Good Morning All..
Dentist day...2 1/2 hours in the chair, I am so dreading this. Then have to go back and get the permanent crown. Bleh. Rather get shot in the arse than go to the dentist. All I can say is she better numb me up real good. I got C an inverter machine for his birthday on the 30th, but it came Tuesday and there was no hiding it. The UPS man had to drag it into the house for me as it was HEAVY. So C got his present a little early. He already put it together and hung upside down in it. Said he liked it. He better as much as it cost. HAPPY....Girl you need some "me" time and no running around or Thrift Store. Maybe when winter sets in you can cozy up in your reading hole and relax. Glad your eyes are doing ok. Dad had the dry thing going on and in the one eye he said it always felt like there was something in it. No rest for the weary. Destined not to get sleep I believe. It does help not to do electronics once I wake up in the night. Bummer on the car, good you didn't accept it as is or it would never get fixed. They probably thought with your eye surgery you would not notice the boo boos. lol. Have fun at art class and do tell the outcome, enjoyed it? Learn anything new? LAURA...how old is Coal? Poor guy with the arthritis, momma's doggie had arthritis real bad, blind, couldn't hear, she was 18 when they finally had to put ole Molly down. She was a good doggie to them. I think they never got over her. I am having my health evaluation at the end of October. We get $$ added to our HSA for a physical, mammo, blood work, etc. We can earn up to 800.00 each. Well worth the H*ll, I guess. Especially with my medical bills this year. CEEG...why oh why does the govt. make us work so hard to retire. It is exhausting the hoops we have to jump through, then to understand it, yikes. May the powers be with you. CHELLE...Sassy is much like Santa. Heck we can walk out to the mailbox and back and she is all over us like we had been gone for days. Nutty. Hope things work out for your job. Scary stuff. DEE...I agree with HAPPY, don't let DH talk to you like that. BS. Gotta get busy, make it a great day/night all. Hugs |

Morning all. I don’t get how it got to be Thursday already!
Ceejay – Oh, that’s right – is your target to stop working by your next b-day? :carrot: Happy – Hope your day-long art class is a nice breather for you. Did you imagine being so gosh darn busy in your retirement?? :D LOL, as a fellow lefty, you brought back memories of the side of my hand constantly having pencil and/or ink all over it. Not much of that nowadays – I always take notes at meetings at work, but that’s the extent of any handwriting I do. Glad the yoga went well, and that no vertigo occurred. Annie – Hope you’re sufficiently numbed up and that the 2.5 hours goes by quickly. Nice gift for C – does he have back pain issues that he is trying to relieve, or does he just like pretending to be a vampire, LOL. Coal is 12.5 years old now. For a dog his size (80 lb. Lab mix), that’s pretty good, but it’s hard to know he doesn’t have many years left with us. :( Wow, $800 each, that’s a good chunk of change to build up the HAS. Hellos to the rest of you! ++ Well, yesterday going home I was so engrossed in whatever I was reading on the train (section of the newspaper, actually) that I missed my stop. Oops. Got off at the next stop, then it was about another 20-25 min. to get the next train back. BF and I went to Kohl’s and we both got ourselves new backpacks. I strayed from my usual boring black and chose a cute gray floral one. The link I used doesn't see to work, so I attached a photo to my post. Hopefully I won’t get tired of it. But it has plenty of sections and pockets to meet my needs. The part that rests against my back is a smooth nylon – lesson learned from my last one, which had a mesh type fabric that was abrasive to some of my clothes. Bf got a fancy expensive one that was still pricey even @ 50% off, but all told, after the sale and coupon, we got a decent deal for 2 backpacks. I woke up around 3 am, didn’t fall back asleep right away so I read for a bit, and eventually got back to sleep. Not a really sound sleep (strange dreams to boot), so we’ll see how I feel by the time the afternoon rolls around. I'll be glad when tomorrow is over. I have a long meeting, at which we will meet a new vendor contact, and then he's taking us to lunch. Bleh, not a fan of that stuff, but I'll do what I have to do. That’s about it for me. See ya later girls. |
Cute backpack Laura. OMGoodness, it ended up being 3 hours in the dental chair, face is so numb I can't even eat. Which is a good thing I suppose.
