Hal -- That's a shame that your test was so stressful. Big congrats on passing it though!! When I read what you said in her last email, I can see why you are shaken up. I just went through my emails from her, and in an old email she gave me her phone number. I called the phone number, and the man who answered said there was no Lyn there. This was a new phone number for the man, so he didn't know who had the phone number before him. I did happen to find an e-mail from Thin that was sent to me and other people, so I emailed the other people on the list (thinking they might be Thin's friends) asking for her current contact info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello Ladies,

We'll today is my last day with my company. It's been a gloomy day. I'm surprised I have not just spassed out (new word). At lunch we had a going away luncheon for all us leaving & for those retiring. Tomorrow we start with the new company, but only guaranteed a job for 90 days. So these next 90 days will be stressful. Anyway, I'm allowing myself to be gloomy & sad today, but tomorrow is a new day. I'm not going to post my food today, cause I did overeat... let's just say 30 pts for the day..

Mitchellez - Thanks for checking on Thin, I hope you hear something soon. I'm sorry to hear about your cat..thoughs are with you. That is great that your MIL is able to come & visit for a while.

Hal - WTG on your passing your TEST.

Nita - Hope the refrigerator man came on time.

we'll I'm getting ready to go home. Hope everyone has a great evening!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

HalGal -- Congratulations on passing your test! I can relate to your stress in taking the test as well as studying for it!

As far as Thin is concerned, I have a number in my phone book which may be her mother-in-law so after I get off the internet I will check it out.

Some of you may remember about the gentleman I met at a specialty store this week. I just tried two of his suggestions and I thought I would share them. He had bought an avocado cream and he said to mix it with salsa, any kind. You then use it on celery which I just did and it was excellent (my husband used it on tortilla chips--I have to admit I tried about 3 of these). I am not a celery person but his theory is that celery is a very health food to eat. The other suggestion he had was to take plain lowfat yogourt and mix it with a little fruit. I used a little apricot preserves, even though it was not sugar-free, and I truly enjoyed a small cup of yogourt. Not only is this a cheaper way to go, but there are no toxic artificial sugars in it.

I did my stint at the TV station today and must have talked to well over 15 different people. It really is an eye-opener to listen to all their stories. I am relieved once I am through for the day and try not to think about it until the next week.

Tomorrow is my last day at the attorneys' office, and I am really excited. I am really getting in the clean-out/clean-up mode around the house. By the way the refrigeration man did make it and had the fridge fixed in no time at all.

Well it is almost time to watch Jeopardy and this the young man who has been on for 19 days and he still keeps winning! He truly is a genious to be able to know all those answers.

Take care,
Anita

Thanks Nita - you are a star!! I was getting so worried about her. I think we really need to get each others e-mail addresses and phone numbers or maybe even home addresses. As long as we do it all by Private Messages it should be OK. Then we could all send each other Christmas cards personally! I think it would be lovely to get a Christmas card from you wonderful caring ladies.

Isn't 3fc great? Thanks to them I met Shad when she came to Ireland (was it last year or the year before!!) and now that my daughter Sinead and her friend are in Australia, Shad is, as I type, driving the girls down to The Gold Coast. Earlier she took them to hold a kaola and feed kangaroos. She is an angel in disguise!
Had an e-mail from Paul and he seems to be having a good time but it also sounds like hard work. He said ...............

"We just did
a week of training and now all the campers have
arrived. The amount of wheelchairs is unbelievable and
the amount of times I got my foot run over by a 125Kg
chair at the opening disco is not funny! There's 12 of
us jammed into my cabin, 4 councellors and 7 kids and
and an assistant. The kids are aged 7 to 13 and vary
in what they can do. Anthony and Kevin we have to
everything for including feeding and toileting. the
other kids are more able up to Josh who can do almost
everything for himself. 4 of them wear nappies
constantly which prematurely gets me into learning how
to change them. I got 2 weeks to go for these campers
then I get a 6 day break before going back again for
another 3 weeks of older kids. Its gonna be tough.
There are lots of other cultures here but we are
dominated by English and of course Americans. They're
all being well versed on hurling and other stuff so
don't worry."

Sounds like it will be a very worthwhile experience for him and I am so proud of him for doing it.

Thursday and I am off for the rest of the week YAY!! ........... hopefully I will get a walk in and then some more dejunking is on the cards. I am also going for a neck and shoulder massage today to a local lady who does reflexology also. I have had a stiff neck and sore head for a couple of days now and I think it is down to stress. Even though Paul and Sinead are out of sight they are not out of mind!
Have a nice day all!

