Good morning to you all. It is warm and sticky this morning and supposed to be upper 80's. We have yet to get the predicted rain but it has been overcast, which makes the humidity awful.

I am going out to get my nails done and pick up a couple things from WM. Normally I would have my nails taken off this time, but I am hoping I can stretch it one more time and get a new set before the cruise. I still have 5 weeks so would get a new set in a couple weeks then get them done again on the Sunday before we leave. I never go over there on the weekends, but we are going to be traveling, etc, for that week before the cruise, than a week's cruise so that's two weeks right there and they'd start growing out. I want them to look as nice as possible the week of the cruise. I may take my nail polish though and go to a local salon in Ft Lauderdale on that Friday and have them repolished.

Over the weekend, I spent awhile learning to tie a bow tie. I used a you tube video and bookmarked it so I can watch it on the ship again to do it for formal nights. It is tricky, but not hard. Because we have a suite we get free wifi and I am hoping it works fairly well.

Jean: My great niece lives in Indianapolis. This baby will be my great great niece. She's makes me sound ancient! Was your friend's husband ill? I have a high school friend whose husband is going in for surgery this morning. They are having to take his leg off. He is retired Navy like Jack and he told Mary he wanted a peg leg! I talked to her on FB yesterday and she said he doesn't want me to know, but he is scared. Poor man. It is diabetic complication I am pretty sure.

Everyone have a good Tuesday. Need to go put laundry in the dryer.

Good Afternoon! It's been a beautiful day in my neighborhood today, sunny, no wind, low humidity, and 80 degrees. The church was full for the funeral this morning. There were several people from school and I recognized some from the college where he taught and coached for 50 years. We didn't stay for lunch. Bob planned to shampoo the area rugs yesterday but thought today would be a better drying day. I had checks to take back to the hospital, needed to buy stamps at the post office, and stopped by the church office to share a change of address on a returned birthday card. Ernie doesn't like the shampoo machine so moves from place to place to make sure it doesn't "get" him. He's fast asleep now after missing his afternoon nap.

"Gma," have you ever tried just having the nail filler goop applied rather than the acrylic nails? I started out with the nails but now he just fills the base and smooths the goop over the rest of the nail. I go about every two weeks to have mine done. My mom had very hard nails but mine are soft, maybe because I've never been a milk drinker. The man who died, had prostate cancer several years ago and they implanted the radium (?) seeds. The current problem was caused by scar tissue which in turn was cancer. I think it was late spring or early summer when he started having trouble. I hope your friend's surgery is successful, scary for them though!

I need to get busy and get something done, maybe think about what's for supper. I don't think there are many leftovers to choose from. Maybe Bob will cook tonight! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good morning to you all. Pretty morning today. It's going to get hot though. I am in for the day today.

Yesterday was nuts so don't want a repeat of that! I left home at 9 so I could be at salon when they opened. Sat down as I was first nail customer and went to get my credit card and no wallet! I knew it hadn't been stolen so I got up, drove across town and found it on the floor by the computer, got back in the car and drove back across town. So now, it's an hour later and had to wait, then had to wait for someone to bring back an electric cart to shop as my knee was not going to cooperate to walk yesterday. The woman that had it was not disabled as I found out, had one tiny bag but refused to give the thing up in the store and road out to the parking lot. I had to follow her to get it and my knee was already killing me. Wanted to kick her tires. She hopped right out and put her stuff in her car, dinked around in the parking lot then drove away. So back I go into the store, get my stuff and by now it's 12:30. I decide to get a fish sandwich at Mcd's and get in drive through and the cashier had the brains of an amoeba. I had 3 cars ahead of me and she took 20 minutes to get me up to the order mic! I looked to see if the other three people may have had multiple orders but nope, once we got past her we zipped right through. I got home, a nitwit across the drive had parked one garage down and had her car's rearend sticking out into the drive and took forever for me to get into my own garage. I got my rolling basket from the house, unloaded the groceries and turned on the ac and left the groceries sit while I ate lunch. It promptly made me sick as it was 1:15 by this time and I hadn't eaten all morning. The heat didn't help either, so spent the next hour in and out of the bathroom. The dryer was acting up I guess because there an extra amount of towel fuzz on the thing a ma bob, so had to wait on the clothes. Sheesh, I should have just climbed in bed and pulled up the covers! We did get dinner on time and the food put away and the laundry folded.

I sat and paid bills this AM but didn't feel like balaning everything like I usually do so left it for later. I should go upstairs and clean the bathrooms but I am talking myself out of it!

Jean: I usually get a new set with tips about every 8 weeks and then every 2 weeks get them "filled" in as they call it. My real nails are separating from the acryllics so it always tells me it's time to remove the old but I will wear these a couple weeks then take them off, give my real nails a breather for a week or so then get a new set for vacation. I bought some new neon purple polish and the darn stuff is neither neon bright or purple. It's more maroon, which is ok but I have maroon polish already. My friend's husband came out of surgery ok, but he's in for a tough time. Fortune was always afraid of the shampooer too. He would jump up on the recliner to get away from it. It does make an awful racket. We need our rugs done but will wait until the weather is cooler after we come back from vacation.

Have a great day gals. Off to work on the blanket.

Good Afternoon! It's been a strange weather day in my corner of the world tolday. I had some errands this morning and lunch bunch this noon. It started to seriously rain just as I pulled into a parking spot. The sun came out while we were eating and then disappeared again. I drove home in sprinkles and then the sun came out again. Crazy weather! It's cloudy now and the weatherman just predicted strong thunderstorms for later. Bob had ordered a part for his elderly lawn mower from a dealer in a nearby town. He invited me to ride along right after I got home from lunch. He had missed lunch because of a long winded client so we stopped at a restaurant on the way home; he had a sandwich and I drank coffee. On another note, the hospital accountant charged my May bill to some other department; they must not have caught it in their record keeping. I spent hours looking for it!

"Gma," maybe you should have stayed home after you discovered your missing wallet yesterday. I'm glad those days don't happen often. I guess the city council meeting was a major protest against the legalized fireworks. They are going to discuss it further and will have to vote on it at three separate meetings. No one was in favor of them. It originally passed by one vote so I hope the "yes" voters will listen this time. They are "ok" again for weeks before Christmas until after New Years. Dumb!

I have clothes in the washer so need to get them in the dryer. Enjoy the rest of the day!
