SATURDAY POINTS: Julie :bravo: Amanda :bravo: Cat: Dirty Rice is a New Orleans favorite. It is cooked rice with sausage and cajun spice in it. Some places, Like Popeye's Chicken call it Cajun Rice. Sorry I was gone all day yesterday. Busy with home stuff to do and didn't want hubby to slough off doing carpets. We ran out of soap so only got upstairs done, but the upstairs smells so fresh now. Cutting out most of my eating out has been really hard as DH and I used to eat out all the time. Well, I need to get chores done and let dh sleep in this morning for awhile. Our temps are consistent 90's and upper so pool was pretty warm early yesterday morning. I want to get dh out in it so we can play! :lol: Faye :) |
Good Morning :) I ended up with another 3 pointer so things are looking good. Its Moving Day! Finally! My car is almost all packed, the hard part will be getting my desk and dresser down one flight or stairs, in and out of a truck, and up another flight of stairs. I've very excited to have a new place! The sad news is I don't think I'll have internet untill september! So I'll have to post and check e-mail from the computer lab on campus or something :(

I had a 3 pointer yesterday - had a walk around the shops but am not counting it as exercise as it was very leisurely! Hi Chickies - I have had a serious revelation today. My 13 year old daughter has picked up some of my bad food habits and is exhibiting serious weight gain and food addiction. :fr:
Years ago I made a decision to get out of a bad marriage because I did not want my oldest to see me in an abusive relationship. It was more mental than physical but I was determined that she not grow up in an environment and believe that is the way men and women should relate. Now it is time for me to do the same with my youngest. I must set the example for her and create the appropriate environment for healthy eating. So Greg and I are starting on Atkins today. Not tomorrow, or after the next barbeque, wedding, etc. In addition, I packed up all the white processed boxed foods and non-Atkins canned foods to take to a shelter tomorrow. I also worked out on the treadmill for 25 minutes today. I had blew breakfast with some Hillbilly Beans - that was before I caught my daughter eating cake batter in a cup! For lunch we had a steak with a salad. So silly poll is perfect today because I am already missing Peanut Butter and bacon sandwhiches! :shrug: I can have the bacon but there is no peanut butter and not even diet bread on the first phase. I am missing baked yams with cinnamon and splenda too! mscat816 |
Hey All! Cat- Dirty rice is white rice mixed with groundmeat and other spices. I buy the Zataran's boxed kind.... I forgot you are way out there!! I know I missed someone.. but I forgot that quick!!! :lol: Ms cat.... that is great!! About starting Atkins... and your revelation that is!! MY hardest thing and still is right now is CHOCOLATE!!!! I had 2 candy bars and a half today... and did I mention those donuts I sneaked the other day.. was chocolate iced on top and glazed on bottom!!! OHHHHH I"m about to go crazy just thinking about them!!! But I passed them up today when I went to buy the baby's milk!! So anyways here is another sorry excuse for a post for right now. I know you all are getting tired of seeing “short” post, I feel like I am not doing my part …. Actually I know I’m not doing my part. I should be more supporting, and making more comments. This is not an excuse, but if my computer had DSL I could do 15x’s more. It takes soo long to just load a page, that I barely have time to do anything else. I wish I had more time to get to know you all, and all the newbies to get to know me! I wish I had more time to support the friends here that I have already made! I’ve had to go to copying and pasting my posts to even make sure I’m here everyday. That really sucks!! But I want to try harder… I need to designate a time just for you all… I just can’t seem to find it. If I do it in the morning… I lolly-gag and don’t get my exercises done. Then if I wait until later, hubby or sis complains about me being on here all day… So I don’t know, but I will figure something out soon. I miss being able to read and comment every single post, that helped me out with a lot of my own problems…But I want you all who don’t know me that I’m a better person then you are seeing right now… I just suck right now!! :lol: And to all of you who already know me, you all know that I can be better than this.. So please work with me… and try to bear with me!! Well we had a busy today.. Our so called “family day” So I will try to update you all later!! BTW I lost 2 of those lbs I gained back… but of course I worked out like 4 times yesterday.. Today none yet,,, but I will!! Anyways gotta get outta here and get ready for bed!! Good Morning everyone
