Good morning ladies,
Yesterday I worked at the senior center in the morning. It was blessedly quiet which was appreciated - sometimes it can get crazy hectic there. I walked in and everything (reference info) was pretty much removed from the desk. :?: They said they started to go through the desk of the person who left and found a big hodge podge mess. The new person was starting to sort through it. As I was sitting there one of the volunteers at the thrift store came in to drop off an application. They are looking to hire a full time admin for the work I was volunteering to do. I gave it some thought - perhaps I should apply for it myself? It's not alot of money but it would provide a nice boost to the savings for our dream vacation. It's only 4 miles from the house so not a long commute and on the worst of the winter weather it's an easy drive for DH to take me back and forth. I am already doing the work - they have split the job so I know I won't have to travel to the other sites which was a concern of mine. And this work is relatively easy - the more you are there the more you learn and get better at it. That's the up side. The negatives are that I'd have to start work at 8am which means getting up at 6am for me. I'm not keen on that at all - especially in the dark, cold winter months. Also I have been longing for more time on my own - even backing off some of the volunteer stuff - a full time job would give me no time at all. I'd miss out on using the boat - we'd be contending on the weekends with all the other visitors up here which is a giant pain. If my knees get stiff and achy over the winter doing the stairs up and down at the center could become an issue. And my biggest thing is probably that as a volunteer I have much more control over what I (want to) do and don't do. Once you start taking that paycheck, they own you so to say. The thought of the extra money sounds nice but I really think that if I took the job (and there's no guarantee I'd be offered it in the first place) that after a couple of weeks I'd be really sorry I did this and it's a commitment so there's no backing out of it. Or at least I would not feel right about doing so. I have the weekend to ponder it... My leg is healing - the extreme redness has gone down but it's still sore to the touch. Still dealing with coughing waking me in the middle of the night. The pollen is AWFUL. You can see clouds of it blowing from the trees. Our deck looks like someone shook yellow baby powder all over it - quite slippery in fact. I don't know know how long this will last. The momma deer are starting to walk around with their fawns so we should hopefully see them in our yard soon. I am working a fund raiser tonight for the Humane Society - went yesterday to pick up the silent auction items from my friend, the president's home. She is having issues with her heart - she gets really faint and weak suddenly. It happened while we were talking and she literally fell to the floor - very scary. They don't know the cause of it. I think she's going to have to slow down - we are all very worried about her. We are supposed to get storms tonight which is a bummer as we are having the reception in one building and then we have to walk across the parking lot to the theater 2 storefronts down where they will continue the evening with entertainment (2 comediennes and a raffle and auction). I think we are going to get soaked :rain: but then maybe St. Francis and God will smile on us and there will be a break in the rain as we transfer out. I have to go set up for the silent auction about 3pm so DH and I are trying to get some things done this morning around the house. Tomorrow is quiet and I can take care of more things here. Laura - I would be very interested if you would share some of the highlights about the inflammation seminar you attend next month. That is a really hot topic now. You are so right about the hand crafted stuff and people not wanting to pay for it. We have some art work vendors at the fairs that do beautiful carving and wood burning plaques and they have said they almost stopped doing that because people think $80 pieces that took 2 weeks to make should sell for $10  Ugh. Your new garage door sounds really nice looking - should help with spiffing up the curb appeal to the property! Yay for you girl on the plank challenge - you are doing fantastic!!! Anne - enjoy your weekend. Hope the weather holds up for the kids games. Hope you won't be too melancholy on Father's Day on Sunday. How is the ex doing? Hello to the rest of the chicks  I need to get my butt in gear before I look up and notice it's time to shower and get out of here with nothing getting done. Have a good weekend! |
Hello Everyone!
