Good morning to you all. Maybe rain, maybe not today but I hope it moves through and no rain tomorrow as it is the baseball game tomorrow evening and we have no interest in seeing anyone play this triple A Cardinals team but the Cubs. So, if it is a rain out we could only exchange them to go see someone we don't care anything about as the Cubs won't be in town again this year. Fingers crossed!
I finally got through to the doctor's office and believe it or not, she was booked until September 17th! I was told her schedule didn't come out until Wednesday the 22nd, and I called at 8:05 on the 23rd! How do you schedule that many patients in one day? I bet her schedule came out before yesterday. GRRRR! Anyway, I at least have an appointment and it is just for a diabetes check, overall is everything ok and to get new prescription med refills for the year.
I entered a contest through my credit union and it would be nice if we win. Grand prize is $3000 then they have a $2000, $500 and some $250 prizes! You were supposed to upload a photo and caption it with what you would do with a new boat, new car, new motorcycle or new RV. This is the photo I entered with the caption, "We would take our friends on a boat ride so they don't make us walk the plank." Silly but I knew since it was a panel of judges and not just random pics that you would have to do something that was either really heart touching or funny. It was the funniest picture I could find.
Susan: Jack's supplement is Tricare for life so I am sure when the time comes it will all get figured out. He doesn't need the surgery yet. We didn't have to change our prescription plan for him when he went on Medicare and they pay 100% for the prescriptions he is on now and it is 90 days at a time. It can give you a headache trying to figure stuff out. Jack doesn't have serious health problems, just goes to his dr once a year and his cardiologist once a year and that's pretty much it unless he gets a cold or something. Me, I feel I spend my life at some doctor's office. At least I don't have surgical appointments every week. I still have tests and blood tests I have to go through at least twice a year.
Maggie: I believe you should "pay it forward." I think if people would do just one nice thing and get nothing for it and that person would do one nice thing and on and on, maybe this old world would have a lot less hate. We had an 84 year old lady just recently evicted from her home because she had been mugged at the bus stop and they robbed her and her rent money was in her purse. The jerk who owned the house put her and her belongings out on the street and this poor woman sat out in a major thunderstorm, the one we had a week or so ago where the winds were 70 MPH!!! The news got ahold of it and this nice man put her in a hotel and another person started a gofund for her and she now has a new place to live.
Jean: Belviq is a pill that works with the serotonin in the brain to make you feel full. I read every piece of literature I could on the medication and as many posts from people who were on it. I just read some more stuff yesterday on it. The thing with me is I don't eat when I am stressed, sad, mad, or bored. I gained most of my weight over a long period of time, decades in fact 2-3 lbs a year combined with gaining with my pregnancies and no one guiding me to take it off. I don't eat junk food, like chips and such except rarely. We don't even have stuff like that in the house. Jack has those individual packs of cookies and he has lower fat ice cream, but I don't eat either of them because of my diabetes. We have no other foods like that in the house. I can go for periods of time eating exactly as I should, losing weight and being ok, then here we go and I feel starved all the time. I diligently use the 20 minute wait thing, then end up eating over my points and such. Like I said, I am keeping my weight the same, but I am not losing because I know I am eating too much. Anyway, I am going to talk to her about this. I cannot have gastric bypass or lap band even if I wanted to because of my prior surgeries. Right now, for me, it is just a mess and makes me very sad because I am willing to put in the effort it takes I just need some kind of help.
You all have a great day and weekend. Jack has some maintenance on the car tomorrow then we need to go get his contact prescription at the dr's, I need more fruit and veg at Walmarts and we have the game in the evening.
Good Afternoon! It's been cloudy and very humid in my corner of the world this morning. The sun is out now so know it will be steamy outside. I've been looking for airline tickets online and it was driving me crazy so I gave up and went to WM. They weren't very busy for some reason. Then I stopped at the grocery store for fresh fruit. Bob grilled steaks this noon.
