I'm debating about a piece of my raspberry cheesecake so I came up to check my journal to see how many carbs I had already had for the day. I can afford a piece of cheesecake :D
Dee-I looked for your flax seed bread at our grocery store. We don't have that brand. We have some other brand and it had about 16 grams of carbs per slice which was out of the question. I did get a new kind of bread. It's called "organic womens bread" What a name. It has 7 grams a slice. It has flax seed and a bunch of other stuff, soy isoflavones, cranberries and I'm not sure what all in it. I'll let you know what I think after I try it. It cost an arm and a leg so I hope it tastes pretty good. My parents are coming tomorrow and staying until Tues. morning so I had to buy stuff I don't eat for them. It was a zoo at the grocery store and I will have to go again tomorrow. YIKES! I have a small refrigerator since I live alone. Thanks for all the links everyone. Not sure when I'll have time to check them all out. |
Here's my food journal for today:
B: Large cappucino with carb countdown milk, homemade low carb pumpkin muffin. L: taco salad without the shell D: Chocolate orange truffle protein shake S: Slice sugar free raspberry cheesecake. Totals: 1309 Calories, 39 net carbs, 11 fiber, 88 protein. I'm a little low on the calories and protein for me. |
Friday, December 23, 2005
B: Zone Bar L: 1 cup eggbeater, 1 slice LF provolone, 1 slice rye w/LC cheese wedge S: 2 slices low carb bread, 3 LC lite cheese wedges (175 calories) D: Chicken salad with grapes and celery, cauliflower S: No pudge sundae cone (100 calories) S: Pecans (98 calories) S: PB & J sandwich, LC cheese wedge S: Yogurt & strawberries *edit* I went over on calories again today! But only by 45 calories. I tell it it's that peanut butter. I can't resist. I'm at 1645 calories for the day. We're making baked pecans with splenda and I figured I could have 10 halves. I did 45 mintues at curves. Turtle Thanks for stopping in to wish us a happy holiday. It's good to see you! :wreath: Curly 1.25 hours working out! Wow! I think I'm doing a lot by 45 minutes! :strong: Petra I like your menu! I bet you enjoyed that cheesecake! Dee, Angel Eyes & everyone else. Hope you're having a great day! |
Happy Dec 23 to everyone.... :present:
Man what a day! WHEW. Actually it was really good, til the delivery guy with the candy showed up lol. I didn't eat my way thru making all the sandwiches, which I always did in the past when I worked in the deli, so I was happy about that. I did eat way to many Sees candies. About 8 before I finally realized I really wasn't enjoying them. I finally got the one I was hoping for and stayed away from them the rest of the day. B Coffee w/cream L 1/2 turkey sandwich, pesto mayo, no cheese S Way to many candies D 1 biscuit, SOS, applesauce, green beans, tomatoes S none, cuz I'm still feeling ickky about the candy! exercise ~ I will be doing 1 mile WAPT after dinner settles Not the best of days, but by no means the worst! ((((((Turtle)))))) Hey there. Merry Christmas to you too!!! Petra ~ I'm not the expert on it yet but nutritiondata.com is pretty extensive. Plus it has a great plugin for Firefox users. We carry a Womans bread too. I didn't look at the numbers on that one. Yours sounds really good. I wonder if it's the same one. Have a great time with the folks! I really have mixed feelings about being away from my family for the holidays..... I love them dearly, but, let's just say I don't have the most functional family around. lol.. I'll see them in the spring. Angel Eyes~ Could you possibly be just a little excited about Christmas?? :hohoho: heheheh... I hope your stocking is stuffed with happy things! Curly~ Glad you liked the valentines challenge name! Lee thinks it's pretty cool you're using it :) You just keep up the hard work lady, cuz it's all gonna pay off in the end :carrot: btw, are you using that gazelle? I'm curious what kind of workout you feel like your getting with it.... Val~ I love pecans! You are really doing great if you can actually limit yourself to 8 halves!!! You GO Girl!!!! I pop on to imissjerry but nobody (that I know or chat with) is ever there =/ Does Dar ever still go there? If you see her tell her I said hi and Merry Christmas!!! I'll be checking in tomorrow night after work. If you are busy with family and obligations for the rest of the week, then I'll wish you a very Merry Christmas tonight!!!!!! |
Merry Christmas...
