is the week of TOM? Now I feel like a fat cow... Help me stay motivated girls!
BTW: I forgot who asked now...my cousin is recuperating in a nursing home after being transfered from the hospital. They found more infection again but are able to treat it at the facility. Hopefully he will have a complete recovery. His son went through a nasty divorce and has a set of twins. The x-wife even wanted to abort the babies. When his dad became ill, he called the X-FIL to see if they could watch the girls so he could go be with his dad. All seemed to be fine until a few days later when he was served with papers for abandonment from her lawyer! He is a very loving and caring father and loves those girls dearly, the X is just acting out in spite.
Janice-What about unsalted peanuts in the shell? I used to eat so many of them when I was on Atkins. It takes longer to eat them, since you have to shell each one, and you are getting your exercise by shelling them
Gayle-Yes, flowers are sent in the Jewish religion. Don't be sorry about asking any questions about it. Please don't be so hard on yourself about the long pants not fitting. Remember, you only started Core a couple of weeks ago, and the last time you wore the pants was when it was cooler out.
Sherry-I don't know what Chancery is. Is it the computer system that your school distict is on? If so, I do know that "they" can tell what exact websit you are on in my district.
Dad wanted me to go to the funeral, but he understood that I didn't want to ask for another day off. My DB and DSIL will be attending. My parents will be leaving today and staying until Saturday. In the Jewish religion you "sit shiva" for 3 nights at the house of the closest relative of the deceased. My parents will be going to my cousin's house to sit with her.
Gotta go-can't post to everyone. Oh, BTW, I got bitten again! My elbow is swollen. I don't know if some weird insect is living in my house, or if I get these bites when I run. I tend to think this happened yesterday morning when I ran since it started hurting at services yesterday.
Sherry ....I understand how you feel about the girlfriend, i feel that way with Cara's boyfriend he can get on my nerves fast but she loves him and i have to accept that. He is a nice boy but not my choice.
Gayle....Geeeez don't you just hate it when you feel and know that you lost so weight and then you try something on and it shoots you down. I don't understand it either and i just quit trying on things for awhile.
I have lost 10 lbs. taking Relacore. You take two capsules before each meal and i can tell a big difference in some of the things i wear.
Shelley .....Take care of yourself when running do you I am sure you do use any kind of bug spray before you run or is that not a good idea for runners. Do you have your cell phone with you when you run (just in case).
Well those little rug rats will be coming soon so better jump off.
I will let you in on a little secret...I am getting tired of watching children all the time. It has run its course......
Shelley our 25th is November 8th. We will be celebrating it on Nov 5th at a hotel with a dinner and party after. Because we had such a big 2oth with a dinner and dance this will be a little smaller. Probably around 50-60 people. We will be going out to a beutiful romantic cottage for 3 nights with all the ammenties.
I am sorry to hear about the passing of your aunt. It is especially hard when it is a holiday. I like how you have a "sit shiva". It is nice to have loved ones around when you are grieving.
Janice I will be thinking of you on friday when you have your surgery. Let us know when you can how you are doing. I am sure that for awhile you will not be able to type with two hands.
I know how you feel about your dog. I love mine as if he is my child. When we lost our 13 year old pek I was devastated. I hope that they will be able to do something for your husky.
Vicki let me know if you enjoy the Dukes of Hazard. We got a few laughs.
I am sorry to hear that your arm is still giving you problems. It sure is taking a long time to heal.
Dealing with a Mother with dementia has to be one of the hardest things that you will ever do. I am sure that you are morning the Mother that you had. One of my neighbors that is only 54 has dementia really bad. He was off work since he was 50. It is sad to see someone with this illness go down hill. Hugs to you.
How long did it take you to lose the 10 pounds. You are doing awesome and I am sure that you feel great about it.
I also ran a daycare for 18 years and I know that it is one of the most challenging under payed jobs. It takes a very special person to work with children and you have done a wonderful job.
Cheryl I guess selling your trailer just wans't meant to be right now. Settling for less that you want would have not been a good idea. Hang in there.