Later Chickies |
Hey girls :smug: I'm sooo bad this morning. Instead of cereal or a smoothie, I melted a square of chocolate bark (I use them for making pretzels, etc.) & a T. of peanut butter for my breakfast :o Yesterday I made my self a bacon/lettuce/tomato/red onion/green pepper/mozzarella sandwich for breakfast & lunch... I'm experimenting w pills to get rid of pain when it begins & the pills side effect is fatigue, so I'm trying different foods to stop the fatigue, now that ends the pain, by increasing my protein & veggies & taking a long nap after being active.
Tofu/soy products are a huge no-no for protein if there is any cancer in any family, my Dh's oncologist says & also a nutritionist advised him. With my family cancer history that applies also to me. So I'm sorry Susie & to anyone else that is a Vegan here, but I'll b eating meats, eggs, & dairy proteins when I talk about meals. Vegetarians can eat dairy, so I know I'm not offending u. Annie... Girl, it seems like your paycheck is running in a circle always paying somebody  I hope your dentist gave u Laughing gas today & u can think about giving me a ride on your 'stagecoach' :D I saw on HSN a Teeter, Incline machine & I hope that Curtis enjoys it. A friend of Dh has one for his back pain & my chiropractor has one because I asked him what chiropractor he sees & he said that he stretches, get massages & uses a Incline machine 2x week. Looks like C is on the right track for feeling good. Next month is Sweetest Day, my Dh gave me his list, now I have to make a list of 10 things for him to chose my gift... I wonder if I write down 10x a warm trip south in February to leave the bitter cold, if that would work... Laura... to Coal, I feel badly for him & u & Dbf. Coal hurting is like your child. It shows that u & your sweetie-pie have been excellent parents because big dogs normally live 10 yrs. Hey, cute backpack & color is fun & dark colors r not flattering, just a universal dirt hider. If I sell on Etsy or a eBay business I'm going to sew organizers w pockets; I'm don't like wasting my time hunting or getting items mixed together. Now w all the cash u saved on backpacks u can start planning a new vacation  I couldn't make up my mind on which hairstyle yet. Dh took this pic of me last weekend after I cut 2" off the bottom & feathered my bangs. My hair is wavy from my dad & I moose it & squeeze it for volume or flat-iron it into a long, smooth bob. I used to have thick, baby fine hair but since the stress from the ulcer I had & my breast biopsy, it getting thinner & my doc said everyone after menopause gets thinning hair. I loved seeing u with your beautiful long hair, u should do a avatar w your pic here again w Coal beside u :smug: Happs... I didn't think after your eye surgery that glasses were needed now. I feel u about the body shop work, they Need to wear glasses doing their job. Wow u have a new Mac computer, I envy u owning one after what everyone says about them. I downloaded Windows 10 on my business Dell Studio laptop & it took me 3 hours to complete it & then did it on my other 2 laptops & a tablet last week. I like the new features on Windows 10. Now u got a new hairdo, show us your pic ;) Oh yes, I'm a slacker because my parents r from the south & they lived enjoying life @ a moderate pace. As for myself unless I'm meeting a deadline, a daily goal or a emergency; I work @ my own pace to b accurate giving my design style 100%, so I'm a Type B+ because I make time for life. Whatever happens to my health, it won't change my values. Your Dh sounds like he should teach aLL men a class on 'How To Be a Fabulous Husband' :D because he's such a Wonderful husband to you, u are blessed. Michelle, Terra, Susie, Shad, Ceej  Annie... I just read your post. I'm sorry my little sister, but it looks like u will have to drink a milkshake :p w a straw for your supper tonight so u won't bite yourself eating w that numb mouth. Take care of that tooth. |
Hi Everyone. As usual a busy work week. I worked at the office most nights until 6:30 or 7, then came home, ate a bite and worked from 9-11.
