Happy ~ Yeah Im glad I got my chores done and I hope I make my weight goal by the 23rd

Susie ~ We had a good time at the mall, I did alot of walking which was good.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My boyfriend woke me up at mid-night and I havent been able to fall back asleep yet but I was planning on getting up at 5 am anyway so I guess it doesnt matter if I dont go back to sleep or not before then. Today I'm gonna go for my morning walk at 7 am and then at noon I'll do my 2 mile walk and then at 6 or 6:30 pm I'll do my 2 mile walk again. I'm gonna dry my clothes again this morning before I take them out of the dryer and fold them before I have my boyfriend bring my clothes up from the laundry room downstairs and thats all I'll do today.
Just a brief note. I'm not going to Paragould. I'd love to see my cousin but I don't feel like the drive. I told her yesterday.
Wow that was a storm! Glad you are okay.
My other post posted by itself so at least I didn't lose it. My neighbor want to go for breakfast so I'll need to close. We are expecting rain today and I would like to get my list from Walmart before that hits,.
Hello to the rest.
Morning all,
Yesterday was a non-day for me. My body did not want to get out of bed - so I didn't - and then later when I did get up, I mucked around in my pyjamas until nearly lunchtime and read a book. The DS1 rang and I chatted to him for a while. Then I got showered and dressed and did very little until I realised that there was football on TV at 5.30 and I still needed to mow the lawns and that the weather forecast said there was rain coming. Needless to say, the weather forecast is again wrong. And today which according to the forecast has a 90% chance of rain has clear blue skies and sunshine. Go figure. Next life I am coming back as a forecaster of weather.
The garden is growing well. It is amazing that some plants seem to grow much faster than others of the same species. Guess they will all get a real move on soon as the warmer days and cool nights give way to a bit more warmth. I keep telling myself that they have only been there for 4 or so weeks and although I am already harvesting the lettuce the other stuff takes much more time. The onions for example take about 26 weeks to mature.
My roses which I pruned down to sticks have come away again and we should be enjoying the colour and perfume shortly. I only ever buy perfumed bushes these days - what is a rose without a perfume after all.
Now that the vege garden is doing okay, I will turn my attention to the sides and front of house shortly. There is work to do out the back - extending the rose garden for example, and moving the block edging back up against the fence and sorting out some drainage, but it will come with time. I want to get into the azalea patch this week and get some more permanent plants into the ground (other than the seemingly permanent weeds).
Terra - you will be very tired if you don't go back to sleep before you get up at 5am. With all that walking planned you will sleep well the next night.
Ceejay - Sad that you will not see your cousin. Isn't it possible for them to come and see you occasionally?
Laura - my lawn wasn't anywhere near as bad as yours by the sound of it. I zipped around it in about 20 minutes. Funnily enough I quite enjoyed it after all my procrastination about doing it
Happy - that was some storm you hard. Tell DH that even if the storm had blown the house away, the basement would still remain and it would be filled with water - and not fresh for long. He wouldn't like that at all I don't think. As you say - Men.
I looked up my address on Google to see what it looked like from space. Yes it does look a lot different, I suspect the version of Google Earth I was looking at was several years old. There was no fence at the front and no gate. DS2's vehicle as parked in the carport when I went down to street view and it looked a lot newer than it does now. There is now more garden (and at the moment more mounds of earth and weeds) than there was then.
Yes we did spend a lot of time in that mall in Chicago trying to explain that I wanted a voltage reducer that had American fittings at the wall and Australian fittings at the plug. Poor guy could not understand what I was talking about. The joys of travel.
Susie - congratulations on the lbs lost. That is a job well done. And also congratulations on refusing the cake and sweets. It isn't easy, but it all helps. The team challenge sounds good for you and the workplace. I hope you have several men on your team. They always lose faster - at least at first - then your team results look just great.
I'm glad they have changed the dates around for you. Men never stop to think of the details of whatever they think needs to be done now.
I like to get my hands in the good earth. It centres me and I realise that every out there is about bigger things than me. I guess I am just a greenie at heart.
Hope Michelle made it okay to her destination and is enjoying herself.
Annie - must be down of the floor with the kids.
So time to finish the coffee, get dressed and get on with the day. I have a timetable for the next week where I want to clear another patch of the front garden of weeds, put the weed mat down and bring in some more soil. That should give me plenty to keep me occupied for the next 5 days or so. I'll try to remember to take some photos as I go. There's plenty of previous ones around I think.
It's quiet in here today.
I've really enjoyed my time today. My sinus infection is almost gone.
And unfortunately it's back to work tomorrow.
I didn't quiet make it to 10 pounds during these three months but I'll take the 7 pounds lost. Starting another 3 months session starting today.
Also got back to exercising yesterday by doing a Pilates DVD and today I rode the bike for 20.
Haven't done to much toward house cleaning this week. Just have felt like it.
I did disconnect the cable boxes so they are ready to go back.
Shad
So sad to hear that you hurt you back. Evidently they think I must go to them since I'm single. What were you doing when you hurt your back?
Susie
Congrats on those lbs lost.