Don't be discouraged withyour weight. Keep on trying and tweek a few things. Maybe you can do some extra walking.
Gayle thanks for letting me know how your cousin is doing. I sure hope that the infection they found clears up soon. That x of your cousin sounds like a bi#$h! How can people be like that when you know it will affect your children too.
Your batch of sparkling wine sounds like good, maybe I will have to come down and sample it when it is ready.
Don't be discourage Gayle. I know how you feel I have been there. I have been anxious to try on clothes that I am sure that will fit me or be baggy on me to only find that they are still tight. You have to focus on the positive. They were baggie on the butt and hips. Besides that I know that my tummy swells at the TOM so it is probably that.
Would you be able to post the soup recipe. I would like to make it. It sounds like something that would warm me up today. Would you believe that as I am typing this that there is a BLIZZARD outside. I woke up to 70 outside on sunday morning. You just never know. Thankfully it will not stay.
Sherry I am jealous I would love to meet with all you ladies. What a dream.
Magically after about 3 weeks my script error is gone. I don't know if someone fixed it but it isn't here. Thanks if you did it.
You bet it felt good to tell someone what I did. My girlfriend booked her surgery for Nov 24th. It will be intereting to compare after.
I will clear up your confusion about Jay and Dez's room. Dez is living at an apartment close by but I still call her old bedroom her room. Jay bought a house about a mile from here and will be movine out Nov 1. We had the guy down for window estimate and it looks like they will not be able to do them til January or longer.
SO WHAT IS THE SECRET? WHERE ARE YOU AND DEBBIE GOING? PLEASE TELL.......
Has anyone started Christmas shopping? I have 6 of my girlfriends gifts, Ashley's gift and my God Child's gift. I like to be done by Nov 25th. I hate crowds.
Dee!! CHRISTMAS SHOPPING???????!!!!!!!! Heavens NO!!!! Remember, I'm the one that just STARTED shopping 2 weeks before Christmas last year!! I'm thinking about just skipping it this year!!! No tree...no gifts...Nothing!!!! (I sound like a scrooge don't I?)
The secret is that Sherry and I have been offered tickets to the Colts vs Titans game Dec. 4th in Indianapolis. We are going to make a weekend thing of it staying all night in some fancy hotel after the game and driving back to Nashville on Monday. We both need a weekend getaway and to have some fun at a game for once.
Thank you for the support girls!!! I know alot of it is fluid, TOM etc. but it still messes with your thinking when you keep seeing no change or a gain.
I had to hurry and change my tracker! I am OFFICALLY at the halfway point!
I weighed this morning and lost the couple of pounds gained PLUS an extra 1 pound!!!
This is TOM week for me so I fully expected no loss or a gain on the scale. In fact, I almost decided to not weigh today, but then I thought what the heck. I'm sure I will show a gain again after Sunday with the wine tasting and appetizers, but I am getting right back on plan Monday.
Dee, I made a CORE CHILI, it is very similar to the flavor of Wendy's chili.
1#-93%-95% lean ground beef (browned)
1-14/15 oz. can tomato sauce
1-14/15 oz. can kidney beans with liquid
1-14/15 oz. can pinto beans with liquid
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced celery
1 small can diced green chilis (about 1/4 cup)
1-can rotel tomato chilis
1 t. cumin
1 T. chili powder
1 t. black pepper
2 t. salt
1 cup water
I mixed everything together in the crockpot and cooked on low most of the day.
If you prepare it on the stovetop, simmer/low heat/stir every 15 minutes for 2-3 hours.
I'm making potato soup tonight!!!! I will make the rest of the family soup like usually and will prepare mine with skim milk.
DEE****PLEASE EMAIL A PICTURE TO ME! I WANT TO SEE YOU & LARRY!
Deb, I KNOW you two girls will have soooooooo much fun in December! I will be watching the news to see if they mention two wild women running the streets in Indy!!!
Sher, thank you for the recipes! I can take both of them and adapt them to my core plan. YES!!!!! We all know you love last minute Christmas shopping!