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all the PICS! Enjoy the day tomorrow ... and don't fret too much.. But on December 26th Get ready to Grit your teeth and keep on fighting that battle!!!
Many thanks to all of you for all your support during this year... You have all been a great source of strength & comfort to me.. and are making it so much easier for me to stay focused on this journey... (((HUGS))) |
Aww Curly, that is so sweet! Thank you. I agree. Having this group does make this journey a lot easier.
The Woman's bread is good but I had 2 slices with breakfast this morning. Too many carbs. I've already had 30 for today and I haven't even gotten to lunch! This is not going to be a good few days with my parents here although I won't eat any sugar. I do have my head on straight about that. |
Last night I was driving to the store and was coming up to a house (down a dark country side road) that was sooo decorated with ton's of lights.....shooting stars, trees, manger, house trimmed etc etc....well as I got closer, there the owner was dressed up in a SANTA SUIT WAVING TO ALL THE CARS!!! What a sight!!! I started tooting my horn and waving....now THAT is fun!!!
I got an early Christmas present this morning....DOWN ANOTHER POUND!!! Somethings gotten into my scale!!!....but I'll take it. I haven't had a chance to finish my food journal for yesterday but it seems like I'm sure eating alot!! I agree with Petra and Curly....thanks so much for the great friendships we have made here at PIC's. I appreciate each and everyone!!! Curly.....what an awesome card you made...with all our names on it!!! thanks!! Have a very Merry Christmas, and if anyone is travelling....be safe!! Joyeux Noel !!! __________________ |

Hi Ladies !!
Sorry that I have been MIA. With work and school I have been pretty busy, and then to top it all off I have been fighting a cold for the past few weeks !! I want to wish you and your families all the best for the holiday season. Cheers !!:hat: |
Curly thanks for the card! It was very sweet! I agree this group is a great source of support! I know I haven't been here as long as some of you but I wanted to say thanks for making me feel so welcome!

Thank you Curly, your card is sweet. Now, I need to add my 2 cents about what a great group we have here. You are all wonderful people. This whole trip is difficult and you guys have made it much more enjoyable. Keep coming back! :grouphug: |
Merry Christmas~
As expected, having my parents here has made staying 100 percent OP difficult but my choices weren't too bad. The calories just got completely out of control. They brought junk for themselves to eat but are respectful of the fact that I don't eat it. These are my foster parents for those who don't remember but my foster mother is also morbidly obese. I wish I could motivate her to lose some weight too but if it hasn't happened by her 70's it may never happen. I'm going to get my Mom to make sugar free cranberry sauce today. We are actually going to have both (our family meal isn't until tomorrow because my brother is a minister). I'm also going to be busy making my desserts--sugar free pumpkin custard (pumpkin pie without a crust, and sugar free cheesecake.) I have to read in church this morning too so it will be a busy day here. My mom wrapped all my gifts yesterday.:D
Here's my food journal from yesterday. B: 2 eggs over easy, 4 slices nitrite free bacon, 2 slices organic woman's bread, 1/2 grapefruit, and cappucino with carb countdown milk L: Every good thing protein shake (chocolate carb countdown, vanilla whey protein powder, 1/2 tsp instant coffee, 1/8 tsp orange extract) D: Orange sesame salmon, green beans, zucchini latkes with sour cream Totals: 2054 Calories :fr: , 47 net carbs, 12 fiber, 182 protein. I'm sure I won't be liking my scale this morning. |
Dont fret on it Petra... we both know that come december 26th .. that you will be able to get right back on target and buckle down.. you werent over by much anyways.. And we all deserve one day to cut loose a tad...
(she says after she was attacked by a tin of Gingersnaps) well on the bright side they are made with wheat flour & are low sugar... lol but xtra calories i didnt need all the same...( i didnt eat all of them but more than i should have) Am i diet programed? i woke up this morning with a queasy stomach (the gingersnaps perhaps???) and i am thinking "good i wont want to over indulge") lmao ~ my thoughts this morning? I am gonna be 225 by valentines day... even if i have to lop off an arm (just kidding) ~ |
ah Curly..... you absolutely kill me with the things you say.....LMAO!!! attacked by a tin of gingerbread cookies...hehe, I imagine the marshmallow staypuft man coming next....OH NO!!!