The weekend went ok for me....no exercise really, TOM and feeling :( I ate way too many carbs, but I knew it was just comfort food to help the cramps. We had friends over, but I didn't do my usual "social overeating" thing. So that was nice. I have to teach dance for 6 hours today! Thankfully, they are not all in a row. I have a 3 hour private lesson to teach, and then my usual Monday classes.....so I think I'll get my exercise today! :lol: Hope everyone is doing well................gotta fly now. Julie |

MsCat: Thanks for the mission idea. I have a dd with the opposite problem. She is so afraid of becoming fat she starves herself and looks awful sometimes. Of course, though she is 26, she blames it all on me. Julie: Good luck with classes today. Well girls, I need to do my morning chores and try to get back on a good track as I basically have gone backwards and I know it is hormones driving me to eat but I am not controlling it well. I didnt have a good weekend eating and points wise...I had no points for either Saturday or Sunday, again this is no excuse really but I was on TOM and nothing could or would satisfy me...I ate and ate and had a TON of chocolate...but that was then and today is today so it is back on for the week...gotta get some exercise in as well... As for the Silly Sunday poll for me it would be Long John Silvers...geeeezzz how I love that place and I know, I know it is so greasy and artery clogging but that batter is soooooooo good...I have had a problem with going there since I was like 12!! I did have it once in February, but I used to have it like once a week...so it has been so hard.... :) I missed too much to do personal replies, sounds like you all had a great weekend - Faye it is hot as blue blazes here too, I feel for ya..... :cool: Talk to you all later... |

I know the poll was yesterday but mine would be mexican food and pizza. The real problem is that james always wants pizza so we get it at least once a week... Got most of my exercise done for the day :) :D . I do it when james is at pt only time i really have to do it and I plan on making him walk with me tonight so i don't have to beat up some of the army guys who hollar at me lol... Oh i was doing my exercise this morning and of course james old roomate comes in the room while i have my booty up in the air he was just staring too.. I told him to get his butt out of here and knock next time i swear it was horrible.. I hate watching My hubby eat i made him 2scrambled eggs, 4pieces bacon, hashbrowns, and toast for breakfast he ate it all in like 5mins and he doesn't gain anything grrr :mad: .... Hey all you Hot skinny Chickies!!! Don‘t you like the way that sounds!!! Heather, that's good ... about the exercises! That sucks about those guys.. you'd think army guys would have more manners with all of that discipline they are taught! And about James.. DUH My hubby is the same way.. Came in complaining that he had lost 10 lbs... SO!!!! :lol: Carri, I havent reported any pts.. because I don't feel like I have any soo you are not alone!! That's ok.. there's always a new day, right!! Julie... you go girl with your 6 hours!!! Ok, I think you got me and Nefertiti beat!! :lol: Faye, sorrry it's so freaking hot and you have such a*sholes at that pool, I wish I could buy you one and put in in your back yard!! If I win the lottery.... or even any money period... you will have one! Promise! Darn... this mission for today is a hard one... what can I teach those kiddos and my sister?!? Good one!Anyways today I have only exercised for 30 minutes.. The baby is awake.. I incorporated her into about 5 minutes of my ab work-out Lifting her up on my legs.. But she got bored! She gets bore sooo easy! My son is sick!!! Let me tell you what this crazy knucklehead son did!! He snuck and ate a whole bag of my sister‘s sugar-free chocolate. As any of you know… that will make your stomach upset and have to go to the bathroom!! I told him that‘s what he gets for acting like I starve him. He gets up at about 2 am saying he is hungry.. If I would have fed him, I’d be cleaning up vomit in his bed instead!! He had to learn the hard way.. No is NO! Plus that is STEALING!! Anyways I know I sound harsh with my kids… but I will whip their butts if 1. T hey do something that is harmful and dangerous. 2. If I don‘t teach them about stealing, lying, cheating etc.. now… Who will!!!! That is my job! I don‘t want to raise any jailbirds or non disciplined kids.. And the main thing I don‘t believe in is disrespecting teachers and talking back to adults… I HATE that!! Teachers have those kids more than the parents sometimes during school year, and they take their time to teach them to read, and write, and count… If it was so easy.. We all would teach our kids those things and there would be NO school!! Anyways enough ranting!! I hope everyone is doing ok, I have to get ready. I told my sis if she gets up early I will take her places.. So it‘s off to….anywhere that‘s Free!! I will check back in later!! Bye all