I made a few Christmas gift purchases this week too. I need to start early because BOTH of the girls have birthdays within a month of Christmas. This is the time of year I look around at some of the stores for clearance toys etc. Steve and I set our budget for each other last night too, so now I can start shopping for him.
Shelley, thank you for explaining the process of going about the death of a loved one. Years ago people of all religions use to have what they would call a wake. The person who passed on would remain in the home and lay in state with all the family and loved ones present. Prayers are sent to your family!!!
Cheryl, how ya doing???? PLEASE do not get discouraged!
Janice, your surgery is tomorrow??? I will be sending good vibes for a speedy procedure and an even quicker recovery!
I'm concerned about Ramona...I emailed her and she USUALLY emails me right back...I still haven't heard from her. She hasn't posted here for several weeks if I remember correctly.
BTW: I ran across a thread asking about Jennelle. She has not posted either since the hurricane. I think her area was one of the hardest hit.
Just made a baked oatmeal recipe from the web but made my own adjustments! I tasted a piece warm from the oven and it is better then I expected! Hopefully, it will taste even better once it cools and sets up. I added just a splash of Davinci SF vanilla syrup for flavor to the top on the piece I sampled. Reminded me of a pumpkin pie/ pumpkin bread combination.
I ALSO NEED SHELLEY to tell me if it is all core! As far as I can tell...YES!
Gayles revised baked pumpkin oatmeal
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
1.5 t. baking powder
1 cup skim milk
1/2 of a 15 oz. can of solid pumpkin
2 eggs
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup splenda
1.5 t. pure vanilla
1 t. cinnamon
Bake in a sprayed 8x8 pan/350 degrees/40-45 minutes
Debbie and Sherry that will be a lot of fun. Is it just the two of you? Girls night out on the town can be very dangerous! I bet you ladies will laugh so much that weekend that your tummies will hurt.
Sherry guess what I have that script erro showing again. It was gone for almost a week. This is what is says
an error on the script has occurred
Line 287
Char 17
Error unterminated string constant
Code 0
I have no clue what that means!
Gayle is that a nice surprise to be down a pound when you thought that you would be up. You are doing great. Thank you for the recipe. I love soup and will make this one soon. What is tomato chili? I haven't heard of it. I have made baked oatmeal before but not with pumpkin. Sounds good. Well I am glad that I am not the only one that has started christmas shopping. Jay's birthday is on the 19th this month plus I have been picking up all kinds of gifts for him for when he move in 3 weeks. I haven't got him any christmas gifts because all the gifts are going to be given before christmas. I will send you a picture soon. Hopefully tonight.
I haven't heard from Jennelle or Ramona. Please post if you read this.
I had a rough night last night. I barely sleep, my tummy had a pain in it just below the ribs close to where they stitched the muscles. Everytime that I do a bit to much it hurts but this was bad. I might be a bad girl I don't know. It has been 5 weeks and I jogged 1 mile and walked 2 yesterday. The jog was slow so I don't know. I also slipped on a hanger at wal-mart two days ago and that pulled all my stitches inside. WHo know but I am feeling no pain now with my oxycontin.
I have to go get read, I have my dreaded cardiologist appointment today.
Dee-Please be careful with those stitches. You just had major surgery and it isn't a time for you to be doing so much.
Gayle-Looks all Core to me. I love baked oatmeal. I freeze mine though and eat it while frozen. Otherwise, it's a red light food for me. I can eat the whole pan when it's warm.
Can't post to everyone right now, I have a few things to get done before dinner.
Janice......
I will be thinking of you tomorrow hon!! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers!!
Low carbers: I fixed the broc. soup tonight and added my bacon. It's sooo good!!!
Dee....I LOVE your pictures! You are very pretty. The caption you wrote sounds great! You are sooooo TINY!!! I'm JEALOUS!!!!!!!!
Shelley....How is your elbow? Ouch girl!!! Get rid of those spiders!!!!!! I have been worried to death about my posting while at work! We probably have a system like yours that shows everything too!!!
