Now and then there is a fool such as I!!! :o

Thanks Elvis.

Yes well when I left you yesterday I was off to the gym to run and row and stretch. So I get there, find a park go to the gym do the warm up bit - so far so good. Jump on the treadmill and set it up - weight, time, etc get it moving along. About a minute into the run I know that something is wrong, I can't keep up and it is all too hard. Surely the step class hasn't taken this much out of me. So I force myself to keep going and finally after 8 minutes of running and sweating like a piggy, I look down and there on the :tread: it tells me the incline is set at 3 - I'm trying to run up flaming Mt Everest! No wonder I am feeling it :dizzy: :dizzy:   :?: :?: So gasping for breath I lower the thing to it's normal 1. It helps but I could not run anymore, I was totally stuffed. I finished the :workout: at a fast walk :tread: and my legs were like jelly when I was done. :yikes: am I trying to kill myself or what  :D  :cb: :cb: :cb:

Anyway I went over and did the weights and some more stretches and finished up with the usual on the rowing machine  showered, came home and slept on the couch for a very long afternoon nap. Am I  or what?

Simon bought pizza for dinner last night. Ordered it on his way home after checking to see I hadn't made a banquet for 600 or so and got me a Supreme Delite - which was nice of him but the actual pizza is pretty tasteless with fat free cheese and not much else. The crust I might add is not fat free nor grease fress. Anyway I only ate 3 very small slices and have left the rest for the dog tonight. He'll eat it!!!

Not going to the gym today. Have other plans for my time - don't quite know what they are yet, but will figure something out. Exercse of any description will be gentle  :jig: but not :tread: or :strong:

Good to hear from Renae and Teel again. Teel, what is the problem with that computer? You seem to have more trouble than most - maybe you just need to clear out the files and reorganise it or something.

Happy is no doubt on the last of the school work and has furrowed brow over website etc. etc. Can't wait to see this website up and working. Evening to Teel and Linus and g'day to Happy, Nae, and Mel.

Gotta go find something to do. :coffee: is nearly finished.

MELODY525 05-15-2004 09:36 AM

Shad~ Well Miss Jelly Legs, I have come to feel that anything that is "light" or "lite" tastes like crap!!! :rofl:But it was the thought that counts! Finding a good man is hard enough, now you want miracles with one that knows foreplay?! Jeez, some women are never "satisfied"~~~
Are you trying to kill yourself with exercise in hopes to end the dieting?!?! NO WAY JOSE!!!!

Kirsty~ You know the saying...Into each life a little rain must fall/ Well I always have deluges! I am confident that even if the rosacea comes back, I can get it into remission so the cataracts can get surgically removed one way or the other. From what he said it's a matter of timing. I was a little shocked so when I go back in 2 months I wll seek more advice. The shock was because one of the "student" type Drs said the good news was I HAD NO cataracts or glaucoma. Someone made a boo boo:( It sdeems we have a LOT in common!

Nae~ It seems like a very tough year for so many people I know and don't know. Jen and I were just talking about this the other night. Makes it tough to plod onward!
But having these "worldly" chicks makes all the difference in the world to me also. I was floating out there on a raft when they dragged my wet and weak body into their fold:D Glad your signing prayer went so well. It's good for your inner you to have that feeling:D SNOW!!!! OMG I can't believe it. Tuesday here was coldish and now the heat and humidity are going up and down like a yoyo. Don't know what to wear but I know I won't need my snowtires anymore at least!!! I had a laugh today......AOL has a "transforming" screen and I changed it the other day to a new one. It goes along with the time of day from light to dark and what was there today? On the tree which is the main part of the pic was a WOODPECKER poised and ready to peck!!! I cracked up and immediately thought of you! Could this be yours?!

Teel~ Hope the PC gets fixed and we see you more and find out how everything is going!!!!

Happy~ Hugs for the continued success!!!

Well kids I have to make rice and clean the house. No slacker mel today!! I also have my list of promises to myself for this weeks challenge to keep me straightened out!
Have a wonderful weekend and see ya later!

teel 05-15-2004 11:12 AM

I really don't know why the poot kept crashing yesterday...twice I suddenly had a message saying IE had to close 'cos they had encountered a problem and they were sorry for any inconvenience...Inconvenience!! I should co-co!! :nono:  :headache: but so far today it seems to be behaving itself...
I have had a very active day...for me, at any rate!! My lawn has not been mowed for a month so I thought I would just get on and do it before any rain meant it got too wet to be cut again :flow2: :fr: :faint: It took about 20 minutes but I am still here to tell the tale :smug: :bravo: :strong: :cp: quite what I will feel like in a few hours time I daren't think about too closely!!
The grass was still quite wet in the ultra long bits and I have turned Holly into WHITE WITH GREEN TUMMY AND LEGS WESTIE!!! Ooooh deary me she does look a sight to behold!!!
Anyway I am about to zip off to the supermarket with my neighbour so I shall come back later....ta ta, and Linus....For heaven's sake put that housework away and give your body some time to recover.....byeeeeeee. xx