Many alternatives

There are millions of roads that lead to success and fulfillment. Yet far too many people push and shove just to get on a few of those roads, while leaving most of the other ones empty.
There is virtually no limit to the number of ways your dream can be reached. There's no need to give up on that dream just because one of the most obvious ways is blocked.

Instead of focusing on how you can't get there, consider all the other alternatives. For they are most certainly there.

With some creativity and commitment, you can put yourself in a place where there is no competition. You can put yourself on a sure and steady path that leads to the fulfillment of your most treasured dreams.

The biggest winners do not depend on making others lose, on gaining at the expense of another. The biggest winners are those who create real and lasting value where it did not exist before.

Stop fighting for your share of the existing pie, and start creating a new and even more enjoyable delicacy. It will bring you a level of success that cannot be denied.

Hello Ladies,
Nita - that is good news about Thin. Hopefully she be back on the forum soon. That avacado celery does sound good. I know Ww tell you to try new things & to get out of eating the same thing everyday.

Mooz - I had a massage the other night. My neck was hurting me & I know it was from stress. That is wonderful that Shad is taking the girls around. I hope Paul is able to enjoy the sights too. Tell Paul if he ever gets to Texas you have a friend here too.

we'll I need to run. Treadmill tonight, hopefully 2 miles.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hello all~~ wow, the word is out, i've been missed. You would not believe all the people who called me or emailed me about your search. I am ok and trying to find more time in the day. I will get serious about posting again, but cannot stay on long right now. Just wanted to thank you all for caring.

Oh, and NITA~~if you could go in and edit your post and take my email right outta there! I don't want just anyone to read these boards and get my addy. OK? Thanks, i would appreciate that.
Like Mooz said we should do it via private messaging.

Trying to read back and see what all is happening here. More later.

Default RE: Marry That Stationary Bike...!!!

Hey Movers and Losers!

OK, next week, another test - the final exam and an oral presentation due to be given on Tuesday (same class). I spoke with one of our school board executives as I was gathering information for my presentation and she said this is the most difficult class she remember. I feel better already.

On endrocologist told me once, years ago, to marry my stationary bike. Well, it appears it is one of the few things that has been a constant. AS I prepare to go do some 'time'.

Did anyone catch the show on MTV called Real Life, I'm Obese. I could honestly only watch parts of it. It scared me. Obesity scares me. I know it is a lifetime battle, and I find myself so tired of losing the battle. This scares me.

Mooz: Thanks for the neat pictures. It is fun to take trips via your children and the internet. Thanks again for the Marston quotes. I enjoy and need to morale boost.

OneDay: How is your exercise going? What have you done today? Just remember difficult times are hard to avoid - those 30 pts are a temporary thing! Any news on what your new company will be doing? I hope all works out for the 'better' for you! Hope for better, not just what you had.

Nita: Thin need not worry about the email address, as it was incorrect. I attempted to send her a note, and it came right back! I've actually made my own avacodo cream and added salsa. Only problem is it does not keep, you have to only prepare what you plan to eat. It was gooood...! Hey, what are you refering to toxic artifical sugars? Do you mean sweet and low? Just caught my eye.

Michellez: Thanks again for Thin assistance! HA, HA! I believe journaling is key to our weight loss. I have a good friend that has lost 50 pounds in the last year on WW. She carries a PDA and as she consumes anything, she puts the points into it. She says when she is out of points, she considers herself out of money.

Cat: How are you? How are the sales of your poem book going? If you want, can you post another one for us? We could use the inspiration... !!!

Hi Everyone,

One of my friends passed Arthur Agatston's South Beach Diet book onto me to review. Perhaps I am just frustrated after giving up my job at the attorney's office, or like HalGal, I, too, am tired of fighting this weight battle. I just have to get back to the exercising. I guess I have done pretty well--not having exercised for over three to four weeks now. I am planning on going back to the gym on Monday!

Can you believe I bought a lemon cream pie yesterday because it was on sale and both my DH and I had two small pieces yesterday at different times. Today, however, it is in the garbage. I do know that Dr. Phil's idea of not having tempting foods around the house is a very "correct" statement.

Well I am going to the mall and plan on walking at least 1-2 hours.

Have a "super" weekend!
