I can't believe the oral surgeon can't get you in until May.
Did you tell them that you are in a lot of pain right now?
It may crack even more and get worse.
I hope you find someone soon who can help you.

You are also getting a lot exercise in. Moving boxes is definitely a workout.

This evening was beautiful walking outside. It is suppose to get down to freezing tonight though.

Tip of the Day from Fitness Magazine, Nov/Dec 2013
Too tired to work out? Commit to 15 minutes.
Studies show that even a quick hit gives you energy,
and makes you want to keep going.

1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
1 hr. moving more rummage sale boxes
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals

lasagna, stringbeans

I called another oral surgeon and I have an appointment for the 31st. They will call if they get a cancellation. I take Advil when it starts to ache and that helps.

You didn't eat very much yesterday and you got lots of exercise. The scale should smile at you on Saturday!

You're mowing grass already? We still have snow! Most of it melted yesterday and today is going to be cold and windy.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Corinna T 03-22-2017 08:05 PM

10 flights of stairs
10 modified push ups
10 flights of stairs
30 minute jog/walk (too cold for more)
Digging/planting for hour

Meals
Berry Drink
Cheese and tomato sandwich
Clementine

My the weather changed quickly this afternoon/evening.
Getting colder again. I got spoiled by the bit of nice weather.
Finally planted all my Lily bulbs today. Glad to have that done.

Good to hear that you got an appointment at least this month.
I hope someone cancels so you can get in there sooner.
Glad the Advil helps. It must be hard to eat too.

I probably do need to eat just a bit more.
I haven't been too hungry though, which is good.
I do hope the scale smiles at me this week.

I had to mow the yard on the sides of our house where the water drains down.
The grass was starting to get thick there, which is great for ticks.
We found one on our dog a couple of weeks ago, so
I want to make sure we keep the grass short to discourage them.
He is allergic to most tick repellents, so I just try to make sure I keep him
groomed well and out of wild growth areas.

Have a terrific Thursday!

Wake Up Call

As tempting as it may be to reach for a
bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich
or a chocolate-chip muffin,
giving in to cravings can backfire.
Fatty foods require a lot of energy to digest,
leaving you even more sluggish,
and sweet treats and processed carbohydrates
cause your blood sugar and energy levels to spike and crash.
Counter the bulge by choosing foods that keep blood sugar steady
throughout the day for lasting energy.

It's a chilly 16 degrees here this morning. I think that will be the last cold morning.....

Today I go on a quest to find something to wear to my sister's wedding. Our local mall has a Bon Ton and Boscov's so I think I will start there.

I haven't seen any ticks on the cats yet....

Did you find something nice to wear to the wedding?

Tip of the Day from Fitness Magazine, Nov/Dec 2013
Mid-morning.

Improve your focus with a handful of mixed nuts,
such as almonds, walnuts and peanuts.
The protein provides a jolt of energy,
while the combo of filling fiber and
omega-3 fatty acids tides you over until lunch.

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
10,042 steps

I found a lovely outfit to wear. I sometimes have a hard time buying clothes because I'm so tall, but I found 3 outfits that would work and one spoke my name :)

A bit warmer out today. Might get some rain later. I need to go to the grocery store and do my weekly shopping. Hopefully the rain will hold off till I get back.

Today's project will be making outdoor signs for the rummage sale. I've advertised it in all the local papers. Sunday, after church, I've called a meeting with my helpers. We also sell food and have a bake sale. We have a fun time with great fellowship.

Have an awesome Friday!

Wow, that is great! 3 outfits to choose from in one day. That is terrific.
You had a very successful day then. I am glad you found something that you like.

It rained as I left work today, but it was only a few minutes. We still need to
get a lot more here because the ground is so dry still in some areas.

I think you will have a fun filled weekend with all of the activities.
Hope you have a sunny nice Saturday!

Don't forget weigh-in.

Tip of the Day from Fitness Magazine, Nov/Dec 2013
Late afternoon.

Chips or chocolate chip cookies may sound awfully good right about now,
but after causing a quick spike in your energy level,
they will send it crashing.

