Hi everyone -
Thanks for the great birthday wishes!! I had a nice day. After work, I worked out with my trainer and then showered at the gym and D and I went to Chili's. I just wanted a salad and they have good salads. I'm still having difficulty with a bit of programming code at work. I hope to get it today. I'm looking forward to leaving early Saturday morning for a long weekend in Vegas with my friend. We probably won't gamble, but instead go to a waterpark, maybe a show or a play, and our hair done and a mani/pedi. ================= Annie -- I'm so glad that once they got C's machine adjusted he slept well. I sleep so much better with mine which finally arrived last week. Of course, I've been battling a bit of insomnia so I haven't fallen asleep until after 11 or midnight the past few nights...making me pretty groggy yesterday and today. Ceejay - Sounds like you're having a great vacation! Laura - Glad your friend D's surgery went well. Sorry....no time for more personals. I've got to get some stuff done before my 8 am meeting. Much love, |
Morning all. Happy Thursday. It’s my Friday today – I’m taking a vacation day tomorrow.
Michelle – Sounds like you have a fun Las Vegas weekend coming. I’m glad you finally have your new cpap machine. Annie – How fantastic for C that the cpap had such a positive impact on the quality of his sleep!! :carrot: Now you just have to channel all that extra energy in a way that benefits you, lol. “Horon” – lol – the things kids say. :D Hi Terra! Hi Happy! Hi Ceejay! Dee – Hope you’ve had a good week. How was your time with the grandkids the weekend before last?? Shad, Susie – Come up for air!! You don’t want to get :dizzy: and/or :faint: == Nothing much to report. Bf and I returned my loaner cell phone battery and had my phone “optimized”. Whatever that means. Bf likened it to defragmenting your computer. We went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory and split an appetizer (chicken potstickers) and an entrée salad (Santa Fe salad). We struggled to finish the salad – good thing we each didn’t get our own entrée. Bf saw a number on the scale he didn’t like, so he’s decided he needs to lose weight. Maybe it’ll help me in my own efforts (which have been extremely feeble lately). So tomorrow I’m taking a vacation day and will go visit my friend D, who will be coming home from the hospital today or tomorrow. Otherwise, I have no set plans yet. Maybe a massage, and perhaps a brow wax and a pedi. Okay, back to work. TTFN. |
Good Morning All.
I am working a half day today and will be on PTO Monday and Tuesday. The wedding is tomorrow and I will be glad when it is over. Last night was hair cut and nail fill. Sis met me at the nail salon and we got our nails done and talked really fast to get all of the details rolled out for the rehearsal night-tonight and wedding tomorrow. We are meeting at the reception hall at 6 am to decorate. I can tell you I am running on fumes. I am not only tired but very sleepy as well. I don't see any great sleeping time in the next several days. The grands are coming home with me from the reception and I will have them through Tuesday evening. Then back to work on Wednesday for crappy report day. I left my stinking FULL caf coffee in my car so I now have to venture out to the parking garage and retrieve it before my forehead hits the desk top and I pass out in sleep. Wish me luck for this weekend and also pray for a good outcome...remember my x will be there. lol. Have a great weekend all. I will try to pop in before next week. |

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted. My life is TOO busy. It's REALLY chilly outside and I woke up and can't stop sneezing. Feels like I have a bug (real one) stuck up inside my nose. I hope a spider didn't crawl up there when I was sleeping. Ugh - it's a fine rain out there too -temps in the mid 50's. Brrr. Autumn is here. Annie - Sissy's dress is so pretty and she looks gorgeous. I guess it's safe to say you don't want a job as a wedding coordinator. I feel badly for you - I can feel how tired you are just by what you write. Next weekend you can sleep in. Be strong and ignore the ex as much as you can - all the more difficult I imagine when you are as tired as all get out. Remember that you need sleep too. Don't want to run yourself down so low you get sick. to you. Hope the wedding goes as well as all the work you put into it. I laughed at your post about C and the grocery store. I have the same issue - DH puts all sorts of stuff in the cart and halfway through the store (I tend to shop the perimeter of the store), he decides he's tired and LET'S GO. I say sure, we don't need meat or dairy. We can live on Oreos and CheeseIts. Ugh. Glad C sees the value in the cpap - or was it just a cool night and a good sleep  Laura - have a good vacation day and long weekend. I see Cheesecake