Hi Renee, today I am feeling much better. Yes, I need to schedule an appointment with my Doctor about them. I have nothing but aspirin for now, which is not helping too much. I need to figure out the real cause though.

With all this rain, you should have a good start for your flowers and garden this year. Hopefully, it won't get moldy. I think the sun will peak out for a little while in the next few days here. Hope you get some too.

Memorial Day weekend is sneaking right up on us. Time is just flying by. Do you have any horse shows?

Tip of the Day:
17 Reasons Why You're Regaining Weight (continued)....

Reason Number 14 - You Opt for Coffee Over Green Tea

You probably think you need your skinny, double shot latte to wake you up in the morning and give you the extra boost to get through the workday—but if you always opt for coffee over tea, you could be missing out of some major metabolism-boosting effects. And that's super important after weight loss, as your metabolism can slow down drastically. In a recent study, participants who added a daily habit of drinking 4 to 5 cups of green tea to their 25-minute workout routine lost an average of two more pounds and more belly fat than the non-tea drinkers. How does it work? The brew contains catechins, a type of antioxidant that triggers the release of fat from fat cells and helps speed the liver's capacity for turning fat into energy, which will help rev up your metabolism so you can continue to look bikini-ready.

Counter It:

Start sipping the green brew for a slimmer, more efficient calorie-burning you. We like the Lipton and Yogi varieties of green tea, but you can also reap the benefits from a powdered matcha.

I finally scheduled a doctor's appointment next week to get my head examined. Haha.
You must be getting excited about the horse show.
Not doing very good eating this week. I have been really busy and my routine is off track.
I hope next week I can get back to my regular schedule.
Have a great Thursday!

Tip of the Day:
17 Reasons Why You're Regaining Weight (continued)....

Reason Number 15 - You Sit All Day

Many of us are spending prolonged periods of time sitting, either at our desks or while we binge-watch Netflix. And experts are saying this can lead to an increased risk of heart disease and cancer, as well as early death—regardless of whether you still carve out time to exercise. In fact, a report published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that those who concentrate their workouts into a single session and spend the rest of the day sitting are susceptible to the same negative health risks as those who don't work out at all, including regaining all that hard-lost weight. Yikes. According to experts, when you sit all day at your desk, the bulging biceps and washboard abs you worked so hard to build at the gym begin to break down. This slows your resting metabolism and can make it harder to maintain your weight loss goals.

Counter It:

You don't have to give your two weeks notice to your goal weight. Simply getting up from your chair and taking a two-minute walk once every half an hour can do the trick, according to studies published in the journals Diabetes Care and BMJ. When middle-aged overweight and obese adults interrupted sitting time with short bouts of walking every 30 minutes, they lowered self-reported fatigue, minimized spikes in blood-sugar, and lowered insulin levels after eating meals, which translates to keeping your hunger pangs at bay and helping you scorch more fat! Set your phone alarm so you don't forget to take a break.

Meals

Got pounded with rain today running from the grocery store to my car. It came on suddenly. Cooler now.

I am starting to believe my headaches are somewhat weather related, but I need to track them awhile to really confirm it or not.

The weekend is almost here. Yeah! Don't know just what I will be doing yet. I will find something fun to do. I always have chores, but I need to find something slightly different to do for a day.

Hope you have a great Friday!

Tip of the Day:
17 Reasons Why You're Regaining Weight (continued)....

Reason Number 16 - You Continue to Cut Carbs

It may have worked to drop water weight and melt away the pounds at first, but completely slashing your carbohydrate intake will leave you with some not-so-pleasant side effects that can make it hard to go about your daily routine, like exhaustion, irritability, and lethargy—all emotions which have also been connected with overeating. "Carbs are essential [in our daily lives] as our brain and [central nervous system] require them continuously to work properly," says trainer and RD, Tim McComsey. Restricting carbs completely will cause any newly-added, fat-burning muscle mass to be metabolized for energy, rather than carbs.

Counter It:

So as long as you keep carbs to a reasonable percentage of your daily calories, and choose the right ones, these starches don't have to hit the curb.

I'm up 2 lbs. What do I expect if I eat things like lemon meringue pie too.
I need to get myself together. Still not feeling too good, but that is really
not a good excuse. I hope I feel good tomorrow morning. I want to
go to the Strawberry Festival and 5KM walk. Hope the rain holds off for
the morning too. I went there today, and didn't see anything.
That was because I got confused about the date. It is for Sunday, not Saturday.
It would have been a nice morning if it had been today.

Jack and I had a good day training together today.
I also bought some rubber boots at Tractor Supply that I can wear
outside in the early mornings/night when the ground is wet.
They are blue with flowers on them. I love them.

Have a good day with Steel at the horse show!

Tip of the Day:
17 Reasons Why You're Regaining Weight (continued)....

Reason Number 17 -You Skip Breakfast

Your morning munchies will boost your brainpower, banish cravings, maintain weight loss, and ramp up your muscle gains—but only if you eat them. Eschewing the most important meal of the day may save you calories in the morning, but come lunch time, you're more apt to overeat to compensate for a rumbling tummy. Plus, statistics gathered by the National Weight Control Registry (NWCR), which has collected over twenty years of data on dieters who lost at least 30 pounds and kept it off for at least one year discovered that 78 percent of those dieters eat breakfast every day.

Counter It:

It might be one of the easiest meals to prepare, but deciding what dish works best for you can be hard. That is, if you haven't read our exclusive report, How To Choose The Best Breakfast For Your Body Goals.