I got the full monty yesterday (that's 4 points to me and you! ;) ) Nigel cooked me a lovely meal of veggie sausage and mash - and weighed it all out so I could count the calories! it was lovely - real 'comfort food', but low fat and healthy. JULIE - If the 6 hours exercise doesn't get your weight shifting, I don't know what will! :shrug: Hope you are feeling better - I always crave carbs during my TOM too (and chocolate! :o ) CARRI - Don't be hard on yourself for going off track during your TOM - I think it is IMPOSSIBLE! :lol: You are so good all the rest of the time, that I'm sure it won't do too much damage. FAYE - The situation with your pool is ridiculous - especially as you pay a charge for it. It obviously needs a caretaker to keep an eye on it and check entrance. Can't you have a residents meeting about it? JAYMI - You are to be commended on trying to raise your kids to know right from wrong - not everyone thinks that is important these days. I'm sure they will grow up to be respectful and well mannered adults, which will stand them in good stead. Please don't think you are not contributing enough to the group - even your short posts are long! :lol: We know you are busy, and you are very supportive! MSCAT - Well done for wanting to set a good example to your daughter! I'm not sure about atkins though - I think it's a great diet for weightloss, but not particularly for healthy eating. I'm at the library at the moment because I don't have (nor will for a couple months) internet. I've been going strong with 3 point days :D I'm loving being in so much more control of what I eat. I finally get to have what I want and ONLY I want in the house...grante that will all end in september but its nice livin' while it lasts. I can't wait for weigh in day. I have big hopes...well, big hopes being at least 1 pound. I've not attepmted real exercise yet. I'm concentratingHARD on what and when I eat. Once I think I have that under REAL control I'll start adding exercise. Check in tomorrow! |
Hey everybody - I was reading all the entries from this weekend. Wow, I missed alot, lol.
First, welcome Heather - I hope your hubby gets out soon, and doesn't get sent to Iraq. My godchildren's father is over there, and we're all worried about him making it back safely. I'm having a few PMS issues today, including a migraine, ick! And to topit all off, I had a gyno appointment this morning, just as the cramping started - my body has such great timing, lol!!!! Oh well, she was able to get a pap smear in anyway, and I was able to change my bc yeah! I have decided to stop the pill and try the Nuva ring out, I hate having to take a pill everyday; and I've done it for 5 years this round, I'd just like a break. Not to mention, my doc said that my monthly migraines might be caused by the hormones. So I'm hoping those stop too. They are such a pain in the *(&*@#. I'm having problems reading and focusing, so I'm not going to write any comments, sorry guys. I'm thinking about you, but my brain is almost in shutoff mode, so I'm going to listen to my body today. Maybe go home a bit early, if I can. Anway, I got 4 points Saturday and I think only 2 for yesterday. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and didn't exercise. I planned to make up for that today - before I go to bed, I'm going to force the pilates out of me, at least 20 minutes, and water is no problem today - anything else makes the cramps worse; so on day 1 all I drink is water. Ok, I'm off to put my head on my desk for a short while and wish my headache and cramps away. No worries, y'all, I'll make up for the lack of comments tomorrow - promise :) Later gators (or chickies) - Bon PS - I don't want to forget to mention - my trainer measured me this weekend - down 1 pound from last month, and 2% body fat - not what I would hope for with a month - but progress is still progress :) |