For a steady, long-lasting pick-me-up,
choose nutrient rich high-fiber foods like
hummus with a whole grain pita or baby carrots.

I had a very productive day yesterday. Got my signs made and numerous other things ready for the rummage sale. Now I need to get supplies together for my Easter sunrise service breakfast.

Renee- no change for you, Oh no, and you have been working so hard.
Don't let that get you down, you have been doing good.
I bet next week will make up for it. ;)
My scale shows...down 1.5 lbs. Yippee, finally some movement
and in the right direction.

It got very warm here today. Our house thermometer said 77 degrees. A lovely day.
I bought some geraniums from Lowe's and put them in some containers I have
in front of my garage. I think they will be hardy enough to survive any more cool weather.

You have been a busy bee, and I bet having fun at it too.
I hope you have a sensational Sunday.

Looking out for small joys.

A little appreciation goes a long way
and there's research to back that up.
Experts say that finding pleasure in everyday occurrences
can actually train the brain to be more positive.
Maybe you delight in your morning mug of coffee
or pause to soak up sunshine on your way to work.
My advice is to try to find treasures in even the simplest of moments:
the result could be a more mindful, happier you.

I need to still cut the portion size down. I will work on that this week.

I can't wait till Friday to get this tooth out.

what I have been use to here lately.

Have a great Monday!

Squeeze More Joy Out Of Life

Pinpointing moments of everyday bliss produces a huge happiness payoff.
It's the little things that count. Turns out the cliche' is dead-on.
Research shows that one of the most important secrets to a happy life
is to relish the many small moments that bring delight-ones you may not even notice.
When you start calling attention to them, your mind becomes more inclined toward joy.
Over time, joy and happiness become increasingly effortless.

Raining hard this morning. It should taper off later this morning.

Chris is refinishing the bathtub and I need to go and pick out new fixtures. The old ones had lime build-up and I couldn't get them polished. They were over 30 years old.

I had a rummage sale meeting after church yesterday and everything looks good to go....I have a great team of helpers.

I had a lovely jog this afternoon with my dog. Not too hot or cold. Some trees have a few flowers, the birds are chirping and getting ready for spring, the rabbits are hopping about, and kids were laughing and playing ball in the neighborhood. Everyone seems happy today and enjoying the nice weather.

You will be so excited when your bathroom gets finished. I find that any small change in my house makes me feel refreshed.

Tip of the Day from Health Magazine, April 2017
Take note.

Think of sinking your teeth into your favorite dessert or that moment in the shower when the hot water first touches your skin-any fleeting moments of joy in life that are not super intense. This week, start pickup up on them. All you have to do is notice the joy and bring attention to the pleasantness. Be. Here. Now. Focus on the bite-size pleasures already in your day. After a number of times, a habit will form.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Live Out Loud

Let out a "mmm" after your delicious first sip of coffee in the a.m. for instance. When you get in bed and it feels so good to slide between the sheets, make an 'ahhh" noise. Being vocal when something delights you will help you revel in the moment.

Birdtalk. Yes, Birdtalk.
I saw a Bluejay yesterday in the tree.
He was watching me while I was watching him.
He rubbed his beak on the tree as I talked to him.
I think he actually like the attention.
Then as I headed on down the street,
he flew above me and then on headed
on before me making noises as if to say
it was nice talking to you. Have a good evening.
I continued walking onward with a smile on
my face and a smile in my heart,
all from birdtalk.

Its time to bring out those tall mud boots! :)

What a great experience with the blue jay! I got my tree swallow gourds ready yesterday. I'll wait until Saturday to hang them. We are supposed to get lots of rain tomorrow.

Sam bought a mid size suv that will be easier for his mother to get in. It's a Volkswagen Touareg. He picks it up tomorrow.

Reframe the Negative

You know those things that usually sour your mood?
Try turning them into treats.
Maybe you hate getting up when it's dark out.
Well, you have to wake up either way.
So look for the parts that are nice,

Hope all went well with you and your tooth. Hope you get well soon! Guess you will be on a liquid diet for a few days, or just a soft food diet anyway.

