LAURA...how long has BF had the braces on? Doesn't seem like long. My kids got their's off too early and now they have a few crooked again. Bleh. Money I won't get back. I looked up Dee, the last time she posted anything on 3FC was October 2016. Makes me wonder if she is ok.

happy2bme 03-01-2017 01:06 PM

Good chickie morning ladies,

March 1. In like a lion, out like a lamb. Well the weather is chilly, we got some snow overnight, yesterday was slippery dippery because it started with rain, turned to icy rain and then froze. DH went to the doctor today and said it was slippery out. I only have to go to yoga today - it's a free will donation for the Humane Society. Fabulous yoga teacher Joan is doing 5 free will classes at various towns - all to benefit local charitable sources. She is amazing or as I said - she puts the awwwww in awesome!

I am trying to type with Nina pushing me and trying to lay all over my hand. She is about to get booted although I know most of the reason she is here is because she's cold so right now I am tolerating her.

I have decided to try - no I WILL give up Coca Cola for Lent. It's going to be a LONG 40 days kids. 39 carbs per can and I have been getting away from my one can a day and really drinking far too much. I will allow myself a spoon of sugar in my coffee and a spoon in my tea. So far I have not died or killed anyone yet but it's still early enough not to have a soda and I haven't eaten anything yet so I'm not missing it. I know that will change. Soon.

I think I am on day 5 of the Krill Oil. Can't say I notice a difference yet. Less sugar will for sure make a difference - or it better. I have tried the TENS unit, the hot tub, the icy spray Anne sent, Motrin, exercise. Nothing is helping and the arthritis pain is spreading. I think it has to do with the weather transitioning. DH always has an increase in pain this time of year too. I am glad I am still mobile even if I am gimpy but I woke up this morning wondering what I will be like in 10 years if I feel this way now. I'm sure the extra weight also does not help the joint pain, hence giving up the soda. Enough with the whining.

Laura I hope BF's teeth stay straightened. Like Anne I asked the dentist when he recommended braces (on my own dime as an adult) if my teeth could shift or would they stay straight once the braces came off. He said no telling, they could shift again because I have spaces in between my teeth. So I said I will pay thousands of dollars, go through the hassle and it might not work. He said right  So duh... I hope he has better luck. Wow ten bucks a day commuting - that's more than the train ticket!!! But ... right now with the foot healing it doesn't make sense to try and walk and do your foot worse. I will totally agree with your comment to keep saving as much as possible for retirement. You can't retire if you don't have some savings because social security and most pensions won't cover the extra few bucks you need once in a while. I laughed at your Paczki comment and the bakery being so busy. Paczki is a BIG thing in Chicago. I stopped at the bakery on the way home after my shift yesterday but they were already closed. God's way of saying your don't need fried dough Happy  I hope you enjoyed your fritter though.

I will say that retirement beats the heck out of working. And unless you want some expensive hobby or like to travel all over the world you can pretty much get by with less than you think you can since none of us live like millionaires.

Don't know what happened to Dee. Might be that she moved and doesn't have internet. Or she might not be able to find us again on the site. Or might have moved to lurker mode as I'm sure some people have done. Hope she's ok too.

Anne - bummer about your review but it's been a long standing practice that the raise pot and subsequent review ratings gets pretty divied up. They usually only allow one or two people to get a top rating and most of the rest have to fall into the lower categories. Even though they DID NOT DESERVE IT. That's the new normal now. DH said he was going to work down to the rating level he was given for years. And then they cut his job. The golden rule - those with the gold make all the rules. And that's why it's better to be a free agent and retired. :D I think by the time you guys retire in 10 years - the definition of retirement will be revamped. Ceejay and I are the truly lucky ones. Although I can guarantee that life will be good on the commune as long as we all stay reasonably healthy. You are in the same situation as my friend who is also older than her husband. She is working an extra year because of the insurance also. I HOPE that something comes of all Trump's hot air about Obamacare but I have a feeling it will be worse and will just support big business who is trying to figure out a way to cut that expensive benefit from the working masses. I told DH he gets better medical coverage for a tenth of what I pay. When I hit medicare they will probably figure out a way to screw that up too.