If you win millions you can call my son and have him deliver me a hot tub though! He has one in his showroom that seats 8 plays music, has a tv, a place for a wet bar, the works and costs about 10 grand! :lol: For all of you ladies who complained about hubby's or boyfriends that eat what they like: My husband married me at 23 and weighed 165 and wore a 32 pants. He is 6'2" so he was a string bean. He got out of the Navy and gained 80 lbs and had a major heart attack. Why? Because he had to stay at a certain weight in the Navy and when he got out decided he could eat whatever he wanted. We have him down to about 215 but he would like to be 180-190 and he has to take 5 meds for the rest of his life twice a day. Please don't let your loved one go the same route. He may be fine now, but in 20 years he could be in a world of hurt! DON'[T FORGET, JACK HAD NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL NO HYPERTENSION OR DIABETES, NOTHING AND WHAM HE HAD THE ATTACK! I got into the pool and got most of a workout before invaders came in and started jumping in the pool and what not. At least I got some exercise. It is supposed to be a 100 degrees tomorrow and 90 % humidity! UGH! Have a good night girlies! Faye ;) |
Hey chicks!! I've been doing terrible!! But I refuse to gain my weight back!!! I have been craving chocolate... and havent been avoiding it!! So I am doing terrible... but I'm going to do better... I've been exercising my butt off trying to make up for it.. but it isnt working... I won't let it get me though!! I worked 30 min Denise Austin this morning. And when I came home I did the other 30 minute workout and the 45 minute workout.. That last one was HARD!! I ate so badly today, that I still want to do some more!!! But my body says he*l no!! :lol: I need to go bed-E-Bye!!! I took my vitamin last night.. And I had a migraine headache so badly that I had to keep getting up because I was nauseous and I ended up taking some aleeve! But If I take it during the day.. It makes me nauseous all day long!! I need those vitamins though.. I’m so tired!! I miss you all sooo much!!! I miss being able to comment and give my opinion!! I know you all are tired of hearing that.. But it’s true!! I guess I need to stop whining and do something about it!! NOO, that’s what I need to do.. I need to restart on my goals and add that to it! I’ll figure out a way to catch up! If I have to copy all of the posts on the computer and reply that way,, then come and copy and paste them or something!!! :lol: There’s gotta be a faster way!! Guess what! I was interviewed on the news today.. But what really sucks is that I didn’t see it because either we don’t catch that channel or it came on at 5 and I wasn’t home yet! They were asking about putting a strip club about 2 blocks down.. I said He*L NO!!!! :rofl:!!!
Well anyways tomorrow… tomorrow… here are my goals for tomorrow, and I will add more whenever I need to! :flow1: I will do better with my diet.. :flow1: I won’t let chocolate get the best of me, :flow1: I will put what’s important first, and what’s materialistic and worldly :flow1: last. :flow1: I will be a better friend and support to my friends on here, in TX, and :flow1: my family! :flow1: I will exercise at least 2 times a day… again!!! :flow1: I will reach my goal, and I will keep it off… forever!!!!! Anyways I gotta go to bed.. so I can wake up early!!! But for anyone who’s worried.. My son is doing much better!! I'll end up getting my tubes tied or make hubby get a vasectomy since he's the one who doesnt want anymore!! I hate those migraines.. I still get them... but so does my mom... so I expected them. I started my cycle when I was 8.. but I had BAD cramps... I think headaches are worst though! TUESDAY: Today is target Tuesday and our target this week is maintaining a good relationship with your body. Are you listening to your body when it tells you something? Most of us ignore pain or put it to the side, try and fight the body's food urges etc. We need to be better in tune to our bodies and what they are trying to tell us! Let's make an effort to "listen" to our bodies this week and work on whatever the problem we have.
I have had a disasterous couple of weeks. I like many of you just seem to want to eat and eat. Unfortunately for me, because I am in the menopausal "window" my TOM doesn't always fit the norm so my hormones can be so messed up it lasts for weeks instead of days. I have to make a firm commitment to our target tuesday and help my body through this tough time with something other than food or the desire to eat it. I will check in later. DH has a dr appt this am so I am going with him just to get out of the house. My bday is in 2 months and we are going to go and look at clothes. HE HATES clothes shopping and bless him, he suggested it! I have a good un' in him. Faye :) |
Good morning ladies ( ok not so great It my TOM yucky) I don't feel like doing anything however I made myself do some stretching exercises, jump rope, and resist training this morning now I want to go lay down but i can't it almost time for James to come in and I need to make him breakfast atleast tomorrow I wont have to they are going to go running on the beach in the am so at least I don't have to wake up for a while coz there is no way Im gonna get up at 4am lol...