"Gma," we could use a nice gentle rain. I hope it doesn't rain for the Cubs game. That would be so exciting if you would win some money! That is a cute picture! I used to enter the Publisher Clearing House or whatever it's called. I finally wished up, but was on their mailing list for years. Maybe I already shared this, but there was a big motorhome parked next door for the bike ride. Bob was out working in the yard and the guy came over to ask if we had any fans he could borrow because the air conditioner unit broke. We had two box fans, one I took to school and the other Bob took to Canada fishing. He was tickled to get them and said he would leave them by the garage door the next morning. Bob told him to keep them, as we haven't used them in several years and have a couple other little fans. The guy was so appreciative, and I told Bob I hope they still worked ok. I know how frustrating the weight loss game can be. I have been on a kick of wanting to chew anything crunchy. Not good. I hope Belviq will help you.
Not much else newsy from my house today. I'm off to do Boomer chores. Hope you all enjoy your day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
We had a wonderful drive about this state today and were happy to see that all the hills are still clothed in green. We stopped by our favorite jerky place and I had a nice conversation with the man who bought the business next door and will be turning it into a soft drink, snacks and antique store & handmade items from the folks in this state. He sure liked that glass building I made for the meat market man which he has sitting in his front window. He would love to have some of my village to display.
DONNA FAYE There are places on the internet that you can get coupons to greatly cut back the price of Belivq. There is also lots of medical information about it “out there.” Be sure you are well informed about it with your particular body system before you start the program.
Good morning to you all. Today is baseball game day and the heat index here is between 111 and 113 late this afternoon. I am glad I bought the Redbird Club tickets which allows you to sit in ac if you want and watch the game. My only worry is Jack parking the car and walking back to it after the game is over. I told him to give me his phone and wallet and such and I will keep it at the park until he gets back there. Downtown Memphis can be a spooky place sometimes. Hopefully he can walk back to the car with a group from the ballpark.
Jack left a little while ago to go to Firestone and get the car stuff done. Hopefully it will be no more than $300. I have two coupons, one for the oil change and one for the brake maintenance. Gonna be boring for him except he does have his Ipad so he can play games and such while he is there.
Jean: That was a nice thing to do for the guy in the RV. It must be awful to not have ac when it gets real hot traveling around. Both dresses are going back as are the expensive sunglasses. I have not had a very good week with internet buys this time. The sunglasses don't fit properly and everything looks "wavy" when I put them on and the black dress is way too big and long too. I bought the thing 2 sizes smaller even and it was still too big. Ahh well. I give up and am going with just what I already have!
Maggie: I can't use any of the coupons and reduced price cards and such because we are Tricare. All the coupons and cards come from the company that makes the drug and you cannot be anyone who has any kind of government insurance, DOD, Tricare, Medicare or Medicaid. My insurance will not cover it either so it has to be all out of pocket. It's just the way it is. Believe me I am not going into this blind. I have not only read everything there is out there about this drug from every source I could find, I will be discussing it with my doctor. I don't do things halfway when it comes to my health.
Everyone have a great day. I have to get showered and ready because we have to go to WM before we go to the game tonight and we have to leave for the game around 4:30 PM.
Good Morning! The sun is shining and the humidity is much lower this morning. Bob just left to go to the fair and get in line for the tractor ride. Tonight we are invited to a "garden supper" by a couple we met on our last trip to Maui. The host has a huge garden and his wife loves to cook. They are good friends of our traveling friends who are also invited. We will all be together in Maui again on our next trip, so are looking forward to a fun evening. Bob leaves tomorrow to pull a camper to Sturgis, not sure who is camping in it for the next Sturgis weekend but Jason will bring Bob back to his SD home Monday. I need to do some deep cleaning in the spare bedroom in case the kids want to sleep there next weekend. They usually sleep on blow up mattresses in the living room when they are here. The fur bunnies are multiplying so really need to vacuum.
Maggie, do you still check on the buffalo when you go for a ride? You haven't said anything about them for awhile. I've never run across any online coupons for prescription drugs, but then most likely don't look in the right place. Can't say I've even tried. When I've seen a "good" coupon it ends up being on a whole page of other coupons I either can't or don't use the item.
