I can't see...I'm in tears too....:cry: and I'm listening to a lovely compilation CD and having got through Barber's Adagio it is now playing Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven...chill out music to die for.
Deep breaths Joy...he is having so much fun at the end of that rainbow. Don't laugh, but I have sprained my forefinger of my right hand! Goodness only knows how, but it sure makes for long heavy work typing!! :comp: :comp: I had an appointment with my G.P. this morning...I gave him the part of the form he has to fill in...he said this was the easy bit! When the benefits office gets that one it opens up the door to a huge long thing that he has to fill in....I bet he loves me!! Actually he is very good and I like him a lot... I am having a problem with next doors cat, Toby. He has suddenly started sitting my front door, driving Holly-polly absoutely bananas...I'm suprised I still have a front window!! We walked the 20 minute walk to a friend of mine who is a professional seamstress. She is going to take mum's new skirt up and IN!! (Coo I should be so lucky...mum's a stick insect!!) And take my new trousers up. The walk took twice as long as normal 'cos I bumped into my neighbour out the back. She has lost about 2 1/2 stone apparently so I demanded of her how she did it? Her daughter bought a horse a while ago and she walks down to see it twice a day, so is doing probably more excercise than ever before...also the whole family got a stomach bug so she simply doesn't fancy food anymore...cor, 'praps I should get a bug!!! I have a rather nice birthday dinner in store actually on my birthday. A hotel...The Lynford House Hotel about 30 minutes away is having a Spanish Dinner night on my birthday, so my neighbour and I are going! Yum yum yum!!!:hungry: :T :T :cheers:I have given up looking for a Chinese reataurant for mid-July. I think we will end up going to the local carvery and then go for a drink in a pub...or perhaps The Angel...afterwards! I do hope the weather is good...I LOVE sitting in a pub garden on a fine summers evening.....with a pint of shandy!! I know...I'm shameless really!! :lol3: :lol3: Bye for now..... |
  TEEL i hope that pub serves slim line tonic? im inviting myself so ill bring my own diet irn bru it will be a good birthday like the sound of the spanish night and i sympathise about the cat my psycho hates everything but has a particular dislike of cats and birds fortunately she hasnt managed to catch anything yet  SHAD the nutter will hold you to that promise and youll need to make sure that sunday doesnt end up one very fat cat or shell have to start posting too :comp: do you get diet pet food over there too or is it just us mad british that do silly things like that ?? MEL any news about the chair yet or have missed something ?? :gossip: ROSE what are you up to now ds and girl have gone home ? isnt there a special nickname for the service that deals with fires as a sort of hit squad for some strange reason i keep thinking its pile jumpers i know thats not right but do you know what it is maybe you can ask ds for me !!! :nose: HAPPY weve stopped crying now its safe to come back whats happening in your neck of the woods?? right girls im going to play cultures as my back is playing me up so im stuck in this chair with my heat pad on so ill speak later

After the week we've had we could all use a pint of shandy!!
Tried to read all the posts. I really skimmed through them. Eyes are not great but this is allergy-type problems I think. Reading isa getting to be a chore anyway with the cataracts and my vision. So I will muddle through. Went food shopping and bought chicken and beef. Also got plenty of fruit and veggies. The scale still says 173 so I am happy. I'm trying to go back to my old plan where was losing a pound every week or two. We'll seewhat happens. Hope you are all well. After reading everything I am about run out of Kleenex!!! My blue eyes look "electric" with all the reddness! Have a great night and good morning Sunshine!! |
Linus and teel~ I forgot to tell you that Carlos is coming on Friday to make the adjustments and bring me a new seat! I have my fingers crossed that it will feel good and this mes resolved!!!
|
The rest of us are also :crossed: with everything that will cross that the mess will be cleared up and you will be zooming out and about and terrorising the neighbourhood at speed.