I know what you mean though....ds made a tray of reese's pbutter squares and they are just soooo good. My one consolation, is that I'm only eating the bottoms of them!! :D I bought some of the carb countdown milk, and boy is it good. Having it plain, I taste a difference than milk, but in a shake?...nope none at all, and I'm saving in calories AND carbs. I had to laugh, because I bought dh a latte machine for Christmas and now he's wanting whole milk to add to our assortment of.....2% (for the boys), new carbcountdown (for me), a half a jug of skim milk to use up still and now the whole milk for his latte's!!! THATS A LATTE OF MILK!!! :D I should think I will stop with the skim now though, as there's no room in the fridge. hehe |
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas PICs! What a great group you all are!
We had a true candlelight service at church last night because the power was out for most of the time. It was kind of nice. Today we are having company for Christmas dinner and it is great to have DD here to help me.:) Tomorrow it is back to reality! zoey |
bye bye to all the goodies
no no no.... the staypuff man cant come after me i am shutting the door as of----> right this moment!!
and those snappy ginger snaps... will be residing at my dads house tomorrow... not gonna give them another chance at snapping into my tummy! Yep bye bye to all goodies tomorrow.. tho i really didnt over eat today.. but i did have some things i really didnt need to be eating....... but the gym is open tomorrow and... tomorrow i get back on program BIG TIME! dont wanna have to hack off my arm come feb 14th... hard to type with one hand! todays calories>>>> 1703 |
Awwww curly, and we don't wanna see you hack off your arm!
Well, I didn't have tooo terrible of a day either. I had to work this morning... and boy were we busy. The only store for 60 miles open ;) I like the Holiday morning shifts tho.. everyone is sooo happy. No goodies there today lol because there was no time! Here at home we did have chips and dip. NOT GOOD, but I feel like at least I was in control a little bit. I didn't eat a whole bag. I tried to hang out around the poached salmon instead lol. We leave for Denver Thursday and I think I'm gonna be to nervous meeting all his family to eat to much... (You know, I don't want them to think my weight is because I just eat too much ;)) My boss got me a $50.00 gift certificate for the gym!!!! According to the girls at WW, the gym is way overcrowded with 'resolutioners', so I'll probably wait until Feb to use it. Hopefully I can get the the month without having to pay the "signup fee" too. Otherwise i'll have to just use it as a drop-in and i'll only get 5 visits instead of unlimited. I'll find out more at my next ww meeting about how it all works. In any case I'm excited about it. I'm hoping Lee will see it's good for me and we can figure out how I can keep going there. OR?? I won't like it and won't have wasted the $$$ to find out. B coffee L & S chips/dip/crackers/salmon D 4oz steak, 5 coconut prawns, broccoli, diet Dr Pepper S SF ice cream bar I'll be happy to have maintained this week. Anyhoooo... I'm happy to hear everyone sounds like they had a nice Christmas. Hope the feeling continues into the new year!!! :grouphug: D~ |
Iwmonn......Congratulations on making your challenge goal!!! woohooo!!!
You'll be fine in Denver...honest. My one tip for you, is to always be carrying a bottle of water with you. If you are visiting and going out and about....the waterbottle will be your best friend. Besides....It will give you an excuse to leave their company and go to the restroom!!!:D I hope everyone had a great day. I had an awesome day, it started out nice and civilized....the boys woke us up at 7 am. So a nice easy start to the day. Dh was listening when I said I was having problems with my CD player while working out and got me an IPOD !!! wooohoooo, he helped download tonnes of tunes and already today I braved the elements and went for a good 45 min brisk walk. YEAH!!! :drill: Tommorow is Dec 26th and ALL THE GOODIES HAVE TO GO AWAY as per Curly!!! No more snacking and happy finger foods!!!:D |
:drill: Tommorow is Dec 26th and ALL THE GOODIES HAVE TO GO AWAY as per Curly!!! No more snacking and happy finger foods!!!:D[/QUOTE]
SIR YES SIR!!! btw, thanks angel-eyes ;) I about gave up on the challenge, but that last minute 5 lb loss put me on the mark! I'm debating the next one.... I'll post it after my next weigh in on wed. nite. |
Hi PIC's! I hope you all had a nice holiday. I was only under my calorie limit of 1600 3 days this week. Although my weekly average was 1670 so it's not that terrible.