Ceejay - I'm glad you were able to find something for the sinuses that doesn't annoy the blood pressure. I wonder if Missouri gets the same sort of flowery spring (and allergies) as Arkansas. I loved your post on FB this morning about sleeping in and loving retirement - ain't it grand? ;)

Miss Shaddie - how are things on the other side of the pond? Is it cooling off any so you can at least lounge on the patio?

I have just enough time to grab something non meat to eat for lunch and then it's off to yoga. I want to get there especially early in case she has a full room. I like to sit in the back with my buddies who have bad knees. We substitute chair yoga for some of the moves.

Have a good Hump Day chicks.

MyChoice2bfit 03-01-2017 10:22 PM

Just typed a long post and forgot to copy it and lost it when I went to post.

I have sent Dee a text on a phone number i have for her and I'll let you know if I hear back from her.

Good night everyone.

annie175 03-02-2017 07:41 AM

HAPPY, ALMOST HEALTHY, GRATEFUL and BLESSED!!

Was up quite a bit hacking away. Tried cough drops, sucking on vitamin C, drinking water. I will be glad when this phases out. I made BLs without the T plus egg and cheese. Mine on lettuce wrap. Oh yum! I have decided if I ever get stranded on a desert island, bacon is a must. My luck no matches to light the fire to cook. lol. Probably just have to eat coconut.

Curtis was a darlin' last night and did everything as we watched the boys while Sam and BF went looking at houses to buy. <----Mixed feelings on that. Dishes, got boys ready for bed, put them to bed and waited on me. I was the easy part. Only asked for a glass of ice water once I was in bed.

That was pretty much my evening. Coming back for personals in a bit. The toitie calls.

Hugs

annie175 03-02-2017 08:39 AM

OK back, got side tracked.

SUSIE...do let us know what you find out on DEE. Lost posts stink! You must be tired. That is when I forget steps "in the process" of doing normal things. Hugs.

HAPPY...even tho I am not a practicing Catholic, I still do lent. Having a hard time coming up with something to give up. Carbs...haha. Maybe trying to be kinder to others, less judgemental and praying for others more. Shoot I don't know. Try 20 net carbs and no sugar. I am telling you my joints are so much less painful. I even notice it getting up from the couch or chair. Amazing. Hoping it gets even better. HAPPY...I KNOW you can do anything you put your mind to. Have to want it more than food. Eat more bacon. bahaha. Bullet Proof Coffee keeps me so full and satisfied. Don't crave or want to eat. Retirement, yeah what the heck is that. I don't see it happening any time soon or far really. Especially with the talk of larger companies not having to carry insurance when all is said and done. Keep praying. We will all be living on the street begging food and money. Enough of that talk. May just have to try to visit the commune now and then. Or let me sleep with the animals in the barn.

Best get busy. Hugs all the way around.

Laura705 03-02-2017 10:53 AM

Morning all. Brrr, chilly today, but then again, 32 degrees is a perfectly acceptable early March temperature. Especially since we’ll be warming up again at the weekend, and we’ll be in the 40’s-50’s next week. :)

Annie – Bf has had his braces on since last January, so it will be about 14-15 months in total. My understanding is that he will have permanent retainers placed behind both his top and bottom teeth so they do not shift around. He will also be wearing a night guard of sorts, so that may help too. I should ask him if it’s made of a rigid material or not, because I do think that makes a difference. == Yum - bacon, lettuce, egg, cheese! :hun: == Re Sam looking at houses with her BF – I’m always surprised when people who get divorced or break up with a significant other just jump right back into the dating game and get into a relationship right away. Wishing Sam the best with her bf. The bf must have some $$ if they’re looking at houses… == So happy to hear that your new WOE is easing your joint pain!! :carrot:

Happy – How was the yoga class? Were there a lot of attendees to benefit the HS? Good luck to you with giving up the Coke. Will you substitute with seltzer splashed with fruit juice or something like that? I hope you notice a benefit right away (less joint inflammation) so it’s motivating for you to continue. == Agree with you that when there’s a single pot of money for raises, rewarding a high performer means the others get screwed. Supposedly that’s why my employer said the annual increase will no longer be a merit increase, but more like a cost of living increase and is the same for everyone (so they say). Rewards for performance will be recognized through the incentive plan or some other way.

Susie – Thanks for reaching out to Dee. I hope you hear back from her.

Hellos to Ceejay and Shad.

Bf went to his mom’s place last night. She needs to move around more and bf loaned her my aerobic step, though she would likely do better with the indoor stairwell right outside her apartment door – railing and everything. She can just walk up and down a few steps. Bf’s brother is also giving her his recumbent bike, but we’re concerned it may sit too low to the ground for her. If so, bf will sell the recumbent and buy her a stationary bike that sits up higher. We also loaned her my gardening kneeler/bench thingy that helps with getting up from the ground. For some reason bf thought that might work better in standing up from the recumbent, while I don’t understand why a cane or walker couldn’t help with that. :dunno:

Hopefully my mom starts to get more active at her new place, but I’m hoping she’s currently getting a bit of walking in her day when she has to go down the hall to the elevator, down the elevator and across the lobby to pick up her mail. She also walks through a connecting corridor to the common building to use the bank and get some meals. Heck, she’s probably getting in more steps than I am right now. Which I can’t really tell because I’ve forgotten to wear my pedometer for the past four days. I left it in the pocket of my bathrobe – out of sight, out of mind…

I have a short meeting this morning, then a lunch & learn about “financial fitness” at noon. I’m leaving the office at around 2 pm for the doctor. I’m taking a train to a station that’s about 3-4 miles away from the doctor’s office, where bf will pick me up.

That’s about it for me. Have a great day ladies.

Went to an Ash Wednesday service last night. Spent the night at bil and sis house in Ash Grove. Bil stays here during the week to keep the insurance current at this house and his job is in Ash Grove makes more since. We were watching Big Bang Theory when I had to go to the bathroom. I didn't feel sick but threw up. Hum, usually when I do this some one of the women in our family is pregnant. The last time my nephew and his wife became pregnant.
I've been contemplating on what to give up for lent. I'm going to fast for breakfast and the give up caffeine.

I'm healthy, happy, and blessed.

Happy
Talking about "in like the lion" We had a doozy of a storm the other night. Hail pounding on the roof woke me up around 1.30 in the morning. I knew the storm was coming and when I looked on the radar the storm was on top of us.
How are you feeling today?

Annie
Sorry you don't feel well. And sigh on low performance. Bet it will be better after your new boss sees you ability.

Laura
I think I need one of the garden tools like you mentioned especially when I start to garden outside. I have trouble getting up and down! Hope your foot is getting better.

Susie
I've been curious about Dee also. Still busy at work.

MyChoice2bfit 03-02-2017 10:56 PM

Hi Everyone:

I heard back from Dee. She told me I could share this with all of you.
She said that the last 6 months have been tough with her DH and her health.

She said that the are on a trip to Disney World and took their 13 & 15 grandkids with them. She said they drove..22 hr drive towing the trailer and are camping in one of the campgrounds.

Wednesday she goes back to the doctor and hopes to get better news about her health.

She said she would love to come back to #FC with us and send all her love to all of us.

Ceejay: I have heard of others who have threw up for now reason and then found out a family member was pregnant. You will have to let us know if that comes true.

Laura: Is the doctor appointment for the follow-up for the mammogram?
Is the foot feeling any better?

Remember to get your pedometer out of your robe pocket!

