Hope its not too late in the game to join this group.
I started fresh March 1st...in hopes of getting to goal weight of 170.
I am 28 and I am getting married this coming August and my wedding dress isn't too forgiving, ha.

Starting Weight: 218.0
Last Weigh in: 212.8

Looking forward to getting to know the gals that know what its like to be in the 200's and longing for 199!

Take care.

I have been reading the messages and everyone seems so helpful and understanding. I was just dx with Hypothyroid on Monday so now that I know why I wasnt able to lose weight now I can begin to work on loosing weight. We live in a very small community so we dont have weight watchers or any thing like that so I am on my own. We do have a curves but I am not comfortable going by myself. Plus I am one of those who dont like to go and work out alone because I wont go. If I am meeting someone I will go but other than that I wont go. I have been walking to the park with my 4 year old as often as I can. I do bowl on Wed. night but you cant really call that excersise. So I will have a long slow road ahead and a lot of bad habits to break. I am looking forward to the support that I have seen here.
I am working hard to get below 200 and feel that I am back to my old self and feeling confident again .:grouphug:

Welcome applbride and ksjaberjaw! They really are a great bunch here and took me right under their wing!

I am feeling a bit better today. The queasiness has finally subsided but I still have this awful 'pain' in my side. It's not a continuous pain, doesn't hurt when I press on it (or on the opposite side), it hurts when I bend over or get out of bed - like I have a pin in my pocket and it sticks in me when I bend! It feels like a pinch! Got a doc's appt tomorrow anyway so will get it checked out. Just my 2 monthly check up for bp and to make sure I am doing ok with my metformin. Might even be a burst cyst cos it sounds the way other girls have described them on the PCOS forum I read. Either that or the carb lite jelly beans really did a number on me!

Girlie, you CANNOT eat spotted dick without custard, omg that's a sin!

Well, that's about it for today, I am still eating pretty light so as not to upset my stomach, if I do ok at the docs tomorrow and it's not too expensive I am going to join Curves. Anyone know how much they cost?

Thanks everyone. Yes I did curves it is 150 to join and 39 a month. At least that is what it was last year at this time. I didnt go. I could always come up with an excuse. That is why I am working out with my daughter. She is four and she will drive you nuts until you get up and take her to the park. So it is nice to have someone to make sure I get up and moving around.

Thanks ks! I won't be joining this month then! Will have to wait a couple of months till the tourists get here and our income picks up a bit!!!

Ang, well done for getting to onederland! Just make sure when the doc takes you off paxil that your tastebuds don't get the better of you!

Sarah

upswife 03-17-2006 11:34 AM

Ang~you should still tell your doc about the side effect, it may lead to others, adn he/she should know. they prob will not take you off of it if that is the only side effect

I am doing better today, I cab't believe that I allowed myself to go like that yesterday. Back on track today, adn I can't wait to go to the gym!! Dh has a late meeting and I have to go into Chicago for a group outing today, so we are going to go to the gym a little later than normal, but still loking forward to it. Official WI is tomorrow, so I am hopeful! All I am looking for is to be back to pre cruise weight!! I can't believe that it has taken me two months to get there!

Good morning all,
I'm on Paxil too, don't want ot chance the nasty postpartum depression I had with my first son. But I haven't had the added benefit of wacked out tastebuds, bummer....no seriously, that would be nice
well, I'm still with the office papers....

Girlie 03-17-2006 02:54 PM

Hello,

Hope all of you are having a happy day. I'm getting excited - boss told us all we can leave early, and DH and I planned a very spontaneous road trip to Madison, WI. We leave right after work.

Since I'll be gone this weekend, I went to weigh in over lunch. I'm down another 2 pounds. I'm so excited.

Have a great weekend all!!!

Well back from the trip....ate way to much....mostly out of boredom, but what the heck.....So came back Wed. night and went out "healthy food shopping" yesterday. Bought some of the 100 cal packets of chips and crackery things, Salad fixings, diet pop, sugar free international coffees, bananas, cereal, yogurt, and milk. Today went to the "meat store" (BTW no spotted dick anyway in sight!!!) and got chicken breasts, 85% ground beef, pork chops, pork loin, and stuffed peppers. My plan is to eat cereal for breaky, yogurt and fruit for lunch, a 100 cal snack in the afternoon, and make myself a healthy dinner with a decent protein and salad for dinner. Maybe not the perfect diet, but got in the protein, dairy, whole grains, fruits, and veggies.....Start back to the Y tomorrow!!!

I am feeling good about this plan...feels "livable".

I am on Paxil as well, LOL, it is my "drug of choice" I know if I don't take it I get very irritable and unable to handle little stresses.....and panic hits on the big ones...so just best off on it! I get an occasional bout of a bad taste, like metal, in mouth, but it comes and goes with no real reason. I had a significant loss of appetite when I first went on it....took well over 3 months for that to subside.....eating was impossible back then. Every time I change a dosage, I get the same reaction...Doc that that is a normal side effect that goes.....I have been on it for several years now so no real side effects anymore and I am "kinder and gentler" :)

OK, I 've been to the docs, he was over the moon at my weight loss! My bp was normal! Even tho I am on BP meds last time I went to see him (2 months ago) it was still sky high. So he has halved my dose which is wonderful, hopefuly I will be able to get off these darn pills eventually! The pain in my side he says is a strained muscle. That would make sense cos the day I got the poopies is also the day I was dancing round the house like a total nutjob for 2 hours doing my housework. He reckons a combination of that and my few hours on the loo helped me strain something. The pain has actually lessened today but he told me to keep an eye on it.

After reading the Curves threads and talking to a friend who joined the Curves locally, it seems I should watch out for the joinup specials, where they waive the joining fee for a bag of food for the food banks etc or clothes so I am going to find out if they have anything going on at the moment. It also seems that it depends on what State you live in as to how much the joining fee is!!! Doc told me to wait until the pain in my side has gone until I start major major exercise.

So, a good day all in all, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Sarah