I so enjoyed our vacation and time in Asheville. I need to get the pictures downloaded from my camera and posted. I'll get to it sometime. We had beautiful weather during our time in North Carolina. The whole trip was restful and fun and I so enjoyed it all. The Biltmore is such a beautiful and interesting place and the town of Asheville is a beautiful and fun town. I enjoyed my birthday and thank you for my birthday wishes. We didn't go back to work until Wednesday. We had concert tickets for John Legend on Monday and so we took Monday and Tuesday off to enjoy that and not have to go tired after work or get up and go to work tired. The concert was great! As you can imagine it was crazy when I got back to work and next week isn't going to be any better. That's ok. I am back on vacation July 4 until the next Monday. I am happy to report a 3.2 lb loss at TOPS on Thursday and I have now hit a 60 lb loss since December 26 when I started this journey. :carrot: Annie: Thank you for the birthday card. I hope you had a wonderful birthday as well. It sounds like you had a couple of days where life has been getting to you. Keep your head up girl...things will get better. You time away a Amish Aches sounds like it was very nice. Shad: How is the kitty? Did you end up seeing the doctor. I hope all is going well. Laura: I am working on my yearly achievements and then mapping out next years work plan. We have to have them done by the end of next week so the manager can look them over and meet with us the last week of June and then sign off on things and post to the system by July 24. I hate doing those things. It is an exercise in creative writing for sure. Your planks sound hard! You should be proud of yourself for sticking to them. Happy: I was surprised to read that you are thinking about applying for a full-time job. I know you enjoy your retirement, and you keep yourself busy with a lot of volunteering. I think that you are someone who needs the social interaction but thinking about a full-time job is a very big commitment. It is something to think about for sure. I hope your leg is doing better and feeling back to normal. Ceejay: Your organ looks to be a nice one and it is so nice you are enjoying it. Did you make it to the gym? |
Good morning chicks,
I had to get up at 6am today because I have to work the ENTIRE DAY (whine, whine) at the Senior Center today. Because I am not excited about either of those things, I think taking a full time job is obviously NOT for me. Sometimes I do things on a whim and don't think them through so I'm glad I had the weekend to think about it. We had a fundraiser on Saturday for the Humane Society. It was fun, I was on my feet for about 6 hours straight so that was tiring. We did ok, could have done better. Many people were out of town because of Father's Day weekend and graduation season. DH paid alot of money to bid on a fishing excursion - you are guaranteed to catch a Musky (big fish). If not the first time you go out, then you will go out again. He said he wanted to catch a Musky and the money went to the shelter. I brought all the paperwork and cash box home with me Saturday night and tallied the results. Went into the thrift shop Sunday to run the credit card transactions through. We then dropped the stuff off at the president's house, went for a drive and stopped for a pizza at a local hangout. The pizza was excellent except I got Italian sausage (and mixed bell peppers and tomatoes) and I forgot the sausage was on the spicy side which would make me ill. I scraped off the top, ate the veggies and cheese as best I could and the crust. DH will finish it for me. I remembered the last time I got a veggie pizza there but totally forgot about the meat. It is a good pizza which is hard to find up in these parts. I went through my closet and pulled a couple of items and took them to the thrift shop as donations. It reminded me that instead of looking for a job, I should be looking to cull stuff  My leg is healing from the bite. The redness has gone away completely but it still feels very sore like it's badly bruised. I guess that will take time. I am hoping to get back in the hot tub in a day or two as I can't see any more broken skin. We have hit a cool spell which my beans will like - they started to peter out because it was too warm when we planted them. Too bad the spinach bolted too soon also. So now it's good weather for sugar snap peas and cabbage but too cool for tomatoes and cucumbers. :dizzy: This is why it's hard to have a productive garden up here. We saw the woman doing our landscaping on Saturday. They should be starting in a week and a half on our place. DH is going there today to pick up some "bait plants" so they can try several deer deterrents. We had some youngsters today trying to eat the flowers we planted in the big planter out in the yard. L said they will plant greenery that deer are not fond of BUT when they first put the stuff in, deer will be attracted to anything new or different or tender new shoots so we have to first find something that will keep them away from the area. Now that we know they are going to the planter box (and it's the younger yearling deer that are doing it) we can try the sprays right there. Susie - glad you had a great time on your vacation. Now back to reality with renewed energy! You seem to have found your stride on the weight loss. Keep up the good work! Guess I need to wait for the rest of you to check in before I do personals. Have a great day - I'm hoping for peace and quiet but it's never quiet on a Monday in the office! |
Happy Monday!