Annie: I hope the cold crud leaves you soon. You are right, I have been tired this week. Next week the VP is here for 2 weeks.

I am not happy with hearing your rating was lower. No way should the new manager do that; he doesn't know you or your work.

Happy: A 40th Wedding Anniversary is quite an accomplishment. I don't think you should have to go to the Casino with anyone you don't want to especially on your Anniversary celebration.

Shad: How are you feeling and when is the next treatment.

Ladies: I want to share I was done 1.2 lbs at TOPS. Not as much as last week but I did miss two workouts this week. My food was spot on though.

From my highest weight at TOPS, which was last summer, I am down 40 lbs!
From the time I started this WOE the day after Christmas, I have lost 33 lbs.

I was the biggest loser for Feb with a total of 11.2 lbs.

I am pretty excited about all that!

I am heading to bed. I'll make it back sometime over the weekend and hopefully tomorrow night.

annie175 03-03-2017 10:32 AM

Good Morning, Happy, getting healthy, Grateful Blessed.

On the One America sign today...Mountains are very funny, they are hill areas (hilarious). I had to read that two days in a row to get it as the (hilarious) part was not on the sign. I kept thinking hill areas, what is that? Duh.

Still feeling a bit cruddy. Was another hackie night of coughing, altho I got more consecutive hours of sleep in between hacking sessions.

Song stuck in head today... I've been through the desert on a horse with no name...Geez. It was about 23 and snow blown all around the streets and sidewalks. Tomorrow's high is near 60. No wonder everyone has colds and such. Guess this could of been a lot worse if I didn't get the flu shot in November. Baked fish and veggies for dinner. Nothing exciting. Lemon juice, garlic and butter. Summer mixed veggies with butter. We watched Longmire for a couple of episodes. I think maybe we just have one or two left. Then we a done til Netflix gets season 6. That won't happen for a while because TV is just now in season 6. The Voice is back for a new season but have not been able to catch it this week. Next week for sure.

My sponsor gave me a beautiful hand knitted scarf yesterday that she made. It is blue with goldish sparkles in it. Very pretty. I thought maybe I was special and she knitted it for me but she said she is running out of people to give scarves to. I about spit my coffee out laughing, it just struck me funny.

Got my 1:1 with my "manager" in an hour. Wonder if we are going to discuss my review. I hope not. It is what it is or isn't. Not a lot we can do about it now. Hope he just forgets about it. Besides no matter what he thinks or says, I KNOW how wonderfully great I am at my job. :) :) :) bah.

SUSIE...thank you for the update on DEE. Sure pray that she gets great results at the doc next week. Congrats on the WL. You are awesome. Hope I have a loss this week but one of the catches of Keto is you may lose inches rather than lbs. This is true cause I am COMFORTABLY in my size 12 jeans today. Not sure I will have a loss this week. As of yesterday, yep I snuck onto the scale, I was the same as last week. Official WI is tomorrow. Do you win a prize for biggest loser at TOPS?

CEEG...it was really a low performance rating, but just a little above average. Last year I was close to perfect. lol. At my age and knowing our raises do not reflect this review, I don't really care. Hmmmm, now I am curious, who is preggers?

LAURA...I don't think Sam would have "jumped" back into dating. This is a guy she met in college she reconnect with and probably majority of the reason she and Chris are getting a divorce. It is complicated. However I do agree with you on that. Men, bleh, who needs them to complete us? Your mom will get to moving at the rec center in her complex once those men start chasing her around. hahahahhaha.

Hello to all,

Hugs

Shad 03-04-2017 01:14 AM

Afternoon all,
Sorry to be MIA. I keep meaning to get here and for one reason or another I don't.

Susie - good to hear that Dee is still around, hope she does come back and soon.
My next chemo is 10th March - next Friday. That's number 2 and halfway through the treatment. Can't wait for this to finish.
Congrats on being the loser of the month at TOPS. Your sure are getting into the swing of this WOE and losing the weight. Good news

Annie - Hope your one on one with the manager goes okay. I used to hate those personal appraisal thingys. They suck. Of course you are great at your job.