Morning All ... I had a "no" pointer again yesterday....what is wrong with me, normally I can stay OP forever but I have been off program for 4 days now, I have surely gained a pound or two this week :lol: My downfall last night was that we went to the movies with my brother and saw Anchorman with Will Ferrell ( it was totally hilarious ) and guess what? I had to have popcorn drenched in butter OF COURSE !!! :corn: :corn:

Wow, am I ever worn out! I left the house at 11am yesterday and didn't get home until 11 pm. Taught 6 hours of classes.......OMG, you should have seen me stumbling through those last 45 minutes! It was hilarious!! My body was ok, but my mind was DONE. When you teach, you have to do the moves, watch the students, AND cue them ahead of time which is alot to do all at once even when you're not tired. My eating was atrocious, mainly out of poor planning. I should have brought my lunch/dinner........but instead I hit burger king and felt BLECHY all day. Stupid stupid thing to do. But at least I know I burned off the calories. SO, I guess I got 2 points for yesterday. I gotta get back to planning my meals. It works so much better when I do. No time to do individual replys..........but it seems like we're all cycling together again, so :grouphug: to everyone. TOM will be gone soon, and we'll all feel better. Later babes, Julie |

Tueday Bluesy?
Hi Chickies! Wierd day already. Had blowout with dd yesterday - Sneaking, stealing, and lying about food is out of control and evidence of a deeper emotional problem. I am working hard with love to uncover what she is harboring - may have to get her into counseling. It's is so humbling to have a grad degree in counseling, be a respected parenting instructor, writing a parenting book and know that doesn't make me the perfect parent with my own kids! :?: Evidence to the fact that therapists of any profession cannot and should not counsel their own!
As far as the mission - thanks Faye for using my example. Part of the book I am writing focuses on the importance of role modeling. Not to invoke guilt on parents (like we dont beat ourselves up enough already) :rollpin: but I believe we need to recognize how much our kids' behavior is a reflection of our own. Besides the bad eating habits I have modeled over the years, I have also encouraged some dishonest behavior by sneaking food with her too often and then adding insult to injury with "Let's not tell your stepfather!" Didn't exercise but the first full day on Atkins was not bad for dh or me. Taking measurements today and I am not weighing in until Friday! Faye - great target for today. After reading the “Metabolic Typing Diet”, I became fully aware of how the wrong carbs and overeating certain carbs made me tired and cranky! If we listened to our bodies we would not be so unhealthy! Jayme - Please dont take this as preaching, but I believe in (and the book I am writing focuses on) non-violent forms of discipline, even for things that are dangerous for children. There is a great little easy to read book I recommend to all my clients called "Discipline without Spanking or Shouting" by Wycoff and Unell. If you can't find it in your library, Borders will order it for you. (approx. $8). Check it out and I guarantee you will find some great techniques for teaching (which is my word for discipline) your children to do the right thing rather than having to punish them for doing the wrong thing. Julie :dancer: Faye :dancer: Fun day with dh after we got out of dr office. My doctor left the practice so they assigned me to his dr and woohoo is this guy cute cute cute. Jack says he is really nice and that I will really like him. The guy is some kind of hunk and probably 5 years older than my son!!!! :lol: Tall, black hair and simply gorgeous. Gonna be interesting sticking my behind up in the air for him when the time comes! :o :^: I changed my appt from monday until Aug 2 but then we will start with the physical etc when they get my bp meds right. Jack bought me this black dress skirt that has a see through ruffle at the bottom, a pink sweater, a white zip up bolero jacket with a stand up collar, a pink and brown sweater and brown pants, pink