"Gma," in this morning's paper is a picture of Iowa's Shawn Johnson (Olympic gold medal winner) getting engaged on Wrigley Field. When I saw "Cubs" I got excited thinking you were there, then realized wrong field. I'm sorry you had to return the dresses and sunglasses. I just ordered some capris online and was pleasantly surprised they fit. They are Dockers which I already have so took a chance. Slacks vary so much even in the same brand. Do you save receipts from OTC items, contact solution, etc.? I try to remember to do it for tax time. We get tear off "stubs" with prescriptions and I staple them with the receipts. I figure every little bit helps. Have a nice time at the game -- hope it is a good one!
Wishing you all a nice sunny super duper Saturday! Enjoy!
Another HOT day in the ♥-Land. We went out and about the town today and ran some errands. Will is now picking up our friend who has the gun shop and they are going to go to a place several miles away to attend a presentation at the old Fort which includes feeding them dinner. It is a special tour that they only let “special” folks go on. There is a fellow going to give a talk about some of his old guns he has in his collection. It includes a gun that there were only a hundred made at the time and he has one of them. So I am “home alone” with the dog and the cat with the air conditioner going to keep the house cool.
We bought a bunch of fresh veggies that I need to clean and prepare and put in baggies for my snacks. I use a little tub of the light ranch to dip some of them in which makes a nice middle of the day “pick me up.” I had my drink at noon and it usually lasts me until around 3 o’clock and if I have my veggies all fixed up it sure helps me keep on track. If we go somewhere in the early afternoon it is easy to just grab a baggie of veggies to take along ~ I am in trouble if I don’t.
The weather is said to continue to be in the hot range until mid next week. That will be nice to have it cooled down and we can put some things in the MH then that we will need when we are at the lake where Will is going to officiate the wedding.
JEAN Yes, we visit the buffalo each day but they are not nearly as neat as when the huge old male and different females were there. They brought in a young male and he is looking better each week but he was so young when they put him in that pen. They left one female and 3 of the young female ones that were born awhile back and now are getting big.
DONNA FAYE That is too bad you will have to pay full price for Belviq. Hope your health provider does approve it for you to use. Will checked with the pharmacy here and since I have parts of Medicare and Piggy Back and parts of my Insurance he said it would be covered if I wanted to get a perscription from my doctor.
Good morning to you all. I hope your day is going to be great. We are going to be very hot today. We have a heat advisory that could reach 115 in heat index again today. We are staying indoors.
I guess I am going to have to have a discussion with that husband of mine. First off I had a coupon for a rebate on the oil change and the guy told Jack I had to do a mail in. I texted Jack back and told him that right on the coupon it says "Redeem this coupon at participating stores." He said they both looked and the coupon I gave him didn't say that. Well, I printed it out this morning from the website to show him. Secondly, they did this summer package special and charged us for it and I don't think Jack said it was ok besides the fact we are "gold" customers and all the stuff they did is free for us! Men! I told him he should be glad I wasn't there yesterday as there would have been some you know what chewed.
It was 98 degrees at the ballpark yesterday, but we stayed cool and wonderful. Like I said we had Redbird Club tickets which gets you into a special area that has high stools and tables, a bar that serves unlimited free sodas, wine and beer, a buffet that serves half an hour before the start of the game and the first 90 minutes of the game. It had your regular ballpark food like hot dogs and sausages, then cheese and crackers, salad, mixed veg, nachos, a few other things, cupcakes for dessert and bags of popcorn. We figured it out and with the $10 we paid for parking the tickets, with the food and drink we ate, we paid roughly $13 per ticket and the clincher was the room was air conditioned, there were tvs everywhere and the wall looking our into the ballpark was all glass. They had this seating right next to the glass looking down onto the field that was really comfy chairs and a coffee table. Jack and I grabbed two of the seats and sat there the whole game and it was great. The guy that works the room said they are the first to go so when we go again we will get there as soon as the gates open so we can snag them again. We had a great view of the game and were very comfortable and the food and drinks were great and we had a table to eat at. We would definitely do this again when the Cubs come into town, but they are done here for the year. We left at the start of the 9th inning as we decided not to stay for the fireworks, got on the elevator and got out of the ballpark, Jack walked about a block to the car and pulled up and picked me up, we did a u turn and headed straight out to the interstate and home. We got 2 miles from home and they had closed the on ramp toe 385 so we had to go clear out and around probably an extra 6-7 miles and come back to get home. We have no idea what happened, but there were cops everywhere.