Ceejay - Doesn't matter who is pregnant in the family - as long as it isn't you! I'm sure a new baby is going to be welcomed by you all if that is indeed the case.

Laura - hope the financial fitness meeting was worthwhile. Sometimes they are fairly vague and don't really do much for the attendee - unless of course you shell out big money to get the real gen and even then that can be somewhat dubious. Hope your mother is going okay with the moving and grooving on the stairs.

Happy - It is cooling off somewhat. However it is still humid and hot and there hasn't been significant rain. Hope your anniversary dinner was/ will be good for you. 40 years is well worth celebrating

So, what's been happening here. Not a lot. I've been spring cleaning the kitchen and it takes time and motivation. I've done all the upper cupboards and the pantry. Next is to pull out the fridge, clean behind it and put it back and clean the insides of it. Then the lower cupboards, walls, windows and kickboards and floors. Then I will start on the dining room. I'm chucking stuff as I go to ensure I don't have too much clutter. I will gradually get around the house and then I will be able to go back to my minimal cleans during the week days. It badly needs doing.

And my hair is now falling out. I can pull out great clumps and my head is itchy. Next chemo is 10th March and then the third on 31st March. Last one 20th of April or so. Unless they change things. What happens after that is anyones guess. I went to the study on exercising through chemo the other day and got measured and weighed and walked and bench pressed and squats. I'm now waiting for the exercise list, although I may just start to do some of those 30 day challenges while I wait since they don't seem to be in any sort of hurry.

And that is about it for me. Can't think of much else at the moment. If I do, I'll be back with more riveting information.

Laura705 03-04-2017 12:53 PM

Okay, using our desktop to post. Logged into this site and by the time I finished typing my post, it must have timed me out. Lost post. Grrr.

Short version -

Shad - You must be unhappy to be losing your hair. :( This will be done and you will get on with life, just not soon enough!!

Annie - Hope the one-on-one with the manager went well. I hope this current BF is S's true love, soul mate, the real deal.

Ceejay - Have you found out if anyone in the family is preggers??

Susie - Thanks for getting in touch with Dee. Glad you got a response. I wish her safe travels and good news from the doctor! -- Congrats for another good WL and for being the TOPS biggest loser of the month. :cheer:

Happy - Hope your anniversary outing was enjoyable, and I hope the cooking class was good.

--
My ortho appointment was less than ideal - I have to wear the "boot" for another two weeks and see the doc again in a month. And we were both surprised where the fracture actually was when we saw the x-rays - on top near the front part of the foot - near the leg. Based on where the pain was at the beginning, we'd thought it was on top by the toes. Huh. Anyway, I can start wearing a regular shoe if I feel okay, but not full-time.

The biopsy yesterday morning went fine, but no results until Tuesday afternoon.

A cable on our garage door broke, so we had a repair guy out yesterday afternoon. He replaced both cables and two brackets. Total tab was $180, not too awful.

Okay, gonna select all and copy before I hit reply, just in case. :crossed: Have a good rest of the weekend ladies.

happy2bme 03-05-2017 02:26 PM

Hi ladies,

Sorry I have been away for the week - it was a super busy week here - many days I was gone from early morning until late in the evening. So much running I got tired and even went to bed early (for me) most every night.

Some idiot spammer  has figured out a way to bypass the existing controls for posting and is sending out spam private messages. Does ANYone fall for this b.s.????

Shad - I am sorry to hear that your hair is falling out so soon. I guess it's time to find a nice hat if you haven't done so already. Would not want to get a sun burn on your head. You must be getting some high doses of chemo after all. I hope it isn't too harsh on you. It's a shame that your last dose will be right before your birthday. Have you decided yet if you are going to put your travel plans on hold for your birthday? I think of you everyday and we both send you warm and healing thoughts  So with the exercise study - are they recommending you maintain a regime similar to what you did prior to chemo? Squats are pretty intense!!!