Factory is still doing over the top portion platters. Glad there isn't one around here. Are the maple trees starting to turn gold again yet? Loved Busse Woods. Great bike riding. If BF does a diet, do you both do the same plan or is it every man for themselves??? Michelle - hope you have a great weekend in Las Vegas. Sounds like lots of fun. Did you get your code working ok? Ceejay - looks like you are still having fun on your vacation. Nice pictures you are posting. Terra - I think a Zumba CD would be a great beginning to learn the moves. I know people say to have fun but I took a beginners class and could not keep up and I felt awkward and did not enjoy myself. Maybe you will do better than me. Hello to the rest of you busy and tired ladies. Yes, I was going to walk away from the thrift shop but then I get suckered back into it. I keep telling myself I have to get organized at home here too. Especially on a day like today when it's obvious the cool weather is around the corner. A crew of us are going to stain the wood trim on the shop and paint the brick on the building. The thrift shop is such a huge part of the shelter's budget, we want to keep costs down and make it as attractive as possible for shoppers. The building is currently painted about 9 shades of blue with patchwork here and there. Today some friends offered us the small apples - crab apples that fell from their trees. The deer love them. Much to our surprised, they are making dinner for the humans too :D So I am making a fresh peach pie for dessert to bring along. I need to get started on that. We are hoping to squeeze in an atv ride at some point too - I'd rather go during the weekend when the crazy weekend warriors are not in town. They are often more about fun and less about safety and it makes me worry too much so I can't enjoy the ride. Have a good weekend everyone. |
yes Annie - I have found it extremely difficult to hang around the office when I have other stuff that's really more important at the moment. Tick, tick the clock will go slow until you get released. But maybe only 90 more minutes???? :crossed:

Quick hello. I had my brows waxed this morning & then a pedicure after that, both much needed. A couple errands and then lunch. Then an ice cream cone even though it was a cool day. I like this weather though - as long as we get a rebound in temps. I think that's in the forecast. Didn't get over to D's- wanted her to get settled & rested. We'll visit her sometime this weekend.
I'll skip personals for now except to wish Annie a wonderful day tomorrow. I hope sis's wedding is a lovely, memorable day. Enjoy your time with the grands. Hope u can catch up on your sleep very soon!!! |
Annie: It's wedding day! Sissy looked beautiful in her dress and I bet today she will be breath-taking. Brides look that way on their wedding day.
Have fun and smile and look sexy......and ignore the Ex! Glad that C got his Cpap figured out and is feeling better all ready! Michelle: I missed your birthday! :( I didn't even see it on Facebook. I wish you a Happy Birthday Year! Just think this time last year you were facing weight-loss surgery and this year you are embracing your life! Have a wonderful time in Las Vegas! Terra: I think you will love doing Zumba. I do think you should start with a beginner dvd. Just have fun and move! Get those numbers on the scale to move down! Happy: You are such a busy woman! How was dinner with the your friends. Did you get out to take a ATV ride? Laura: When DH and I go to Chessecake factory, we usually have enough left overs for lunch two days! But I do love that place. So, your BF is going on a diet? Do you think that will help you to stay on track as well? Your vacation day sounded wonderful. It's good to be good to yourself. I love pedicures! I get my brows waxed every time I get my hair done which is every 4 weeks. I love this fall like weather too. The days are warm and the evenings cool. I'm starting to look through the magazines I am getting in the mail to see what I think I need to update the wardrobe with for fall. I know I will need 2 new pair of black shoes and 2 new brown for work and I swear I'm getting a fun pair too! Hi to Dee and Shad. I am happy to report that I lost 3.2 lbs at my TOPS weigh-in on Thursday. The previous week I lost .5 lbs and the week before I gained 2! In our chapter we are starting a 10 week program that TOPS has on building habits and getting back on track. My goal is to lose a minimum of 10 lbs during this series. We are about to leave for the afternoon. We are taking two of the nieces to Cincinnati to do one last time at The Rootbeer Stand before it closes for the season. We will have lunch there. Then we are going to the mall for a bit to let the girls shop with some of their money. I like to see the things they like so I can start planning for Christmas presents. Then DH and Layna want to play some tennis...really just hitting the balls. John loves to play and he works with Layna as she is learning the sport. Cailyn and I will take a walk in the park where they will be playing. I imagine there will be soccer games going on in that park as it is a sports complex. Afterwords we are going for an ice cream cone and then take them home. Have a great day everyone! I have a goal this week to come and post at least 3 more times! I have been reading the posts on my phone but I don't like posting that way. I'm a "real" keyboard type of girl! ;) |
