  • Hi Jana

You are a very sweet lady. I have popped in and out lately not paying attention to what everyone writes, and I apologize for that. You brighten my day and always great to hear your success in the weight loss department.
Just very proud and excited for you!!

Umm, heading out to B and J's now. I do have my free 1 scoop coupons that are good til Aug. .......anyway, my co worker wants to go so I will keep her company.

Les is more real and down to earth then Alex. I can relate a whole lot more to him and he is super funny/goofy. Thinking we get a long pretty good......I hope he feels the same way. Anyway, just focus on what God wants and we will be fine.

They don't have B & J's there where you live??? I would send you some coupns

    TTFN
  • I am talking to Les but wanted to say that I had Berry Graham at B&J's. It was my pleasure, very good. Though Chunky Monkey is my favorite..........lol

    ok, going to go chat.

  • Good morning ladies--

Cloudy morning...then it's suppose to be up to 85 or so......

Jen--I think that the jumpstart plan is ok as long as that's all it is and after you get that jumpstart you continue eating healthily. I've considered the jumpstart plan...but I think I'm just too darned lazy!

Jana--Enchanted Forrest is a fun place to go. My dad used to take me there a lot during the summer. Always remember having fun. Then we went to Disney Land......the place wasn't as cool anymore!! But now as an adult...I like going again!! I think it's really fun for the little kids. We took Jhanai for her 6th birthday. She loved it. Also took her for her 7th birthday....she was having and attitude that year!! OMG! I didn't know what to think! So this year was fun. She had more fun. (So she said anyways)

Angie--Milkshake? Try cake and icecream! I had that and I felt all icky later. Then.....I had more the next day! I guess I didn't mind feeling crappy! I used to drink protein shakes every morning before work when I was at Sony. I drank the strawberry ones and I just loved them. I always drank protein shakes when I worked out. Now I don't....and I don't go to the gym anymore either. Hmmmmm......and I wonder why I can't lose the weight........

Susan--Sounds like you might have found a keeper. I like what you wrote about focusing on what God wants. Do you have a photo of him to share with us yet??

Morning to the rest of the Jaded Ladies!!

I have laundry to do. and I think I better get it done in the morning while it's still cool out. That dryer heats up the house!!

Take Care and I'll be back later I'm sure!!

    Marti
  • Good Morning Ladies~

Not much on the agenda again today. Was going to the show Wednesday but decided to do it today at noon. Then have to make a stop at the post office and grocery store to pick up a couple of things. V has a drs appt, this afternoon, the foot doc, not sure I will go-hate the drive through downtown. He has a bur (sp?) I think it is on the side of his foot and the doc scraps at it. he says it feels so much better afterwards, but sounds painful to me. OUCH! Did fine yesterday with my eating and started out good this morning. We'll see what happens on WI Monday. I changed my WI back to Monday since I started yesterday.

Jana~I may have to have you send me another copy of the FT if you don't mind. I just had my hands on it Sunday and now can't find it. I will let you know if I don't. I agree with weight loss being 85% mental. And sometimes I DO feel like the goodyear blimp!

Marti~sounds like Jhanai had a fun birthday.

Jen~I tried slim fast several years ago. Had two shakes a day and a sensible meal for one week. Even walked like crazy. At the time I was living in an apt. on the third floor, with a dog so I got plenty of walking in, and I did not lose a pound, not even an ounce! So I quit. Of course that is usually my problem. I want quick results and if I don't see them I usually quit. I tend to lose when I eat three meals a day, or have a protein shake for breakfast and two meals. It's just sticking with it.

Susan~Les sounds like a great guy, and a keeper!

Sue~I do hope the dr finds out what is wrong soon. Someone mentioned an upper GI, my DD had to have one and she said it was nasty. had to drink that white chalky stuff. Of course I told her it can't be worse than a green lizard-I think that's what they called it! Anyway, if they had done the US on her before the upper GI they would have seen it was gall stones. They just didn't want to believe it because she was only 15.

Angie~hope you are feeling better today girly.