Not a lotta going on here in Indiana. We did have a bit of rain all weekend long. Nothing that lasted too long in my area. Jacob's game got played just fine. He only has one more game. Thank you Jesus. 8 am games are toooooo early. Except for the fact we can get on with our day after that. Chris had the boys which was good as it was father's day too. Saturday was breakfast with my SIL after the game, then errands. Home again to laundry and chores. Sunday was church, C and Sam went also. Then Sam and I took C to lunch for Father's day as his two girls are the worst. One did even call or text him. The other text him. What a couple of brats. C just keeps on taking the bs treatment from them also. We took him to Olive Garden. He got his favorite. I got salad and grilled chicken and zucchini. Quite yum and had an Italian spin to it. No sauces. Garlic butter tho. mmmmm. C went to work after that and Sam went out to visit his dad. One of the two or three visits a year she makes with him. Strained relationship. Speaking of her dad...he is recovering ok. It is taking quite a toll on him due to all the other issues with his health. Plus he is 72, yep 15 years older than I. I just keep praying for him. HAPPY...yes, I could not see you being happy about a full time job. Especially when DH would be doing some of the things you like to do while you were at work. At least when you volunteer, you don't have to go in, but with a full time job you would have to work or call off, NOT. :) Glad to hear your leg is recovering from the bite. Unfortunately the spider bites Sam has had in the past, no matter how clean we kept them, turned into staph infection. The fundraiser sounded like a success. I think on fundraisers, no matter how much $$ made, it is never enough. Too bad Shad is not available to do your landscaping. LAURA...I am with you on the career development work. Really how many times in your life can you change what you want to accomplish? Oh, I want to hit the lottery and be independently wealthy. End of story. I mean, we set goals, do we meet them? Do we remember what they even are? bleh. Worse time of year. Of course, doesn't really matter what we write down for goals etc as they do not reflect the raises we get. Raises are set the end of December for the next year while the goals etc are not done till end of January first of February. March is raises. Clockwork. I feel you on the repair of the limestone. Finding anyone reliable and not gauge is hard to get these days. I do have a pretty good guy that did Cs roof that is good and does not gauge on repairs. I may use him later down the road on the sliding door. Good on you for sticking with the plank challenge. What is the final time length on it? SUSIE...wow come home to a 3.2 loss at TOPS. Remarkable. See you made the challenge I gave you. :) 60 lbs down is awesome. What is you final goal to lose? Back to work after vacation is the worst. Getting back in the groove, going through a bazillion email. EeeeK. Hope you are not awfully swamped. Your birthday sounded like a success as was your vacation. Good, you needed it. SHADDIE...how are you feeling these days? Getting any better or is it hit or miss? How is the cat doing? Is ODDU still living with you? Did you get that last hedge out? Hello to CEEG and the rest of ya's. Have a marvy day! Hugs |
Yeah Monday is over with! I should work out tonight but I have had a horrible headache that I woke up with this morning and I guess it will hang around until I go back to sleep and get up tomorrow morning.
Yesterday was a very long and busy day for us. We did stop over to see DH's dad and give him his card and cash we put in it for a pair of shoes he is looking to buy. We usually take him out for breakfast or lunch and take him shopping, but a week ago he acted like a brat, he can be very moody, and said, he didn't want to go anywhere to eat and he could do without shoes. So, DH made the decision that we would handle it that way this year. I called him last week to let him know we would be going to church Sunday morning and before I could even say that, he said to me "I told you I wasn't going out to eat or anything". I said, "well that is good news then and you won't be disappointed that we aren't taking you because we have a important church service to attend and we will stop over in the afternoon if you are home or if you answer the door and if you don't then we will leave the card in the mailbox for you and I hope you have a nice Father's Day: and I hung up. I don't my DH what I said and he said he couldn't blame me and from now on he would call his dad so I didn't have to take the abuse. When we stopped by after church (after we went and got something to eat) he was home and acted all pitiful and embarrassed that we would stop after he acted like that and he apologized. We thanked him, said no more, visited with him for about and hour and then went home. Ok..I'm done with that rant. Happy: I think you made the right decision on the full time job. It sounds like the leg is on the mend and hopefully you can get in the hot tub. I bet you are excited to have the landscaping done..I think it will look very pretty. Annie:I had to laugh about the "thank you Jesus" comment on the ball games..that is the way I feel about my nieces Soccer Games. They take forever, the weather is never perfect and the whole dang season is so long. I haven't heard you say much about AA...are you still attending weekly? I want to lose 40 more lbs; that puts me at my goal weight for TOPS. My plan is to get that done before the end of the year. I am going to turn in early tonight. I'll see everyone tomorrow. |
Good Morning all ya'll....