Shad 05-15-2004 06:58 PM

Geez linus, you put me to shame with the housework stuff. Have a rest girl.
This is just a quick check in as I am going to the Timber and Woodworking show with the DS. Should be fun. I'll check in later tonight to let you know how it went. If we don't go soon we will have to park 2 k away and that will be my daily exercise walking the hills.
Best go get the paper, do the dishes and get myself dressed.

happy2bme 05-16-2004 02:25 AM

Hey peoples... finally FINISHED the schoolwork. Yippeeeeee  BUT.... in keeping with the computer woes that you all seem to be experiencing - my monitor keeps dying out. Very hard to work on the computer with a black monitor. DH said we will try to get a new video card tomorrow. Till then I am somewhat computerless. Will catch up with you tomorrow evening hopefully...

Shad 05-16-2004 06:09 AM

Yep, hard to see what you have written when it is black. Also very difficult to decide on where the button that you want to push is placed. Don't want to hit the wrong one.

We went to the wood and timber show. It was not as good as I hoped. But there were some good things there. Some big money to be spent as well. Most of the big stuff is for the business people and not for the likes of us who would have to shift out into the shed and let the new equipment live in the house. You'd need the New Yankee Workshop to even get a couple of those things inside!! Anyway I saw some wonderful bits of timber for the top of the vanity. And the prices weren't too bad either for a change. I liked the timber with the wavy grainy lines of heart timber and naturally enough Simon went for the dark monocoloured western red gums or jarrah. But since it is my vanity - I will get what I like. I didn't buy anything. Naturally there were the normal food outlets - lets see! I bet you can guess - Baked Potato stall, Katies Koffee and Kakes, Popcorn and candyfloss, and of course no place is complete without the smelly burger bar.
Instead we came home and had bacon and mushrooms and salad for lunch. Since I wasn't feeling so great, I went back to bed for siesta and DS went to the movies with a friend. Such is life. I feel better now.

Happy, so glad you are finished with school for the summer. Bet that is a weight off your mind.

A green and white Holly - well why not. I have a black, tan and green Shad at the moment. He went racing into a patch of these horrid weeds and they have left their seeds all over him. He is in the middle of a grooming. He's happy.

Eating has been good today. Well within the guidelines of the no crap challenge. And I've done the water bit. Only problem with that is that I will be ding a stack of exercise back and forth to the loo over night.

Aaah well, there is a program coming on tv shortly. I'd best go vegetate in front of the telly. Then I will probably fall asleep in the middle anyway. It must be age.

MELODY525 05-16-2004 10:12 AM

Good morning Ladies. Happy Sunday to all and good night Shad!
I had a great challenge day and hope for many more all strung together this coming week. :D I feel more motivated now than I have since March of last year! maybe cause Friday I went back to my Eating Plan site and had to take down my 30 lbs lost avatar! :cry; If nothing else, that aught to move my butt and keep the right foood in the fridge!! I can no longer tell anyone I lost 31 lbs! Boo Hoo! Well It's my own damned fault and I am in control of this bus. No more wrecks either. It will no longer be acceptable.

Teel~ Hope the pc stays working. Maybe it didn't like what we were saying!
I dread anything happening to this one as I have no clue what to do! I would have to call long distance to the Head Kangaroo for instructions! How goes the back after the mowing?!

Kirsty~ When you are done, you can come and do my skirting!!! I try to dust it from time to time and now find a damp cloth and my "grabber" stick do the trick very nicely:D Hope yopu are able to move today too!!!

Shad~ The show sounded nice. i love wood of any kind. I like shows like that too where you can get some great ideas and dream. Candy floss....now there is a term I have not heard in a long time. Since my Gram died many many years ago. in the states it's called cotton candy. I like floss better. Sometimes this site gives me a trip down memory lane and I remember all the good things that somehow get pushed too far in the back of my head. Nice feeling.

I have all my food ready and measured and packed. Taking no chances for excuses this week. I expect to behave myself no matter what!!! Has anyone heard from Shaker by phone? Where did the lady and the baby go? Is Peacock alive and fluttering her wings? Inquiring minds want to know! Have a great day Ladies and sweet dreams Shad!

MELODY525 05-16-2004 05:44 PM

Off to the showers

Shad 05-16-2004 06:29 PM

What's Mel proving with the angels in the bath tub?? Trying to remind us what an Angel she is? We don't need to be reminded of that our Mel.
Time to head for the gym. See you all later.

