Morning all. This whole week has dragged and the past two days have felt like they should be Friday. Sigh.

Happy – The cooking class you went to and the classes to come sound wonderful. Bf and I tried one a while back and it was not the instructor we expected, and she had an annoying phrase she used constantly and it's kept us from registering for more of those classes. We should find another source. == Did you get your peaches “processed” yesterday? We have some delicious peaches from the farmers market. So nice to be able to ask the booth operator if they were freestone and buy them knowing that, and also where they were from (Southern IL). == How did the dr appointment go? == Yes, that’s the same YMCA I won the pass for – not far from the house at all. I’ve looked at their fitness class schedule a few times in the past and you’re right, the ones that work with my schedule are few. But I’ll give it a go. == I hope the structure part of the deck is almost complete by now and the noise isn’t as bad today!

Annie – I’m so sorry you’re all stressed out. I certainly understand worrying over this surgery, and I’m sure your dd’s situation is also stressful. I know how precious those grandkids are, but you need your sleep!! The surgery will have to put an end to the bed sharing – no ankle jostling! Are your meetings helping at all? == Oh yeah, so hard to be helpful when the SO’s aren’t well and won’t even help themselves!! –

Hellos to the rest of you.

==

I harvested a LOT of tomatoes yesterday and then tied off the plants as best I could. I cut back the Thai basil – lots of flowering going on because I've been neglecting them. Hope it continues to grow in spite of that – I read online that they do. Also harvested more serrano peppers. We’re having a few people over to hang out on Saturday and I hope we can give away a lot of our bounty! I also watered everything. Not a lot of new blossoms on some of the plants - I think it's due to lack of water. I need to get out there more... What a sweat-fest! But I seem to have escaped bug bites, so yay for that. BTW – I can’t even watch the news all the way through now - have to change the channel when they do a story about Zika. We all know what mosquitos look like, why do you have to show them??!!

That’s it for me. TTFN.

Happy, you were typing over my head as I mulled over putting any photos in my post. Took a couple pics of the tomato plants and all the phlox in the adjacent flower bed. Decided not to attach them since I’d want to crop and resize and I don’t have the software to do so or the time, really).

Glad you got your peaches canned. So that’ll last you through the next peach season next year, or will you have a lot leftover? I imagine you give a lot of them away as well. I don’t think I would enjoy canning much either. But I might be putting some of my basil in the food dehydrator, and perhaps chop some and freeze it in ice cube trays with water. == LOL re your dh. I hope the doc doesn’t give him an rx for a common cold! You are absolutely right Nurse Happy, use the OTC’s and home remedies and deal with it! Then when it drags on and on…maybe then go gripe to the doc. == Yay that your vitamin levels are going in the right direction. == Good you’ll get a 2nd opinion on your knee. Yes, movement is important, but we all know the eating part of the equation is key to your weight loss. (Darn it.)

Speaking of weight loss, I forgot to mention that this morning the scale showed me back down a pound from yesterday, so this week I maintained. I’ll take it.

I'm beginning to detest this sight.
27 days left in Arkansas. Will be going to Blytheville tomorrow to check out a U-Haul place and rent a truck for the 31st.
I'll be back tomorrow to comment.

Morning all. What a long week. So very glad it’s Friday. And the boss is out today, so that’s a bonus.

Ceejay – Wow, 27 days!! And how many actual work days are left for you?? How exciting! I suppose the moving part is daunting since you’ve been in your place for a long while, and the move isn’t just “down the road”. But you’ll get through it!! Smart to get that truck reserved well in advance.

Annie – Sounds like you need a hug.

Hellos to the rest of you! Hope you had a decent week and have a good weekend.

After work bf and I went to the YMCA for a tour of the facility. (This is the one for which I won a 3-month family pass.) We live very close to this Y and yet in our 16 years of living here, we’ve never been in there. I think it’s because you have to be a YMCA member, including an initiation fee and monthly fee, to take classes whereas at the park district recplex, you don’t.