It has been a stressful week with rides to and from work. C is dropping me off and Sam is picking me up. My car is in the shop getting a few dings fixed. Should have it back later today or tomorrow, we hope. I guess I should be thankful that I have the rides to get here. Right? and yes, the dings were one my fault and one Sam's fault. We have similar driving habits, not so good. lol. I should of been a race car driver. lol Something I need to work on. Dinner was cheeseburgers, mixed veggies and I fried potatoes for C and the boys. Just two potatoes, minimal olive oil, no complaints, so I guess they were ok. Sam cleaned up the kitchen then took Jacob to VBS-vacation bible school. He loved it and can't wait to go back tonight. I kept Royce while she did that. He is such the stinker. My tomato pot plants on the porch are growing by leaps and bounds. Already have 3 tiny little yellow tomatoes on one of the plants. About the size of peas at the moment. The other plants have tons of blooms. Come on bee's do your thing. Don't know why I didn't to porch plants in the past. So much easier. I have a wire cage around one of the pots already. Those plants are about 2 ft tall. Not bad since they started out at about 6" tall a month ago. Excited about this. SUSIE...At your goal weight, will you be in your category for your height? How tall are you btw? If you are blessed like me very tall...so you can weigh more. hahaha. I am so proud of you. We will certainly fit into the seats at KI now. Probably could have one of the littles ride with us. :) Yes, I am still going to AA meetings. It will be an ongoing thing for the rest of my life. Not so much that I even have an inkling of drink cross my mind, but the meetings help keep me sane/strong/right path not only in AA life but in life in general. I can tell when I have not been to a meeting in a bit. I get off track and I don't care for my mind set AT ALL. I also am going to an AA workshop on Tuesday evenings that I love. Thanks for asking. Sorry DHs dad was a bit of a heiny for FD. Parents, you gotta love them for one day they will not be here. Just hope we don't act like this in our old age....lol. HOpe work settles down for you and your headache goes far away. Hello to the rest of youse! Make it a great day! Hugs |
Hi all,
I actually went to bed last night at 10pm and slept for 8 hours. DH was shocked - he stayed up perhaps to watch the news but stayed in the living room. I plugged in my iPOD and didn't even hear him come to bed. Alarm rang at 6, I could have slept another hour but DH went into the bathroom and left the light on blaring into the bedroom so when I got up to turn it off, was no sense in going back to sleep for 35 minutes. Work at the senior center was ok yesterday. Slightly right of almost busy - only a few times I was just sitting there. I fixed the bus schedule form in Excel that someone messed up (badly). The person who was the admin and left came in to drop off her office keys and pick up her personal items. She sure had a puss on her. I understand that she was upset over whatever happened (the details of which I will never know). But I tried to be cordial to her and she copped an attitude with me to - what the heck did I do to her  and I am not getting paid to do this lady so it's not like I took over your job. I think she contributed to part of the problem. I picked up some bbq for an easy supper. Found out Meadow really likes smoked beef brisket  Kind of like her favorite - pot roast. Was going to go into the hot tub but the entire room was covered in pine pollen which I didn't want to get into the water so I vacuumed the entire room after we ate. That was an hour's job. By the time I got done I was too tired to go in the tub as I would have had to put in chemicals and then let it run and air out for about an hour. I did 2 loads of laundry and that was it for the evening. I do the bookkeeping for the daily sales at the thrift shop and somehow lost the paperwork for the 1 - 16th of May sales. That includes the bank deposits and credit card slips for reconcilliation as well as the daily sales info and any receipts from things we purchase as supplies on the company credit cards. I was frantically looking for this stuff for 2 weeks. Today DH came up from the basement - I had purchased a box of kitty litter bags from the thrift shop several weeks ago and put the bag that contained the box AND my paperwork on the cabinet shelf and forgot about it. What a ding dong I am becoming. :dizzy: Just glad he found it - now I am trying to return the favor by finding his lens cap which is also hiding in the house somewhere. It's off to the thrift shop shortly for my morning shift and then it's all me time until bingo Thursday night. We have had quite a bit of rain so it's not be very conducive to working outside or activities like boating or atv'ing. We did sit out on the deck for a while after dinner which was nice and peaceful. Some of the deer came to eat and the crickets were chirping. Annie- bummer on the car - yet another thing to eat away at the shrinking paycheck, eh? Had to smile at your comment about banging into things :^: I think things are much closer than they are and I think that has saved me many a time from otherwise disasterous results. Good to hear that Jacob likes VBS - it's nice for everyone involved if they can enjoy some of the summer camps and activities available. Interesting how the AA meetings can keep you in a healthy mindset. I wish they had things like that available up this way. Good luck with the tomato plants - I tried bush tomato patio plants last year hoping to get a jump start on the season. They were growing nicely when I got them but then petered out. Maybe it would have been better to have regular plants like you do. Too cool for us and tomatoes lately but it sounds like perfect weather where you are. Yum tomato sandwiches. - oh wait - no bread on keto. :( I'm sure you will find a satisfactory alternative. Susie - hope you woke up headache free this morning. Too bad FIL had to be such a bugger about Father's Day. Isn't that an incredible feeling that you CAN meet such an awesome weight loss goal this year? That it can actually happen??? I know you can do it. That's amazing - keep your eye on the prize. Hello to the others. If I act quickly I can get some breakfast in me before I have to leave. Have a good day everyone. |
Morning all. Have to be brief.
