  • Morning!!

Lisa.....You feel like a 100 lb rock in your tummy, and I feel like I've been hit by a 100 lb rock!!! Boy am I sore from that class yesterday. My back feels so tender and raw from all the arm movements (jabs and punches). I am surprized though, that my legs are great from all that kicking. I took a nice lazy hot bubble bath last night so I know that helped. Well no rest today, I've suited up and am ready to head to the gym again after E's bus goes. Today its cardio combo....no clue about that one, and after is body sculpting with weights. Not sure if I'll make it to that one or just a portion and then do my treadmill. UP AND AT'EM EVERYONE.....make the most of today!!!
  • You sitting down?
I've got wonderful news! Nope. Not the car insurance thing (I have state farm). But I got a great diagnosis from the doctor's appointments (2) yesterday. I won't go into all the details, (I'll save that for my journal) but I have 20/20 vision, no more Optic nerve problems and the neurologist have ruled out MS and cite the spots on my brain as past damage from my battles with Diabetes and nothing more. Now, that little nagging voice in my head said I can't trust those quacks, look at all the messes they've made in my life before, but I'm trying to use this "Clean slate" as a spring board to get better with every aspect in my life. I bought that Urban Rebounder (mini trampoline with DVD work outs $150.00) and I'm trying to be more healthy with my diet. Speaking of which, I some how put some of those seven pounds back on. I was blaming salt, but we'll see. I THOUGHT that whoosh was too good to be true. But I'm only up three so far. When is our actual weigh in day? I'm so giddy, I'm confused.

Dee and L2L it's great to see you two posting again and weigh to go on everyone's losses. I'll check in again from work later today. Thanks for being here, everyone!
  • Lisa... just let yesterday be the past... and move on.. start fresh today! one day isnt gonna ruin all your months of hard work... Today will be a better OP day!!!!

Turtle your new toy sounds like fun!! and beware the salt it will get ya!! it got me! lol and what did i do this morning?? put salt on my boiled egg DUH!
  • Good morning everyone. I have been quite productive this morning. Two loads of laundry out on the line already and I moved that bookcase, then decided I didn't like where I put something from yesterday and moved it again. I also brought an old rocking chair from out on my porch in and cleaned it up so I can use it in my living room. It's quite comfortable and better than using the dining room chairs.

I also went to the gym last night so I have been getting my fair share of exercise in. I think I'm going to go do a little shopping today. I need some sweats that actually fit before the weather starts to get cold here which should be soon.

Lisa-we all have bad days. The important thing is to not use it as an excuse to throw in the towel. It was one bad day, that was all. Get right back on program and keep going.
  • Hotcup.....Your news is SO MUCH BETTER than saving on your car insurance!!! LOL.... and yes I was sitting down! That is excellent, I can't imagine you dreading those 2 appts and then to get such great news. I was flipping through the channels last week and came across that jumper tramp. and dvd's on the home shopping network. It certainly got my attention.. Sounds like a great workout.

I just got back from the gym and the cardio combo is a killer class but well worth it. Great aerobic routine, great music and then to change things up abit.....we did small intervals of jogging on the treadmill mixed in with a step bench. WOOHOO, well I guess its another hot bath tonight!!! too bad dh left for a trip today, could have had a bit of fun. **wink wink** hehe...I guess you can tell I love this dancing banana!!
  • Im making the bacon cheeseburger quiche for dinner... from south beach... it was really yummy last time i made it!

    and its easy to make!

ok everyone have a GREAT DAY!
  • Howdy All,

I am feeling much better today. My tummy has been upset since Tuesday night and I have a need to goooooooooooooo! (more info than anyone cared to have I am sure) Sorry if you are eating breakfast. Last week I started taking a multi vitimin. The results have made me stopped up along with my eat feast Tuesday night. I am still trying to get back to normal.