Linus, so sorry to hear the back is again painful. Maybe we all need a dose of alcohol to 'fix whatever ails us' (as my gran used to say). Yes it's time for Happy and Rose to come back and check in. We almost need a new home again. Seems each season change means we have to move house. I have gotten over the worst I think. I'm still missing my main man but being alone (which is different from loneliness) is something I will get used to I suppose. What I need to do now is to get back to a routine which will allow me to go forward. The old routine is gone and will not return. So now that DS is serious about getting his new house, I will get him settled and get on with my own life wherever it may take me. Weigh in time and measurements coming up at the end of this week. Could be interesting? Well one hopes so. Okay, gotta go. A good friend said to me yesterday that I need to get myself back down to the doctor for something to stop me coughing. It's going to be today. 8/00am I will go one down to the surgery and check out the waiting time. Then at 10 I have a house to look at for DS. Catch up later. |
:coach:I'm getting the PROD from Linda incase you don't go!! :rollpin: :drill:
|
Hey, I went alrighty. Results of the tests taken a week or so ago are as follows.
Blood sugar up a little on fasting test. Not much to get worried about but enough for him to give me a lecture on what will happen if it is allowed to rise - :drill:yessiree (insert salute here) Cholesterol also up, he wants a reduction. On the average it is only about 2 points above the average, but again :drill: the lecture arrives - yessiree (another salute) Get on scale, what is food intake like. :eating2: Go through list. Seems I am doing okay in that direction and am doing as much as possible. Strike one for the patient:cp: :cp:. Go do a glucophage test in a couple of months time - takes 2hours :yikes:  :faint: blurk - I've had one before that stuff tastes 'orrible. And even worse I can't have my morning coffee. :coffee: The cough is nothing to worry about and will disappear along with the stress levels. Use the Vicks inhaler to help clear the sinuses. :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: Doc (this is a new one) could actually do with a bit of dieting himself. He's as wide as he is tall  :lol3: Teel, I meant to mention earlier, I have been listening too to music. Not Beethoven but Rodrigo's Concerto De Aranuez and believe it or not played by the Shadows (remember them) It seemed appropriate since Shad was short for Shadow, and was very peaceful and almost relaxation music. I've just had a call to say my man's ashes are to be returned this afternoon. Okay, fine, I can deal with that. I had to have a few words with Simon last night as when he came in he was looking for the dog to say hi to him. It was their usual ritual. He found that hard. But also he was feeling guilty because he had to have the dog put down. He feels he should have done some more for his companion in crime as they were. That was a bit hard to deal with. Okay no more. I've just been to look at a house for Simon. It's not bad but will need some work to make it a really nice place. Nothing flash, has a huge yard and at the moment is stuffed to the gunnels with all sorts of stuff. Seems that most people are hoarders in this area! These ones are also Muslim hoarders. The place is full of religious bits and pieces and posters. Good heavens. Sometimes it is hard to see the place without the stuff in it and with Simons stuff in it. The place will certainly not be stuffed then, he doesn't have much. Okay, time to get a drink, go get changed and get on with the day. Be good or be careful. :coffee: anyone? |

Mel, sorry to hear the eyes are infringing on you again. Hope they get you fixed up soon and crusing around in the new chair. Good for you on maintaining your weight. Teel, your birthday plans sound like they will be a lot of fun. Too bad the Chinese buffet didn't work out - sometimes maybe a buffet isn't the best choice though it does work well for having a bit of something for everyone. My problem is that I have a bit of everyone's something :hungry: :sumo: I really like the idea of the garden party - too bad we can't all be there to celebrate with you but we will be happy to raise a glass 'round the world for you. Fire jumpers - isn't that the name of those people you're thinking of Linus :flame: :flame: name escapes me at the moment - as does most thoughts now a days  I am doing ok. Still not smoking. Mum askes me everytime I talk to her - you smoking yet? No mum, you sure - actually mum, been smoking for 3 weeks now, didn't want to upset you  REALLY, you better not :yikes: No mum, told you I wasn't. Ok, that's a good girl. I have a pain in my bum from the back strain/sciatica of last week's tumble. Makes sitting a royal pain. DH is pestering me to call the doctor. I think it will go away on it's own. But it is annoying. I did plant a few flowers outside but am not in the condition I need to be in to do some major yanking of old growth and clean up. Besides we are under a torrent of rain. Things are flooding like mad here (tho we are not in danger) and yet out west by your friend Shad, they are in a terrible drought. Of course there are alot more lakes and rivers in this part of the country than by your friend - there they depend on the mountain snows for their water. And I guess it hasn't been snowing much in the mountains the last few years. Eee gads, 1 am already. Don't know where the night's go to. I would be happy to start another thread - might be time as you say. New thread name or are we Around the world - 2nd equator trek? Let me know. Night all. I made a wonderful Carribean Chicken Salad for dinner tonight - copy cat recipe from one of our local restaurants. Quite tasty, will post tomorrow if anyone's interested. |