Happy – Good decision not to commit to a full-time job. You barely have time for yourself with all the volunteer activities you do, and the volunteer stuff is probably more fulfilling for you than the job would be just on the basis that it’s voluntary, lol.== Glad the leg is improving. Susie – Nice you took a couple more days after getting home from NC to relax and enjoy. And nice you’ll have time the week of the 4th of July. I want to take some time off, but right now is a crunch for me at work. And I have no plans anyway. I’ll play it by ear. == Great weight loss at TOPS! You’re just chugging right along & doing fabulous! :congrats: Annie – Sounds like you had a good and busy weekend. At least S. is a good (step)daughter to C. His own daughters sound unbearable. And good that S. went to see her own father in spite of the strained relationship. Best wishes for his recovery. It would be nice to think somewhere down the road the relationship of S and her dad could become more relaxed and even good…but he needs to be around for that!! And his grandkids.== Re the career dev – I agree. Too often the goals are make-work, nice to dos, but not critical, and they get forgotten when there’s the real work to be done. No surprise - I bought lottery tickets yesterday! :D Need to check the one that had the drawing yesterday, might be here needlessly, hahaha. Well, I’m still not caught up on reading the rest of your posts, but that’ll have to be later. Busy days at work and this afternoon is full of meetings. Bleh. I’m gonna post this and check my lottery ticket. I’ll try to get back here on the train home. TTFN. |
Hello from the train. The later train, since I missed my usual one. I'll have to miss my aqua class tonight & go on Thursday. Maybe.
I had a nice weekend. Sunday was the day I dug out about 2/3 of the garden bed I'm converting to grass. I sold the hosta through my fb garage sale groups, and gave away the day lilies via fb as well. I still have more day lilies to dig in order to clear the rest of the bed, so I hope the weather is favorable this weekend. I did a short stretch "workout" this morning. I liked it. I did the floor one, but there's a standing one & one other one as well. These were on a DVD from the library. Still keeping up with the planks. I'll check my calendar check sheet how long they are on the 30th, can't recall at the moment. Edited to report that the last 4 days of the plank challenge are all 2 minutes. Every day went up by 5 seconds, with day one starting at 10 seconds, and a rest day every Sunday. Okay, almost home, gonna post now. |
Happy Hump Day!
Well big NSV-non scale victory.....I am in a tight size 8 pants, very loose 10. If only there was a 9 women's pants. The juniors sizes (9) don't fit my arse well. lol. Yep I wore the 8s today. May display the sizing tag on the outside of the pants just to show off or wear them inside out. hahahaha. I have still only lost 25 lbs. back to 169. The inches just fall off with this WOE without LBs lost. Weird. Also had to buy smaller bras last week. 38 C LONGs scooped into 38 C scruncies. bahahaha :) Just full of it this morning. Didn't get my car back. Bleh. C was none too happy to get up on his sleep in day to bring me to work. He was pleasant as usual about it tho. He gets to sleep in til 9 on Wednesday before heading out to work as it is his short day. Usually works from 10 to 3 or 4 or 5 on Wednesdays. He is thinking about selling his route and box truck to another fellow and just being a relief driver. Less headache, no paper work, don't have to pay to get the truck fixed etc etc. If he does that we can pay off major debt like my parent loan. That will be nice. With less bills going out monthly, we can do this! We shall see. Hold good thoughts. Of course I will still have to work as I carry the insurance and pay the taxes. Bleh. Jacob loved VBS last night. He could hardly wait to go. He kept asking Sam if it was time to leave yet. Jacob will miss tonight because Chris has the boys and is too selfish to take him. That kind of got my dander up and I wanted to go smack him. Jacob will be tee'd off when he finds out he cannot go tonight. Dinner was fried cabbage, veggies and a Keto chicken recipe. It was all ok in my books. Everyone ate their share. C ate two chicken breast halves to make a whole. Sam and I ate one half. The boys had chicken fries and veggies. Then they wanted yogurt. I don't mind giving them extra stuff when it is yogurt or applesauce. My ex, John is recovering ok. Slow due to his health and relies on my son a lot for help. I guess it is a good thing that he lives with his dad. His biggest problem is pain and won't take the pills cause he is constipated. He is kind of a mess. LAURA...Yes indeed my kids are both great to C. I believe I taught them well. Yes I take all the credit. :) Sam and her dad have a much better relationship than they did 10 years ago. So probably it is getting a bit better. Her dad just doesn't make a real effort to make contact. Great job on the plank challenge. So if we don't see you in here anymore, you hit the lottery, right? HAPPY....wow, nothing like a good night's sleep. Excellent! Makes me feel great for the day. Glad DH found your receipts. I do the same thing. When I can't find my phone it is usually where I left it last. Like on the dryer when doing laundry. This world is full of bitterness (the lady at the center that quit). Gotta get busy and have a great day. Hugs |