I didn't do the 9-11 last night. I was just beat! October 12 we are talking about my work plan. I am so ready to talk it and get more balance. I am good working 5-8 hours a week over but 14+ no!!! I have been struggling with exercise and getting it in when I work like that. This week I knew I was going to work late at the office and wouldn't want to exercise when I got home. It has been a beautiful weather week this week, so I took my workout clothes to work. When I left the building I would put my work clothes in the car and then walk the underground tunnels we have to the other building across the street, loop around that building and walk back to my car. About 2 miles total. It was great! When I got home, my workout was done and I could eat and then work some more. I can't do that all the time as the weather won't always be that nice and I prefer to ride share with DH to save $$. But this week, it was what I could do, so I did it. Dee:  I am so sorry that your are feeling so badly. I have fibro as well as IC and those diseases are "unseen" and really, really make me hurt and very tired at times. When I first got them, fibro first, IC about 10 yrs later, I felt like I had mono. I have read that about tufo, and I don't eat it much. My family doesn't have a history of cancer but I say, everything in moderation is always the best. I'm not vegan, I'm vegetarian and so I do eat dairy. Vegan is really hard to do and I like my eggs, cheese and milk. Annie: You asked how much have I lost all together. Well, since I got back on track this last time about 12 lbs. I have had some small games every once in awhile that set me back but I'm really trying hard this time. Why did C want an invertor? Does he have back issues? Laura: Your backpack is pretty. I'm sorry to hear that Cole is feeling the effects of aging. You are good parents to him. Shad: how are you feeling? Is the cold gone? I should send you some Puffs with lotion...after all my company makes them! I hope you are feeling better. Happy: your hair sound pretty. You mentioned that it was weird to be able to see the hairdresser doing your hair for the first time. I remember that feeling after I had my lasik. Michelle: I'm so jealous! Styx and Def Leppard! Bands from back in the day! I have seen them many, many times then and recently. It's been 4 years since I saw Def Leppard. The drummer is amazing to watch. Have fun!!! Ceejay: It looked and sounds like you really enjoyed your vacation. Good for you! I find being around children really improve my mood. Hi to Terra. I need to run..time for TOPS here in about 30 minutes. See you all later! |
Good morning, Dh just left for work & it's raining. Up here our temps r leaving the 80's & fall begins today w low 70's & a weekend of wet weather...
I hope everyone has a nice weekend  |
Good Friday Morning to All....
Not much of an evening, ran some errands after work then came home and made rotisserie chicken salad and angeled eggs for dinner. Dishes, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and bed. Wow I sound like my parents. lol B O R I N G Last night was Cs first night on the CPap. He did very well once he got to sleep, took him about an hour to get used to it but slept like a baby thereafter. This must be a new fangled machine cause it makes NO noise at all. I woke up and had to look over the top of him to see if he was using it. It is a Resmed Airsense 10 Elite, if that makes any sense to anyone. SUSIE...yes C does have a very bad back from doing route sales delivery for the past 26 years. He goes to a chiropractor every couple of months now and the inverter table is supposed to help with his back. He was on it this morning just before he left. October 12 cannot get here soon enough for you to unload some of the workload. Be sure to give up the yuckiest stuff first. :) GREAT JOB on the WL, I for one, am very proud of you, keep up the good work!! DEE....well early good morning to you, hope you are having a feel good day sister. Good health vibes and prayers coming your way! I am posting this and going back to read the other's posts as that is all I can remember. Early signs of Old Timer's I guess. |
LAURA....I love bags and backpacks with lots of pockets. My downfall is bags, purses and backpacks. C is always asking if we can get rid of some of my bags, um, like no. I must have 50 of the recycle bags for groceries and shopping. I keep about 10 of them in the back end of my RAV. Just never know when a girl might need one. Heck I have 4 here at work in my "spare" drawer. Pack rat with bags. Nothing in them tho, I guess that is the bright side.
Hello to the rest of you great women, try to make it a positive, wonderful day. Shout out to SHAD..hope your cold is getting better. |
Quick good morning to all from the train. TGIF! Was rainy late yesterday and it's been thunder-y & rainy sporadically ever since . Humid right now - ick.
