Well the leak is like someone turned the water faucet on full blast underneath the house. So if we were to keep the water on...I think there would be a mess down there! James said that one of the pipes busted.

Must go...still waiting for at least a call!!

Thumbs up

well, the day has gotten better! i made all three kids lay down for a nap, upon awakening they seemed better, even my daughter.

anyway, because of my binge, which is a history lesson and i am not going to dwell on it, i skipped dinner just going to consume h2o to flush out the sodium. tom the boys will be in preschool during the day and that will help with the stress. the type of preschool they are in runs all summer and then ends in feb. dont know what ill do then. of course daughter will be in school from aug - june and then 4 yr old will go to regular sch next fall.
anyway, im sure it will be fine.

ive been trying to get myself together so i can start selling my crocheted items on ebay. get some extra $$$$ for daughters meds.

thanks for filling me in on the kidney thing now i understand why the exercises would hurt. bless your heart. and bless the guy that donated you the kidney that is awesome.

well, guess ill go, ill try to check in, in the morning before the behavior management gets here.

trying to melt,
tj

Finally!! The plumber boys are here. Now, why couldn't they send a young handsome man to do the job?? Just teasing.....

I got another call for the OML job. They want me to fill another questionaire which is the next process to get the job. I'm excited. Don't know why since I've gotten used to the idea that my thighs are merging into one. But hey....maybe it's time to get up and seperate the two!

Ok...I'm being hollered at...and the dogs won't shut up....better get going.

I am craving something sweet like it's nobodies business. For some reason, sometimes after I eat a meal, I feel like I need some sugar. But not just a little, it usually turns into a full-on binge. I'm munching on some caramel corn rice cakes, but it's just not enough. Good thing I don't have any junk here!

Work was busy, but nice. The boss is gone. She'll be back Wed. I'll be gone Friday to an all day seminar. Only 2 days of her this week! Almost feels like a vacation!

TJ - glad the nap worked for your kids. Maybe you should make me take a nap. I'm feeling awfully tired today! Cheese and crackers sounds great. Glad I don't have any cheese here too!

Heather - I'm 5'9", give or take. Guess I've got a few on you! Wow, you have been through alot this year. I'm already proud of you! Tomorrow is my weigh-in day. Last week I was 153. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Marti - Hop on the Labor Day Race with us. First one to 140 wins! How is the water doing? I would go nuts. It's like the day I had an electrician out to replace the panel in the basement, and all day I kept trying to turn stuff on. It's amazing how dependent we are on the conveniences!

RK- CONGRATS on your 2 lbs! I'm hoping for something similar. I would tell you to do the opposite of what Angie said. I wouldn't return anything either, but I wouldn't say anything about the other being in town. I'd stay out of their business and remain neutral.

Jana - I'm glad that the fastfood places are starting to get a little healthier, in some respects. At least it's a start.

Jo - Like TJ said, the overeating is just a lesson, nothing more. Glad you had a good time though.

Well, my cats are already lining up and waiting for their treats. I give them whisker lickins at 9pm. They are pushing it! It's only 7:30! Guess they'll be waiting awhile.

And amazingly enough, my sweet craving passed! Thanks gals!

Hi;ladies,

My computer is sick and going "click, click, click" like it does when it has a virus, only I have Nortons! And it says No Operating System Found!! Anyway, I am using the computer from the dark ages in Katies room so this must be brief. I peron could break their leg or neck in here.

We took the twins to the fair, and had so much fun! I stayed op having only a hamburger and a hand full of cotton candy. I took pictures til my batteries went dead, and it was all good!

See you tomorrow!

Hey everyone ...back to give an update and try to do some individuals..