Laura - what a bummer that you are in the boot for 2 more weeks. You must be really tired of gimping around by now. Sigh. Yikes in the garage door - glad it didn't fall on the car when the cable snapped. Or that you were near it when it did. Always something, eh? Boy you pretty much set up a gym at BF's Mom's place! Walking in the interior stairwell might not be the best idea if she stumbles or tires. My sister's Aunt in Law :dizzy: lives in a place that has really nice sturdy hand rails along all the halls so it makes it convenient for walking around and getting a little movement.

Susie - thanks for the update on Dee. Hope all is well with her. Did they put their move on hold? Congratulations on 40 pounds down - that is AMAZING!!!! :yay: You must feel amazing too - you worked hard for it.

Ceejay - whoa I see you are still in the path of the warm / cool that makes for those scary storms once in a while. My sister got unbelievable rain so I guess it was a pretty big storm system that went through. Have you figured out who is pregnant yet? I hope you don't have to get sick a few more times to figure it out.

Anne - hope you are resting this weekend and feeling a bit better. Here's a song to get stuck in your head "Sweet Cherry Wine" by Tommy James and the Shondells. I bought a bottle at the cheese store this week and can't get that stupid song out of my head  Oh my - I had to laugh too about your scarf story. Makes you stop and roll your eyes from side to side. I guess she likes to keep her hands busy :lol3: I hope your one on one went ok - that he at least left you motivated enough to continue to be fabulous! I hope Sam can settle down and decide on what she wants. Sometimes people have a hard time accepting reality. There's no such thing as a prince - maybe one in 6 million but most of us don't have the kind of person who constantly showers attention on us. For me after a while that would get darn annoying  The wife of one of our volunteers is always complaining (and rightfully so) that her hubby is not affectionate. I said he's 72 years OLD. Once the exciting sex stops (their primary motivation) ;) they sort of settle into that sort of husband coma bleary eyed thing. We took a picture at the restaurant on Friday and DH has that sort of old man resigned to his fate type of look. :^: I pointed it out and he said that's because the waitress didn't tell him to look because she was about to snap the picture (which was a mistake on her part). But still I see and know that look.

happy2bme 03-05-2017 04:22 PM

So... let's see what happened this week.

Wednesday yoga for the animals was fun. There was a full class. I could tell at the end of class there were some new people who really enjoyed J's style of yoga. I hope it gets her more clients. They raised $145 in cash and a whole carload of paper towels, bleach, garbage bags and cleaning supplies.

Thursday we had fun at the casino. Had a nice buffet lunch and we played for a while. I managed to not have to spend all the time sitting with the one friend and was able to play a bit without being tied to a losing machine sitting and chatting. I did win a few dollars for a change. On the way home we stopped at a small cheese shop and picked up some cheeses and a bottle of sweet cherry wine. Chef's Taco class that night was really tasty. He made 5 different kinds of tacos. I didn't want to eat all those taco shells so I had one and a half and most of the fillings I just ate by themselves. We had a crab and shrimp one, a ground turkey type of taco salad that I just loved, a spicy pan grilled perch, a roasted duck with black bean puree (not my favorite) and an ahi tuna one. Yes he does alot of fish and that's ok by me. I think mostly because he has to cook quickly and pork or chicken would have to be cooked up ahead of time and rewarmed. There were 10 people in class - a fairly big one and there was ALOT of bantering back and forth so we got dinner and a "show" both in comments and teaching techniques - an enjoyable day and night.