ON the good news, I mowed the lawn Tuesday night. Might be the last time for the season according to dh. I think we will need to do it once more. He likes to leave it long for winter. There are parts of our yard that are green and thick. I couldn't understand why he watered??? Last night I made it to the gym. Although they were busy I still enjoyed my workout. I consentrated on the ellipitcal and seeing how many more strides per minute I could get instead of the amount of time. Mon-Wed are my quick workouts. I can only be there for an hour. I try to make the best of it. Anyway, I got my strides up on both high and low intervals and could keep up the intensity longer. I sweated like a pig. A NSV for me...YEAAAAA. I worked hard. I have butt muscle problems today. LOL Thursday's are a hard day for me to get my workouts in. M has piano and I have been going to the grocery store during it. If we can get homework done, I will take her on a short bike ride after dinner or do a video. I haven't decided yet. Tomorrow night and Saturday morning are my longer workouts. I do 60 minutes on the ellipitcal, treadmill or split it between both and 30 minutes of weights. Since I ride my bike during the summer, I don't do the bike anymore but will start during the winter. I am working hard on the weights. The ab machine about kills me. LOL I added weights to my normal workout about 3 weeks ago. I think I need to give it more time. I am up to 3 sets of 10 and working on 1 set of 15 and 2 sets of 10. They have a personal trainer at the Y so I think I need to make an appointment...just to see what I could do better.

Saturday, my family plus sis in law, bro in law, kids and a friend of M's mom, son and daughter are going to the farm. Plenty of fresh air, sunshine and great veggies and fruit. LOL We get to pick our own. The kids love it and it has become a tradition each fall. The back of the van will be full when we are done!

Another NSV for me. The lady that cleans our office came by to pick up her check. She hasn't seen me since April. SHe couldn't believe my WL. Told me I probably only needed to lose about 10 more lbs..nahh...I would still be above 200. I have been thinking about my goal weight but will stay consentrated on getting under 200 before Halloween first. I need to go to the gyno by the end of the year...we finally hit our deductable this year. M's shots cost us $185.00..urrgggg... Anyway, I am going to consult my doctor on what my weight should be before I decide my ultimate goal.

Curly: Your dinner sounded great. We had salads last night and a pb&j. LOL Dinner was good and I had points left over so I downed a glass of milk.

Angel: good for you for going to classes. I haven't got the nerve or the time to say I need to be there at X time. Maybe this winter I can find a class..but for now..I will use the wellness center and pool. I noticed a lot of newbies in the gym last night.

Petra: I am back OP...never really fell off..just slipped. LOL I got plenty of exercise in last weekend...I am hoping the scale is kind to me on Saturday. I have decided NOT to weigh myself for the next 3 days until my official on Saturday. I am becoming scale obsessed.

Turtle: great news about the doc. I am having scale issues too. I promised myself I would only weigh in on Saturday and not look at it again until then. I was up 10lbs since my WI on Saturday on Monday night. Freaks out your mind. I had gotten it down about 5lbs by making darn sure I got my water in. We will see what it shows on Saturday. M has a mini tramp. I bought it at a garage sale a few years ago. She uses it more in the winter. She has a big tramp too. Every once in a while I will get on it with her. LOL She loves it because my weight makes her bounce higher. I watched America's Funniest Video one time...and it showed a heavy lady falling through the tramp...so I am very careful on it. LOL

Dee and L2L..where are you?? Post often..it is good for the soul.

  • Good morning
G'morning Chica Chica PIC PIC PIC's. I'm up rather early for an afternoon shift person. My aunt has been wanting me to come visit her for weeks. She still thinks I work midnight shift. She's 80 and I've given up on trying to convince her that I'm on a different shift now. She's been working for years on this geneology thing and has it ready and is wanting to give it to all of us. I hope that's all this is about. She's been very adament about me coming down. So I'm up as early as I could stand it, and will leave as soon as I can get my turtle butt in gear.

Curly: My TOPS group came upon that same charm bracelet idea. I was so excited when they finally said the bracelets were in. But I was SO disappointed when they handed me the most plain (and unfortunately cheap feeling) chain I'd ever seen. It doesn't even look like a bracelet. It looks like the chain on the handle of a dollar store umbrella. But I did wear it proudly for a day or so. I think a charm bracelet is a great idea though. Maybe when I go back to TOPS and they see my loss, I'll get a charm. If the charms are as cheap as the chain, I'll be mad. And if that IS the case, I'll have to buy myself a charm bracelet (and will need your link), thanks.