Thanks for all the advice about my friends, the "X"s. The heirloom in question is an article the XH's late mother wrote that was nominated for Pulitzer. Irreplacable, but only relevant to this conversation in that I felt it important to try to aid in its return. These two really have been good over the years about keeping me out of their strife. I also told XW that when I return it to XH that I would tell him she was back in town, but would not give out any other details. Honestly, I didn't think he'd want any details. So he calls me today and I tell him I have the article, which was found while XW was moving. "moving? where's she moving" then I proceed to get grilled...it was like twenty questions..all the while he's on a cell in his car with his current wife sitting right next to him...I was appalled. But I stuck to my word, I only gave out the most general info and told him the truth, that I was telling him only because if it were me and it was my X we were talking about, I'd want to know. Like Susan said, don't want to bump into them at Freddie's you know. So, hey, it's out there, I felt real uncomfortable, but it's done. So be it.

Rest of the day has been spent hanging out with the plumber. The good news is that we caught the leak before it did too much damage. We have these old galvanized iron pipes, so I just had the whole sink redone. Now we have to have a recovery service come in and dry things out so we don't get dry rot and mold. lovely. And expensive, I might add. I'm glad it's getting done, though. The pipes would have had to be redone in the remodel anyway, so this leaves us with one less thing to do in that bathroom when the time comes.

Jen- mmmm caramel corn rice cakes sound really good. i, too, just cannot keep sweet stuff around. Doesn't matter if it's lo-cal or not. It just flips some kind of switch. Sigh.

Marti - Keeping my fingers crossed on that job for you.... I think its great that you've broken through your plateau. My last plateau lasted a year. I was nursing DD and my weight would not budge at all. I guess the good part was I wasn't gaining, but the not losing was demoralizing. It's easy to just want to give up then. But you haven't and I admire your commitment. 2.5 hours to PDX....you must drive the speed limit heh heh

TJ - good job picking yourself up after a binge. Time to dust yourself off an just pick up where you left off. It does get better. I'm so glad you've joined our little group here.

Heather - you have had a heck of a year. I'm so glad you were able to get a transplant. I know people who have been on the list waiting for donors and it's a stressful thing.. so kudos to you for being such a strong gal!

Jo- I have so BTDT with the birthday thing My son wants the Chuck E Cheese hoopla this year. His birthday is in November and he's been talking about what he wants since Christmas! I really want to keep things kind of small, but it never seems to happen despite my best intentions. Both of my children have bdays around big holidays which of course adds to the chaos! I have to admit, it makes it kind of fun, too. DD's birthday is on Halloween, so picking a theme is easy!

Jana- congrats on another loss!

Thanks for all the encouragment, ladies. Hello to anyone I may have missed...

The X's don't share children? Doesn't sound like it. Anyway........BRAVO, RK!! you did a good job in getting the info out in the open.
Must be only natural for him to ask a bunch of questions. I would be curious where my ex was........lol......course that is just me.
Also, don't you think old feelings are bound to resurface knowing she is so close..............eeekkk......
You and Marti with the plumbers. Pretty handsome guys?? Les is a plumber......commercial, only deals with clean pipes. When I kind of was thinking there might be something there I mentioned him to Rebecca and she goes " what kind of commercials has he been on??"......she is so funny.

K- better get to work!

Oh my goodness....after filling out the questionaire I felt like an idiot!! There were 6 sections and it took an hour to do. Part of it was a IQ test.......at least that is what it sounded like....I felt very stupid once it was over. A lot of math questions, a lot of wording questions.....I felt like I was doing my SAT's!!

But it's over with and now I wait for the next phone call.

Quick individuals:

TJ--Girly, don't worry about the cheese and crackers. We all have our moments.....not to long ago I pigged out on popcorn and wine. Now isn't that combination?? But as for skipping dinner....you shouldn't do that...you should try and make it something healthy rather than skipping it all together. You could at least have some veggies or something. It would be much better than starving yourself. Advice from a friend of mine.....she's always watching over me!! (plus your body will love you for it! )

Jen--I think I will join you and the others for the labor day race! I have 6lbs. to go to get there, but it could go the other way for me. I have been at a plateau forever...I think for almost a year!! So I'm hoping it keeps going down rather than go back up. Anyway,,,count me in.

Jana--Your computer makes noises when it has a virus? I didn't know they did that. I've only had a virus once (or maybe twice) and it just drove me crazy not being able to use the computer. (I think I rely on this thing too much!)