jewelry, a pink Liz Claiborne bag, pink shoes, a gorgeous winter sweater with green, lavender, black and white stripes and a new sexy black swimsuit with a partial mesh top and diagonal white stripes. We bought it all at Goldsmith's on sale and full retail would have cost me about $400 and we got it for less than $200. It is so much fun to shop in a regular store and he told me I can buy more closer to my bday if I want. The skirt, sweater, jacket, jewelry and shoes and handbag are for Thanksgiving day. We are going to my families and it is going to be kind of a surprise. I bought him a Nascar's Tony Stewart leather Jacket for Father's Day (if you don't know, TS is sponsored by HomeDepot so the jacket is orange, black and white) and I am getting him black slacks, black turtleneck and black loafers to go with it. We are going to be some sexy couple on Thanksgiving. Well, the cravings went as fast as they came and Jack and I are committed to not eating out except once a month period and eating correctly at home so we can get weight off by Thanksgiivng. I want to lose 50 lbs and he wants to lose 30 and then he will be at goal. Well, I need to go and check on dinner. Chicken rice casserole and green beans for us tonight with some fruit for dessert. 3 points yesterday - i left it too late to get my exercise in and ended up feeling too tired. I've had a really good day today though! I walked to the local swimming baths to pick up their timetable - which took about 35 minutes. Then I went on my exercise bike for 30 minutes and did some sit ups, and then cooked a nice healthy bolognese for tea! I AM going swimming this week - not sure which day yet, but I WILL go! 1 pointer yesterday. There was a little get together and pizza and chips and cheeze and...yeah...BUT I don't feel bad about it. I knew I had been good all week and it hasn't knocked me off course! I'm very happy. Still not getting real exercise though. I think I may hit the gym tomorrow. My big worry for the next week or so is finding a part time job...wish me luck! I did it!
I know it's late but I had to report that I got my 4 points in! :cb: Stayed on plan the whole day 2 of Atkins and drank 75 oz of water. The exercise almost eluded me though. Still not feeling up to snuff with this cold and spent half the a.m. with the plumber and all afternoon at the eye doctor.
I watched Victor, Victoria with dd for some bonding time, and then Bowling for Colombine till late. It was 11:00 p.m. by the time I cleaned up the kitchen. Of course, I started to rationalize that it is not recommended to workout so late. Then I had to be honest with myself - very few things keep me from sleeping and adrenaline isn't one of them. So I subscribed to the DIA (Do it Anyway) and DIN (Do it Now) club and took the treadmill on. I got a 25 minute workout done while I was reading more of my Atkins book! :tread: Going to bed to complete my diet and fitness journal. Looking forward to Wednesday! mscat816 |
Today went ok as far as eating.. Well actually it wasn’t great, I ate a cheeseburger from Wendy’s, and potato salad for breakfast and dinner! (crazy) I called myself making this meatloaf recipe for dinner… it didn’t come out right…. My son don’t even like it… and he likes anything! So.. Oh well…. I guess I”ll cook some gumbo tomorrow. I didn’t get to exercise today, I forgot I had to go and get the radio on the truck fixed. We went to the mall today and rode around… but of course that’s when UPS decided to deliver my package. They get on my nerves sometimes!! Now when I’m trying to sneak something in the house.. They wait until after 6 (when hubby is home) to bring it… now today, they want to be early! So I have to stay home and wait for the stupid thing. Maybe go to the beach if I can get my sis to wake up Super Duper early!! My daughter is up and hyper… and I need to sleep. I can’t get up in the mornings!!! That’s why I can’t exercise!!! BUT.. I want to be 139 by Saturday. This morning I was 142 so I gained 3 then lost 2 then gained, 2 back, then lost 2 again!! No more chocolate… I’m going to lose those 3 lbs if I have to exercise 4 times a day!!! I just want to see 139 one good time… I’d be soo happy!!!