Well, ladies I need to get going and get in the shower. The show starts at noon and we need to leave at 11:30. I'm glad it isn't raining. Geez, we have had rain every night for almost a week straight. The good thing is it has cooled off, but the humidity is awful. Not supposed to rain until Thursday I think. Anywho...hi to everyone else. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! TTFN
  • Hi everyone!
I have some competition for the computer these days, now that my whole family is home day in and day out. They all want turns - waaaa. I've been watching the toddlers at our church's VBS this week. They are so cute! I was supposed to take my DD, but since David is home, he's been watching her and now that he's had a taste of what it's like to have the little angel to himself all morning - he wants to go back to work! No just kidding It was so sweet - I came home today and they were drawing pictures together. I asked him if we wanted me to take her with me tomorrow and he said "What? and miss library story time?" He's a great daddy.

Finally , a cooler, overcast day. I will enjoy my walk much more today. Now this is what I want my Oregon to be like - who do I have to talk to do order this up for the rest of the summer?

Christi - You and I can be Monday WI buddies. That's my WI day, though I didn't get a chance to post in CC yesterday. It was a no change week anyway I feel the same way you do about wanting some quick results. Sometimes I feel like if I can get just get on a roll, this will motivate me to push on through to meet my goal. Then when it doesn't happen quickly, I start in with alot of negative self-talk which sets me back even further. I am really working hard to not let that happen. When I was working with the toddlers today, the other mom I was with got out her points calculator and journal after snacktime and she started recording her food. She was describing her program in an almost apologetic way, like "isn't this such an anal thing to do?" But, I said, "Hey I track all my food, too, it's nice to know I'm not the only one" As we were chatting, I realized that I have lost 15 lbs since Christmas. It seemed like it was happening so slowly, but it WAS happening! I need to remember that. It will happen for you, too Christi - and for all of us! We are all smart chicks with our heads on straight!

Jen - glad the shakes work for you. I tried them once, but they were too sweet. I just can't handle the sweet meal replacement stuff - I start eating it like candy.. If you need better nutrition maybe a smoothie with fresh fruit would substitute? I used to make some yummy ones with lowfat yogurt, fresh berries and honey. Whatever works...I certainly understand the need for a jumpstart

Susan - You are one brave woman teaching a 13 y/o to drive, lol! The sugar rush from the B&J's is messing with your head Les sounds like such a nice man....going slow is a great idea - I was with DH 4yrs before we married, 10 before having our son. Never regretted it....

Jana - I'm thinking all the flurry of activity around my house I neglected to say WTG on making to your halfway mark! I like your bracelet, it's a daily affirmation of all your success. You are an inspiration.....Keep up the great work!

Marti- walmart.com has stuff like treadmills and shipping isn't that bad. Sometimes there's a sale and the final price isn't too far off what you would pay just walking in off the street. I'm a bit anti-walmart because I have had bad experiences with the quality of their merchandise and thought their customer service was just awful. I had a much better experience with GIJOES.com I know it seems wierd to order such big stuff online, but sometimes you can get a really good deal.

Well, I seem to have written another novel - Hello to LibraryKate, Angie, Shanna, Katiecat, Sue (Good Luck on the GI) and anyone else I'm forgetting at the moment - Have a great day everyone
    RosieKate
  • Hi.

I agree with you RosieKate, Wal Mart is icky. The only one I have been to is the 82nd one - just crowded. I like Target so much better, even Goodwill is better,,,,lol.

OMG!!!! Just got an email from HR and I have a Thursday appt. for site manager!!! YAY......see, no one else in their right mind wants that position,,...rather be laid off.....
So, happy. Pins and needles - would love to move out of here, it has been a year.

Ben and Jerry's does all sorts of things to your brain,..lol. Saw your church was having a VBS this week RosieKate. The back parking lot is where Rachel and I have been driving! You haven't noticed a Corollla going around in circles??
    How funny.

Speaking of B & J.......Les said it is wrong to photo copy coupons and use them?? ....I show them to the people who work there and they don't care.
Geez, think it is morally wrong?? lol

Anyway, better get back to work. See you want a picture Marti?? I don't know,,,,,I never saw a pic before I met him, he doesn't have one on the internet. I guess in 4 weeks or so if we are still getting to know each other I will ask him to take one with me......he is a sweet man.

    best get

    ttfn
  • Good evening ladies,

Susan - no B&J here, but that's probably a good thing, lol. As for the coupons, I'd ask the manager if it's okay. The kids who wait on you don't really care one way or the other, and it's probably okay, but if you are concerned, ask the mgr. When will you know about the job? You must be on an emotional roller coaster by now!

Marti - didya get your laundry done? I got my sorted and started, but not finished....