Have a meeting first thing that's long, then if we have time we'll discuss something else. Then it's lunch out with some of the group. Can't wait until this is over, then on to a calm afternoon. Hope to a get back for personals later today. Bye for now. |
Hi everyone -
Happy Friday. Work has been crazy busy...and all week, I've felt like I was coming down with something. I was supposed to go to a play last night with some friends, but I opted to stay home. I'm going to a comedy club tonight with friends, and to a Styx/Def Leppard concert tomorrow night with another friend. Tomorrow's just a crazy busy day all around starting with taking Santa to the groomers at 7, going for a 6 mile training run/walk (I'm doing a 10K next weekend), then it's to a doggie festival called Bark in the Park. Then home for a few hours before heading to the concert. No plans for Sunday thank goodness, though I'm sure I'll be tackling Mount Washmore, grocery shopping, and fruit and veggie chopping. I'll try and do personals later. Much love and big hugs to all, |
Morning Dee
------------ Went to the eye doctor yesterday morning. I would have forgotten about the appointment so it was a good thing they called. He says the cataracts are ready to come off. I've lost some vision. I'm calling the office this morning to see if he will refer me to and eye doctor in Jonesboro. It would be easier for me to get some one to go with me. I told him I was moving next year. I've lost 3 pounds over the past 2 weeks. My sis has me in exercise mode but I can't seem to get the calories under control. I am working on it though. Need to pay some bills this morning and clean house. ---------- Annie Glad the cpap machine is quiet and helping C. |
Good morning everyone,
I am so excited - I TOTALLY HAVE THE DAY ALL TO MYSELF :dancer: :yay: :carrot: I have a list of about 25 things to get done and I've already popped a few of them off. I woke up at 6am today for a potty stop and remembered I forgot to toss a box of old strawberries in the trash (today is garbage pick up). DH had already gotten up and walked the bins to the street. I looked out the window - first light was breaking with the most beautiful blue sky - it was a clear morning and you could still see the bright stars like Venus twinkling in the sky. It would have been a nice morning to get up right then and there but I have been rising extra early all week and shorting myself on sleep so I went back to bed until 9  I did wake up feeling rested for a change. I really am motivated to get things tidied up here so I am not minding that my day is full of house work and laundry. I'm not fastidious but sometimes even the piles get to me. It's supposed to be a beautiful next couple of days too. Might take out the garden tomorrow - the weather will turn into the 40's at night regularly which is bad for both ripening and flavor of the tomatoes. Oh wait - first I have to rake pine needles to cover the beds - ok, maybe next weekend. Wait that's our fall festivals weekend kick off up here. Ok, maybe a little longer or during the week one day  We have our fall festivals and then is Cranberry Fest and Apple Fest just down the road. I would love to go to apple fest but they have about 100,000 people invading a town that has a winter population of 482 people. (It's a summer resort town). You park your car out of town and they have busses shuttling people into town. Too crowded for me. Probably 10,000 calories too with all the apple vendors. It's supposed to be a spectacular apple season this year - perfect weather and extra juicy apples. DH and I will probably take a drive up north to hit some of the orchards the week before the festival and do some leaf color peeping. I went to an art class yesterday - drawing. I was tempted to skip it because things are backing up but I went - didn't want to lose the $30 I paid for it. It was fun. The teacher / artist was a bit of a wacky guy - not really organized - following him sometimes was like following a handball in a court match :dizzy: but he was sooo encouraging. I had a great time. Nice people attending the class too. I REALLY do have to make time (not find time, MAKE time) to work on my writing and drawing this winter. But first I have to clean out my hobby room to make space. ;) Ceejay - that's good about the cataracts, one eye or both? Plan on having someone drive you home - you will be getting lite anesthesia - they won't release you without someone to drive you home. Congrats on pounds down, I know what you mean about controlling calories - with the weather turning cooler, I do find myself getting hungrier and looking to graze more. Michelle - sounds like you have a fun weekend, though I'm not sure I'd call a 6 mile walk fun :faint: Proud of you for doing a 10K. Annie - I don't have a lot of purses but more than any husband thinks a wife needs. I won't part with them either. Yet. I'm glad C's CPAP is quiet. Will keep that model in mind when DH gets a new one. His current one is pretty quiet it's just that he does not adjust the straps tight enough on his mask (doesn't like the marks it leaves on his face in the morning) so because of that when he moves, the mask slips over and makes a ton of noise. I laughed at your bag collection - I think it's smart - never know when you need them and like you said - at least they are empty! How is your face and tooth this morning? Susie - I sure do hope they are sincere in wanting to lighten your workload - you are doing the work of an entire team! Congrats on your weight loss so far and kudos to you for finding some way to get in some exercise - even if it's tunnel walking! That's how you do it. Dee - I hope the dawn starts with you feeling better today. I agree - work at your pace. One of the things that bugs me is people expecting you to be just like they are - and that includes my own DH - we operate in different time zones, he has his way of doing things, I have mine. I am a slug in the morning but you will often find me buzzing with activity at 9pm running through the late night while he is sleeping. Just because someone does things differently, don't make it wrong ;) Your hair looks like - at least you have curls and waves to make up for it getting thinner. I just have straight hair parting more - I am going to have to take up wearing a ball cap or something! Laura - the art teacher introduced us to a "smudging stick" but I said being left handed, I had a smudging stick attached to my wrist  That's really interesting about the mesh backpack being abrasive to your clothes - I would have never thought of that. Is that what you use going back and forth to the office? That's funny - though probably not - that you missed your train stop. Oops. :dizzy: Too far to walk back - was BF waiting for you or did you bike it? Terra - where you been girl? I know Shad is probably buried in training stuff. Thinking of you both. :grouphug: Well I am off to do stuff - 1pm already. Where does the day go? Have a good weekend everyone. |
Afternoon all. Didn’t get back from lunch until a little bit after 2 pm. Very, very quiet here - even e-mail!
