Good Afternoon! Happy first day of August! I drove to church in the dark this morning. The weatherman in Sioux City said it was raining there and we usually get whatever they have going on about an hour later. It did rain hard while I was working on the church computer. The rain gauge has needed a new battery for some time. It wasn't on Bob's priority list, so I don't know how much we got. It has cleared off but still cloudy and quite humid. I had a picnic lunch meeting this noon. The hostess is married to a retired bank owner, and they live in a beautiful home on the lake. We picniced inside because of the iffy weather. I'm thinking about going into town to visit the closing store; 2017 calendars were listed in their ad plus I know I will need some Christmas gifts to exchange.
Susan, my problem with clothes and shoe shopping is that it seems everyone else wears the same size I do. I can find a top and no bottom, or a bottom and no top. Some short length slacks are becoming too long. There is a Kohls in Sioux City but the clothes are always in such a mess with all the sizes mixed together and odd clothes mixed in with same style/type clothing. I think they need more help! I get coupon offers online but never when I will be able to go to a store.
"Gma," it will be interesting to see what the surgeon tells Jack tomorrow. I hope he says the surgery is a "go" and sets up the appointment. I just updated my prescription sunglasses for $206, just new lenses and no frames. Bob priced new ones that turn dark outside and the cost was $500! He just has bifocals but wanted new frames, and that's what I put in mine too. Hope your headache is gone by now. I was just asked to join a social group that meets once a month for lunch and a program of some sort. I was told it was mostly Methodists and Presbyterians who belong so I would know most everyone. I was thinking I was busy enough but Bob is encouraging me to join. I will never get my house cleared out!
The house today had nothing out of place and no clutter. Bob would love it!
I have towels in the dryer and they should be done. Also have some ironing I could do, or a good book to read. I'm thinking the book sounds the best! Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day!