Hi everyone,
I was sneezing like crazy all day yesterday. Blamed it on allergies but woke up in the middle of the night with a tight chest and runny nose. Don't know where I got a cold from but I got one. Going to make some chicken soup using the voodoo chicken feet I got at the farmers market this week. Hoping it will cure me. Don't have time to be sick. Anne - it's a gorgeous day out here - hope you have the same beautiful weather for Sissy's wedding. I'm sure you will all look so lovely. Hope you got enough rest to get through the day. Happy day for all. Susie - congrats on a good weigh in. Sounds like you have a most fun weekend ahead. Enjoy the fun. No, we did not get an ATV ride in ... yet. Today would have been perfect because we got a little rain the other day which cuts the dust down but I don't like to go on the weekends when there are lots of yee haw city folk. Maybe during the week. DH is staining the boat shed today. Laura - yum on the ice cream. I wish my hairdresser was better at doing eyebrows. I could use a good wax. Thanks for the reminder. I hope you are having a relaxing long weekend. September was always a pretty month. I just looked up a recipe. Apparently you use the feet to make stock and then incorporate that into the soup. So I might as well get that started. And then maybe pop a couple of aspirin and lay down. Have a good weekend everybody. :D |
I've had the most enjoyable week in Missouri. Got to meet once again my great nephews and nieces, sister's grand children. And I can proudly say every one of them is either handsome or beautiful. I really didn't want to come back home. Sigh. There was do drama but my niece is having some problems that her mom is concern with and me too as far as that goes. This week I made up my mind that I will be living in Missouri. And I'm not going to let anyone talk me out of staying in Arkansas. We are having the most beautiful Fall like weather today. I'm loving it. Have stew simmering in the crock pot.
------ Susie Congrats on those pounds lost. Sound like TOPS is a good program. Annie Your daughter's dress is absolutely gorgeous. Happy You are busier than a beaver. I hope that my retirement is busy but not swamped. Hello's to Laura, Shad, Terra and Dee. |
What a gorgeous day it was. All went smoothly. Ex did ok. He actually stepped on her dress as he handed sis off to Chris. Sam looked beautiful. The boys were perfect. I did not take pics but will soon get my hands on some to post. I did share some of the others thAt were posted on FB. The rain held off. It was cloudy at the start of the ceremony but broke into sun half way through. Just perfect. Very tired. This day started at 6am decorating. I am beat. Thanks for all the encouragement.

Annie
Saw some of the pictures of the wedding on FB. Very pretty setting. Happy Hope you feel better. ------ Back to work today. It has been quiet so far today. |
Yeah, well Happy, think you got the sniffles from me. I have a full blown cold and decided to come home from work today to rest and recuperate. It's not surprising. I got very cold in Wellington over the weekend despite all the layers of clothing I wore and Auckland was damp and cool last night. When the fog lifted today, we had a beautiful few hours and I went out to sleep in the sun. Great believer in Vit D to clear up colds and flu, but now the clouds are back and I don't think the rain is too far off AGAIN. So back inside we go. On with the heat pump and more codral and more lemsip and more tissues. Should be nearly over this tomorrow - I HOPE

Morning all,
Quick post for me. I have to head out to the eye doctor's for a follow up this morning. Hope he checks my eyes and gives me a prescription for glasses. Sorry you are ill Shad - especially with such a horridly tight schedule. I thought I'd be better in one day too. Power of Positive Thinking but it is not stronger than cold germs. Get as much sleep as you can and feel better quickly. Tea with lemon and honey works well too. Annie - have you recovered from the wedding and kidlet sitting? It looked very lovely. Ceejay -are you missing your family? Didn't quite understand your post - are you planning to move to Missouri and your family in Arkansas will just have to adjust? Gotta run... have a good day everyone. |