Annie – How’s your mouth feeling today after the 3-hour dental session?? Your evenings may be boring, but then again we can’t all have action-packed evenings staying up late like Ms. Happy. ;) Glad C did well with the cpap, and that it’s QUIET. I have a lot of bags too – all kinds accumulated. Free totes and backpacks from conferences/industry events, as well as a bunch of purses. My old backpack just got shelved after I transferred the contents to my new one…why get rid of it, LOL. Dee – I’m a complete carnivore, so there’s no offending me when it comes to including meat in your diet. I hope the protein in your diet has a positive impact. So what kinds of things are on your list for Sweetest Day? -- Will the organizers you’re going to sew for Etsy/Ebay be for purses? I tried one of those and it didn’t work out for me, so I ultimately returned it. But I have sewed a couple bedside organizers with pockets - the kind that get secured between the mattress and box spring of your bed and hold books, bookmarks, etc. Those are really handy. I like your hairdo in your latest avatar. My hair is a bit wavy but when it’s long, the weight of my hair straightens it out a lot. Your curls are nice. I’ll have to try and get a good photo of myself for an avatar. Most of the photos we get of Coal now are usually of him sleeping. We laugh a lot when he isn’t on his big comfy bed, but instead only has his chin propped up on the bolster of it!! :D We’re going to be in the low 70’s here for the next couple days, and then in the upper 70’s for a few days after that, with sunshine - that makes me happy. :sunny: Susie – Gosh, sorry you had to put in such long hours this week. :( I hope you don’t have to do any work at home this weekend. Bravo to you for still getting in some walking in spite of working so long! :bravo: And bravo for your weight loss! :bravo: Michelle – Busy next couple days – good thing you took it easy last night and will have Sunday to “relax”. YGG with that 6 mile training run!! :running: Ceejay – Oh boy, cataract surgery. :mag: Good that you’ll get it done and over with I guess. Good job on the weight loss!! :cp Happy – How nice you have a day to yourself. And you slept in! :) Do you rake pine needles over the veggie beds too? I thought that the ph of the needles wasn’t good for the soil? :?: Or maybe that’s a certain type of leaf… :dunno: Re your upcoming festivals - I think we tell ourselves that certain events are a hassle because of the crowds, and so we talk ourselves out of attending them, but I feel like for myself, I just need to give “going with the flow” a bit of a try. Sure, it takes longer to come and go, but what’s the hurry?? :D Glad you enjoyed your art class. Re the backpack – yes, I use it for my work commute - all the cr@p I carry around. Re missing my train stop the other night – I had the bike, so I rode it home. If bf picked me up, the bike would stay locked at the train and the next morning I would have forgotten about that and would’ve opened the garage door to NO BIKE! Hellos to Shad & Terra!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nothing much to report. I transferred stuff from the old backpack to the new one last night and that was about it for me besides dinner and tv. Shame on me for not working out!! :o I hope to get some yard work done this weekend, but I think the soil is really wet now after a lot of rain overnight and the humidity we’re having today. Bf and I will go spend some time with D this weekend, maybe tomorrow. That’s about all I really have planned for this weekend. Okay, I’ll get this posted. Everyone have a great weekend! :carrot: |

Who needs a whole bed? Coal just needs part of a bolster, LOL.

Today has been a beautiful fall day. It rained all night & today was warm & sunny today. I'm going to bed now, but a memory popped into my thoughts & I wanted to ask about it.
Susie, I remember seeing a pic of Hudda Budda yrs ago & u spoke about her precious life. Did u ever get another kitty after she went to Heaven? If not, maybe a new kitty would b a comfort to Dh & calming  for u both w your stressful lives. Sweet Dreams Everyone   |
