I had a loss of 1.20 lbs at my TOPS weigh-in last night! Part of me is thrilled and then part of me is a little ticked because I worked really hard at the exercise and food last week and I was hoping for a bigger number.
I mean, why is it I can gain 3 lbs in a week but only loose 1? However, I'm going to look it as a true loss. I know that I have lost 3+ more pounds at a weighin and then it just came back on the next week and I've felt that might not have been a true loss. Well, I know this one was. Now, I will do it all again this week (I think of my diet calendar weeks starting on Thursday's) for another loss. We started a new 8 week contest at TOPS for consitant losses and I'm determined to loose each week. I don't want one gain. I'm willing to do what it takes to work towards that. If I loose one pound a week until my cruise then I will have lost 24 lbs and that's 2 1/2 dress sizes...sounds great to me! Time to get to work. Have a great day ladies! Susie |
Hey guys,

Does life get any better?????? Gonna have an orange and big glass o water and then get out my whip and tame the paper tiger. |
I'm so pissed off today (scuse language). I only lost .5lb this week. I"ve been so good all week (maybe too good and not eating enough? it's been worrying me but I didn't eat a lot to start with and I just changed what I ate rather than the amount as it were), hubby and I have been cooking every night, all wholewheat low fat stuff so it suits both of us and I lose a mingy half a pound! It's ok I have told my self a loss is a loss, and it's not going to spoil my new eating habits but oh man!
On the brighter side, with not taking in all the sugar and crap (I have insulin resistance) I feel wonderful! I have energy, I don't feel like taking an afternoon nap anymore and a bit TMI, I actually feel 'in the mood for love' as it were. PCOS can really make your sex drive diminish with all the mixed up hormone crap and I feel like a young chick in the throes of spring love! lol It's so nice to feel like this again. I felt like my libido had upped and gone and was never coming back. The sun is shining! It was 70 degrees here yesterday, the windows are open, things are sprouting in more than my garden! lol I am going to go over to my mother-in-laws house today to clear more stuff out (she died last year), most of it is done there's just stuff there we don't really know what to do with and no one has staked a claim on! (or have room to store it!) Tomorrow I am going to start on my yards. We only moved in last September and I didn't get a chance to do anything with the yards as we were decorating/remodelling etc and the previous owner liked pebbles on her flowerbeds! So lot's of work for me as I am pretty useless in the gardening department. I bought 2 grecian urn type flower pots yesterday and some potting soil, so I shall grab a few blooms while I am out today and get those planted at least! That's about it for now, good going girls with all your plans! Here's to a healthy happy week! Sarah |
I lost 2 pounds this week! I have been so frustrated (like many of you), because I've either maintained or gained for the past 4 weeks. My only real concern is that I've been on Spring Break this week, so I've been able to put in some serious miles. How can I maintain this loss (or preferably lose more) when I go back to work starting Monday???
Anyway.....I had to report that I lost! Thanks for your support and I hope you have a great weekend! Michele  |
Good evening girls!!! Everone souds like they are doing great!! I overdid it a little with the food yesterday, and today, but I dh and I just started at the gym so I am going a little easy for now. will get back to the grindstone tomorrow. Dh and I are back at the gym on Monday!! I really am loving it, and the kidds love the play room. So nice not to have to worry about who has to watch them. Dh and I can work out and have some together time. Have to run, time for saturday bath time...For the kiddies of course.

One Day at a Time
Hello everyone.
I had another good weight loss this 2nd week of being on WW. I'm so excited and proud of myself. It's only a little over five pounds, but I just keep thinking to myself: I'm DOING it! Consciously, logically, and healthfully. I don't want to make any long-term goals. I just want to tell myself that I want to do the same thing I did the week before and have some sort of loss at the scale next Saturday. I tend to get wrapped up in a "goal", rather than just taking it day to day. I wanted to share a couple things I've done in the past couple weeks: I go grocery shopping right after my Weight Watchers meeting. When I get home, I separate items like crackers and pretzels into single serving snack bags. I mark points on boxes for cereal and granola bars, etc. I separate meat into servings for DH and I and write points on the freezer bags. Every night, I have my gym bag and workout clothes ready, and my lunch packed for the next day. When 4.30a comes, I have everything ready. Also, I buy fresh veggies for stir-fry: chinese greens, bean sprouts, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, etc and I chop them up and put them in a gallon size freezer bag...so when I get home from work, I just grab a couple handfuls for a quick stir-fry with cooking spray. I also take the weekends off of exercising - it feels weird, but you definitely need time off of exercise for your body and mind. I keep thinking I should go, but I'm forcing myself not to...this is my time off - and I'll be ready to get back to in on Monday, 4.30a. This week, I want to work on the nibbling thing! I nibbled a lot last week! Kenyetta: Welcome! You have come to the right place. We can get to 199 together :) Michele: That's my middle name, with one L too! Congratulations on your loss! Is there any way you can continue the same amount of exercise when you are off of Spring Break? I decided that the only way I could get my exercise in is to wake up 2 hours earlier and it's been worth it. Good luck this week! Sarah: A loss is definitely a LOSS! Good for you! I'm glad that you and your hubby cook together. I wish my hubby could - he works late often, but I try to have something ready when he gets home. I didn't know about the loss of "that lovin feeling" with PCOS - I'm going to have to read up about that... Holly: Your post about the kids being outside and hubby gathering wood...makes my want to sing, "Our house...is a very very very fine house..." :) Ellen, Debbie, Susie: have a wonderful week. Girlie |
.....and two cats in the yard.............................................. .