Jean: Hope you had a nice time at your friends' home and Bob had fun with his tractor ride. I save pretty much any receipt I might need down the line. It is why Jack's office is a mess. I save the stuff and don't file it so it piles up on the cabinet in his office. I worked 7 years managing files for a law firm, yet I hate to file my own stuff. I found sunglasses at the optical center at Walmart that are polarized and will work fine. They are Jennifer Lopez and cost about half what I spent on the ones I sent back. Yes, I saw the clip on the tv when we were watching the Cubs game before we left of the Olympic gal. Her fiancé is an NFL player. Maybe she'll be on "Say Yes to the Dress!" I know that icky lesbian couple that play WNBA were on the show and married 28 days and are getting divorced. The one woman is pregnant with twins and the other one says they never discussed having children, blah, blah, blah. I guess the pregnant woman swings both ways and the other woman caught her or something. Drama, drama!!!
Maggie: Well, all I know is that the government insurance, including Medicare will not pay for Belviq. It has not been on the market long enough and I went straight to Medicare and ask them and straight to Tricare and ask them so.......
Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful cool sunny day after a few raindrops before we got up this morning. Bob should be on his way across South Dakota by now. I've been to do Boomer cat chores and have laundry in both the washer and dryer. Yesterday's tractor ride was mostly on gravel roads and Bob's clothes are filthy. Think I will run them through twice, and then the clean cycle just in case. I need to sort through some clothes, some for a church rummage sale this fall and some for the Good Will.
Maggie, it's always good to have veggies washed, cut, and ready to eat when the urge hits!
"Gma," I wonder if the garage would give you any kind of credit if you took in the coupon you printed yesterday. I would hate to say how many times I leave coupons on the counter, or even in my purse. I'm famous for taking the time to cut them out and then let them expire. I have noticed the expiration dates aren't as long as they used to be. Glad you enjoyed the game yesterday; it sounds really nice. The hostess, last night, is a very good cook. Fresh green beans, potatoes, cabbage salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, and corn on the cob from their garden, grilled pork chops, and apple or peach pie with ice cream or whip cream. The beans had almonds and bacon while the mashed potatoes had sour cream, chives, garlic, and bacon in them. We came home with a big sack of cucumbers and tomatoes. I said we couldn't eat all of them and she said to share, so maybe I will take some next door and to church tomorrow. We were talking health insurance last night, and a local man with liver cancer was discussed. He wasted a lot of time in denial and then with local doctors but now is going to the university hospital med. school. They put him in a trial giving himself injections to the tune of $9000 a month. The sad part is, it is a four month treatment, and he will feel awful (he does and told his son he didn't think it was worth it) before they will know if the drug is helping.
I'm thinking a carry out chicken dinner or supper sounds good today. I need to get moving and check on the laundry. Hope you all enjoy a relaxing Sunday!
Good morning to you all. Another hot one in my corner of the world. It only got down to about 80 overnight so it is going to be hot today. Hopefully Jack doesn't have to work out in it. I read an article in the local news this morning where a landlord in an apartment building is refusing to fix the ac in an apartment. The renter says it keeps going out and she has two little girls. When she complained to the local news, the landlord threatened to shoot the photographer.
Yesterday was pretty quiet here. We stayed home all day and did not a thing. Jack watched the Cubs game, but I am so disgusted with them I read a book instead.