This website sure acts funny late at night. I submitted my post and it told me it was a duplicate. I would have been mighty peeved if I had lost it. Seems to get this way after midnight. Perhaps it's bewitched ??? OOOOOhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooohhhh

Good morning!:coffee:
Shad...what does a "gluophage test" entail? Do tell!! I was pleased to see you liked the Concerto d'Aranjuez...I actually played it once...no not on the guitar, but in the orchestra that was playing for the soloist! I like the second movement. I have just had a phone call from Buckingham Palace...oh alright then...the ticket booking office! :smug: As I think you all know by now, my friend Alan and his 2 children and me are going to London in August...and I have booked tickets for the Palace and The Mews. Apparently, the "wheelchair assistant" gets in free!! AND....if you arrive by car...you need to have given in the details of the vehical (be it yours or a taxi) 'cos for special access wheelchair users can be dropped off at a particular entrance...and to get there the car goes over the Palace forecourt  :smug: :smug:  Neat, eh? Shame HM is not there...can't drop in for tea and cucmber sandwiches... :queen: :cofdate: :lol3: Happy, A CONTINUED WELL DONE ON THE STOPPING SMOKING!! You are a star!! NO....a galaxy!! :cheer: :cheer: Mel....here's hoping that chair of yours finally comes..you have waited long enough. Don't go over-using it and wearing it out in the first 24 hours...! I had a really tasty dinner last night...pasta with sweetcorn, smoked haddock and mascopone cheese. Fairly healthy I think...the cheese was 25% less fat. It's a bit cooler out there today. I don't sit in the sun but yesterday I managed to get burnt on my neck just going for a 20 minute walk with the hound...ouch! I have been watching a nest of baby spiders that is hanging on to my aliums....they are so cute and so, so minute... There must be about fifty or more I think, and I love being a  nuisance and just touching the web and weatching them all scatter in all directions like a star burst...then a few hours later they are all back in a tight little ball...funny. However today only about a dozen are still to be seen...the others have all disappeared...I just hope they have gone to live in the direction of the garden and not the house...I don't think I fancy lots and lots and lots of baby spiders co-habiting!!!....What are baby spiders called anyway?? :D |
It's a revolting sugar level test. You go sit in the medical centre - having fasted all night and they do a sugar test. Then you have this revoltingly sweet drink and wait until it is absorbed into the blood stream and they do another test. It seems my blood sugar levels were at 6.1 which is apparently only .1 or so above the reasonable high level. It's not much to worry about, but this new doc is being very clever. My cholesterol level is apparently unacceptable as well and I have to get that down. So I am to carry on being good with diet and cutting out the fatty bits (shame) and keeping up the exercise. I gather that it is not that far over the normal either and I scored great with the hdl's and high with the ldl's so - gathering the two together it is not too bad, but hey. Anyway he tells me to lose weight!!!!! Umm yes doc - but if I might be so bold, I think you are fatter than me!!!!
HM was not there when I went to the changing of the guard either so I had to make do with hanging around the gate. Will we be allowed to talk to you after you have been to the palace? Is Alan the same bloke we bombarded with messages last time you were in hospital??? Inquiring minds wish to know!!!:nose: Get your suncream out little one!!! You will need it if the weather patterns continue as they did last year. Particularly if you are going to London. Bedtime calls. Hey, here's a laugh for you all. I applied for a job today. Closing date for the job was 26th May, so I put in the application in plenty of time. :lol3: and I get an email back saying (and I quote) Thank you for your application for the position of Computer Training Spec in the Learning Assistance Servs, INS at Griffith University. Your application will shortly be considered and we expect that a shortlist will be determined within the next four to eight weeks. If you do not receive an invitation to participate in an interview, then unfortunately, you will not have been successful for the position on this occasion. Four to Eight Weeks - who the **** do they think they are????? Geez wayne. |
 Good evening Shad......are we calling you Joy now?? Coo that's a long wait to see if you have evn been short listed..cor..do they think you can just sit around waiting?.:dizzy: ..is it a good job prospect though? Would you like it??