Apparently we had a storm in the night but i didn't hear it. I was up and bathed , out chili in the crockpot and out the door by 7:30 am. Skipping church today. Gonna putter and R&R til noon and then go back for more hockey and then DD and I are going to the city to dollar store shop and do Grandma's hair. I may nap first :? HUGS!! |
Hey everyone,
I've had a great morning. Just been sitting around....being lazy. I cleaned out my closet last night and gave away all my clothes that don't fit. I feel better, now I have no clothes over a 20 now. I have to keep going or I'll be naked... LOL. :carrot: Girlie: ::cp: WAY TO GO.... Thank you. You shared some wonderful ideas. I'll give them a try. I keep hoping they will start a WW on another night. The one that is less than 25 miles away is on a thurs night at 6:30. I have to work til 7:00. I'm still doing the on-line but I know I would do so much better at a group meeting. MIchele: :bravo: YOU ARE DOING GREAT :carrot: Sarah: :cp: YOU ARE DOING GREAT! Don't be discouraged. Are you keeping a food diary. It's a little trouble but really worth it. Gardening is great exercise. Have fun with it. Holly: Have fun!!! |
Debbie, I don't keep a food diary but I know what I ate because dh and I plan and buy our meals for the week. Maybe I should post a couple of typical days meals and you can all analyse them for me!
You have to remember I am not counting points or counting anything really! I simply switched to complex carbs and no sugar added foods as sugar is the devil to me and makes me really quite ill. Here's a couple of typical days from this week: On waking: Water, cup of tea made with 1% milk & sweet & low B: Small bowl of whole grain cheerios with 1% milk (dogs get the leftover milk) S: Cup of tea (as above) L: 1 small pitta bread filled with grated cheese and chopped onion. No sugar added kozyshack individual rice pudding. Grapes. Water. S: Banana D: Salad with No carb dressing. Small slice of wholewheat garlic bread. 1/4lb of wholewheat pasta made into carbonara (made with carb options alfredo sauce, turkey bacon, chopped onions and thin sliced deli ham). Activia yoghurt. Pear. Water. Cup of tea. On waking: Water. Cup of tea. B: 2 grilled turkey sausages, small helping of egg beaters. Slice of toasted wholewheat italian bread with low fat marg and sugar free raspbery jam. Grapes. Water. L: 2 slices of WW wholewheat bread, one side spread with dijon mustard, other side spread with salad cream (British miracle whip type stuff), 1 slice on thin turkey breast, 1 slice of thin ham, sliced cucumber). No sugar added yoghurt. Water. S: Cup of tea, pear. D: Salad with no carb dressing. Shared a huge sirloin steak between me and dh (we made 2 but could only manage 1 between us! - rare for dh!!!), tbsp small peas, 2 organic olive oil and salt oven fry things. Water. Half a huge orange. *Note: My salads are made up of greens (various), shredded carrot, grated cheese, hard boiled egg, olives, beets. Years ago when I was on the Vitaline PCOS diet, they have you eat a nibble (what they call a burn) every 15 minutes or so - just a slice of mushroom or cucumber or carrot - I just kept a huge tub in the fridge to grab from - plus to drink hot water and lemon first thing in the morning - cleans you out and keeps your metabolism going and I lost weight very successfully - I don't remember how quickly or how much per week however. I was thinking of going back to doing a similar thing. I stopped the Vitaline diet due to costs but I carried on on my own and developed my own plan from knowledge I gained from the 4 week plan they gave me and I carried on losing weight. I'm actually being more strict I would say this time by making everything wholewheat and sugar free. Am I eating enough? I'm certainly pleasantly full when I leave the table, I always leave something on the plate. I've never been an overeater (weird thing to say on this board huh!), sugar has been the thing that kills me (something I wish I had known 20 years ago!) I do feel wonderful and it's not just the metformin as I have tried metformin without making any changes to my diet and didn't really feel that much better, all it did was straighten out my periods etc. I'm trying to make sure I eat plenty of 'greens' and fruit, bread has kinda lost it's allure - i was always a toast in the morning, sandwich at lunchtime, bread with dinner type person. The only potatoes I've eaten this week was the 2 organic fries! Surely if I feel like I have eaten enough then I'm not going wrong? Exercise is something we are working up to to do together as dh has had arthoscopic surgery on both knees and also has herniated discs in his back, he surprised me totally the other day by parking inbetween the 2 stores we needed to go to instead of parking outside one and then driving to the other! So he is feeling the benefits too! Yesterday when I was doing housework I used my old muse and did it to music and danced around while I was doing it(much to dh's liking! lol), walked around the back yard with the dogs (mind you the weather has warmed up!). I didn't get over to mil's house but I did clean out our garage and put some stuff in the attic. If this weather keeps up I will be walking a lot more and dh has said he will come too altho he may not be able to go too far to start with. C'mon girls, lay it on me, am I doing ok? Sarah |
Sarah: You are doing great. I'm an overeater so I track my food because I tend to eat mindlessly if I don't.
I'm counting pts now but still watch my sugar/carb intake. I'm very aware of the effect simple carbs can have on your system. Dh cholestrol was way out of control. I cut back on his carbs and it made a hugh difference. Have a great rest of the w-end. :carrot: |
Hello,
I just typed a big long posts with personals and everthing and then it didn't show up! I had a great workout this afternoon. I'm going to add 15 min of tonning each morning to my workouts. When I exercise I stay on track. I don't feel like retyping the posts but I want everyone to know that I love reading your posts and they motivate me very much. Have a good evening everyone. Susie |
