I have sometimes gone through the frustration with not losing. Kind of like doing the work and not seeing the reward for your efforts. The thing that has worked for me in the past is to go back to basics. I found that if I was not journelling down what I ate every day, I was sneaking in food that I shouldn't have been. I have also gained when I was gaining muscle, but the inches have dropped. I found taking my measurements have helped as well. TOM will also affect me as well.

Nikki - Huggs!

I understand where you are at - I've been there! I've found that some foods just make me either gain weight or retain water. Also, sometimes if you add more "diet" foods they actually have more sugar or salt than normal to account for lower flavor, and your body might react to those. I'd make sure I was drinking LOTS of water and yes... TOM is part of it!

Hang in there! Don't give up, just the exercising is making you healthier and you should be proud of that! I need help getting motivated to exercise

So - I was wondering, do you guys want this to just be a support group on an as-needed basis or do we want to have a regular "weigh-in" or "check-in" to see how we are doing? Some people like the thought of having to report to people, while others absolutely hate feeling pressure.... I could go either way! I'm hear for the chatting and friendship personally

Have a great Friday everyone -

I've added most of you with MSN to my messenger - give me a buzz sometime when you see I'm online!

Talking Happy Friday Morning Everyone!!!

Well I blew it this week badly...

Caved to a dr pepper and a pepsi... UGHHHHHHHHH
also caved and ate a mini bag of fritos when hubby and I were out shopping and I was starving and just couldn't last anymore.. im going to have to start carrying healthy non perishable snack type things in my big bag I call a purse for just times like that.

Went grocery shopping and stocked up an alot of fruits and veggies and shopped mainly the outside of the store but did have to venture down a few aisles to get spices.. etc.

Hubby is getting into this eating healthier and losing weight bit also. Which is good

HottieInHiding- My mom went back after having taught for a few years and got her masters taking classes at night and during the summer and now is working on her doctorate... course but she is now thinking of just stopping at a reading specialist and not getting the doctorate...

ntn4utide- I so agree with the pepsi.. unfortunately hubby had bought pepsi, mt dew and dr pepper.. at least we keep it in a fridge in the garage.. so I have to actually go out there to get one.. but I still caved yesterday big time!

Treadmill is a great place to start!! Gyms are intimidating aren't they??? Does yours have a program where they introduce you to the facility and the equipment?? Some do.

Bubbley-yum- Paris sounds like an exciting trip!!! and getting in shape for that trip is understandable...plane seats are uncomfortable at any weight ( least I think, especially when your squished in the middle seat ) Breakfast is a hard one for me also... I love to eat breakfast foods ... but my problem is not getting up in time to fix a good breakfast or skipping the meal and lunch and grazing the afternoon away and eating a big dinner.

Broken Butterfly- School is difficult but sounds like you are doing great..It is stressfull attending college and hard to not compare yourself to your fellow students.

nconeal-muscle weighs more so that could be why your weighing more.. and it happens alot when losing weight.. your building muscle so your gaining but then you will start losing the fat weight trust me! and also that dreaded TOM adds water weight...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Looking forward to getting to know everyone ... sorry if I didn't say hi to everyone today.. im sort of stressing Summer quarter ends the 25th and I have 2 projects, 8 quizzes and 4 tests between now and then!! Along with the usual household duties and looking for a part time job.. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
feel free to add me to yahoo or msn..
msn is jenacook80 hotmail

MaFeatherlegs- We all have moments like that. Its just important to get back on track

I'll be blowing it tomorrow for my birthday. Hot wings galore. I'll try and hold back, but I can't know for sure. I'm going to try my best to not touch any pepsi, because I know I'll just crave it the next day.

Nevertheless, I did get a mp3 player from my parents for the big day. They gave it to me today because I was going out for a walk. Its great. I walk much faster to a beat .

Looks like we have a few from Canada, eh? Yay!

Nikki!

Yeah, I was up 3 this week due to TOM and the dreaded birthday cake syndrome. Watch how much muiscle you are building at the gym, that could accout for some the weight. Muscle cause weight, but that's not necessarily bad. Some people like to watch inches to see the redistribution of fat turned to muscle, etc. Ask one of the trainers about it and get some tips about what would be best. That happened to me tto at the gym. Great Job everybody!

Default Butterflies Update

Well, I realized that I need to get my *** back on the wagon, I wasn't totally off of it yet, but getting there fast. My fiance's parents aren't coming out for christmas, but instead in May of next year. So girls, that gives me a little more time to lose some more weight for the wedding. (not to mention save up for it)
Should we just keep adding to this same thread? Or should we have different ones lol I'm thinking we should just keep adding to this same thread.. It makes it easier so everyone knows everything is in the same place.
Ok so, I have an idea for everyone to do if they want. When I decided I wanted to do this for real, I made a list of all the things that I want to do when I reach my goal and am healthier. I found it really motivated me, and I am going to type up a really nice one and fold it up and put it in my wallet and carry it with me everywhere.
Also, I was thinking we can have a weekly weigh in and follow up on how everyone is doing. Maybe sunday? monday? Talk to you all later!!

Weekly weigh in chat sounds fine! I don't have my weigh in until Thursdays, so Monday would be fine for me. (I don't have a computer at home at the moment, so I can not check in on weekends). I think posting on the current thread would be work out fine, until it gets super huge and then a new thread may have to be created.

I think here is fine, at least while we get to know each other etc. Maybe if stuff gets rolling, we could have challenge or weigh-in threads. I like the idea of a Monday weigh-in.

That's good you have until May, less stress! Make sure you remember to have fun with the planning too. Don't let it take over your life!

I love the list of things you want to do. I have some like that, in my head. But putting it out there to read is a great idea. I know I want to hike again. I also want to run a 5 or 10K (if my knees hold up!)

Have a great Monday everyone! I'm still the same weight I was on Friday, so that's a good thing. Weekends can be hard

Default Good Monday to everyone!

Hope you all had a good weekend!...
Did some swimming this weekend.. we got one of those above ground 5 ft pools ... lol! I swam under the coat of darkness last night.. was so much fun! But just glad no one could see me out there in my ugly suit. I think as long as its hot im going to do that every evening.. my thighs and legs sure feel it today. All that kicking I did...

Catherine Hope you had a happy birthday.! Belated Best Wishes from me .
Sounds like a good idea the weigh in. I was only going to weigh in once a month but I guess I could change that.
More time to plan for a wedding!!!! Thats good, relax and enjoy. Hubby and I eloped .. so we didn't have all the planning etc.. Weddings are so exciting!

I did fairly well yesterday eating.. im going to try to start eating smaller meals throughout the day instead of pigging out with a huge meal in the evening..

And excercise.
But im off to do some studying and wish you all have a great day!!!

Well, I finally got down to 267. Thank goodness. I was getting so worried. I'm going to start tracking inches now. I have to get a tape measure. I can't wait to see results there. I didn't do my exercise yesterday. I got up sick and didn't go to work. I'm sure the boss is going to be thrilled since I'll be out tomorrow to go to the dentist. Anyways, keep up the great work everyone is doing. Have a great Tuesday all!

Hey Girls! I haven’t been able to get online for a few days bc of dial up. I ordered DSL through BellSouth. I received my modem yesterday but it is not working. So I got on for a few minutes while at work.. I hope everyone is doing great and having a good week!! I will get on later tonight after my workout to catch up with y’all.

Monday check-in's fine for me too....i'll be in europe for 2 weeks starting the 15th though. The list sounds like an interesting idea but i'm more of a person to do things now than later. I've learned that the hard way.