Happy Hump Day and First Day of Summer Ladies :carrot: :flow1::flow2::flow1:
Yesterday was the longest day of the year although they confused me on the news by saying it was the shortest night. I thought it stayed somewhat light up here at 10pm but I was wrong. Not sure I will still keep driving myself to bingo much after July. I don't see well at night and the deer are very fond of hugging the roads around here. The good news is when I get out around 9 - 9:30, the roads are generally quiet and I can drive lower than the speed limit of 55 and keep an eye out. Then again it is summer and our dear neighbors west of us are very fond of being speed demons - 55 is about 25 mph less than they typically drive out there so they have a tendency to ride your tail and speed all over. I am happy to have the day to myself today. Doing laundry, some clean up and I have to gather some shoes I ordered that I don't think I want to keep and send them back. It's so hard to figure an exact size and fit when you order online which is about my only option unless I make my sister take me when I am in Chicago which also doesn't do me much good if I am flying and watching the suitcase contents. Yesterday at the Thrift Shop was just a giant pain. I really don't want to be front and center any more although I will be happy to stay in the background and do the paperwork and order supplies and such. This weekend is our first big summer festival so they are trying to put out as much merchandise as possible. Which is ok BUT they are piling small tables in front of glass shelves full of glass and breakable stuff in such a way that people can't easily get at the stuff on the shelves. I told them about this several times as I have seen customers struggle to look at things - I also said for people like me - naturally clumsy, I would not even attempt to look at stuff that was precarious to look at. I was met with blank stares (which happens alot since I apparently talk in tongues :dizzy: ). I also had to write a note that I should not have had to write because I came in Sunday and someone eating something with tomato sauce had slobbered all over the credit card machine and there were several globs of dried sauce that was all over and in the keys. I had to take a wet wipe and the end of a paper clip to scrape the crap off of it. I am also constantly cleaning up the computer keyboard that also has food waste that makes the keys stick. Pigs. These are grown adults for cryin' out loud. :rollpin: Several people think we shouldn't be eating at the front counter - I tend to agree that unless you are working a full 8 hour shift, can you not go 4 hours without food??? But our team leader eats because he is diabetic and goes from one volunteer stint to another so he does not have time for lunch. So money see, monkey do. :dizzy: I think I know the exact 2 people who are causing the mess but I can't be sure so instead I have to put up a note that will offend some and be ignored by the offenders. Then we had to make space to display more shoes that are selling well. Everyone wanted more room but no one would do anything about it so I moved the puzzles from some shelves to another spot and made room for the shoes. One person (who is very controlling) was whining they HATED where the puzzles were (the boxes are tipped on their sides to display the puzzle pictures and amount of pieces). She hates this set up because puzzle pieces fall out of the boxes this way. SO I SAID - I have told you guys in pricing 8,462,386 million times to TAPE THE BOXES CLOSED. Is that so hard to do??????????? No it's not hard to do she said, they just don't do it back there. So then the problem is with you guys - not how the puzzles are displayed. And customers like this display because they can easily see the pictures and such. :p:p:p I did quietly back myself off the calendar for the next six weeks - I think I only have 2 weeks to work through July. If I can't see it, I can't get annoyed by it... Annie - :yay: on the size 8, single digit pants !!!! Did you feel great in your bathing suit too when you were on vacation? I KNOW what you mean about wanting to wear the tag outside on your pants - :lol3: Hey lookit me - I worked HARD for this moment!!! :D It's good to know the boobs shrink too - I could use mine shrinking back up some too. So there's hope. Bummer that Chris won't drop Jacob off at VBS - what's the big deal especially if he loves it so much??? How long does it run - all summer? So did Tater move in with his dad? It's good he is there to help - you have good kids lady. Interesting that C is looking to sell his route - I can only