Spryng--I'd love to chat, so I'll look for yall around 10 Central, right?
Leigh--what? You're not going to drive 9 hours out of your way to see meeeeeeeeee? I have to say that avatar of Liam is beyond adorable.
Jaymi--don't be knocking these Texas beaches...we like what we can get. Honestly I'm not familiar with N. Padre...but S Padre is nice as far as being clean goes. I've been all along the gulf of FL and on the Atlantic too and they all seem about that same. Hubby thinks they all stink pretty much but he lived in Panama for almost 2 years so he's a bit biased as to what the beaches should be like. And Spryng gave you such good advise...I know it's hard, I'm off right now too...but Spryng's words hold such truth and value. You are worth making good choices and taking care of yourself.
Michelle--I'm so sorry to hear about the deal with you MIL. I'm not terribly close to my MIL but we get along well when we are together. She's a really nice lady but honestly I don't know her that well. My step MIL on the other hand is a hoot. We get along really well too.
Oh I love red beans and rice too. We use the Mahatma and turkey smoked sausage and I always make mexican cornbread.
Ok...it's shower time here so I'll check in with yall in a bit.
OH Spryng, I was walking here at the track last night and these two older teen girls were walking and talking. I was behind them and could hear their conversation. Anway they were talking and one was like "Yeah, but the only happy marriages that I know of, where they are really happy the guy is a truck driver...he's never home so they really like each other when he is."
For the ladies who are talking about kids hair cuts. I wish I knew a place. I took my 7yr old daughter to get a hair cut and they charged me $20 and my 10 yr old daughter they charged me $15 just to wash and blow it out. This is crazy to spend so much on there hair.
Michelle- sorry- guess I was writing when you posted. OMG! I can't believe this because one of my friends and I talk about this all the time. Her in-laws always act like her husband should be constantly praised just for being a husband or father. Meanwhile, whatever she does is seen as merely part of who she is and not in need of support. Her husband is very supportive of her - to them too. Anyway, I'm glad DH did come to your defense. Please do not let them make you feel like a bad wife or mother . . . maybe MIL got a little envious when she saw how much of a family you were with her son, and how you and the girls are now his priority. Sometimes mothers forget how to let go, or aren't as graceful at it as they could be. Perhaps she felt like DH was no longer her little boy, and was gone to you now. Not that I'm making excuses for her behavior, just showing you it's less a reflection of you than it is of her.
Leigh, dinner sounded so good!!!! I keep looking at Liam's pic, he looks so happy!!!
Michelle, I'm so sorry you had a terrible night with the OUT-laws....It's unfortunate, she was the one who told you to do nothing bcause she wanted to help. Jeeezzzzz. I hope you feel better now.
Oh, I forget who asked, but SNAIL mail is regular mail that comes to your house. They call it snail mail, bcause it takes so long to get there; unlike email which is instant.
Munequita, I live in Jersey also, where do you live about? County? I'm in bergen. Grew up in Hudson. If you can find a Super cuts they're cheap.
Hope all of you are having a good night. check in in the a.m.
Isn't Hair Cuttery supposed ot be cheap for kids too? It's similar to Supercuts. I don't know for sure, though, because I haven't had to cut Liam's hair yet
Munequita- are you new? I haven't introduced myself yet- I'm Leigh - nice to meet you. What type of diet are you following? I'm on Weight Watchers
Mel- have a great night. I think this is my last post for the eveing as well.
Leigh --I keep forgetting to tell you how much I love that pic of Liam he is to cute.I just can't remember when any of mine where that little.Enjoy him while his small Dinner was really yummy I added bacon and cheese to the burgers.I just wanted something bad for me I guess lol But it tasted sooooooo guuuuuuud.
Jae-I love the pic of your new baby also.I think all mine was that size when they where born.I had 2 nine pounders and an 8 pounder.I always wanted a little baby.Glad to hear he's healthy.
Munequita-I like your name it's different and different is good. Welcome to the thread by the way.
Spryng-How are ya?My day was boring.Took dh to the doctors played with my 4 yr old and cleaned alittle then played mom when the kids got home. That's about it.I'm hoping that dh will join us to the ymca.We have one about 10 minutes from the house and it wouldn't take long at all to get there. Then maybe I could get motivated to get back on the right track.
girls-Thanks for letting me know what snail mail is.That makes since.
Good night gals.
Hope everyone has a good one. I'll check in in the morning, but after that will be busy, busy, busy. School, then run errands and clean mom's house.
I hope all of you had a great day. Tomorrow is dh's last day with me. Of course, he has to work so we'll enjoy tomorrow night as our last for a while. I know those of you that live often w/o dh is laughing at me, but this is so out of the ordinary for us. Don't get me wrong and don't tell anyone....but I'll enjoy alot of it. SHHHHHHH!!!!