Jean: Sounds like Bob is having a good time with his tractor buddies. I imagine it is quiet at your house except for the cats disagreeing once in awhile. Time is going so fast it won't be long and you'll be closing up the cabin for the year again. I know Thomas starts school again in three weeks. I ended up going to the Firestone website and filling out the rebate. I showed Jack the coupon and his response was, "Well, that wasn't on the coupon I showed him!" Really, that's your excuse for not paying attention? He was mad at me yesterday and told me I had to do all the car stuff from now on so I told him fine that at least I would read something before I signed it and not let them pull the wool over my eyes. So, he was pretty peeved at me for awhile yesterday, but it is true. I have learned not to be very trustful of people like that anymore. It is a sad thing, but people have become pretty dishonest.
Good Afternoon! It's been a stranger than usual weather day today. It was cloudy and humid when I left for church, but very still and felt like "something" was going to happen. After we got started counting it got very, very dark and poured really hard for over a half hour. It was just sprinkling when I left the church, then a few minutes later the sun was shining. We had a big sale in the gift shop so I have been trying to match figures between credit card receipts and written figures on the daily sheet, cash, checks, and amounts between the payroll deduction signature figures and what's entered on the daily sheet. Everything matches except one column and it is "resting" before I try it again. Meanwhile, I've written checks and taken them back to the hospital, and made the bank deposit. Bob called from Sturgis last night, and said it was definitely a people watching eye opener. Evidently the more people drink the more clothes they take off. Doesn't sound like my kind of place. He should be on his way home back today.
Otherwise, not much going on in my corner of the world. I need to round up sheets and towels for the cabin, when Bob's brothers are there next week. I also need to make a list of food for when Ian and Zowie are here. Ian seems to eat constantly, and I sure wouldn't want him to go hungry.
"Gma," I hope Firestone will refund your money. It is frustrating when things don't go "right" like they should. I take it the Cubs aren't doing so well. I thought their season was off to a good start from your FB comments. I got a credit card call today, and it "was an amazing offer I wouldn't want to pass up." I thought if I listened long enough a real person might come on the line, but instead the recording ended by saying if I wasn't interested and didn't want any more calls from them I could press 9. I did, and I will watch the caller ID to see; the call was from Florida.
I need to go and get the mail then put towels in the dryer. Hope you all are enjoying a marvelous Monday and keeping cool.
It has cooled off some which is a welcome for sure. I bought a new rifle today called a “Steyr Aug/A3 SA USA” and if you don’t know what it is ask your husbands. I also got a couple boxes of Centerfire Rifle Cartridges. Here is a bit of interesting things about it ~ It is used by 37 different militaries, Special Op teams such as the Seals, Green Berets, SWAT Teams & many private citizens. It measures only 28 inches. No one will mess with me if they try to break into the MH for one look at this thing pointed at them and they are gone, meaning running away , not that I have shot them. I am anxious to get out to the range and pop come caps with it tomorrow and get the feel of it.
We have told folks we will be leaving here in November heading to Texas. The folks that are doing the cancer study with Will said they will contact the folks in Texas who will continue the study with him. But we will be going to Texas for a week after Labor Day and taking some things down there that we won’t be having in the MH. They can ride in the Jeep which we can tow behind the MH. Will’s leather and tools and such. It is so nice now that we have told folks when we will be leaving.
JEAN Isn't it fun to make a menu for when you are at the cabin. Most little boys use so much energy that they need more food for all that energy spent.
DONNA FAYE Now how would shooting the photographer help anything? Gracious sakes that land lord is a nut case.
Good morning to you all. It is already quite humid and miserable outside. This is going to continue for awhile it looks like. Jack took out trash this morning and said it was awful outside already.