Shad 05-17-2004 05:39 PM

Where is everyone? I found us on page 2 this morning. We will become page 3 girls if we are not careful :lol3: Haven't heard from Linus for a couple of days - are you okay, Linus and Teel stop all this coming and going and get on here. Mel and Roseblush  Hello  Am I on my own here?

happy2bme 05-17-2004 06:38 PM

Hello, hello.
Finished my classwork on Saturday. Yesterday was a gloriously beautiful day. DH and I decided to take a trip into the city. First stop Butterfly Garden of course - lots of new specimens and many lovely photographs were taken. We also got a steam bath as it was overly humid in there. Next stop, a walk through the botanical conservatory. Many orchid species were in bloom. We were rounding out the trip with a walk through the zoo. We were only in the park about 10 minutes and deciding on where to have lunch when I took a step and went flying forward. I managed to stay upright but had a searing pain as my back popped. :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: I leaned against a trash can holding my left leg off the ground as I could not step on it. I had apparently stumbled on a large gap between the sidewalk and the worn away dirt. As I stepped my foot went sideways into the hole and I jammed my back. I suppose I have a predisposition to sciatica as I have had a few incidents of jamming my back already from sudden moves such as a slip on ice or a near fall. DH didn't quite know what to do. As I tried to take a few steps and nearly went crashing to the ground, I was at a loss myself. He certainly couldn't carry me and I was not about to call an ambulance. He hobbled me to a nearby bench where I sat for about 10 minutes. I knew it was the sciatic nerve right away. The car was about 1/4 mile away and there was no way he could drive up to get me. So I just had to grit my teeth, hobble slowly and hang on to DH. There is a certain movement which I'm never sure of until I make it which causes pain to radiate from my back all up my spine to my neck and down to my ankle on the left side. It also causes me to inhale deeply and go pffffffffttttttttttttt. After a night on the heating pad and many anti-inflammatories I am feeling a bit better today but not cocky over confident. It will take about 4 days to heal up but sitting for any length of time is just not going to happen right now. So I haven't been on the computer much at all, hence my lack of correspondence. Leg pain is kicking in again, I must get up now and stand up for a bit.

Hope to catch up with you all tomorrow...

Shad 05-17-2004 06:53 PM

OOOh I'm sorry Happy, I know how much that hurts. You just take it easy now. Ouch I can almost feel the pain. :grouphug:

MELODY525 05-17-2004 08:37 PM

I came to rant here and found Happy in pain!!! OPUCH!!! I'm so sorry to hear this and on such a nice outing too!!! :( How sad is that?! Have you tried ice? I usuallyu get better faster with ice and the anti inflams. I hope you'll be feeling better soon!

Shad~ Had a lot to do today and missed everyone!! Sorry you were all alone!

Well the new wheelchair is here. They sent the same driver and that is all the good news. The bad news is that jen and I think the chair is too small for me but I am not certain. I can't even test it out good cause the lap tray is too tight for me and they forgot the tool that comes with the chair so you can take it off! The lights don't work, the chest belt is not there, the seat belt is too small, the back rest maybe too short and the head rest will not stay in a locked position. I just left a scathing message for the girl to give her boss. I also felt he should have been here for the delivery to oversee any adjustments. I have shopping tomorrow and mammogram on Wednesday so I told them it would have to be Thurs or Fri. I told them I am turning off the cell phone and they can leave a message on my ans. machine as I am in no mood to talk to them. I said I will call them back on Thursday as I won't be home early enough on Wed. I don't think. I am truly pissed off and they have no excuse good enough for this fiasco. It's small potatoes and can be fixed but the kid had no idea about anything. Carlos has a lot to answer for. When I spoke to him he apologized and said the tool would be out there by thursday along with the MISSING BATH CHAIR!! After the kid left I tried out the chair the best I could and that is when Jen and I found the other stuff. When I talk to him again I am demanding that he come to my house himself and see for himself. ALSO.......the kid never got my signature on the sales receipt!!! So I told them they had a $30,000 chair sitting here with no siggy and they're lucky I'm an honest person! I am not happy, have a horrible headache, am on the verge of tears, an sick and tired of being fat and disabled, sick of my eyes, sick of *ssholes in this world, sick to death of wheelchaiors and all that goes with them,
this is Mel at her worst and I hate that too! I hate feeling like this.
So now I am going to eat dinner or something before I lie down and watch some mindless TV to relax or I will never go to sleep. WTF WTF WTF WTF FE1! I think I feel better having effed the world!
This too shall pass but for tonite I am pissed off.