RK--Drive the speed limit?! Well just so you know, my dd laughs at my driving sometimes.....she compares me to a grandma!! It may take me 4hrs to get to Portland!! But I have my moments of reverting to teenage years. Wait...I didn't ever drive in my teen years...I didn't even get my license until I was 28!!! Heaven forbid.......

Susan--My plumbers were not handsome. They were nice enough but not handsome. Very disappointed!

Heather--Wow girl....you did have one heck of a year. Well I'm glad that you are here and that you are able to come and share your time with us. Makes a person think about how much they should appreciate their bodies more....

hello to the rest of you gals!!

Well I better get going. James is on the phone yappin. He was suppose to leave this morning, then it was tonight at 8, then it change to 10, then mid, to 1 and then back to 10 and now it's back to midnight. Nothing like having a job and being on call! But that just means more time with me!! Boy, I think I got to stop being so clingy!

Take Care girls and good night!

MARTI: your are right I am watching over you. I am always telling you to not skip a meal. You may lose weight starving yourself, but once you start eating again, you gain it all back and then some. Mother hen am I , wish I could take some of my own health and eating advice. I am so bad. :-( Glad to hear your underground pool will be fixed soon. I hate when I have to call my landlord and wait an eternity to get things fixed and then have some incompetent boob make matters worse. Well, at least that is how my handyman works. Took us two weeks to get a clogged shower fixed and now we have a hole is the wall covered by a nicely laquered wood square screwed in on the opposite side of the shower wall. Just in case something happens again and they can get back into the wall. Very attractive, oh how I love the beauty of renting, throwing your money away and not being able to change things and such. Oh, went off on a tangent there, oops, were was I ??? hee hee
Susan: Yeah, another salt on the watermelon freak. I am glad I am not alone. ;-) You have never been to florence?? WOW, it has always been a stopping point growing up on the way to other stops on the coast, plus my dad grew up there after he moved from oklahoma. My family even has a street name after them when they moved from the okies. ;-) My parents just recently sold the homestead property, which was kind of sad. It was a nice piece of acreage on the coast. I remember camping there with my daddy as a kid and walking down the long path to the creek, Anyone Florence is kind of basic, not a real popular coastal destination, but definitely something to check out once. Old Town is cool ( bye the way Marti, we did look in the window of the old time picture place, byron thought the pictures looked cheesy, what a spoil sport) and the beaches are cool in florence, alot more sand dunes. so, when you get a chance check it out.
Jana: I now all about computers messing up, I can commiserate with you about that. I want to chuck my computer out the window every day it frustrates me so much. Someday I will be able to afford to get a new one that works right and isn't a pile of crap. It is sad how computers get slow and outdated so quickly. I hope you get your computer well and can get on here more freely.
Dolphin: I too crave sweet things every once and awhile and I usually do not have them in my house, so then I tend to grab others things instead. I am usually more of a salty snacker like popcorn, wheathins, peanuts, etc. But every once and while and FF fudgsicle or fruit popsicle or icecream sounds good. Good thing I don't carry those things in my house, but maybe I should keep something that is low fat and sweet just to stop the extra munching. It is hard. I do eat ALOT of fruit, I could live off fruit and veggies, I usually have about five pieces a day, but could eat more. I could never do that low carb diets. I need fuit, veggies and bread. However, I digress, I basically only meant to say I feel for you, I have been there. I guess I am just a chatter box tonight. ;-)
TJ; I am going to say what everyone has been saying. Don't beat yourself about about a little cheese and crackers. I relaly don't think that is bad at all. You could have tried wolfing down two cheesecakes, Twinkies, etc. If you get some good, low cal, low sodium crackers and low fat cheese, or a small serving of regular, you can not feel guilty. I am of the opinion that everything in moderation. I learn that from Weight Watchers. That is why i like that plan, it isn't a diet, but a another way of eating. You can have what you want, but in moderation. That is the best way for me to look at eating and diets and losing weight. So, chin up, don't beat yourself up about something small and know that no matter how far off the wagon you go, you can always go back on it. ;-)
Well to all the other ladies that I forgot what i was going to say to them, I will catch ya tomorrow or later and I hope that your tuesday goes great and the rest of the week as well. Chow for now.

