Hi. I am new to this computer stuff but I thought I would like to join you all in this forum. You seem very friendly and encouraging and I could use all I can get.
I am currently attempting again to get rid of the weight I gained for my pregnancy 3 1/2 years ago. I did manage to lose alot of it to fit into a bridesmaid's dress for my brother's wedding 2 years ago (the rest of them were at least 15 years younger than me - so you can imagine the style- spaghetti straps, down to the floor) but it has managed to find its way back to me.
I am currently back to work after a 3 month leave of absence and it is good to get some structure (and pay) back into my life. I have been somersizing for a week and I feel it is working well. I feel much better - mentally anyways. I haven't got on the scale yet as I want to wait until I can feel a difference in how my clothes fit. I will probably not be able to wait that long though and as I don't own one, will probably head next door to my neighbour (my mom) to see how I am doing. I should probably buy one - that is probably one of the reasons I have kept this weight on...
The weather is starting to finally turn nice - raining today but I like to walk in the rain with my little girl.
Anyhoo, I should get moving... I have lots of planning to do for my week of eating.....I find it I fail to plan, I plan to fail.....

Wellcome Time@again,

Rain sucks yeh? I hate storms and it looks like its going to go on all day. Blah.

Try and have a good one. Will post more later...after the lightening.

Lightening? :fr:

Well Done Glen :cp:

time&again, welcome to the group :D let us know how the somersizing goes will you? its on the lines of Atkins is'nt it? you don't eat carbs and proteins together or something :dizzy:

I'm just about to transplant some flowers into the garden, was supposed to do it yesterday but did'nt  also got to set up some pathway lights and seeing as the sun is shining today is the perfect day to do it :D

Hi All,

Well, my weekend was highly caloric...but I did manage to get to the gym all weekend...the new routine is going well...and I got two new assignments so all is good in my world...now to sell the house...lol

I have registered a one pound loss this mid month but we will see at the end when all the weighing and measuring takes place for real...I find that it works for me to do it once a month...the daily up and down would discourage me...

May I join you ladies?

Hi! My name is Jess and I'm 46 years old. Started a new way of eating almost a year ago at 268 lbs. Now at 195 as of this weekend. Started out eating mostly low fat, complex carbs and reduced my portions to the Canada food guide stats. Load of veggies and 3 fruits per day. Started out drinking 3-4 litres of water as well. I think most of the weight fell off from the sheer energy it took to run to the loo every 6 minutes. Pretty much slosh when I walk. teehee

I've been using a treadmill and a total gym. Alternate days on both. Started out walking about 15 minutes and I'm up to 1 1/2 hours. Mainly plug in a video or watch a couple of TV programs to pass the time while I slog away. The total gym has given me the best results. Ordered it from the Home Shopping channel as one of those impulse purchases.. You know the kind .. order it quick before you change your mind. Then sweated it out how I was planning to pay off the credit card bill.

My worst week is when I totally pigged out and gained back 4.5 pounds in 7 measly days. I read a quote from one of you that said Fail to Plan is Planning to Fail. Oh that's so true. I've used the slimfast site to track my calories and fat intake. Used a few of their meal bars from time to time.

My best week was when I met up with a friend who I hadn't seen in almost a year. Thing was he didn't recognise me at first. Think he was just being kind more than anything else. I've got 45 pounds more to go, seems like a life time since I started. Looking for morale support and trying not to completely fall of the wagon. Sorry this is such a long story. Would you mind if I joined your group. I sure could use any tips you could offer.
Thanks Jessie
Original weight 268 (May 30th 2003)

Goal Weight 150 :)

Hi Glen,

Bit north of Toronto. Brampton to be exact. The land of a thousand McDonalds and trillions of Burger Kings.... Can you tell I have a thing for Whoppers and Big Mac's? lol

Do you follow any particular diet? What works best for you? I'm very curious about how others manage with their weight loss.
Thanks
Jess

Hi Everyone,

Hi Jessie  WTG with the weightloss :bravo: would you recommend the total gym then? i have thought about buying one of them a few times  i've been counting cals and fat grams but i'm thinking of trying something else as i've been failing miserably since Easter with all those goodies around :( i need to get back on track and quick

Deborah, you're right about the scale hopping it can be very disheartening to see it bob up and down  i should try and put the darn thing out of sight too.

Dale, your stats are looking good girl :high:

Glen, 2hrs each way :yikes: would'nt it be easier to move closer to the plant? ;)

Where is everyone? you girls keep disappearing on me

I've given myself a kick in the pants and decided to get back on track :cb: i'm the only one that can do this so its up to me. I hope you are all doing well :D