Hi Renee,

You definitely got some walking in yesterday! How did Steel and you do?

I went to the Strawberry Festival yesterday with Jack. The weather was perfect. We speed walked the 5KM event, then caught the last half of the church service, walked around all the festival booths, and shared a slice of cheese pizza, funnel cake, and some strawberry shortcake with ice cream. In the afternoon we took a drive in the country and spent some time at a dog park. Jack really wasn't interested in playing with the dogs there though. So we headed home. In the evening, I called a few old friends and chatted for a while. It was a nice day.

I didn't drive Steel at the show. I did 7 in-hand classes. Unless Sam has off, I have no way of taking my cart. I pull my trailer with my SUV and even if I used his truck, I can't load and unload my cart alone. We got 4 firsts, a second, third and fourth. I don't do so good in the speed classes :)

Wow, Steel and you did great! If I lived closer, I would help you out. It would be fun. I would end up having one of my own for sure.

First day without a headache in 3 1/2 weeks! I hope tonight is the same way. Saw the doctor yesterday and had an MRI done on my head. Just waiting now to find out if they can determine the cause.

I love these sunflowers. I will definitely have to plant some this year. I found out there are different sizes too. I love bright yellow flowers. They are so cheerful.

We finally got the rest of the garden planted. Now to get the hostas done. I need Sam to help me move a big peony bush that's planted where I want some hostas to go. We don't know when it got planted in the shade. It's been there for years and never really did very well. I'll move it out by my other ones in the sun. It should be happier there.

Hope all is well with you.

As you can see my eating has not been the best. I always want to do good,
but then go astray. I think it has been more emotional eating lately. I have
been busy at work. When I don't find I get the success I want there, then
I get my happiness elsewhere. Sad, but I think it is true.

I am looking forward to the weekend. Another strawberry festival in
another town I am considering going to tomorrow. Either that or an
old car show. Perhaps both. :)

You have been very busy with your planting! Hope you enjoy your weekend.

I was worried about stepping on the scale this morning, because when I stepped on it last night, it showed I was up a pound. This morning I weighed in and it shows I am down a pound for this week. It seems crazy how that works. I stepped on it again 2 more times, and it still shows I am down a pound. So I am happy about that.

Today we went to an old car show which was nice. Afterwards we went to another strawberry festival and craft fair. It was overcast this morning, but beautiful weather. The afternoon is still nice weather, but sunny. It was a nice day.

I hope you had a nice horse show. Have a terrific Sunday!

Sounds like you had a very nice day yesterday. It rained here in the morning, but the sun came out before I had to leave for the show. I had a fun time and we got 2 second place ribbons. Both classes we went in were timed, so we did better than expected. I have another show today. My classes are in the morning, so I will be home early. I need to replant the beans. It's been so cold and wet they rotted before they could germinate.

Enjoy your Sunday!

It was a beautiful day today with sunshine. I bought some sunflower seeds this afternoon and planted them this evening. I decided not to plant anything on the back wall of the house because it doesn't get too much sunshine or rain. So I just have the one wall to share with my lilies.

There was a humming bird flying around our bird feeder a few days ago. Now I want to get a feeder for hummingbirds too. Earlier, my husband said to buy some good stuff for them and not just sugar water. I don't know anything about the stuff, so I checked out the supplies at Lowe's and Wal-Mart today. Looks like it all is just sugar water. There was one bottle with electrolytes too. I saw some feeders keep out the bees and other birds. Some were said to be ant proof, but I don't know what is, so I don't know if I believe that. I asked my husband about what we should choose, and now he said nothing. He wants the hummingbirds to go to the flowers instead and do their job of pollination. Oh well, guess he has a point.

Wow, good job at the horse show on Saturday! Steel and your are champions!

I have 2 hummingbird feeders up. Please don't buy the red solution they sell. The red dye isn't good for them. Make your own syrup. It's 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup sugar. Heat to boiling and let cool. Buy a feeder with bee excluders.

We had a good show yesterday and got home before the rains came. But, I really hurt my knee and am in agony. It had been bothering me for the last month or so. The pain is on the outside edge, not the kneecap. It's not swollen, but the pain is awful. It travels all the way down to my foot. I'm going to make an appointment today with an ortho doctor.

Well, I found out what's going on with my knee. I have iliotibial band syndrome, plus fluid behind my knee and worn meniscus. So, I'm taking an anti inflammatory, and will go back for physical therapy. I'm also getting a brace to wear for awhile. It was funny when he said he sees it mostly in long distance runners!

I am so sorry to hear about your knee pain and your suffering! :( You must be in agony. The last few days must have been quite an ordeal for you every time you move. I hope the doctor gave you something for the pain too. Maybe the anti-inflamatory helps. Your secret is out now. We know what you do at night, run marathons (in your sleep). ;) Can Chris help you out for a few days with the horses? You should probably let it rest for at least a couple of days....yes even if you think you are wonder woman. Take care of it now, so it can last longer to take care of you later. I hope the healing process goes quickly and smoothly for you.

Lovely weather here. A few days now, and still need a week or so before I see any signs of sunflowers. Sunflowers, yeah! Sunflower Power. :)

My sunflowers seeds have sprouted, and looking promising so far. I'm happy about that.

It was very warm here today. Worked on bills. Just a quiet day. Tomorrow should be even warmer. My lilies have buds so it won't be long now.

The second one was only a day or so old. I picked him up and moved to the stone row. Sam never even saw him...it was a close call for the fawn.
