  • weigh in day for me tomorrow- every Tuesday... kinda nervous because this is the 4th week that I've been dieting and I'm not seeing a big change this week (as I have in the past- total 11.5 lbs lost in 3 weeks)- I know it's normal, but still... I weighed myself at home this AM naked and I weighed 187. So I'm hoping for somewhere like 190ish with clothes on tomorrow. that will be 3 lbs lost this week.

I've been doing the low carb thing- 40- 60 carbs a day.
today for breakfast I had a carb control yogurt
    snack- pepperoni and string cheese
lunch 3 slices deli ham and 1 piece of cheese
    snack- 1 green pepper
supper- lasagna- low carb noodles and lc spag sauce (like 49 carbs though total)
    snack- more veggies

I like to treat myself about once a week to pasta. but I eat good the rest of the day. we used to eat pasta- some kind of it- at least 3-4 times a week before I started LC'ing.
  • Weigh in Day

My breakfast today: low-fat bran muffin, coffee

Dinner: Soup, chicken, veggies, low-fat cookie
    Water: 9 glasses
Exercise: 30 minute walk after breakfast

  • Monday check in/weigh in
    Hi,

I'm not following any strict diet plan. I followed Atkins/protein power for a while and what feels good to me now is this:
No sugar or refined carbs, no potatoes, I'm trying to cut back on my unlimited fat habit and watching my calorie count using fitday.com keeping to under 2000 calories. I've been taking in about 1500 but 2000 is my limit, a "bottom line".
I haven't exercised much in the past few years and I'm starting to walk and am planning to start going to the local YMCA.
I've lost 2 lbs. this week

13 lbs. to go before Christmas!

I'd had a 2 week plateau so I'm pretty happy about this loss.
Thanks for setting this challenge up, Dena. I've been posting on the daily check in thread and this challenge is providing me with a valuable mini goal.
Good Luck with your progress, everyone!

  • Hello to everyone,

I would love to join the Merry Christmas Challenge. My goal is to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. I'm not on any specific diet plan. I'm just trying to watch calories, eat healthy foods and cut out all the junk food and sweets. I've been walking for exercise, but I plan to start using an exercise bike this week.

The longest journey begins with one step,
    Flora
  • Hi Florafae:

  • Good Morning, Everyone!
Today I go to the dentist. Yowsers. In any event, only 5 more days until weigh in. And I still have 8 lbs. to lose in 7 weeks. Better get cracking on burning more calories. That seems to do the trick for me.
    So far today:
    Breakfast: waffle, coffee
Lunch: hamburger patty, veggies and 6 low-fat cookies!
    Dinner: chicken and vegetables, roll
    Water: 9 glasses
Exercise: 30 minute brisk walk and 1 hour on the treadmill to make up for my screw up at lunch
    Have a great day, eveyone!
    (Hugs),
    Dena
  • The post with 3 lbs lost is incorrect for me I wish so! I only lost 1/2 a lb this week. so down to 193 even and I want 185 by Christmas.... so still 8 lbs to go!

BUT on a good note- if you factor in my Body fat % then I lost 2.1 lbs of Body fat this week- so that means I must have gained 1.5 lbs of muscle?

I know I'm "tighter", but thankfully I don't really have to beg for a massage from Chris at night!

Good work everyone! keep it up!
  • Good Morning, Everyone!
Another day closer to weigh in day. That's what motivates me... knowing weigh in day is around the corner and reporting my journey (progress or stumbles) to all of you. Wnenever I get stressed. I notice I start to overeat. I'm so proud of me that this time after eating 6 low-fat cookies and ready to just blow it, I stopped the cycle by getting on the treadmill for an hour. To me, that's success. I really want to keep this challenge going and lose another 8 lbs. by Christmas. I know we can do this together.

KandiceA, congratulations to you for losing 1/2 lb this week and 2.1 lbs. of body fat. That means you are losing inches!!!! Woo Hoo!! I reluctantly changed the chart that said you lost 3 lbs., because losing 2.1 lbs of body fat is equal to that in my mind! Keep up the great work! We are all proud of you.

This is what I did today:
    Breakfast: low-fat pumpkin muffin, coffee
    Snack: apple
Lunch: hamburger patty, cooked veggies (no butter), rice crackers
    Water: 9
Exercise: 30 minute brisk walk, 48 minutes on treadmill, 20 minute walk after dinner

    Good luck, everyone.
    (Hugs,)
    Dena
  • Thanks Dena,
I am definitely losing inches, I know. When I got weighed/ measured on 10/26 for my monthy I had lost 10 inches and 11.5 lbs. (so now 12 lbs since 9/28)

Grand total from when I started Curves on 6/30/04 I've lost 28.5 inches and 11.25 lbs.
    YAY!

Congrats everyone on your continued losing! keep it up!

PS I treated myself to 1/3 of a bag of popcorn today- the no salt no butter kind- 16 carbs, man was it worth it! I gotta find something else to eat today- I only have 34 carbs on the meal plan for today and I'm supposed to get at least 40. maybe I'll put some cheese or something on the stirfry and up the count a bit more.

    carb control yogurt for breakfast-3
    popcorn for snack-16
LC wrap and 3 slices of turkey- 12
    pepperoni slices for snack-0
kielbasa and broccoli and Green pepper and onion stirfry- all free foods! 0 carbs
    sugar free popsical for snack-3

I need to go workout- didn't go yesterday because I was working through lunch when I usually go and didn't go at night because "I was too tired" and then today I did some errands at lunch time- Chris needed some brake pads and they close at 5pm, I needed to go to CVS and food lion... I need to go tonight to workout!!
  • Hi to all,

I agree that knowing I'm going to report on check-in day is a great motivator. As my (lean) family munched away on leftover Halloween candy last night, I was sorely tempted to join them. Then I thought about my Christmas goal and weigh-in on Monday, and I fixed myself a cup of delicious herbal tea (peppermint) instead. I went to bed feeling great, not guilty. Thanks for starting the challenge, Dena.

    One day at a time,
    Flora