imagine how exhausting the work is. Can he make enough as a relief driver? I'm sure he will find something to bring in cash - this job sounds like one has no life at all. Eat, sleep, work - wash, rinse, repeat. :( I guess if the Trumpster has his way and makes insurance a gold standard that no one can afford, then maybe you won't have to work anymore like so many people who are working for the insurance benefit. I am waiting for companies to find a way to drop that benefit. Lots of places up here don't offer anything other than paid time off for full time jobs. More are offering 1 percent of your pay (a pittance) for you to apply to insurance premiums. Sad. Laura - I must have missed something that you are giving up the flower beds and putting lawn in. Is that because you are tired of the endless gardening work? I absolutely LOVED your comment yesterday about forgetting to check your lottery ticket and being at work "perhaps needlessly" :lol3: that was GREAT! :D :D :D As if... Wow - start at 10 seconds on the plank and work up to a full 2 minutes. That's core STRENGTH!!! Wow. I went in the hot tub last night - first time in a week. I figured it was ok with the spider bite. All the redness is gone but it is still very sore to the touch - not sure how long that will last. Hot tub felt good as it was a chilly night (45 degrees) but I didn't shower afterwards and now I feel like a chemical bomb. I tossed the sheets in the wash and I'm going to get showered and go pick up my lunch at the senior center. Salmon pasta primavera with a fruit cup. I will give the lemon bar to my husband the sweets junkie. He is going fishing Friday to try and catch that big Musky he's hoping to snag. Anyway that's about it. Have a good day ladies and hellos to the rest of you. |
Morning all,
Slept in till 9 a.m. which is unusual for me but I was tired last night. I have had a lot to do this week. Birthday party for our 5 year old and last night I was a salad supper in Republic for the women of our church and sister congregations. I mowed the front lawn yesterday and today I will mow the back lawn. My handyman is coming tonight to do some odd jobs. Annie Congrats on the nsv. I would love to be in a size 8. Sorry the vehicle is not out of the shop. Happy I understand about the whim's. I do that all the time. Glad the bite is healing. Laura Are you giving up on the flower beds? How is your foot doing? Susie Do what you can at work and don't worry about the rest. |
Afternoon all.
Annie – Woohoo for the size 8! Flaunt it!! == Does being a relief driver mean less hours of work for C? Sounds like a good move, he works so much. == Good to hear the ex is recovering, and good that your son is around to help him out. == I went to VBS as a kid – good memories. == I think I’d be around here MORE if I won the lottery – I’d have plenty of time on my hands, LOL. Of course, that would be oncer I settled down after all the world-wide traveling and after hiring all my household staff, hahaha. But darn it, my first two tickets haven’t paid anything, not even another dollar or two so I coudl buy another ticket. :tantrum: My last ticket’s drawing is tonight, fingers crossed. :crossed: Happy – Those thrift shop folks sure do get your dander up! I agree that it’s probably good for you to stay away from the shop and just do the remote, behind-the-scenes stuff. == I always need to shower after being in a pool/hot tub – that chlorine smell is awful. I noticed last week after aqua fit class that I still smelled a chemical smell on my skin even after I showered. Then I realized it was more of a rubbery smell, and only on my hands. I decided it was from gripping all the foam exercise equipment – noodle, kickboard, resistance tube, dumbbells… -- Good luck to dh - hope he catches a big fish on Friday!! Ceejay – You sound like you’re busy enjoying life. :) Is the handyman your nephew? That would be nice. :D == My foot isn’t back to normal yet and I’m beginning to think it won’t ever be. My orthopedic doctor’s office left a message cancelling my upcoming appointment during the first week of July, so I rescheduled it for next week. I’m going to have him take an x-ray of another part of my foot that’s been causing me pain. Of course, using the shovel with that foot while digging on Sunday wasn’t a good thing for it. Hellos to the rest of you! Hope you’re having a good week. So about the flower bed I’m converting to grass – it’s just one flower bed in the back yard, not all of them. This one runs alongside our 3-season room’s east side. You can’t see the bed from inside the house, and not even from our patio. If I can’t see the flowers growing there, why bother with it? It’ll look better and be easier to maintain as grass. My elbow started hurting me this morning and I think it might be related to doing the side planks. Ironically, I had decided last night to use my good exercise mat over the area rug to make it more comfortable on my elbow. Huh. Darn, might have to give up the side planks part of the challenge… I'm tired right now. I increased the firmness of my side of the bed a couple nights ago and it's just making me more numb throughout the night, and I've been waking up a lot more. I'll turn it back down before bedtime tonight. That’s it for me. Back to the job. :comp: |
