Hi ladies,
OMG is it hot here or what? I can't even stand it. I had to go over to my house that I'm getting fixed up to figure out floor plans and what not and it was like a sauna, sweat was pooling up on my back. yucck and all the work men were like totally dripping. What a mess. Its to hot to even get much done. I think I am gonna go and hit the pool in a little bit if I have time. Hope everyone is staying cool. ttyl Jennie |
It's been ridiculously hot here too. I had a really busy day today. Had to go to the nursing home this morning. I go every other Tues. morning but I missed last time because I was at the refugee camp so I had extra to do. Then I had a full afternoon of patients--no surprises there. Then because I'm on this weekend for consults, I'm on all week for after hours urgent consults so I get this page at 4:45 for a substance abuse consult. These are not urgent consults so I call the floor to find out what the deal is--they want to discharge the patient so they want me to come in after work to do this consult just as a "convenience". Whatever!!! I tell them, that I have patients until 6:00 and then will have some paperwork to clean up, phone messages to answer, etc. and then I'll be over. It's at the hospital the furtherest away too. So I get there about 7:15 (not bad) and the patient is gone. They discharged him before I got there and never even bothered to call me or call the service and cancel the consult. Is that rude or what???? And then the nurse gets an attitude with me!! So I wasted about an hour driving around for nothing this evening. It's stuff like this that makes me want to leave this job.

how is everyone doing tonite? have we all gone south beach? lol I was a good girl today stayed OP.. got my exercise in ... eeee gads that dam TOM is back.. tho hopefully that is why the scale has been barely moving this past week 1 lb ... but im not gonna complain... thats one more gone!!! my pup has been havin troubles with his allergies today when we got back from our walk i had to dose him up... antibiotic, benedryl... today he had pulled out a big section of his fur from scratching..... poor thing he has flea allergies ... and he wears frontline.. but i guess a flea got him when he was outside ok im off to read some more south beach receipes.. p.s. Petra that was very inconsiderate and unprofessional of that nurse!!! :mad: |

Just wanted to say g'night to my PIC Divas. I'm still OP and feeling good about it. Nope, I'm not a South Beacher though. ;) I'm a sort of design myself Turtle. I like feeling motivated. I'm NOT losing weight, but still feeling motivated. I'll check back with you all in the morning. I'm a sleepy Turtle and just realized the movies I rented have to go through the slot TONIGHT, so I have to drive to the rental place. Wahhhh. See you all in the morning during "Internet Coffee." Girlfriend, we can have cawfee and tawk Dah-link.