Anyway, I have to say I was taken aback at how funky this place is. It’s kind of like a maze and it’s larger inside than it looks from the outside. It’s an old building (60’s era) and it’s been expanded over the years. It seems like you always have to cut through one space to get to another. That said, the cardio and weight equipment look current. And I know how to get to the studio where I'll be taking fitness classes, so I hopefully won’t be wandering around without a clue.

With all the other gyms and workout facilities in the local area, it must be a struggle to keep up membership. Though I do have to say that this facility has a couple things that others do not – outdoor skateboard area, indoor climbing wall, and a “fieldhouse” that has an indoor soccer field in it (fake turf). Another thing that I’m sure helps them is that they probably have a lot of programs for kids. In that respect, I’m sure the competition narrows out to maybe just the local park districts.

Since August seems to be the month where they shut various areas down for maintenance, I’ve decided to start my membership just before the end of the month.

That’s about it for me. Tomorrow we’ll probably do some house cleaning since we’re having a few friends over in the evening for bf’s b-day. Not sure how this will go since neither one of us are really in celebratory moods, but it’ll be low key for sure.

Laura
I've always wanted to try my luck at a climbing wall. Not sure if my short legs could stretch that far though. When I get moved I'm checking into a Planet Fitness that I saw not far from the house.

Shad
Happy last day in Sidney.

Happy
How did your Bingo night go?

Annie
Hang in there! We all have these whoa and woes at times.

------------
Spent most of my afternoon in Blytheville. Went to Verizon to get some more data as I've been streaming some shows. And I upgraded my cell phone to a Galaxy 6 and upgraded my mobile Jetpack.(wi--fi) This took awhile. However I lost some of my contacts. But I've already got one of them back. And I will get another one back tomorrow. When I was trying to find the U-Haul place, I drove up and down Main Street at least 3 times and finally decided to use the gps on my phone. Blytheville has built a new by pass which changed Main street and through me off some. Gps said it was near the police station and sure enough it was. And I pulled up the web sight of the U-Haul place and it had pictures which helped a lot I reserved a truck for the 31st. I like the new by pass. Like Laura I now know where to go.
Talked to my sibling in Dallas this morning. Her dh's brother's health is failing rapidly.
Going to Paragould tomorrow to eat lunch with my uncles. One uncle is confined to his home so I want to go by there if possible to visit with him. Also want to go by to visit another elderly friend who just lost her husband. Then I want to go to my uncles whose sons are volunteer fire fighters. They told me I could climb up in the fire truck.

Hi sisters well it's not as if any men have joined us with all our girl chatting we do. But if any men are reading this thread, we'd enjoy your feedback & we will be supportive to you

Shaddie That bites when you make time to post & you lose it. I really miss your food porn plates when you shared photos of your yummy meals

Laura Having your friends with you this weekend will be good for you & be uplifting for your BF birthday. You know that Coal would enjoy them being there getting his share of their attention during his daddy's birthday party Sounds like the YMCA pass will be great for you. Do you make pepper jam/jelly I love jalapeno, habenero, pepper jellies/jam so much that I use it grilling, on buttermilk biscuits, etc & even have mixed it into nonfat plain yogurt & ate it as chip dip. That's so sweet to share your bounty with your friends this weekend.

Ceej PLease try to enjoy your final days in Arkansas before your move to Missouri. You got everything planned out, but I'm sure you'll feel melancholy just before you leave & also excitement for your New life & adventures coming in Missouri

Annie, Annie, Annie You should know & you gotta feel by now of aLL the LOVE that Everyone has who 'knows you' is praying for a successful surgery & a wonderful post-op recovery for our Anne You have many angels that will be with you during your operation, you know that your Michael will never leave you, that's what our big brothers do for us... I can picture you at home on a one knee scooter & telling the boys to bring it back to gramma, but they want their turns to play with it What kind of craft hobbies do you do? I've always wanted to learn to crochet, do you do do that or knit, any needle crafts because you'll have some wonderful time during recovery to make gifts & home projects.