I did cheat on my dinner tonight. I stayed away from the pretzals, chips, cookies, biscuits, cranberry, pies & mashed potatoes. The only thing I really cheated on was the stuffing! I'd say all in all I did fairly well :) Sunday, December 25, 2005 B: Zone Bar (210) L: ½ cup eggbeater, 1 slice LF provolone, 1 slice rye w/LC cheese wedge S: ½ cup egg fu yong D: Turkey, stuffing, red cabbage, asparagus, 3 pieces of herring S: Turkey on low carb bread calories 2009 Exercise 2 mile WATP :carrot: |
Valerie....Great job resisting all those salty snacky foods!!! :carrot: I've been doing really well also, my temptations are sweets and not so much the chips etc. I've been allowing a small dessert square or a small pecan tart into my daily allowance. I've made it this far without a total scarfing of the entire tray!!!:D We had a nice baked ham yesterday with lots of veggies (spag. squash, gr.beans and carrots) mashed potatoes for the guys and white sauce for the ham (blech). I didn't even miss the potatoes!!!
Today I was up and went out to Target to get some of the half price decorations....what a zoo!!! Luckily I was home by 8:30am and managed to get a really good deal on a PC game for dh's birthday. It never stops I tell ya.....ds and dh bdays are only 1 month away!!! :dizzy: |
1 pound
Hi everyone!
Today was my weekly weigh in and I was down one pound. Actually 1.5 but the half doesn't count on the tracker! :carrot: I got a heart rate monitor and wore it at curves today. My heart rate was around 110 most of the time.. going to to as high as 130 briefly. I'm not sure if this is where I should be. I dont' think I could have been working any harder. I hope everyone had a great holiday! |
HA take that ginger snaps>>> 1.5 hrs of working out... too bad i have to work everyday or i'd stay that long everyday!
:cheer: thats awesome Val!!! |
Curly you are the work out monster! 1.5 hours is awsome! I only did 45 minutes at curves today and I was all alone! I think everyone else is still sleeping off christmas!
|
the place i go is like curves, but its called ladies workout express... and i was the only one there also!!! lol it has 24 stations.. im not sure how many curves has..
its funny i get there and kinda zone out.. then i'll ask one of the girls "how long have i been here?" |

|
Happy Tuesday everyone!....
Yeah, I guess life starts to get back to normal now. Dh left today for a 3 day trip and when he gets back late on Thursday....he's picking his parents up at the airport. Not sure if I'm ready for their visit, but it will be nice to see them. MIL has a gazzillion food allergies and she's already told me that first thing on Friday, we are heading to the natural food store,...Whole foods to get her food. Normally she brings a suitcase full but obviously she's getting wise in her old age!! :D We'll be eating just the bare basics of food....plain meat (no seasonings, no sauces, no coatings) and fresh steamed veggies...(thats great and okay with me!!) but dh finds it very monotonous. I will do her meats in another pan some of the time, as I get tired of it also. We'll see.... How is everyone doing? Goodies all gone? Presents all put away? House back to normal yet? hehe...not for me anyways. I am excited though...the gym is open today!!! yeah!! I got a couple of good walks in but thats about it. The weather here today is CRAZY!!!....going to be a high of 60F!!! :dizzy: Food journal for Monday Dec 26.... B: egg beater omlette, cheese slice, 3 sl shaved ham, protein shake (carb countdown) S: apple L: 1 C ww's lasagna, 2 tangerines S: south beach granola bar, coffee D: 2 pc french toast (egg beaters,cinnamon,2 lc whole wheat bread), low carb syrup, 3 sl turkey bacon total cal: 1308 44% carb/30% protein/ 24% fat 45 minute walk/run |
Hi PIC's,
