  • Tulip...I know what youmean...I gotta stick "clappers" on our members so we can find them when they disappear. Humpday is wednesday...Monday and Tuesday are uphill days to the weekend...Wednesday is the top of the hill cuz then it's all easy downhill coasting to the weekend! Hence the name "humpday". I'm very proud of you on two days of eating well! I wanted to go to the gym today, only to find out I have no running shoes. So since tomorrow is humpday and payday, I'm off to spend some money on running shoes specifically for the gym.

Leanne, icky...morning sickness...when my close friends have been pregnant, I've gotten their morning sickness or cravings with them. I prefer the cravings. It'll pass. And don't forget to keep eating healthily and stay active. you may not be able to do your 10k run this year...but now your goal can be to be a fashionably trim and fit Mommy!

Grassie, I hear you about the sleeping and fuzzy brain symptoms...until we found out about my carbohydrate intolerance and prior to that, my food allergies, i could never get a good nite's sleep, couldnt concentrate, bad shortterm memory, and lots of other stuff. You are doing a tuff thing but a great thing. As for stuff made from rice...check out ricedream, it is a rice milk and they make it into 'ricecream' too. Very yummy and very healthy...

Keep us up to date on your progress! Congrats on the weight loss! And we missed you too, Grassie!
  • Quick note before I go to bed.......ricedream ice cream???? I can't wait to find out if I can have it!!!! I'm so excited already!!! Hope it doesn't have sugar - cause I can't have that either.

I'll tell you guys about the visit tomorrow. Since I seem to tell you all way too much anyway

Leanne - here's to the most fit mom to be on the board! Hope you get passed the morning sickness soon!!
  • Wayhay!!!!
    Splashes...We've found our friends again!!!!
    Welcome back everyone!!
Thanks for clearing up the humpday mystries...i like it! lolm Good luck at the gym!

Yuck to the morning sickness Leanne...not the best bit..i agree! keep your chin up hopefully it won't last too long!! England isn't always grey and wet...sometimes it's black & wet clear, cold & wet or sometimes just wet!!! But drinking tea and watching corrie isn't compulsary...I don't like either!! lol what part is your mum from?

Grassie...I know what you mean about the lack of concentration & sleeplessness and stuff...i was exactly the same before my wheat intolerance was diagnosed! I'm a different person now! Well done on the wieght loss..your a star!! I have a recipe web site that may help you find food that you can make with your limited list...not sure if i can post it on here or will i have privately email you?? you can search for recipes by ingredients..may be a help..let me know if you fancy taking a look at it!
Good luck with the tests...and yep you've guessed it...we want a full report!!
  • Morning Ladies....well, after I got off here, I went and ate half a loaf of apple cinnamon bread....and of course, the carbs and sugars kept me awake all nite. So on 3 hours of sleep, I am on my way to work. Have a great day ladies!!!
  • Oh Hotsplashes, you poor thing! That bread shouldn't be tempting you like that!!! Put it in it's place next time !!! Hope you can function okay with the lack of sleep! Good news is that today is a new day!!!! And as far as I know you haven't eaten the other half of the loaf!! Last night in class my neighbor ate cheese, beef stick, chocolate, chocolate chip cookies....by the end of the class I was ready to make her disapear and off with her junk food stash!!

Isn't it amazing just how much we can eat at one sitting and still feel great!! It's like it's all or nothing for me sometimes. I want the whole cake - or I don't want any of it at all.

TF I would LOVE to have that website!!! I have 2 recipes right now and I'm exhausting them quickly!

okay, off to the doc. You guys have a great day!! Leanne - hope you're feeling better today! We're thinking about you!

I think it is because my mom has always watched it that now I WATCH it......who knew!...My mom was born in Manchester and I have some family, aunts/uncles and cousins that still live somewhere in England...I think I would like to go there one day.

  • Hi guys! Well you won't believe this but my medical diagnosis (somewhat) is I'm afraid of the dark. I was laughing my butt off when he told me. But basically most of us need a certain amount of sun light each day and because of our lives we don't get it. Apparently our nervous systems get involved and wear down the body when we aren't getting what we need. That's why some people who really suffer from this get severe depression. I was laughing about it after treatment and told the office manager and she said that all but one person in the office is the same way.

This came up because I've been a little emotional lately. Nice to know there is an easy fix for it. The other good news is that now I can have almonds, a rice bread that I found, ginger, rosemary and chamomile tea!!! I'm so excited! The almonds are the best part because I can have almond flour, milk and butter yeah!!!!!!!!!!! I have junk food!!!!!!!

Well there is my update. Feeling even better today. They did the metal detox too. Definately a metal there, just don't know which one yet. We'll find the metals are still showing up next visit.
  • Gees...Leanne, Is your mom my mom? My mother was born in Manchester, but moved to Canada when she was a few months old with her parents. SMALL world. Glad you are up and around today. Wow how are you going to keep track of those little guys? Glad you are still with us! Hope tomorrow is a great day too!

