Thumbs up

Good morning,

Marti - hope all is okay with your FL family... have you heard anything yet?

Shanna - so are you going to share the scrapbook pages you just finished? I'd love to see them.....

Julie - hope you saw the correction post above about the inches off my thighs, lol. I'm such a doofus sometimes. Core is not for me! Some people just love it, and feel freedom with it, but I felt just the opposite and am happy it's over.

Susan - you're welcome for the card.... it's good to see you again.

Cristi - after I visited with my sister, I didn't really do much worth reporting, either. Sometimes I think I'm boring everyone here to tears with my mundane life. How's DSs finger? Better, I hope.

Mindee - hope your little one and DH both start feeling better soon. Yay for you getting the water instead of ice cream. That had to be hard.....

Jen - where are you? I bet you're at the new neighbors' house drinking Harvey Wallbangers, lol.

Hi also to Angie, Sue, Katiecat, Barb, and anyone else I may have missed.

I'm down 2 1/2 more pounds, which feels really good! Glad to be back on Flex again, lol.

Not much going on today... bbl,

I'm an early bird today! I woke up in a cold sweat over DS' first soccer game, so I just got on up. he has his very first ever soccer game next Saturday and DH and I each have mandatory committments, his is pretty much all day, mine in the afternoon. Well, no one can tell us when this game is?! So I'm freaking out a little. Worst case scenario...Grandma takes him to his game, and we are just going to have to live with the guilt that we missed out kid's first game,

Mindee - Yay on resisting the evil ice cream! that's a hard one, for sure. We have a neighborhood ice cream and candy store that is such a temptation...but I only succumbed once this summer. I have to agree that breastfeeding, if you can get it going, is a better option. Sometimes if you consult a lactation specialist, they can get your milk going again after an absence. You have a system that is working well for you and Brandon, so I just put it out there as something to mull, really. BF is for sure cheaper and more convenient! I have a friend who is an adoptive mom and was able to nurse. Congrats on your loss

Jana - Bet you are glad to be back on Flex! At least you tried Core before making up your mind. Yay for your loss!

Susan - so glad to see you check in! I love margaritas..I would have been so loopy I WOULD have walked back and forth all night! One of your daughters starts middle school next week, right? Rebecca? Cant remember... Is she excited. A new school is pretty exciting

Marti - Hope your FL relatives are okay. My cuz is in central Florida. They were spared from the worst of Charley; they only had to drink bottled water for three days - their power didn't even go out. She said her house is built to withstand 110 mph winds, so we are just crossing our fingers and checking weather sites off and on today.....

Later...
Katy

I wish I had been at the neighbors drinking! It has been a horrible week. My poor cat that just had her teeth pulled went into renal failure after surgery. She's been in the hospital on IV fluids for 2 days to find out if it's chronic, and the surgery was just enough stress to bring it out, or if it's acute and reversible because she was in so much pain and didn't eat or drink. Last night after work, she still wasn't eating or drinking, and still very lethargic. It doesn't look good. Today they are going to draw blood and recheck her kidney function, then I have to decide if I should have her put to sleep, or if she's showing improvement and can fight for awhile yet. My poor ole girl. She's only 11. That's really not that old for a cat.

My boss is also a nutball. Before all of this developed with my cat, I talked to her about stress from the job, anxiety, nausea all the time, can't eat, etc. She tells me that "This job isn't for everyone" and maybe I should try "a little xanax and a glass of wine." She's done quite a few other inappropriate things lately, so I took part of her advice. Got another job. She's going to crap when I give her notice on Tuesday. I applied for this job on Wed, interviewed yesterday afternoon, and was offered the job last night. Did I mention there was a nursing shortage? I've joked around that I could quit my job today and have another one tomorrow, but I didn't think it was possible. I told the new boss that I wanted to think about it for a couple days, just because it seemed to go so fast. I just want to make sure I make the right decision. But I've already made up my mind. It's completely different and should be alot less stress. It's back to working in a nursing home. I did that like 8 yrs ago. 2nd shift, 2-1030, 4 days a week. Completely different than managing home care, and I think that may be just what I need right now. Funny thing, the pay is almost exactly the same, a difference in cents. I'm going to enjoy typing up my resignation letter this weekend. I'm also going to enjoy watching her reaction. That is going to be quite enjoyable! I may go into work early on Tuesday to talk with the President of the agency and give him a copy of the letter before she even gets in. She's been known to talk out of both sides of her mouth. I'd like to be one step ahead of her!

Well, I have to go. I'd like to get a few things done this morning before I find out anything about Angel. I may not be able to do anything later.

Jen

Jana~ Actually it really wasn’t that hard of a choice. Yes I did want an ice cream, but just getting off the scale and seeing the loss, I wanted to keep it off and loose more. So I knew it would be better for me to have a water instead of an ice cream. They are doing okay….I guess. I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat but I am chalking that up to my hubby giving me a kiss on the lips before he went to bed. Brandon has his cough and a runny nose again. My hubby has a scratchy throat and who knows what else.

Kate~ Surprisingly I was up early this morning as well. It didn’t help when the phone was ringing non-stop either! When I had Brandon, I never was consulted with a lactation consultant. And I am sure I would be breastfeeding now, if I had! There were a lot of things that didn’t happen that should of….but we won’t go there. I have to admit, I succumbed to the evil ice cream place, I think twice this summer. That is awesome about your friend being able to nurse. I was watching “A Baby Story” yesterday and the couple needed a surrogate to have a baby, and the woman from the couple, was able to start producing before the baby was born, so she was able to nurse.

Jen~ I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope things work out for the best.

It's almost noon and I thought I would stop in and say hello before I left.

Susan--Jhanai starts school on Tuesday. Very excited. Are your girls excited about going back? She's wanting to join the Choir again this year..and I hope she does. I love to hear her sing up there on stage.....gives me such a proud feeling!

Mindee--Hope your son & DH start to feeling better. Make sure you don't get sick too......drink your water and take your vitamins!

Jana--I haven't heard anything yet from my sister or brother. My mom did tell me that my sisters DH was in the hospital because of a hernia! I hope he's out and getting ready to steer clear of the hurricane! I will have to make some calls today.

Katy--My sister was told to evacuate w/Charlie...but it wasn't a mandatory thing in her area.....they just did just in case, and ended up driving to where it was more devastating! I'm the oldest of all my siblings....and just sitting her not knowing.......driving me crazy!

Jen--Sorry to hear about your cat. She must feel awful. Glad you got another job. There is a nurse shortage in our area too. (I believe it's everywhere isn't it?) I have a friend who is going through the nursing program at school right now....and I think that's a perfect job for him.

Well TOM is here, and for some reason I decided to WI...even though I usually skip during this time. I'm still at 145. I'm pleased. So maybe I might see a dip next week??? I hope so. I'm hoping with this new job that I will see more of a diffence since I won't be sitting around doing nothing all the time.

I don't have plans for the weekend. James is still in Portland, not sure when he'll be home. My sister is gone camping and Jhanai is doing something with her dad. I'm all alone. So I'm hopping over to grandpa in hopes that he's home. If not, I'm picking more flowers and heading home to read!

I'll check in later