I spent the day working on taxes. Still a bit more to do, but getting closer to getting them done.

Agility classes had a one month break and should be picking up again in April. Hope to get a bit more from them soon.

Tip of the Day: Make Healthy Living a Lifestyle

While this may sound like just another overused cliché, there is actually a lot of meaning packed into. We can not expect to be healthy, both mentally or physically, if we view exercise or eating well as something we must force upon ourselves. This is because your body, and mind, have built-in defensive mechanisms against anything we internally don't want to do. This is usually expressed in the form of stress and goes beyond just health and fitness. Even in our work and social lives, when we have to force ourselves to wake up every morning to work, or force ourselves to get along with people around us, then this will not last too long.

Thus the best way to become healthy is to make exercise and eating right a part of your lifestyle, or even more so, a part of who you are. How much a part of your life will depend on your personality and what you would like to accomplish. And the best way to incorporate this is by gradually adding new exercises or better eating habits to your daily routine, and from there allow yourself to figure out what works for you. If a certain exercise routine is not working for you, then change it, simple as that. That is why it is best to incrementally improve how you exercise and when, so that you can better assess if something works for you before you build upon it. Same thing goes with eating healthy, and in fact everything else in life. So make sure to always listen to your body and mind, because often they know things you don't!

Maybe we will see the sun today. I hope so.

Going to a Spring craft show today. I really don't need anything, but I like to see the items for sale.

Have a great Saturday!

Congratulations Renee!! You are moving still in the right direction. It is funny how you make it sound like it isn't that big a deal, but every little bit counts. Great job! As for me.....well no loss here this week, but I haven't lost hope yet. I am counting on next week.

Glad to hear that all went quickly for you with your tooth getting pulled. Hope it heals just as quickly.

We went to a Home & Garden show today. It was very interesting. We are suppose to have someone come out and check out our basement and help us figure out how to fix it so it doesn't smell as moldy.

Tomorrow is suppose to be Sunny here. We shall see. Won't be walking too much though. I think I am getting a shin splint in my one leg. Probably need to take it easy on it for a few days and keep it wrapped.

Have a great Sunday!

Tip of the Day: Being Thin Does Not Mean You Are Fit

https://bmicalculator.mes.fm/img/mem...umbnail-2.jpeg

This is a very important health tip that we should always keep in mind, even to the point of not bothering to weigh ourselves. The reason is that being thin does not always mean that you are you fit or healthy. This is because bodyweight is not the only thing that factors into being healthy. Many factors go beyond just you are outer appearance, and those are how strong your heart, lungs, and overall body and brain functions are. The other factor is muscle mass. If you are thin but lack in muscle, you may fit in the category of "skinny fat". This term comes from the fact that if you lack in muscle, regardless of your weight, your bodyweight must still be comprised of something, and often times that is in excess fat.

Thus don't worry too much about how thin you are but rather use more accurate measures of health and fitness. Such measures could be simply how well you feel, or how much weights you can lift, or even how fast or long you can run for. Improving on these factors can go a long way in improving and maintaining your overall health!

Today was a beautiful day. Started off cold, but got cold later.
I was up to midnight last night, but I finished my taxes. Yeah.
Slept in to around 0800, and then went for a walk.
Went to the second church service today. A bit more crowded.
Overall, a very nice day.

Next weekend is your rummage sale. Are people getting excited about it?

Guess you will be working with Steel for your next horse show. On rainy/muddy days, do you work with him in one of the barns?

I hope you are successful this year with the Martins.

Hope you had a nice Sunday. Wishing you an even better Monday.

Tip of the Day: Maintaining Weight Loss Is Hard

https://bmicalculator.mes.fm/img/mem...umbnail-2.jpeg

Losing unnecessary weight is hard enough, but the real challenge is maintaining weight loss. This is because the body, and brain, has natural mechanisms to fight off against ANY change in weight. This is because the body gets used to whatever weight that you may have been for long periods of time. Such mechanisms include feeling much hungrier than usual as well as burning calories more efficiently to burn overall less calories. This means that if someone has been, for example, 200 pounds for many years and than suddenly loses 20 pounds, that person will feel hungrier and burn less calories than someone that has been 180 pounds for years. This can be summed up by your body getting "used to a certain body weight".