Tulip,I remember when my mother went back to England for a 3 week visit...rained for 19 days...was sunny when she was there and snowed the day she left...and that was in June! I'm planning a trip to Europe in the near future so I can see where my family is from. My grandfather was of English and Scottish parents. so I MUST see England and Scotland. Then it's off to the French Mediterreanian(Ican never spell that word) and off to Sicily since my biodad was born in Sicily and raised in a small fishing Village on the coast of Southern France before coming to Canada.

Grassie! Glad to hear you got diagnosed with your SAD. It's called Seasonal Afectation Disorder. And like you said...it's from lack of sunlight. And alot of folks have it to some degree or other. I know I get lethargic and sometimes depressed in teh winter if I don't get out enough. but with being back to horses full time, I'm up with sun and go to bed with it! As for websites for all natural recipes...check this one out...

    Or this one:

    Hope they help.

As for me ladies, I didn't make it to the gym as I ended up going riding. So I consider that a form of exercise. Of course my horse, Splash, wasn't too thrilled with me. But she forgave me the intrusion on her vacation time once I gave her a few carrots. But i DID go and buy some new running shoes so I have a pair for the gym! YAY me!

    See everyone tomorrow!
  • Hi guys - before I Forget - yes, TF I do want the website!! Thanks!! And Hot splashes - thanks for the two you sent. I've been looking through them today.

Good news - Today I weighed 134.5!!!!! So excited!!! Now if I can just get motivated to go to the gym I can increase that and make it toned!! Wouldn't that be nice!

Leanne, how are you today? I hope you're doing better.

I am at work and sneaking in. Hope everyone is behaving themselves!! HS I'm so jealous that you got to ride your horse yesterday! I have never ridden one. I can't even believe that myself!

    Have a good one!
  • Well, we are in for a winter storm again....storm warning started this morning. Due midnite...snow then freezing rain...then rain...go figger. Stay warm, dry, and safe everyone!
  • Good morning! well, the storm missed us. All we got was a dusting of snow. But the clouds are still low, grey and heavy. Don't know wether that means more snow or now rain. I haven't been outside yet but I'm still going to dress overly layered so I can be prepared for anything. Ate well yesterday and had a good nite's sleep. Feeling quite good over all! Have a great day everyone!
  • Hi everyone...sorry i've missed a few days!! Been feeling really low..old job / new job thing!

I think i suffer a bit from SAD...I always get a bit fed up in winter...now with all this hassle of work..it's really getting to me! I'm too old for all this change. I need to move to a sunnier climate!!

Leanne - glad your working through your sickenss...time will soon pass, you'll feel better soon! And don't scold yourself about Corrie...most people here DO watch it!!! and drink tea...I just like to be different!! I watch friends and ER and drink strong black coffee!! Haven't been to Manchester, but hubby's family is Preston which is in the north west of the country also.

Splashes - Smacked wrists for you ...LEAVE THE BREAD ALONE..and Grassie's got a point...where's the other half of the loaf??? Good news about the running shoes..have you used them yet???

Grassie - well done on the weight loss - you go girl...that's got to make you cheer up?
Web site for the recipes is.. www.recipezaar.com
  • Oh I forgot to tell you this..

My 9 yr old DD asked me why I was sad...I said it was because I didn't have a job, she replyed...but you have got a job mummy...your job is to love me...and you do it very well!!! Awwww - she had me in tears!!!
  • Out of the mouths of babes......wow.

I hope you're feeling better today TF. I know it's hard to be without a job after so long! I hope you hear something positive soon.

Thanks for the websites guys. I have to say that I am sleeping much better, I have less pain, and I've lost another pound. I'm 134!! I haven't been 134 in YEARS!!! Feels pretty awesome!!

BF came off Dairy and Wheat this week. He has exzema and is trying to see if that will help it. I am still proud of him for it!

HS - good luck with the cold!! It's raining tons here today. Ruined my walk at lunch. (don't worry TF I'm not exercising without you)

Well I'd better get back to work. Ate my pear and salad and I'm all cozy now. I hope you guys stay dry and warm!!

    Talk with you soon, Meri
  • Evening ladies. The other half of the loaf I threw out before I could eat it. Ate well today.

Tulip, that is the sweetest thing. What a good DD you have! You're never too old to change. Or adapt. It might even be good for you! How's the thing with the vegan restaurant going? you sounded pretty psyched about that.

Grassie, it's raining here too. Hmm Pears...sounds good. Maybe i need to buy some now. Cravings!lol better pears than apple cinnamon bread! Good to hear that BF is trying with you. Wish mine would.

Leanne, how are you feeling? Drop us aline when you can!

    See ya ladies!