Good Morning Partners!!
I tried to post last night but they had the site down. I only have 2 more days of my work week. YIPEEEEE M had swim lessons last night and we stayed for open swim. She let me go to the water exercise class. That class does not look as hard as it was. LOL We had a good time last night. She found a friend she knew from gymnastics at the pool... that really helped. LOL Someone said how kewl it was that M was part of my exercise. Since this is a true lifestyle change and she is a big part of my life...I need to include her. I am also teaching her the benefits of exercise. She told me last night at the pool, I "needed" to do my laps so I would lose weight. LOL I told her I did the class..she said no, mommy laps would be better. She also will ask me how many points is in a food. I am hoping I am teaching her to eat better. She is a snacker..I am trying to break that habit because I do think it comes from boredum. She will pick fruit and veggies over most foods...but she loves croutons with ranch dressing. She eats them like chips. YUCK!! She loves salad too. Hotcup: if you continue doing what you are doing...you will lose weight!! Our bodies just have to catch up! Great job on the bike ride. It is my favorite exercise. M is still learning to ride without training wheels so I haven't been able to take her on the trail here. She loves it...it is a very varied workout with hills, curves, tunnels and bridges. I need to teach her to go faster. LOL Curly: I am still doing WW. I have WI early this week. I doubt I will show a loss but who knows. LOL I gave up most of my pop when I had a bout of kidney stones. I am drinking 120-180oz of water a day. SO I get lots of exercise going to the potty at work. LOL Petra: Sorry about your "attitude" nurse. You would of thought they would of called you! Sometimes people don't think and have no problem wasting your time!!! I have a question for you..I hope you don't mind. My "girls" are hurting. Very tender to the touch, mainly around my arm side. Could this be the "bounce" factor when I am exercising?? I guess I really do need to invest in a better bra. I might try wearing 2 sports bras until I do. Momx3: How are you doing? I don't worry about getting into a bathing suit. People at the Y come in all shapes and sizes...especially during water exercise..so I say kudos to us!! We are moving...and that is what is important!!! I am hoping when I get back from vacation, I can clean dh's van. It used to be my van when M was younger. It is very dirty especially the back seat. LOL The caravan has built in car seats and M loved to eat breakfast in there on the way to preschool. No telling what I will find in there. I didn't clean it out when he took it over. LOL I owe it to him. Jennie: Was hot here yesterday too. Problem is... we don't have central air. Normally at night it cools off to make it comfortable to sleep if you wait until after dark. They laugh at me at work. I don't turn on the a/c. The heat doesn't really bother me because I grew up in Fla. I love fresh air and hate the a/c. Dh was hot last night but didn't want to go to the pool with me and M. SO I get to work out tonight while she is at gymnastics. Well gang, where are our missing members? L2L, Shala, Angeleyes, and I am sure I am missing a few..Where are you??? Post...to let us know how you are doing!! I am heading to work!! I am so busy!! I have to get every thing done by tomorrow. Hi ladies,
my day is pretty busy and chopped up today so I won't be able to get to the gym to work out in the A/C so I decided to get up early and do a tape at home. So at 7 in the morning, it was 80 degrees already in my house. I was a big old sweat bucket. but atleast I got it done. I don't know why but we dont' have even a fan in the living room where I do my work out. that might have helped a little, I kept taking water breaks in the kitchen to stand infront of the fan. My family is kind of funny, they we only have little fans and not even in every room. I don't mind the heat, I just hate to sweat so much that I am totally drenched. Yuck! Anyway, I've been staying on point lately. I had chinese food so the scale is up but I"m sure that is water weight and I have probably sweated a lot of that out already today. I went to my "foot pain class" yesterday and had a cortisone shot done in one of my feet. I came home and kept it elevated and iced the rest of the day. They told us 1in 5 have a reaction and it hurts worse the next day. Well guess what?? Yes I am special. ;)

Good Morning Children
I'm cleaning house wearing my pj's and a black doo rag, a sight to behold fer sherrrr :lol: But I can see the wooden surface of my computer desk! Okay, okay, yes, the clothes basket is STILL full of the junk removed from the desk. And YES it's been that way for well over a week. Sigh... but I'm trying!
I'm going to do that old WATP DVD again today (by myself this time) and after work it's cardio. I don't know if it will be on the treadmill in the office gym, on the outdoor walking track, or if I can be snuck into the INDOOR walking track. We shall see. Weather will be the deciding factor. I decided to do cardio (or aerobics) Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays and weight lifting (or weight training) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. But so far it's worked out that it's cardio EVERY day and weight training every other day. Too much is always better than not enough, I guess. I almost didn't lift weights because I called home to get my messages and found that either my answering machine was off or my electric was off. My coworker forced me to do a weight circuit despite my concerns (thanks man) and when I came home I found out that Elvis (my senior citizen cat) had unplugged my phone by claiming my tall filing cabinet and knocking a rubber turtle onto the phone connection (unhooking it). As well as knocking everthing ELSE off the cabinet and breaking some knicknacks. BAD KITTY! :devil: Tonight it will be cardio and then grocery shopping on the way home. There's something cool about grocery shopping at one-thirty in the morning. Yeah, something cool:mag:. When I figure out what it is, I'll let you know. LOL Mom: Sorry about your foot. I hope you get a handle on that. No good when your tootsies won't cooperate. We need them healthy for so many reasons. Petra: Try to keep cool in this heat and I'm sorry folks are so inconsiderate these days. Pick up a phone! It's not hard. What did their mother's teach these people? Jennie: It may be gross, but all that sweating is going to pay off for you. Hey, just a thought... But put a BIG fan in there. :lol: Lisa: Great job on the swimming. Any progress on that broom trip? I'm still waiting! Curly: Take care of that pup. And keep up the great work. Anyone else I missed? I'll probably catch you all from work. |
Lisa-I know you had a hysterectomy but I don't know if they took your ovaries too. Your pain could be from exercise but for most people when their breasts hurt it is hormonal.