Cristi - WTG for being OP! If you need the Fast Track, let me know and I'll mail it. Or I'll try to find the download addy from the WW site... they have both diets there, the higher protein and the higher carb. I copied the higher protein because I feel so much better when I get enough protein. This is NOT to be confused with Atkins, though. It is still very well balanced. I would never do a fad diet...

RosieKate - good to see you! I can just see your DH with DD, lol. Glad you're having a good time at VBS. And way to go on the 15 pounds gone!! Slow=safe!

Today Neal and I went to see The Terminal with Tom Hanks. (Cristi, we went at 12:30!) There were only 4 of us in the theater, lol. I took a pair of sox to wear when I got cold, and then took them back off before we left, lol. The movie was really good, and I recommend it. You oughta see Catherine Zeta Jones in this film... she is slim and gorgeous. No wonder Neal wants to take her to the deserted island with him, lol.

We also went to Sears and he got me a TV with both -a built in dvd player and VCR - to put in front of the treadmill. It was a display model, on clearance, so we got a real good price on it.

Thanks so much to all of you who have said such kind things about my weight loss. I still have a LOT to lose, but getting half of a hundred off is heady stuff! Btw, I took 1 cup of dry Cheerios and 1/2 banana to the movie with me...

    Toodles,
  • You took cheerios to the movie?? lol That is so sweet. When I was losing weigt years ago I would take an apple. I did have 5 kernals once, I love popcorn- so that was torture to stop at 5.....

omg- if I ask the manager and he says no.....what will I do?? lol.......I don't want to know if I am morally corrupt. Though Les thinks I am heading down that dark path of no return.....yum, with Ben & jerry at the end.....lol-
He did offer to buy me a pint of B&J but doesn't seem as exciting.

I interview on Thursday at 11. I don't know what they are doing- the agency is laying off and everyone is shifting around. So, I think if I do get it that it would be pretty quick , maybe even by Friday. Not going to get my hopes up though.........all this roller coaster stuff is making me morally go down the wrong path.....lol.....

Better go, working on the newsletter- just needed a break.

btw- Catherine Zeta Jones is BEAUTIFUL in the movie. I never had seen her act before, doesn't really match up to Tom Hanks but neither did Helen Hunt--- though Meg Ryan did- always loved them together.

    yada,yada.......

    ttfn
  • AH Susan Susan Susan,,,,you went to the dark side with the photo copier ...
AT least you haven't done what IVe done with a photo copier,,,or have you? *evil grin

Anyways I can't CM B&J's but try the half baked! OMG brownies and cookie dough together,,,life can't be better then that!

I tried to teach Brandon to drive, I needed his inhaler after one circle around the parking lot.

Jana,,,I still so want a treadmill or even better a eliptic trainer...man can I put on a sweat on that. I almost killed myself one time watching trading spaces,,,normally I only did one show on it thats 30 minutes,,,but this one was a double episode. I walked funny after...
Im such a Tom Hanks fan,,,will have to go see Terminal.
Cristi, your words hit home...over and over I thought about it yesterday and today I can say I had the cleanest eating in a long time...and a 1 hour fast paced walked...2 days in a row. I went and bought protein powder,,,lemon lime,,,can you say pucker power? Its pretty tasty stuff.

RosieKate, yes you do have a great husband,,,

I need to go to bed early tonight,,,haven't been sleeping very good lately. So much on my mind,,,weird dreams...with all my problems blending.....lol
    Anyone watching Last Comic Standing?

Ive been reading a cook book from Bill Phillips,,,Eating for Life,,,OMG I love it!

I hope Im not missing anyone, hello to everyone else.

    Angie
  • Good morning ladies,

Susan - yes, I had a sandwich baggie with my Cheerios (which I ate one at a time) and put the banana peel in it afterward. If I could have only taken milk and a spoon too, lol. Neal took a baggie of cashews and shared the banana with me. I like the fact that Les is More is honest ... that's one more thing in his favor. Good luck with the interview!

Angie - so just what have you been making copies of??? Something tells me I don't wanna know, lol. If you want, how about sharing some of the recipes with us? I'm always trying something new. Sorry about your weird dreams... things are bound to settle down soon. About your house, are you sure the realtor hasn't priced it too high? Another thing, we offered a rebate of $3000.00 if the buyer paid full price... we were going to come down anyway. The people used it as their down payment. They had good credit, just not enough to put down. The only bad thing about that was, the realtor got his cut on the whole amount. But the good thing was - the house was sold in no time.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. I have to find baptism presents for my nephew's twins. We're going to Indy for that on Sunday.