Susie Tell us how you liked seeing the Matt Damon movie this weekend I've been wondering what line of P&G make-up you like the best & you are still young & beautiful so you probably don't use any anti-aging skin care yet, but what would you recommend for females over +50 years old.. people like me that want to stay attractive for their husband. My hubby is still handsome & cute & he doesn't look his age. His cancer RX he's been on for 8 yrs to prevent the leukemia cells from returning slowed his aging process precisely 8 yrs ago. His oncologist said his immune system got a slight fountain of youth side effect from the cancer RX slowing all negative cell growth in his body; instead of his cancer RX aging him he looks like he did 8 yrs ago, even his mild crows feet disappeared. He still says I'm pretty, but I do look my age So we all appreciate everything you share with all of us about your products for us past +50 years old. I won't get botox or surgery... I'm not insecure I just want to have nicer skin without a dermatologist or surgery...

Happy I'm gonna wait to write your personal tomorrow after I read your post about your latest this week your days antics sometimes make me think of a episode of I Love Lucy.

Time for bed again... I watched the opening ceremony for the Olympics, went to sleep then Dh started snoring so I turned th A.C. on to fall back asleep & he turned it off & he spooned me so tight; that I got up went & ate a slice of pie & am going to put a pair of spongy ear plugs in & go back to sleep now. I need to take my tablet off my nightstand so I won't check my emails when I wake up during the night

Hi all,

Sorry I have not posted. I THOUGHT I'd have more time this week but things came rushing in to fill it up. I have an appointment to see another ortho guy up in Duluth on Thursday. I am in over the top pain here - getting depressed already. Up to 3 Motrins at once, worried about what it's doing to my liver and it barely puts a dent in the pain. I did get the peaches done but had to throw out 12 good ones because I could not finish them that night and they were funky the next day from being blanched. We picked out a stain for the cedar on the decking - it's gorgeous. DH is working on it. I got a plead to work this afternoon 2/3 of a shift at the thrift shop. Don't want to but it's for a friend who would cover for me. Yikes. Gotta get something to eat quick and get dressed. Will try and get here tonight for personals.

Annie - hang in there - as Dee said - FEEL THE LOVE.

Hi Everyone, I am behind (again) on posting.

I just was reading in the car with DH driving.

I will post more when I am back home on the computer.

I did want to let Anne know I will check the PM on here for the phone number. I think I have it from when I was in Indy last November and we were trying to connect with each other. You can PM me in FB messenger with the number too. I will do that same with mine for you. Surgery is Aug 11, Thursday correct? Is Wednesday evening the best evening to call.

Hello to all the rest of you fine ladies...I will be back tomorrow.

Morning all,
We will try again to get this post in. Yesterday it was all there and something (maybe I touched something) just closed the internet down. No more post

Anyway the gist was that I was on my last week in the job. I am doing floorwalking around town for the first couple of days, then I have to get myself to Newcastle for Thursday and Friday. This is just stupid. I finish on Friday. Newcastle is about 2 hours away by car, longer by train and impossible to fly without doing a tour of three Australian States. So if I work there Friday, I can't get back to the office in time to hand in my computer, security cards, rail pass etc. What would they like me to do with them? Chuck them over the fence?
Such is the organisation in the place where I work. Last week I was just boarding the plane in Parkes to fly back to Sydney when my phone rang and one of the guys asked me why I wasn't in Rozelle. Bit difficult if I am near enough 500K away from there. Can't wait for next Saturday 13:05 when the flight lifts off for Brisbane. Already packing my stuff and working out what can go in the case and what I need to wear during the week and next Saturday and how many washes I have to do to get it all done before Saturday. And how much food I will need to get me through the week.

Annie - wishing you the best of luck for the 11th (Thursday). Ensure you do everything by the book and don't let anything spoil the chances of a complete recovery. I shall be thinking of you.