Alan is a very good friend of mine...so is his wife and the 2 kids. Alan was my lodger for about 13 months a good few years ago now when he got a new teacher's post at one of the high schools in Bury St Eds. It took that long for the family home to be sold so he stayed with me. He is a lovely man....(found him too darn late!!) and I love his children, Ruth and Luke, age 11 and 8 respectively. aNNE, HIS WIFE, IS LETTING ME TAKE THEM ON HOLIDAY....ooh damn CAPS!! I think he has a rather good deal, actually. He gets in free as the wheelchair assistant. I'm a bit reserved about taking both children...they can have almighty strops ...perhaps I'll take them to the Dungeons and lock them in seperate cells so they cannot kill each other..!! Oh yes, Alan and family now live in Derby. I miss them terribly. The Dr. doesn't sound a very good role model, m'dear!! ;) Tell him you'll take him seriously when he has lost a stone or two!! Well I'd better scoot. I've got an appointment with my physio this afternoon. My back is terrible at the moment but seeing as I'm not on any pain killers at the moment (STILL waiting for Dr. Munglani's appointment...3 weeks to go!!) I suppose it is doing ok. She is also trying to sort outmy chondritis by manipulating my ribs...uh oh!! Gosh...and I have just realised...3 weeks till my birthday....coo....20 days left of being 39!! I had promised myself I would not be "fat, fair, female and forty!" Haven't done very well, have I? uNLIKE tASHA, ON THE uk SITE...SHE IS OFFICIALLY not overweight anymore..!! Good on you, girl!!! |
A very ITCHY day
I itch all over but no signs as to why!? god just what I needed. I just took a Zyrtec(allergy) pill :crossed: just one more hurdle!!!
Shad~ Glad you went. Sorry about some of the news. I'm surprised as you did so well the last time!???? Good luck with the test! I hate them too. Very GAGGY liquid! My heart goes out ot you! It's better when it's cold. But not by much! Shadow. The name reminfded me of a Walt disney program from years ago. I think that was the name of the dog and the show. Or White Shadow maybe. Don't envy you the digging job. Say goodbye from Aunt Mel too. Hope the numbers change with the next test! :crossed: Teel~ sorry about the back. Hope it feels better soon. I liked the idea of the Palace calling!!! Sounded soooo classy! Funny you should talk about baby spiders. Before I turned on this thing, I thought that's what it felt like with this itching! I thought of fruit flies too(as the yanks call themm0 But I have so many spots already in my eyes that I couldn't see one of my life depended on it!! Must ask jet to trot downsatairs to see! I'll havew her look for your spiders too! Happy~ I laughed at you and Mom. but I must admit......I could hardly wait for people to stop asking me that question!!! It made me so very cranky after awhile that I was forced to say something. It kept reminding me of what I was doing! and then I wanted ONE!!!! Continued success dear friend. You have come a LONG way!! Must be very proud of yourself by now!!! Where are the others? Slacking off no doubt!!! Eyes are not greatly improved. Dusted off the new chair again. Could have used it yesterday at the store! I must make another meatloaf and fruit salad. Don't want to screw up this week of near perfection. Have a great day and take care! |
Shad~ How could they think someone could wait that long and THEN NOT TO GET A LETTER OR CALL!! God the nerve of some people!!! sound cruel to me!!! Wonder how they treat the employees!!! Good luck!!!
|
Well Girls my face is a lovely shade of red. I look like a frassing tomato with electric blue eyes!!! The pharmacist is sending over some benedryl pills to help the allergy pill work faster. It's not the rosacea cause it itches. I had strawberries this morning and right after that the itching started. Many years ago I had hives in High School. Also strawberries. But haven't had it in all this time. he said it could also be the bugspray they used or whatever. told me to wash them and freeze them till I see what this is. Also told me eating them EVERY day was NOT a good thing :( Will This cycle off bad luck never end! See you all later. The saga of Mel continues........................