    Anyway, bbl,
  • Good morning chickadees!!

Cristi--Jhanai told me to thank you for the card!! She didn't get it in time before she left, I told her she got a card in the mail and she wanted me to open it and read it to her. She thought that was so nice of you. She said "And she doesn't even know me!" I told her that I don't really "know" personally anyone but Shanna on here but we still exchange cards. She thought that was cool. So thank you!!

RosieKate--James found a treadmill at Sears that he's considering getting. I told him we should wait a little longer to get one, when we can afford one!! So who knows when we'll get one. I just know that I would like to eventually get one.

Susan--You are crazy teaching your daughter to drive so soon!! I can't even imagine Jhanai that age let alone at 15 wanting to learn to drive! She's been doing a count down since she was 8!! I told her when she turns 15 her DAD will be teaching her or James will. I would have a heart attack if it were me teaching her. And I don't need one!!

Angie--I've been having strange dreams lately myself. Some are too bizarre to remember. But last night I had a dream of my parents breaking into my house and getting into my stuff. Now why in the world.......I remember getting out of bed (in the dream) finding them in my kitchen and going off and just crying because I couldn't trust them anymore. It was mainly my mom who was in the dream. I used to have horrible dreams about her after I moved out of the house. I had the same dream for a year!!! I would always wake up and go talk to my grandma about it. ***sigh***

Jana--I did get my laundry done. I also went over to my grandpa's and did a few loads of laundry for him over there! Tuesdays, my aunt and cousin come out and clean house. They have done this for my grandma while she was sick, and my aunt had promised her that she would continue doing that for my grandpa. So now I try to make it out there on tuesdays to help. The house smelled good after we were all done!!

Hi to the rest of the chickadee's out there!!

Today we woke up with rain on the ground!! How crazy is that? I was going to do some yard work, but I'm such a weenie that I don't want to get muddy!! I know "whaa"...but hey! This afternoon I will be going to grandpa's to make lunch. See what he's up to for the day.

I'm going to go have a muffin and a cup of coffee . You all have a good morning!!

    Marti
  • Morning again ladies--

I had my cup of coffee and a lemon blueberry muffin. Made those last night for James. (I had to sneak one!)

The other day I bought some capri's (did you hear that Angie?! I finally got a pair!!) and a top at walmart. And yesterday I got a compliment from James that almost made me cry!!

He came home and was looking at me and he had this quizical look on his face and I was like "what?!" and he said "Those pants are too loose on you"

I could've hugged the man!! They didn't feel loose at all. In fact they felt perfect. Although they are a size 10 which doesn't please me but hey....they're not tight and I like them. But to hear James say that made my day. Now...to work on it harder to be in a pair of 8's and have him say that again!!

I just HAD to share that.

Where is everyone this morning??????? I usually post later in the day and I see that you all post in the mornings...now that I post in the mornings....you're all gone!
    Do I smell??

Ok...time to put on makeup and look more presentable. Maybe then you'll all come and chat with me!

    BBL

  • Happy Hump Day Ladies!
I always want to start out with good morning for some reason, then look at the clock. I guess too I didn't realize it was so late. Well, kind of back on schedule with my Wal-Mart Wednesday. I have been going early to beat the crowds. I bought some polaroid film to take my picture in my underclothes. Also, picked up a couple of CD's, and a book, oh andof course groceries-the main reason for going! LOL I can't believe RosieKate & Susan don't like Wal-Mart! They just opened this new one about a year ago-I think?? It's real clean and this is the first one that the employees are always nice and helpful. I love the one-stop shopping. But..I must say I do like Target better and they will be opening a Target Superstore in a couple of months and I just have to check it out. I didn't know they had Super Target's.

I must say maybe that good long look in the mirror was just what I needed. I have been doing great so far. You ladies would be proud-I went to the show yesterday and all I had was a small diet pepsi. I think this is probably only the second time I have gone and not had popcorn and candy. So I am proud of myself. And I really didn't miss not having it, even though it smelled so good when we walked in. and I have stayed on track and even getting the water down.