I don't have time this morning to address you all, but I hope you're all doing great and feeling motivated. I did five minutes on the stepper yesterday and I'm trying to work exercise back into my program. Let's all pull together and help each other in the areas they need it. Happy Thursday everyone. Maybe we need a roll-call? Have a great day. I'm thankfull to each and every one of you PIC Divas
  • Hi Ladies,
its been soooo long. I can't believe it. My life has been a mess and of course so has my eating habits. I have been running around, out of town, starting a new postion at work, and packing ot move so I havn't had much time to get in my excersise, and even though its just as easy as eating poorly, I havn't been able to stay OP with my foods. I was out of town for the past 2 WW meetings so I havn't WI in 3 weeks. Yikes. I'm scared.
Yesterday was my birthday and I remeber that when I set my goal, I wanted to be at my goal weight by my 30th birthday so now the count down has begun, I'm 29 and that means only 52 weeks left and I need to lose!
I need some incouragement and I need to keep checking in. I feel like it helps me stay on track to check in and see how everyone else is doing.
So today was day one(yesterday I had cake and birthday stuff so I'm gonna start today), I've done well, I had a grilled chicken salad at home for luch and lots of water. I am coachingmy son's soccer tonight so I won't get in a work out but I won't be sitting on the couch either.
I'm gonna go back and try and catch up with everyone.
    talk to you all soon.
    Jennie
  • just bought my bracelet now i need to pick out my charms... ill go ahead and buy 10 but only put them on my bracelet for the 10's ive lost.. lol
  • Hi Gang !

Another quick check in for me as I try to munch down a salad before my next meeting.

Good to see everyone on track and posting. Things are going pretty well for me, however, I haven't managed to drag myself out of bed the past 2 mornings to walk. Guess I can't expect to be able to do everything !!

Welcome back Jennie, glad to see your post !

Turtle, Lisa, Petra, Mom, Curly, Angel - miss chatting with you, but I am happy to know that you will all be here whenever I get a chance to check in.

Well back to it for me. Have a great day.. the weekend is almost upon us.

  • Hi everyone!!

Welcome back Jennie....and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Good job on getting started, no time like the present. I would make sure you go to the next meeting to get you back on track. Yoohoo on the new job!! Hope its for alot more money$$$. Try to keep little baggies of legal snacks ready for you in case you get the munchies. Right now if you're driving the extra distance, it could be a lifesaver. Are you excited about moving?

Curly......the bracelet sounds like a great idea. What kind of charms do they have? Are they themed, or just pretty stones? Can you please post the link?

TLB......I have to say that I'm also guilty of hitting the snooze button occasionaly. For me though, its the difference between chatting to my son before he leaves for school at 7:30am or just saying 'have a good day!' Lately though, I have been getting up before the alarm goes off at 7am. Working out as I have been, I have been falling asleep by 10pm....hence the early wake up time now.

Hotcup......How did your visit go with your Aunt? I'm sure she will be sitting by the window just counting the minutes until your visit. It will be the highlight of her day!!

Lisa......Did you get the pm I sent you? Just wondering if you've had a chance to try the crab salad recipie. It was really good, might have it for lunch again tommorow.

Petra......How are you enjoying your holidays? HOpe you are still OP and getting to the gym.
  • charms

  • Yes, I went to power yoga last night. Today I got the oil changed in my car, went to the Christian bookstore and bought more CD's I needed like I need another hole in my head. I got the new audio adrenaline one though, Lisa. I also made a low carb cheesecake. That was an all afternoon project. In fact, it is still in the oven cooling. It has to cool in the oven for 3 hours. Cheesecake is about the only low carb dessert that really comes out good because the only ingredient you have to change is the sugar-to splenda and that doesn't taste much different. I made the crust out of ground almonds. However, I ate too many carbs in general today. All legal foods, but too many. Not a lot of calories though and tonight my tummy is kind of upset. I guess that is what I get for it.

I'm still watching quite a bit of news coverage about the hurricane. I don't think I"ll be able to go visit for at least a year unless I go as a volunteer and the city will never be the same. It looks like a lot of people will never return which will change the cultural makeup of the city and I suspect parts of the city will never be rebuilt because they won't be able to adequately protect them from another storm. Only time will tell.