They each have tiny ac vents and direct sunlight in the afternoon so it was miserable sitting in my office and posting. I weinied out and did it early. Jaymi: Ok, what the heck did you do to meatloaf that no one would eat it? :lol: It is a pretty easy thing to put together I think. As for corporal punishment, I did it but don't really do it now as I found with T that it plain doesn't work. I think you have to do what you feel is the best way to discipline, no matter what it is BUT and this is the really hard thing, don't punish when you are at the temper losing point as you lose control that way. If you are a spanker, step back for a moment and regain your composure then punish. My dd sends dgs to his room and he hates it even though he has toys and whatnot in his room. I think if you find that your punishment does not deter them from repeating whatever they are doing, change it and find something else. You have little children a bit smaller than my dgs I think and sometimes something as small as a timeout works if they don't like to have to sit still. Usually you go by the age of the child, say a 2 year old gets a 2 minute time out etc. Now again, the hard part with this is consistency and taking the time to keep putting the child back in the chair when he gets out and resetting the clock explaining to them if they get up before the ding or whatever that it starts all over. This eventually works pretty well with most kids. I had a real pistol when she was young. When she would get spanked she would run out of the housing screaming so the neighbors thought we beat her to death. I remember the one and only time punishment worked and she was like 18. Her room was in the front of the house where visitors would see it and it was a pig sty. We had fought about it all the time and her dad got into it when I got no headway and told her to clean it up immediately. She smarted off and told him it was her private property and none of his business and took off out the door. BIG mistake. He took the door off her room. When she sashayed back in thinking she had won and found out ole dad wasn't giving her door back until her room was cleaned, she moved out! :lol: (she is still a slob in her own home but that is her business now) Carri: This too shall pass. It seems to have for me. You have been doing a spectacular job so just keep plugging along til cravings and what not pass. MsCat: Good for you. Procrastination is not one of my many sins. Sometimes I wish it were. I am a work in progress! :lol: Amanda: The pool!!!!!!! Ok I am waiting to hear you have conquered that one, girlie! Susan: I know you will find work! You go girl! Morning ... well I dont want to jinx myself but I was able to stay OP yesterday w/o going crazy and giving into cravings...actually I really didnt seem to have any cravings so maybe it was just TOM ... anyway so a 3 pointer yesterday and I hope to have many, many more of them... I may not try to exercise this week as I want to actually get a handle on the food thing for a few days, but who knows...
Weds woes...I guess would be the heat ( and my job, ha ) , it was miserable yesterday, thank GOD for air conditioning ... Cat - Do you not have A/C? Morning Girlies!
Just back from aerobics.......so on my way to a 4 pointer today. Got 3 points yesterday. I was so tired from the belly-thon on Monday that I was basically a zombie all day. Food is better, though. I learned a trick from a friend that is helping alot. Get the biggest tupperware container you can fit in your fridge and FILL IT with chopped veggies. I put in onions, tomatoes, broccoli, calliflower, bell peppers, carrots, whatever..........then you have an instant salad any time you're hungry. You can also use them to dip with (I use hummus or onion dip made with soup mix and cottage cheese). AND it's instant chopped veggies for stirfry or soup or whatever you're fixing for dinner. The box lasts me 3 or 4 days cuz the kids graze on it too. It's amazing how I can be just as satisfied with a salad as a bag of cookies or something sweet. It just has to be HANDY! It takes about 20 minutes to chop everything up, but it is so worth it! Faye, those clothes sound awesome! I wish I had the money to go shopping right now. We are so broke and trying hard to save for vacation in August! Seems like we are just barely staying above water and not using the credit card at all (we have a zero balance, thank goodness!) but I'm afraid that will change when we go on vacation! Any time I have spare change or bills smaller than a $10, I put it in a jar and don't think about it. So I think we have at least a few hundred saved there (we've been keeping the same jar for about 2 years). You'll probably find that they are too big by Thanksgiving! Jaymie---GO TO SLEEP YOU GOOF!!!! :lol: I can't believe the times