Jana~funny, I just bought cheerio's today. I haven't bought any in a while and yesterday I added them to my list. Never ever thought about taking something like that for a snack at the show. I will have to remember that next time. Glad to know The Terminal is good. DD & I also think Catherine Zeta-Jones is beautiful and can see why Neal would want to be on an island with her. I didn't know it but, DS was telling me it was based on a true story. Hey, I know you are a fan of John Grisham, have you read Bleachers? I just bought it Wal-Mart, the paperback. Don't normally buy paperbacks but it was cheap enough. I have been on a reading kick lately. Anyway, gonna get it read as soon as I finish Daddy's Little Girl by MHClark.

Marti~how sweet James is. And tell Jhanai she is welcome for the card. I thought it would be a nice surprise for her. I love capri's! I'm doing today what you did yesterday-laundry!

Angie~funny, I too had a bad, weird dream last night that woke me up. But I think it was because of the book I read. John Saul has some freaky books and this one was worse than some of the others. I'm glad I said something that made sense to you, it really has got me to thinking a lot and actually doing something about it. I have some protein powder also, Herbalife vanilla that I make shakes with. Actually, they are more smoothies, not shakes. I just call them shakes for some reason. They are made with milk, fruit, ice and the powder. I make banana, strawberry and peach ones which are quite good.

Susan~I can't believe you are teaching your DD to drive at 13! I think I would have lost it if I had started the kids that early. The boys I let when they were 15 because they could get a permit. But DD has had no interest in driving. She is on her second permit and in no hurry to get her license and she is 20!

RosieKate~your dh sounds sweet. I pictured him and your baby drawing, so cute! I know my dd was daddy's little girl, but then aren't they all? That is what I have to keep thinking to myself, that while the weight may not be coming off fast, it is coming off. I always get lost in the 'quick fix' that when it doesn't I just quit. Isn't it funny how many of us actually do record our food. I do too, and think it is important to do so.

    Hi to everyone else!

I need to get going and get some yard work done. Trying to get it done today because it is supposed to rain more tomorrow. I am kind of glad for the rain right now because that means I don't have to water the yard! And I know the farmers need it, well in west KS. I saw here that some of the wheat crops were ruined because of the rain, that is terrible. It has been too wet for them to do anything with it. Okay, ladies I am outta here. Take care and have a great day.
  • hey there
Marti - Here I am - you're not all alone in cyberspace. Your outfit sounds cut, I do like capris. I admire your restraint on the treadmill purchase. After all, the weather is good for walking outdoors this time of year. I'm trying to get out everyday. Now that DH is around more, I can walk by myself if I plan it right

Christi - I should clarify - There really is no Walmart for those of us in Southwest Portland. There's one on the other side of town and there's one in Woodburn, so I'd have to drive about 30 minutes to get to one. So I've been in W-mart maybe twice in my life. I had a bad experience with an online purchase and will never buy anything from them that way again I'm glad you have a good one near you. I agree with Susan - I have better luck at Target and Good Will.

Susan - oh Susan. well, today it's B&J coupons, tomorrow it's plane tickets - you're on the slippery slope now, girl I'm still just in awe that you live in walking distance to an ice cream store and aren't packing on the pounds. I live close to Sweets etc ( the village soda fountain) and summer is a tough time! They have yummy ice cream. So far I've only taken DS once, and I didn't buy anything - and June is almost over. I probably put the owner's kid through college on what I bought there the last couple of years

Jana - Hi to you - hope you had a good shopping trip

Hi to everyone else. Nice and cool today. Now that VBS is done for the day, I need to get some groceries and I might work some more in the yard. And so I'm off!

    RosieKate
  • Good morning all,
I did another clean eating day,,,arghhh Tanner just asked to make cookies, NO I have said,,,but knowing him he will sneak his baking in...lol I have no will power with his choc chip cookies...lol
I had a funny day at work,,,most of my customers were in a good mood and cracked joke after joke with me. One guy had me laughing so hard I could barely work...had a few co workers looking over at me...face all red. But not as funny as Becky yesterday she had some guy sing her a full song, and another guy offer to take her to Jamaica

Have to take Tanner to the walkin he looks like he may have pink eye....which I don't need spreading in our house.
GASP! Carpis? Marti you don't say...lol I just love them,,,infact I need a couple more pairs to tide me over the summer,,,I have alot of jean ones and can only wear jeans on Fridays...
Jana, you are right you don't want to know what we did...lol
    Well off to make dinner...
    Angie