The weekend flew by quickly. It was busy but we (DH & I) managed to get pedicures yesterday late afternoon, went to dinner at Cracker Barrell and then we stopped at my brother's house to see him, his partner and my nephews. They always make me feel so great and relaxed.
I got a 2 hr nap in today and then I worked for about 4 hours.
Terra: I hope you did get some sleep in that day your boyfriend woke you up and you couldn't get back to sleep..I would have been miserable staying up so long.
Shad: I hope your back is doing ok now.
Ceejay: Good for you for losing the 7 pounds and for setting up another 3 month goal. You can do it!
I'm heading to bed....see you all tomorrow.
Morning all.
Susie - Congrats on a great loss last week! I bet the contest at work will be a big motivator. Sounds like a nice weekend...except for the work.
Ceejay - Whoohoo - nice loss!! It'll be nice to save some money by giving up cable. We were without it all weekend practically & once it came back up, all I did was flip channels. All those channels & yet sometimes nothing worth watching is on!
Shad - How awful you hurt your back! Hope the drugs helped and the pain has eased a bit by now.
Terra - I hope you caught up on your sleep!!
Happy - So sorry you had such a bad storm. Good thing you had the generator.
Chelle - so far from your fb posts, your trip sounds great. Hope it stays that way!
Annie - Good luck on your first day on the new job!
More later.
*I'm back. Morning all.
My weekend was alright.* Friday our parkway ash tree, destroyed by emerald ash borers, was removed. We’re pretty sad about that.* We still get some shade on the house from the trees on the parkway across the street from us, but we still lose a good amount of shade.* Looking on the bright side, we have a different variety of plantings we can do in front of the house now that it’s not as shady.*
Following that, was a severe storm that left a lot of debris in our area – tree limbs, large and small all over the place.* Our cable, phone, and internet were out from late Friday afternoon to late Sunday afternoon.* We still had our cell phones to use for phone & internet, and we made do with watching TV shows we’d previously DVR’d.* I still think we should call and tell them we want a credit for those two days without service.
Friday night we watched the movie “Enough Said” on dvd with James Gandolfini & Julia Louis-Dreyfuss.* It was a good movie, but I think smaller doses of Julia L-D are best for me. I remember liking her on "Seinfeld".
Saturday morning I got up and did my squat challenge.* I thought I was doing really well on time, but at*7:37 am, I belatedly remembered that the Jazzercise class time changed from*8:15*to*7:55!* (Once school is in session, we have to get out of the gym earlier.)* So I ended up being 10 minutes late for class.* Class included the very grueling across-the-gym squat & lunge routine.* I skipped my squat challenge yesterday, and my quads are still a bit sore*today!* Good thing*today was scheduled to be a rest day for the challenge – I will swap days so that yesterday can be the rest day.*
After class, I came home and decided to postpone my shower to tackle the weeds along the side of the house.* I filled up exactly two yard waste containers, and they’re stuffed tight!* In spite of the stiff back I got after all that bending,* I’m sooo glad that’s done!* I just hope the neighborhood skunks don’t realize the coast is now clear again and decide to reroute themselves that way! Knock on wood, the skunks don’t seem quite as bad the past couple months.*
Later in the afternoon, my friend D and her sister came over to the house.* We hung out a bit & talked, I took doggy for a walk, and then we went out to eat at Cooper’s Hawk.* They’re a winery/restaurant chain and it was nice to be able to have small samples of their wines before committing to a full glass or bottle. I enjoyed the company and the meal, but I ate entirely too much (and the wine samples & half bottle of wine with dinner didn’t help.)
My stomach didn’t appreciate my overindulgence and yesterday I started off with some alka seltzer, and I popped Tums throughout the day.* I eventually felt better.* I don’t want to feel like that again!
Yesterday was generally a lazy day.* I did a load of laundry, took a dog walk, and read some of my book, and of course, the newspaper.* We didn’t know how long our cable TV outage would last, so we picked up some dvd’s from the library.* Bf mowed the lawn and of course it wasn’t just mowing – he also used the weed whacker,* the edger, and the leaf blower.* * Just how I wanted to spend a Sunday afternoon/evening – listening to all that noise.* I just wish he’d remembered to use the air compressor to fill the tires on my bike, but no luck there.
I set up a reminder in my phone so he can do it*today*after work.* Or I’ll do it the old-fashioned way with the hand pump.
I managed to do 15 pushups this morning.* It’s always interesting how one day it can seem so difficult and another it’s much more doable.
Steps are at 2,711 so far*today.* It’s a lovely day so I’ll try to get out for a brisk walk at lunchtime.**Tonight I’ll do my squat challenge and then look for a BE/MR workout just for core/upper body.*
That’s it for me.* Everyone have a great day!
Shad ~ Yes I slept good Saturday night after all the walking I did at the mall Friday.
Susie ~ Yeah I was able to go back to sleep
Laura ~ Yes I'm caught up on my sleep
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I woke up at 3 A.M. this morning but I went back to sleep at 6:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. and now its 10 AM and I'm gonna stay up for the rest of the day. So far today I havent done anything I ate breakfast when I woke up at 3 A.M. and now I'm eating a early lunch at almost 11 A.M. I'm gonna try do my 2 mile walk at noon and then if I'm able to do my noon walk I'll do it again at 7 pm tonight. I havent been working out for a week now cause the bottom of my right heel is cracked opened so its really hurts to walk on so I've been doing the least amount of walking I can. I cant wait until it heals and after it heels I'm gonna do whatever I have to so they dont crack open again. Mom and I are also going to walmart for our weekly shopping trip. We dont have much to get so I wont be walking that much which is good until my heel heals.