I'm off work for a whole week!!! Yayyyy for that, but now I'm packing for the Denver trip. I don't have a thing to wear lol. Since I moved here, I have had absolutely NO reason to get dressed up at all. I've donated most of my nice office work clothes, and the ones I still have don't fit or are like WAY out of style lol... My black slacks, (the ones that fit), have pleats in the front and look ickky. *sigh*- but my black suede skirt fits again!!! Well I"ll make the best of what I have and hope they like me anyways ;). I get to buy some new dress shoes tho lol... So Anywayyyyyyy... i'm busy doing laundry, cleaning the fridge etc... yuk! Hopefully before the power goes out. It's raining nasty here, and it always goes out lol. My boss's husband got her a certificate to the gym too! We're gonna check it out together when I get back. I'm excited for the new year :ebike: :tread: Yesterday: B coffee/cream B 1/4 C trail mix S sm bag baked chips L 4oz chicken salad L 8 Kashi whole grain crackers D Bockwurst, sauerkraut, 1/2 red potato S 2T chubby hubby ice cream :^: Today I have been too busy to even finish my 1st coffee lol. Better get some breakfast. BTW, Anyone have a yummy recipe for the Birthday Brunch for Lee's dad on NYD??? Something impressive, but easy- since I'll be in someone else's kitchen ;) His dad will be 90, and is diabetic who has been having major problems keeping his sugars stable the last couple weeks.... so I'm thinkin' maybe our low carb/no sugar experts could probably help me out here? :grouphug: for now. You all have a wonderful day!!!! ttys |
Dee-try some ricotta pancakes. They went over well here with my parents and my mother doesn't normally like cheese.
I don't even know where to begin. We had our family Christmas yesterday. My prime rib turned out perfect although it was a little rare for my Dad's liking. My BIL made brussel sprouts with pancetta which were awesome and some mushrooms and the obligatory green bean casserole. I did roasted red potatoes. Even my sugar free desserts went over well. The big problem is that Kobe got really sick. He was throwing up all over the place. Then he was laying around, wanted to be in my lap. I was up practically all night with him. He was pacing, up and down off the furniture, groaning. We've been through this before so I knew he probably had pancreatitis. Took him to the vet first thing this morning, he's in the hospital until at least tomorrow. They haven't called to give me an update yet but no news is usually good news. Poor baby, he was so pathetic yesterday. I'm exhausted. I was supposed to have a personal training session this morning but she let me postpone it until tomorrow evening. I go back to work tomorrow, YUCK! My BIL and I gave each other exactly the same knife for Christmas. How funny is that? My brother gave me a "relaxation kit." I guess he thinks I'm too stressed out. Everyone liked the new couch. Got some good pictures. Maybe Curly can help me and I'll post one of me and the sick baby (since he was practically on top of me all day yesterday) :) Glad everyone else had a good day and stayed pretty much on program. I got on the scale this morning and it said 195. Oh well. Probably water. I won't stress too much over it. I have until Fri before I have to change my tracker anyway. |
sure just email it to me.. & i will post it for u when i get home from work...
poor kobe.. well thank goodness it wasnt "stomach bloat" |
oh Petra....I hope Kobe is all right. They are just like babies when they are sick aren't they? I remember one time when our dog Mindy got sick, she was listless and not like herself and she got up in the middle of the night and promptly ralphed a HUGE pile of ??? on our cream carpet. Turns out the neighbours kids fed her about a half a bag of BIRDSEED!!! not nice and not impressed!!!
Iwmonn.....Have a great time in Denver!! Don't stress....everything will be okay. Glad to hear that your suede skirt is now a 'wearable suede skirt'!!! I've been having a little problem with some jeans lately....mostly dh's hands fitting down them without any trouble!!! ;) hehe...I had to take in the waistband this morning, about 2" worth!!! Lets see him try THAT AGAIN!!! OKAY.....that might have been too much information!!! :D |
hey this is cool.. i didnt know that walmart offered this... u can pick any new songs u want on a cd and they wil burn it for ya... i made myself up one with all good walking songs on it... its kinda pricey tho ended up being like 18.00 for 1 cd, but all the songs are new releases...
eventually i want to get an mp3 player so i figure i can just transfer the songs to the mp3 player when i get one.. and in the mean time use the cd in my portable cd player (and i had a walmart gift card to use up) i hate the walmart that is local to me... but i love Target!!! lol |
~Petra & Kobe~
Petra & Kobe Christmas
|
Awww those pictures of Kobe are adorable! I hope he's feeling better!