Friday our NuStep FINALLY arrived. But the power supply you need was not included - it keeps the battery charged in the display. They overnighted it - should be here Monday. This thing is big and weighs almost 400 pounds and was delivered by these 2 Mexican guys one of which I doubt weighed more than 125 pounds and his buddy wasn't much bigger than that. They were very careful. I tipped them well and then when they were leaving DH also tipped them well (not realizing I had already given them money). Between the 2 of them we probably gave them a day's pay but that was ok. I appreciated their care getting it in the house and down to the basement. And I think oftentimes people like this get taken advantage of. Once they left we had to go out and run errands. Then we had our nice dinner at the Italian restaurant. We have a "special table" we always sit at. We arrived and they wished us a happy anniversary and we got a real candle in a candle holder (they have those fake ones on the table). There was also a vase with silk roses in it. My sister knew we were going there for dinner so she called in a gift certificate for us which paid for dinner and tip which was generous and fantastic. Dinner was delicious - I had calamari and he had his favorite fried mozzarella balls, they made stuffed cannelloni especially for me which was wonderful. I later realized it was Friday in Lent and the cannelloni instead of being stuffed with the typical cheese combo were instead a blend of something like a chicken pate. I had some wine and DH had panna cotta and I had a few bites of my Lemoncello torte - DH helped me finish it off. We had cappuccino to close the meal. It was fantastic. I was saving calories for the day and only had half an apple with some peanut butter earlier in the day to tide me over. When we were leaving the owner came over and said he and his wife talked it over and presented us with a bottle of Prosecco Brut (Italian Sparkling wine) for us to enjoy today on our actual anniversary (they are closed today). I thought that was really special.

Yesterday we ran errands in town and DH took me to the Farm and Fleet store to show me some deck chairs, a hammock (that I've been wanting forEVER) and a screened gazebo. On the way out there was this really cute resin birdbath with a black bear peeking around the base of it. I was fawning over it and DH said "Oh I see you found that, I was HOPING you would not notice it". The compound here is decorated in bear stuff so how could I resist??? I made him buy it for me. It looks nice on the deck. It's more decorative than functional as a bird bath. I love it. We went for a late lunch to a place that has great food and terrible service and got burgers. I ate half and got a plate of salad from the salad bar. I ate the other half for dinner last night. We both tried the NuStep. DH did one full hour. He said he liked it because it is very quiet - you just hear the swish swish of the pedals moving which is not loud at all. I called my Mom and went down afterwards to use it myself. Only to find that DH spilled grape juice all over the front seat and the floor piece. :rollpin: I went back upstairs to holler at him. I had already told him not to get the thing all man sweaty and he needed to wipe it down after he was done. He claimed he did not spill juice on the seat but when he went down to look where I pointed out the big SPLASHES. He was very non committal. No I'm sorry, no I shouldn't do that or be more careful next time which kind of ticked me off. If I spilled grape juice on his new camera he'd have plenty to say, believe me. Although he would deny it, there is a double standard between what I do and what he does and sometimes it really bugs me. Of course I cleaned up his mess.

I used to do 12 - 15 minutes on the NuStep when I was in therapy and haven't done anything since i stopped in mid November so I set an initial goal of 15 minutes. I got to that and my new knee was very happy and wanted more. But my old arthritic knee decided it had enough and was seizing up on me. I had some really good music on my iPOD and I wanted to keep going. I found that I had to change from a long stride to short half stride "pulses" to appease my sore leg. Each time a song ended I'd say I'd finish the lap or get to the next 5 minute time chunk and then a new song would come on and I kept going. I had it on a manual (not program mode) easy stride and when it got to 40 minutes it stopped and completed the workout so I stopped there. I was proud of pushing it. Afterwards I went in the hot tub for about 35 minutes and then cleaned up and decided to use some liniment because my back was really hurting me. Today my new knee is kind of sore. I will only do about 20 minutes today. DH said he was sore too but went downstairs again. He tends to push hard and overdo it and then he backs off and doesn't go back. I said consistency is better and it's better to vary your workouts and keep up with them instead of burning out after 2 or 3 days.