I got my shoes yesterday and they fit perfectly, but because of comments at Nordstroms about the shoes being a bit narrow I went up a size. Glad I did or they would have been too short. They are Jessica Simpson brand and I plan on posting on the website a review of them being short as I have never had to order a bigger size for length before so they have to run short. I noticed they got my sunglasses yesterday and already sent a refund so it should be back on my credit card soon. I also got the refund for the black dress, but not the multi colored one. This company tends to drag their feet when refunding stuff. I got some other stuff from Nordstroms that is supposed to be here tomorrow. One of the things is for Kelly's birthday. I just happened across it and thought how cute it would be for her. I got a pair of Kate Spade sparkly turquoise earrings to go with one of my dresses and am trying out an Estee Lauder perfume and got a nice free gift with it. I wear Cashmere Mist a lot by Donna Karan and a lot of reviews said that this perfume called Sensuous Nude has the same soft smell. I don't do strong perfume and despise anything with patchouli in it.
Jean: I heard the Sturgis thing can get pretty rowdy. I wouldn't want to be part of that either. You see enough nudity and drunks on tv anymore. The Cubs are still above 500 but have not been playing well. They need starting pitchers, but our big hitters are not hitting. They ended up winning last night 9-8 with a walk of homerun, but Jack turned it off in the 4th inning because the pitcher had given up 4 runs right away. If they would turn themselves around and start hitting again we would start winning. I have put this one company on a do not call list over and over and they still call. It is some hokey scam for extended car warranty. They change numbers and change locations where they call from. I keep blocking their numbers every time they call and have sent at least 10 complaints to the do not call place. I have read that dozens and dozens have been dealing with these idiots but they can't seem to shut them down. We have been getting mail from some place who says we owe money on a credit card that we don't even own. They want us to "settle" and they tell us how much we owe on the card and how much they are willing to settle for. This is a total scam too and I have started just sending their mail back to them. We haven't ever even had a credit card with this place and never even heard of them. We do our business with our credit union and not private credit card companies as the rates are much lower. I imagine they rope quite a few people into this because they panic. Disgusting what this world has come to.
Maggie: My husband wouldn't know a gun from a shoelace. He has never owned one, never shot one and the only one he has even ever held was at boot camp in the Navy. They used to have to march with them.
Everyone have a great day. I am going to sit and read then get breakfast and get the bathrooms cleaned today, hopefully.
Good Morning! It's very dark and pouring rain this morning. There is no wind blowing so that is good. Bob got home last night and said the Sturgis is an interesting place to people watch. As he and Jason leveled the camper and then set up Jason's tent, a retired couple came back to their motor home parked next to the camper. In visiting with them, they come back every year to just visit with the riders and watch the people. They don't even own a motorcycle which I found interesting. They shared that by the end of the week, two "old" men will arrive who walk around the camping area wearing nothing but caps. Evidently there is no law, or else they don't enforce it, against nudity in public. Definitely an adult climate during Sturgis Days which do not officially start until next weekend.
Maggie, Jason would probably know more about your new rifle than Bob would. There are no guns in this house and thank goodness Jason keeps his arsenal locked up in a gun safe. I had to when you said "little" boys since Ian is 5' 11" at last count. It is never "fun" for me to make a menu or food list. Since the lakes is a major tourist area during the summer we try to avoid going to the grocery store, or WM, if possible. Maddy is a good fruit eater but the rest go for the chips, cookies, etc. PB and J is always a standard when all else is gone.
"Gma," I have a hard time finding a perfume I like. I always think they smell better on someone else. I just bought a Mary Kay scent called Midnight and so far I like it. I just got another credit card offer in the mail. It is for a Visa card from the same company I now have a Master card with. I find it interesting that I get more offers, being retired, than Bob does still being employed. I just read an article saying the younger generation, just out of college, doesn't use credit cards as much as the next older generation. That surprised me, but also don't know how accurate the information is.
I need to get busy on the lower bedroom! I just hope it is a nice weather weekend for the kids to be at the cabin. The last terrific Tuesday in July has arrived -- enjoy!
Good afternoon to you all. I just realized I never got in here this morning. We were at 100 heat index at 7 AM this morning and it is seriously hot today. Jack texted me and said they had to go down into the blower facility, which is totally enclosed with no air and no windows, etc. It was probably around 120 or so while he was down there. He said he was ok so hopefully it didn't take too long to get whatever his part of the work was done.