I stayed within my calorie range today but could have made better choices. I also started Tae bo today and it was hard! There were a lot of parts where I was stopping and trying to figure out what they were doing in some of the multi moves. I did like the attitude of the DVD! I got it from netflix and it's called "Live" I wish I knew if there was an easier one I could start with. Dee dont' stress about the trip. You are a very likeable person and I'm sure they're going to love you! One tip the Denver airport is awfull. Last time I was there I had to stand in a 2 hour security line where everyone in the airport had to go through. And everyone had to take their shoes off. We missed our flight when going through there even though we were there 2 1/2 hours before our flight! So plan on being really early! I hope everyone else is having a good day! Tuesday, December 27, 2005 B: Zone Bar (210) S: 2 slices low carb bread, 2 slices LF provolone (170) S: No Pudge sundae cone (100) D: Sweet & sour chicken (pineapple, bamboo shoots) (220) S: No pudge cookies & cream (100) S: Brat, 1 slice low carb bread (290) S: Under 200 Calories 1453 Exercise 1 hour Tae Bo Live :carrot: |
awwww petra.... you n kobe!!! I hope he's feeling better. He probably hates having to spend the nite at the vets, as much as I'm sure you hate him having to be there. ~**sending get well soup bone vibes to Kobe**~. I can even see a little of the couch lol... it is nice! And it's nice to put your face to your posts now. Thanks :).
Yumm, ricotta pancakes sound good, but I'm thinking it's going to be more of a make ahead, lay it on the table buffet brunch. I'd love the recipe sometime tho. Val~ Thanks for the kind words. I'm just nervous about meeting his family, ya know? lol. I'll get thru it all just fine I'm sure. Glad you're liking the Tae Bo. I've heard of several good ones for beginners, but of course I don't know any of them lmao I went and checked out the gym today. It's pretty small, no showers, no locker room even lol... but it's all new, with cardio equip, and circuit equip, free weights and some great classes too- altho they cost extra :(. I told Lee that if they waive their sign-up fee of $100. (which I've heard rumors they will do for new people in Jan), then I'm gonna go for it. And if I stay with it for the month, I want to find a way to come up with the money for another month.... for however long it takes lol. He still thinks I'll give it up after a couple months, even tho he says he would love to see me stick it out. *sigh* History wil NOT repeat itself!! Now Curly~ ummm I know you are really into circuit training.... what exactly is it?? LOL.. I feel really dumb asking but I'm not really sure. I know it's all the weights equip, is it done in a certain specific order or something? ty B coffee/cream B salami/cheddar on 2 slices ww bread L carrots w/ranch dip L 6 Triscuits S Lays Potato chips :( (DH gently focused me to more carrots b4 to much damage tho) D Leftovers 1/2 C Stouffers Mac n cheese, bockwurst/sauerkraut, green beans S SF Klondike bar |

howdy girls,
Well.. we're leaving for the airport 1st thing in the morning, instead of Thurs. If we're lucky we'll get there and stay in a motel. It's raining cats and dogs. Hwy 1 heading towards the airport is already closed from a slide, with more slides probable. There are several other routes outta here, but they all are contingent on the various rivers not flooding, which is also being predicted. Sooooooooooo no weigh in wed. nite. I was really counting on that for the little extra ummppffff i may need. You all have a wonderful New Year if I don't get back to post before that..... Be safe and be good ;) Hugggssssss to everyone :grouphug: ~Dee |
Dee: what i do is very similar to curves, they have various machines that they adjust each day to vary the resistance and then each wednesday they have "boot camp" where they really crank them up.. they have 12 machines and jogging pads & exercise steps in between each machine
the workout is for 30 min.. but i usually go around a few extra times |