Good Morning Ladies,

Susan - thanks for the angel reference on the word game ... devil would've been more accurate, tho, lol. You seem so happy... with your life, your kids and your job. I'm glad about that.

Shanna - I forgot to tell you what Bump is... it's when a thread gets pushed to the bottom of the list cuz nobody has posted anything on it. Then somebody else comes along and thinks it should be closer to the top, so they write Bump, and it goes to the top for awhile. I did that recently with the Acronyms list, for the newbies. Alas, I also have no money for a new computer. We are trying to put back all we can for the Disney trip in October.

TJ - I salt my watermelon, too. But not too much. Anyway, I feel like the water in it kinda pushes out the salt, if you know what I mean, lol. I'm with Marti - skipping meals is a no-no for me, anyway. That's been known to lead me to a binge. I started WW 1/24/04 and haven't skipped a meal yet. Had a couple extra ones, even.

Jo - Sounds like you had a really good time this past weekend with Daniel and friends. Thank you for your kind, inspirational words.

RK - YAY for the 2# down! Don't you just love WW?? I saw a cartoon that made me think of you and your fam. I think it was Hi and Lois, and they were building a fort for the kids... anyway, it was cute. I can see it now - a bumper sticker on all the cars everywhere: WWJLD? That was too, too funny!!!!!! Bythe way, I think you did the right thing w/ the xw and xh. Since the dish was so valuable, I'm sure he is very happy it got returned. But now, I'd follow Jen's advice and stay out of it.

Marti - glad you got the leak fixed! So what's the scrapbook trick??? I wanna know! Neal is my best friend, too, and I'm his. It's a good feeling, isn't it? Hope you get the job, and don't worry about the questionaire... you are a smart cookie and I'm sure you did fine.

Heather - so glad your church friend donated a kidney to you! What a saint!

Jen - good luck at weigh in, today. They say when you are craving sweets, to eat something sour, like a pickle. But personally, I don't want a pickle when I want sweets! So I eat FF frozen yogurt, chocolate Brownie Fudge Fantasy. But only 1/2 cup. It is super sweet and takes the craving away for me.

Well, I am up early because Neal is having a restless night. Poor baby! Rather than nudging him, I just got up so he can sleep, even if it is fitfull. I can nap later.

The computer turned on okay this time ... hoping Norton caught whatever it was. Can't be too upset about it.. pouting never did anybody any good and so I don't waste time on that.

Gonna go read in the peace and quiet...

BBL,

Default A quickie

Jana:I just had to say how much I enjoy your Avatar. It is so smile inducing. I had my sweetie take some pictures of me when he got up yesterday, ( which is real smart since i have been up all night at work and not looking my best, if there is such a thing) and I can't seem to get it as my avatar. I tried everywhich way, saving it as a jpeg, saving it as a thumbnail size, best for web size and everything comes back on jaded ladies as too big, and I don't have a good enough computer to download that site you gave to us. Oh well, if I knew a computer whiz I could try again. Anywho, I just had o let you know that every time I see you picture I smile.

HEy quick check in here:

Shanna - somewhere on this forum, Jana posted a free avatar resizer. Itried it and it works really well. You can find it by using the search function. WOuld love to see a picture of you

Susan - no they don't have kids, thank goodness. They are really nice people, but a terrible couple. His response to me was a little unsettling....My Dh said he thinks the news threw him a little. He's tried to forget his XW ever existed, but we all know how well THAT works! So, he got a little pi**y with me on the phone, and I was trying to do him a favor!

Jana - the heirloom was a newspaper article that his late mother wrote that was nominated for a pulitzer...so you can kind of see why I thought it would be a pretty safe thing to deliver from one X to the other... silly me. I am definitely returning to my former position of staying completely out of it... as far away as I can get.....Thanks for the kind words about my loss. I am loving WW - so much easier than the Zone!

Gotta go sneak in a shower before DH has to leave - be back later to chat with everyone else...