you post...1:43 AM???? :eek: I'm a morning person, I will never understand people that can stay up past 10........... :?: Amanda--don't worry about what anyone thinks at the pool.........just jump in and enjoy yourself!! Hello everyone! Has anyone ever seen that comercial when the woman climbs up the ladder to her window and puts like 50 bags in her room,… and when she comes in the house with like 3 bags.. Her hubby asks.. So how did you do at the mall? And she says ok.. And smiles!! That’s me!! I’m always sneaking stuff… I go to the store and get my little sister to bring bags in her room… :lol3: :rofl: what will I do when she is gone!! Oh and I know spanking sounds harsh.. But I wouldn’t call it really spanking… I tap my daughter on her hand… like tapping someone on their shoulder… it’s not the pressure I apply to her spankings it’s the fact that I do it at all that hurts her feelings! She falls all down and acts like I am killing her… my son is 60 lbs… and he is almost tall as me.. So yes… I hit him harder… but usually a pop on the but or I spank his hand like a little kid!! I gotta get him in line.. He’ll be taller than me real soon!! I am doing ok today. I havent eaten any chocolate!!! I am not eating a cilantro salad that I made.. No need to add a recipe, just lettuce cucumbers, cilantro, jalapenos, red pepper, lemon juice, and some vinegar and splenda (which is the gross sounding part.. But I didn‘t want to add salad dressing… I drank a C2 today, ate some potato salad, and some gardettos… and I 2 biscuits with lite syrup for breakfast. Not that good.. But not that bad! I have 3507 steps so far.. But I know I have way more.. But that stupid pedometer doesn’t work right… My shorts were too big I guess… Stupid thing! I have done 60 minutes Denise Austin, now I want to do 60 more to make up for yesterday! I want to see that 139.… even if it’s just for one day!! The number sounds low… but most people my height would weigh probably 115 or 120. A lot of people say If I were your size… I wouldn’t worry about it…
#1 ~ 142 lbs is not small on me. I have big hips, butt and thighs, and I have cellulite. Although if I didn’t have the cellulite and the humongous pooch from the kids..(which I AM going to get rid of… AGAIN!) then 142 would be just fine! #2 ~ I have to work my butt off just to maintain weight loss, so there is no not worrying about anything! I can gain 4 lbs in one day.. No sweat! I have gained 20 lbs back before in 2 weeks, so I know! This is a constant fight for me! I can’t just say ok, well this is it… I’m happy and stop everything! #3 ~ I know people have to lose 50 or more lbs on here, so a lot of chicks roll their eyes at me and put me in the same category as skinny people that always say they‘re fat…But I am NOT skinny and for the record.. I have lost 60 lbs!! So I can say that I was obese at one time!!!! Sorry a little rant.. But I got it off of my chest! I feel better! I just feel that as long as I am here to lose weight… I should be appreciated.. My BMI is 27.7. Which is not good! I don’t have much muscle… if any! So just FYI! I hope everyone is doing great!! :flow1: Faye- I don’t know what I did wrong!! I followed the recipe exactly!! Pace® Meat Loaf with Roasted Garlic Potatoes Prep. time: 20 min. Cooking time: 60 Serves: 6 Ingredients 1 cup Pace® Picante Sauce 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 cup fresh bread crumbs 1 egg, beaten 2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley OR 2 tsp. dried dried parsley flakes 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce 4 cloves garlic, minced OR 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 4 medium potatoes, (about 1 1/4 pounds), each cut into 8 wedges 0 Paprika Directions Mix 1/2 cup picante sauce, beef, bread crumbs, egg, parsley, Worcestershire and 2 cloves garlic throughly. In large shallow-sided baking pan shape firmly into 8- by 4-inch loaf. Mix oil and remaining garlic. Toss potatoes with oil mixture until evenly coated. Sprinkle with paprika. Place around meat loaf. Bake at 350°F. for 1 hour or until meat loaf is no longer pink (160°F.). Pour remaining picante sauce over meat loaf before serving. Well I did actually add some of my own tomato sauce afterwards.. Now that everything is unpacked and away in my apartment I have nothing to do! I listen to npr nonstop because I have no tv or internet. There are a people I know in town that I've seen but still! I'm actually looking forward for class to start. Guess I should use this time to exercise! I'm noticing that I'm much weeker than a few months ago. I need to regain that strength. Also, its becoming very apparent that unless its pasta, cookies, or from a box, I can't cook! Well...I'm not the best anyway, so if any of you know a good, simple cookbook let me know! Check in tomorrow! |