Good morning all,
Gads, another grey, rainy cool day. Enough already! It's bad enough we have a cold and grey winter - would be nice to see some sunshine already. We are having a summer festival in town - this weather will not be good for it. And it won't be good for a town that makes it's summer money from vacationers who can't enjoy all the outdoor recreational activities we offer because it's raining all the time. My garden desperately wants some sun also. I'll be doing bingo tonight. My partner really took a bad fall off a ladder last week and banged the heck out of his arm and leg. He is diabetic, is on blood thinners, has tissue paper thin skin and is in a real mess. He is in alot of pain - the worst he said of his life so he is being forced to stay off his feet which is a torture to someone who is always on the go. I just hope D doesn't get sick and cancel too because that would be far too much for me to handle by myself. DH is going fishing tomorrow and I work in the Senior Center office in the morning. No plans for the weekend - depends on the weather... Laura - people in general get my dander up lately. As a society we seem to have become intensely selfish with no regard to sharing space with others or just a general regard for common sense. I am contemplating squashing my social side and just becoming a hermit. :^: That's unfortunate that your foot is not healing correctly although if you were using your foot on the spade to dig, yeah - that's probably not the best thing to do. I'm starting to think that certain types of bone issues take a full year to mend. Side planks??? Ow - that would certainly put alot of pressure on one side. Sometimes I wonder if people give thought to the physiology of some of these exercises. The reason I say so is because my yoga teacher is always in some kind of training and she is finding that certain moves which are ok when you are 20 and young are downright harmful when you are approaching menopause and losing bone and therefore support structures. Even some of the regular exercise moves they are finding need to be modified. Like when you roll your neck as a warm up. I have heard not to roll it 360 degrees - limit it shoulder to shoulder as a 360 roll hyperextends the neck in a bad way and crunches the old vertebrae. I don't blame you for sodding the side of the yard that no one sees anyway - especially if the flowers are more work than benefit. Ceejay - sounds like you have a nice full life and have settled comfortably. Aren't you glad you moved from Arkansas with Hurricane Cindy moving up the land? Although it looks like it will hit harder a bit more to the west. Are you getting rain too where you are? No one else in so I guess I will work on a few cleaning tasks before I run out and pick up lunch. I haven't been cooking much - don't say that I miss it. I have to hit the grocery store - should do that today before the weekend crowds drive in tomorrow. Have a good day everyone. |
Well here I am. Had my yearly pap which was really only 6 mos due to the past two years they have come back bad. This is the last one, if it comes back bad, I am getting spayed. Doc and I both agree. Don't want any more kids so get rid of the dang trouble maker. I will know more in a few days. Probably end of next week.
I made my dinner last night. Two eggs over medium and 6 pieces of bacon. Quite yummy. C had Sam's leftover chicken salad from Chick fil la. It is a little on the dry side so had to add a bit of mayonnaise. Sam went over to a friends house and the boys were with the Ahole. <-----because he would take Jacob to VBS. Got my car back yesterday, it looks marvelous. Let's see how long we can go without dings. lol. Zoom Zoom. HAPPY....if it ends up being only you for bingo, cancel it. Don't need that responsibility on your shoulders. You are not a one woman show. Even tho I believe you could do it. Hope DH has a great time fishing. I told C about it and he is very jealous. Our weather has been very hot and muggy with thunderstorms scattered here and there. Awful out there and feel sorry for C. He needs to run his route at night. Too bad he can't. Your partners thin skin and blood thinners has to be awful. I understand the BThinners as I am on them and bleed forever with just a place the size of a speck of pepper. Try to watch it but you all know I am a clumsy ox. OH and VBS is just 4 days and this week only. You would think dingle berry dough could get Jacob there. LAURA...whew on the planks girl. I don't think I could do them at all much less without good padding underneath. Hope your foot is feeling better. Yes as HAPPY said probably shouldn't be using a shovel with that foot. Duh girl. Hugs. CEEG...you sound like a grass cutting machine woman! Gotta get busy. Late getting here and a ton of work to do! |