Happy - hope you can get something done very soon for those knees of yours. So sorry to hear of the pain you are in. Glad that you got the peaches done at least. Sunshine for the winter months.

Ceejay - you can do the climbing wall. There are always options for those of us with short legs. Kids climb them. There are options - they will stretch you out - but they are there. Good on you for organising yourself to get the truck hired. How do you get your car there? Is it hitched to the truck?

Laura - It will be different to have b/f birthday without Coal and the begging eyes looking for treats from the table. Hope the new fitness place works for you.

Dee - when I get home, I will be doing a delayed Annie challenge. You will get photos then. I have done a lot of walking since I have been down here, but no structured exercise. It will do me good to get back to gardening and exercise and cavorting with the dog.

Susie - hope all is well with you.

Okay - the footy is finished so I had better go and sort out what to do with the rest of my last Sunday in Sydney. Might take a train out to Bondi or Manly or somewhere and get a dose of sea air.

Hello again,

DH managed to snag us a boat slip on a bigger lake we were interested in. Good eagle views. The tourist season is winding down so there was some extra dock space. It's only until the end of the season which could last into October but I think we will have an early fall and winter this year. Still - it will be convienient not having to trailer the boat. I got roped into working the thrift shop this afternoon and when I got home DH was hoping we could put the boat in the water so that we did. The time is flying by too quickly. Tomorrow early we are picking up a friend and will do some boating and fishing. I'm not going to get much sleep tonight so off I go. Sorry I have been away so much...

Afternoon
I'm back to work. I think I counted 10 days of actually being on sight for my job. I'll be on vacation during some of August. 23 days left in Arkansas.
Yesterday while at lunch with my uncle, a couple of my cousins were there. Charles has volunteered to help me load and then drive to Missouri and help me unload. I was a bit over whelmed and offered to pay his way but he said no. That his wife would probably go and they could go to Branson. I'm still going to ask for a couple of the guys to volunteer to load. Then Charles would only have to go to Missouri.
I got to climb up in a fire truck yesterday also. Those things are huge. One thing off my bucket list.
I will come back later for comments. I need to be keeping an eye on the radar.

The weekend flew by! We enjoyed the Jason Bourne movie. Very action packed.

Today was church--I didn't go last week and it was good for me to be back there today. I took a nap this afternoon. We just finished dinner. Grilled corn on the cob, baked beans, radishes, cucumbers, orange, yellow and red peppers. DH had hot dogs with his meal.

Laura: It sounds like you have things in place for the YMCA membership. It is nice that it is close to your house. I read where you lost that lb that you thought you gained. Good for you! How was BF's birthday?

Shad: This is the last week right? How long will you take off this time? Will you consider other contracts?

Ceejay: Loved your picture on the fire truck! I think you will like Planet Fitness. I have a couple of friends who belong to one and they really like it. They seem to have trainers there that work with you if you want and it's a part of your membership.

Dee: I am 50+ and I use anti-aging products. I have been an Olay user sine I was 14. I still use the day cream in the morning, with one of their eye creams. At night I use the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, but I don't use it all over. I use it around my lip area--I have smile lines, on my forehead between my eyes and at the corner of my eyes.

I don't use any of the Olay cleansing products. I use Ponds cold cream and slightly warm water.

P&G's make up is Cover Girl. We have sold that line to Coty and that deal is finished around the end of this year. I used Cover Girl growing up. I use Mary Kay make-up most of the time now.

You are very beautiful and don't you every forget it!

Anne: I saw you went to the "Ark" exhibit this weekend. I would love to hear about it. I really, really want to go.

Happy: I am so sorry to hear that you are in pain. How did the doctor visit go? It sounds like you will be out on the lake a few days this week. I hope DH gets some nice pictures. Please post some on your FB page if he does. I keep thinking I should "friend" him so I can see his pictures....he takes beautiful ones!

I'll see you all tomorrow. I am about to go relax for about an hour--I am still watching the DVR of the Bachelorette and I don't know who she picked yet.