It's been a busy day back to work. And that's okay the day is flying by. The power shut off list came out today and I have been busy for about an hour. I have been dealing with this after 5 p.m. Before 5, my boss called me to go downstairs and unlock the gate for the fire dept. They had borrowed some equipment and brought it back. After I did that the light office called and told me that T. was bringing the shut off list and could I meet him at the front gate I have 5885 steps accumulated today which is a mile. Think I will do Yoga tonight.
Will probably get together with a friend in Jonesboro this week end. Yes I'm driving again.
Called and wished my aunt,not negative Nancy,to wish her a happy birthday. She's 90 today. 2 of her daughters were there. They had a small birthday party for her which I think was great.
A high school friend messaged me via FB to ask if I were going to our college reunion in October. I am. Can't wait to see some old friends my own age for once.

Terra
Hope your foot gets better. I know that has to be sore and to hurt when you walk.

Annie
How did day one at your new job go?

More later it's getting close to going home time.

Morning all,

Got a lot of shopping, cleaning, phone call, chores done yesterday. About to jump in the shower and get ready for my morning shift at the shop. Then I have a dentist appointment I forgot about this afternoon. We are supposed to get more flooding rains tonight into tomorrow. We are so inundated with water this is a terrible thing. Might as well build a pool in the basement...

Terra - I'm sorry to hear about your foot. Is there anything you can do for it or just let it heal on it's own?

Shad - hope you are feeling a bit better today. How did you hurt your back?

Annie - how was the first day on the new job?

Laura - you are a real POWERHOUSE on the exercise! Good going! Sorry about the loss of your tree but as you say - makes room for new plantings. Always sad to lose a big tree tho. I heard about those storms you got - an actress got killed when a tree fell on her as they were trying to avoid the storm - how sad.

Susie - sounds like you are trying to get a bit of balance between work and home. Keep at it

Michelle - I hope you are having a good time on your trip.

Gotta run, late as usual Have a good one.

Morning all.*

Happy – Oh no, more rain!* Horrible.* Do you have to move more stuff out of the basement?* You sounded busy yesterday, and I guess you’ll be busy*today, so you’re right back in the swing of things now.* * What did you pick up at the farmers market?* I feel guilty I haven’t gone to our local farmers market even once all season.* Just not something I’m up for on a Sunday morning.* I think I’ll confirm the days/locations of the downtown farmers markets and get to one this week.* I’d sure like some corn on the cob!* Is your cold gone now?* Re the bad storm on Friday – yeh, the actress was riding on a bike path with two others trying to get to shelter when a tree fell on her.* Very sad - she apparently was a popular local actress and leaves behind a husband and I think a son.*

Ceejay – Love those workdays that go by quickly!* I think that’s part of my struggle with eating lately – I hit a lull at work and was doing a lot of boredom eating.* The October reunion should be fun.*

Terra – Glad you caught up on your sleep – it’s important.* Ouch re your heel!* I hope it heals quickly.* My bf has had some pain in his heel for a month or two, but it was really hurting him after doing a lot of standing at a car show he went to on Saturday, and then it didn’t help that he was throwing around the football with a neighbor later that same night.* He might have to go to a podiatrist to get it checked out.*

Hi Shad – Hope your back is feeling better by now!

Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies! * Hope you’re all having a great week.

@@@

Nothing much to report.*

Bf filled my bike tires yesterday after I got home from work.* Honestly, I don’t think that big air compressor is worth all the trouble.* I used to love that little air compressor we had, but that conked out on us (which is how we ended up with the big air compressor).* I almost think I’d rather just use the hand pump…

I went out for a walk at lunch yesterday, but just for 20-25 minutes.* I ended up with 8200 steps for the day.* I did my squat challenge last night and about 15 pushups total this morning.* I’ll have to try to get some of my challenge done during the day today*since I’m going to the movies with the girls*tonight.*

We’re seeing “Guardians of the Galaxy”.* It’s supposed to be a good movie.* Hope there aren’t too many inside space/sci-fi jokes in it – I don’t see many of those movies, so I’m pretty clueless.*

That’s about it for me.* TTFN.