I got my Nordstrom box and a trial package of these little candy type things called Mealenders today. They come in several flavors, I got the cinnamon and the have a sweet coating then the inside hard candy tastes sort of like a honey lemon cough drop without the nasty medicinal taste. It is supposed to help you not to snack etc. They are pretty tiny but they have a great taste so I am going to see how they do. It is nothing chemical it is sort of like people who brush their teeth all the time when they are hungry to keep them from snacking or overeating.
The Estee Lauder perfume is very nice. I hate strong perfume and this is soft and smells really great. I also got the fit thing that comes with it and actually for once it is nice too. Years ago I bought something of her's and they just gave you the free gift and invariable you would get stuff meant for people with darker complexions etc so I could never use most of the stuff. Now they actually let you pick from a color selection. I got the parfait pink lipstick set and the pink is nice, not too light and not too dark. I prefer peachy colors the best, but I will use this one. The earrings I got were pretty and will go well with the dress I bought early this year for the alumni banquet. I have a starfish necklace that is all crystals and it should look nice with the sparkly earrings. The gift for my daughter is nice too. I hope she likes it.
Jean: Thomas is 6 foot now and still growing. People do all sorts of nutty things in this day and age. Jack was in RIO decades ago when the Navy was in port and saw the nude beach. He said it was quite something to behold. The companies that bug us the most are Chase and Capital One with Discover thrown in a little less. I got a RCCL credit card simply because they were offering 10000 free points which converts to $100 on board credit. I pay off the cruise with it to get the points then take the money I saved for the cruise and pay off the credit card before I am charged interest. You get 2 points for every purchase through Royal Caribbean and 1 point for anything else so we will use it as our credit card for our trip next year and take the money we have set aside for the trip and pay off whatever we spend on the trip. We will also use it as our cc for onboard purchases and that way we will get double points. Everything from drink packages, excursions, specialty restaurants, you name it as long as it is paid for through the RCCL website you get double points. Like I tell people, we come back from vacation and we don't have vacation bills hanging over our heads because we have all the money in savings and we just pay the bill off before we get charged any interest. Credit cards aren't evil you just have to pay attention to what you are spending on them and make sure you can just pay them back without ending up giving all that interest money to the credit card companies.
Everyone have a good afternoon. I need to text Jack and let him know the stuff came.[/COLOR]
Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful sunny day in my neighborhood although the wind is blowing today. It was 63 this morning when I came downstairs. Crazy temperatures continue! I took my glasses in to get new lenses and hopefully they will be done soon. I can see distance but can't read small print at all. This size is almost touching my nose. Tonight we are going to a get together to honor the school nurse who died suddenly this spring. Her husband is in town for a few days and it will be the "oldies" who were at school when I was. We just had our first sweet corn of the season -- yum, yum, yum!
"Gma, the "green" is harder for me to read so I will come back when I have my glasses. Well, I have my new lenses to the tune of $233.20! This is the first time ever that the clinician, or whatever her title is, finished by saying, "you can stop by the desk and Juan will help you." In other words pay the bill before you leave! I'm sure they get their share of deadbeats but there is another place in town to get glasses plus WM. We've always gone to this place plus our optometrist goes to our church. His wife sings with Bob and subs in the bell choir. I used to use EL mascara and always enjoyed their sample offers. I have to get it in Sioux City and it seems I was never there when I needed it. Jason and his two brothers-in-law found a nude beach in Maui on their first trip there with Amanda's parents. He never mentioned it until years later. Beth has heard some doozy stories working for a credit card department in the bank. We always pay the balance due, and the only trouble I've had a was a stolen number years ago and then the Shutterfly escapade this spring. Hmm, come to think of it both with the same card. Now back to the bedroom!
i need to keep working on the bedroom. Kids will be here Friday night to sleep after Zowie's play. Enjoy the rest of a terrific Thursday!