But knowing this fact is important to always keep in mind when trying to maintain any healthy weight loss. Thus you should expect to feel hungrier, and also expect that you would need to eat less calories than others at the same weight body who have been at that weight for a long time. But the good thing is the your body will gradually adapt to the new body weight, and thus gaining weight becomes harder!

This process also works in the reverse so if you want to gain more weight, expect it also to be difficult initially but gradually this will be come easier as your body gets used to the change.

The rummage sale preparation is going great! I have a huge amount of items people have donated. The leftover items also get donated. The books go to our local library, the clothing goes to our local homeless shelter and all the other items go to a needy man who sells at flea markets. So it's a win, win all the way around.

Yes, I've been working with Steel a bit. I can work some in the barn, but mostly in the stone driveway.

I already have some tree swallows. That was fast!

Tip of the Day:

Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every day, as soon as we wake, we have the opportunity to create something magical.
No matter what transpires with outward forces, the only thing that really matters
is your attitude toward your own world.
You have the power to create or extinguish your own happiness.
It starts with a positive thought that steadily grows to a natural disposition.
It will further flourish and breed happiness in others because positivity is highly contagious.
Simply choose to be happy, starting today.

It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving,
but like morning light it scattered the night
and made the day worth living. — F. Scott Fitzgerald

We had a bit of rain here, but it is still pretty dry and the plants are all starting to reflect it. I am going to have to start watering my bushes and trees. I think a few of them have already gone past the saving point.

Tip of the Day: Success, Failure, and the Chipmunk
By Kathy Wilson, http://ezinearticles.com/?Success,-F...unk&id=1423390

The view from my office is my back yard, most of which I've left in it's natural state and which also abuts a greenbelt. There is a wonderful variety of wildlife that passes by my office window every day - deer, raccoons, chipmunks, and all kinds of birds. Both the birds and the chipmunks are drawn to the seed in the birdfeeder I've placed right outside my office window. The birdfeeder has a "squirrel proof" shield on it and is hung quite high on a metal pole. However, this contraption apparently isn't chipmunk proof. I found myself vastly entertained by a very determined chipmunk who spent days leaping from the pole to the birdfeeder. He fell many times, and each time would immediately scamper back up the pole where he would try again.

I began to wonder if this little fella was a little nutty (pun intended) as he repeated his fruitless actions time after time. Then I noticed he seemed to be using the information about his most recent attempt to calculate his attempt and improve his aerial acrobatics. He'd carefully eyeball the situation, gauging how much oomph to put in his leap and where to aim for the best landing. He soon became so adept at it that he was no longer missing. He would scamper up the pole to the exact spot he knew was the best launching place, leap with the exact amount of push-off, and land exactly where he knew he could easily grab toe-holds. Then he'd eat the birdseed until he was full, jump down, and scamper off to play in the trees.

This chipmunk is one very smart, and now very fat, little guy. While I was watching this process, I was reminded of one of the most important parts of accomplishing goals:

Failure isn't failure. It's learning.

Each time you experience a set-back in achieving one of your goals, you are gaining knowledge that will assist you not only as you are working toward your goal, it will also make your end result more grand. Meals
Sesame bagel with fat free cream cheese
Chickpeas and spinach, with Swiss cheese
Mock fish fillets, tofu, zucchini, tomato scramble

Wow, you did a bunch of walking yesterday!! That is great. I hope the rain doesn't ruin your rummage sale. Do you have any of it in covered buildings? My husband said we got a bunch of rain here today. Which is good because we needed it. It took me 3 hours to get home from work tonight. A truck overturned on the road and traffic was backed up for miles. In one section, it took me a 1 hour 15 minutes to go 4 1/4 miles. I think I can walk that fast.

I hope you great weather tomorrow for your rummage sale. It is suppose to be much cooler here. Have a wonderful Friday!