He made breakfast this morning (and left all the cleanup and put away for me of course). I told him he is taking me to the steakhouse tonight as I didn't cook on my wedding day and I'm not going to now. I am going through some America's Test Kitchen DVDs I borrowed from the library. Tomorrow is our annual volunteer appreciation event for the shelter. It's a pot luck and I always struggle with something to bring. We have tons of food but you can't really keep anything hot and since it's cold out, you really don't want cold summer salad types of things. There's about 20 tables of people there and I always seem to pick the table that goes last or next to last for getting food so the really good stuff is almost always gone by the time I get there. :(

So that's about it from here. Hope you are all having a good weekend. I might not get in here tomorrow. Tai Chi in the morning and then I have to decide on a dish, go to the grocery store, cook it and then get ready for the event. If not, I'll talk to you on Tuesday.

Happy
Wow, 40 minutes on the NuStep is great! You are a very busy woman for sure. What did you decide to take to the event?

Annie
Are you feeling better? So Sam and bf are looking at houses. Hope things work out for her.

Laura
Hoping that your foot is mending and that you can come out of your shoe soon. Glad that bf I taking time to help his mom exercise a bit more.

Shad
Sigh on the hair coming out. Do what you can.

Susie
Yeah on being the biggest loser. You have been working hard to earn that title.

I'm still trying to get things organized in the house. I need another chest of drawers. Friday I went to Branson just to get out of the house. Went a new route and will not go back that way again. I did come back part of that way though and like it a lot better. I will try going that way next time. Saturday my sis and bil came and helped me move my bedroom furniture. Switched one room to another. I like it a lot better. Today I've gone to church and to book club.
Told bil that I would play piano on Maundy Thursday service but he had to pick out a very easy song with no sharps, flats or augmented thirds.

HAPPY, Working on HEALTHY, Grateful and Blessed.

This week WI was only .2. I will take it. Better than a gain.

SW 192.2
CW 182.2
GW 165

Total Loss 10 lbs.

My 3 week total is now 10 lbs. Have figured out that I am not getting enough fat. WHAT!?? Yes, I said fat. So I made pecan fat bombs. Not only yummy but added fat for the day. We will see what happens on this next WI.

Saturday was my normal meeting, errands, grocery, laundry. Sunday was church more errands then home again to rest. My cold/cough now face hurts (hurts you too I am sure). Must be sinuses.

We finished Longmire. Very good. It is in season 6 but not on Netflix yet. Can't wait for that.

HAPPY. OMGosh woman, you have been so busy. It is a wonder you know if you are coming or going. The Nu-stepper sounds like a bit of fun too. Probably don't need to be over doing it the first several times. Then you will be down for a while healing. Girl, I am on my way with the rolling pin. Oh DH, who the heck else drinks grape juice while on the machine, the cats? Of course you made the mess. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! What a wonderful evening out at the restaurant. 40 years is a long time. C and I are coming up on 4 years in April. Seems like 40. lol. Love the new bird bath. Um don't you think you have enough REAL bears decorating the place?? lol. Let's see, hmm, do the Nu-Stepper, then the hot tub then relax in the hammock. Sounds like a great day to me.

SHADDIE...sorry to hear your hair is falling out. You are beautiful with or without hair. Your cleaning is wearing me out. Rest, don't forget to rest. Hope ODDU is taking very good care of you.

CEEG...why did you move to the other bedroom? More spacious? Do either of the rooms have a master bath off of them? Just curious.

LAURA..yes the one on one went well. No biggie really. The raise amounts are not reflective on the review anyway. It is all pish posh in my books. Geez, hope your foot is feeling better. Boot to shoe, takes a bit of getting used to but you can do it slowly if need be. I did half day boot half day shoe for a week then went straight to shoe. Do let us know the biopsy results when you know. Still need to schedule my mammo.

SUSIE...hope your weekend was restful and not crazy as usual. Hugs

All for me, I have a closing in Brownsburg, Indiana this afternoon. At least I don't have to drive.

Hugs