Where did all the PIC Chicks go?
I did some real cooking tonight for a change. I made beef stroganoff without the noodles. It was pretty good. It's a Dana Carpender recipe. For all those trying out low carb-she has several low carb cook books. Mom-I know you said you don't like to cook. She actually has one cookbook of 15 minute recipes and one of slow cooker recipes I think. I recently ordered her smoothie cookbook. Some of her recipes will be too high in saturated fat for South Beach but you could substitute some of the ingredients, other recipes would be fine. Hope everyone is doing well. I plan to hit the sack early tonight. A yellow lab I know didn't let me sleep well last night. If he starts up again tonight with his whining he's going to end up in his crate! |
i just walked 2 miles in 25 min...... or a 12.5 min mile... pretty dam good for a 44 year old that is a 100 lbs overweight and asthmatic!!! wooooo hooo :cheer: worked out tonite... then cme home and made beef and brocoli.. I thickened the broth with wheat flour and ate it w/o rice even tho i had bought brown rice... u know i didnt even miss the rice..

Hello my friends !! Just past 8 pm here and this is the first chance I have had today to read the posts. Been real busy at work, now that I think about it I didn't even take a lunch break. Oh well, makes the day go quickly !
Sounds like everyone is having really hot weather. i think summer is just starting to hit here, we were around 24 today, which is around 78 F, so probably not as hot as what the rest of you are experiencing. Things are going okay with my program, although i have been totally unmotivated to record my points for the past week. i really need to get back to it, or decide to change over to the core program. Looks like the group has started to thin out again; however, there seems to be a few of us that post everyday. I hope we haven't lost our regulars :( Mom, Petra, Lisa, Jennie, Curly, and HotCup ~ I am so glad that you are all here with me.. you are making this a very enjoyable journey !! It is late!! I am beat! This really working at work is going to kill me! My back is hurting from sitting at my desk. I prefer to move around so today after work..I went to the gym..did the ellipitical only for 45 minutes..Then came home ate dinner, then mowed the lawn.(I have a big yard), then pulled weeds for 1-1/2 hours, gave M a bath, put her to bed, and worked on my part time job. My life is way too busy! Anyway tomorrow at 4:30pm MDT..I will be officially on vacation!! Just so you know I won't have internet on my trip. Taking my laptop but I doubt I will get a connection.I am going to WI tommorrow night then home to pack..I haven't done any of it yet. Food was good today, water was excellent, and I did have tons of exercise... I am hoping for a little loss. Send the skinny fairies!!!!! I am heading to bed but will address everyone in the morning. Petra: my girls feel better today..I wore 2 bras to work out in. LOL I don't think they took my ovaries.. and I surely don't want to go to the gyno..spent way too much time in the strups. Good Morning Ladies
I'm really stiff this morning (for some reason). I didn't sleep well. There was a car wreck near my house (I have a police scanner), a skunk in my back yard and a yowling cat in my house. I was wondering if the little bit of weight lifting I did Tuesday night caused my stiffness, but I'm leaning more towards hormones because my fingers are stiff and my weight is up. I've been on target, so I'm guessing with the water retention, and since the calendar agrees with me, it must be PMS week.

I hope you're doing okay. I noticed our thread thinning out too. I wish we all stayed and our WEIGHT was what thinned out. I hope everyone comes back real soon. We need all the PIC Chicks we can lean on. Recording everything I eat (& my points) is one of my daily goals. It's tough, but I really feel it helps hold me accountable.