TTYL
Hey girls!! I am sooooooooooooooooooo sick of school. It is a good class but very feminist and I feel like I am looked down on because I enjoy being a stay at home mom. My teacher has never had kids and she was spouting off about how women shouldn't take time off work to be pregnant because it is not hard! I know! I didn't say anything because by the time I had processed what she had said it was too late. I was pretty fired up about that. There are also a few women in there that obviously signed up so that they could flaunt all their knowledge that they have gained in college cause they won't shut up!!! So annoying! Anyway I got all my homework for tonight done yesterday so I could have a night off! So I can sit and talk to you all!
Michelle first of all...................WHAT!!!! You were so excited to have them come and it turned out like that!! That really sucks! I guess it is good that they don't live close! That sounded really hard to go through. I'm sorry! Thanks for the postcard though! It made my day! You are so great!
Sorry I am not writing to anyone else I am so beat and their were 4 pages to rifle through! Michelles drama stuck out to me so I had to comment. Anyway I still need to grocery shop (can you believe that!!) so I need to get my list done. Hope you all have a great night. I will be back on after I get back from the store so I hope you are all still up. TTYL!!
Just little ole me again, lol.. One last post and then I'm heading to the chat room.
My evening has been uneventful. Watched Big Brother and was appalled at the outcome, I mean I like Marvin alot and am glad he stayed but that was terrible of the twins to do. I really dislike them now and hope they both get put up this next week.
Other than that I played some gamecube with the kids and relaxed some.
Jill, I would be sick of school too with class mates and such like you are having to deal with. One more day huh? You can do it!
Crystal, I hope you and dh really enjoy your last day together and make it special. I am hope the week flies by for you.
Angel, did you get to the ymca? Sounds fun!
Cheri, dh has a cousin who is married to a truck driver and they are that typical couple. They only stay married because he is gone alot. When he was out of work for 7 months this past year they were on the verge of divorce and he moved out and everything! But then he got another job and she had him move right back in and everything is honkey dorey now. It's irritating to watch but it works for them.
OK, have a great nights sleep all and I hope some of you join me in that chat room! TTYL!
Well I made it through the day without too much damage. That lasagna soup was great! Kids had seconds and thirds!! I ate the soup and some bread, which was probably the worst thing I ate today. So I am pleased! I also had 4 16.8 oz bottles of water, which was great for me!
I got the kitchen done, gave the kids baths twice after Christian wore his soup bowl as a HAT I read them 3 books and got all the homework done and papers signed. But I am having to get them up even earlier, so I will have to get to bed soon. I am getting to where I can't stay up late anymore, but I guess getting up at 5:45 will do that to a person.
I had a parenting class last night and our group leader asked what our rules were in our home...I couldn't think of any. So today I made some up, LOL!! Not that we didn't have any rules, but I am creating routines for the first time in a long time, and making all of us stick to them. Those "routines" are other people's rules. Rules just sounds so harsh in comparison. Does anyone even understand what I am babbling about??? The class is about reality discipline and so far I really am learning alot and enjoying it.
Jae, it's good to have you here! I am Cindi, mom to 7 kids! The earliest was born at 36 weeks, so I know how scary that must have been. I have had c-sections and VBAC and I really prefer having the c-section. They scheduled mine, and honestly the first one hurt way worse than the others. I was myself in a couple of days with the later ones. However, with so many kids, what choice did I have?? I even delivered Logan vaginally and he was BREECH...now that was scary. Especially when the majority of the staff came to watch as they had never seen a vaginal breech birth before Anyway...your baby is gorgeous!!
Geri!!!!! LMAO I love you girl!! BTW thanks so much for the card it definately brightened my day
Infact I love all you ladies but you all know how incredible you are already Its good to be back.
I must come to my FIL's defense however because he was sticking up for me and thats actually how the whole mess started, she got mad at him for it and I overheard it oh well water under the bridge. But thanks so much for the support I love you all!!
Jill so glad you liked the postcard How is school?
Spryng I can totally relate now with the MIL problems, I used to adore my MIL, sure she is a bit rough around the edges but I can deal with that, but this last incident has totally soured my relationship with her for awhile, I'll try and work on it once the bitterness passes and perhaps we can mend whats been broken. I'm sorry I missed chat hubby and I got a babysitter, a girl I work with, and we went back to the fair just the two of us and mended my wounded heart with some good quality time.
Penny Thanks so much for the note girl!!! omg and Taylor LOVED the bag and the card!!! She saw the teddy bear on the card and went and got a beany bear and put it and the card in the bag and was carrying it around!!! I got a picture but I'll have to post it later cuz I'm beat!!
Leigh, I know what you are saying about letting go...I definately think that she is just holding on to the past and him being a little boy. She's just going to have to let go and let us live our lives. She also needs to realize that we dont NEED her for anything, but we would like to have her as part of our lives but without the controlling. I love that pic of Liam he is just adorable!!! PM me your addy so I can snail mail you
Ok girls its late and I know I've missed some of you but I am going to lay down because my stomach is turning from going on the carnival rides!! Hubby took me on all the scary ones!! He even won a rose for me and a scooby doo toy for taylor
