Cherry Cow 07-23-2003 11:25 PM

Bagzie, is it too late for pictures? I'd like some!

Cowpernia, I think you should keep the dog because it chose you. That's why I have two dogs and a cat. And a turtle.

Painty, I WISH I could lose 1.8 pounds a week. Also congrats on the DS who will be a useful human! I'm glad you and XH were able to work out the sports event thing. I couldn't stand to be told I had to miss one.

Lohani, I like the Method Pilates, which is more of a Pilates/ ballet blend. Also quite cheap at Target.

Wabby, you are a nice person. I'm glad. How did your icky medical thing go? I don't even want to imagine what it was, but I'm sure it's something I wouldn't want done.

Sugar P- put Dh to work! HahahahHahahHahaha!!!

I miss Kiwi. Hi Muffie, if you're lurking!

So, I'm using this diet software called Diet Organizer. I log everything I eat and all my exercise. It's supposed to guide me to lose about 1.5 pounds a week. This is week 3. I have lost and regained 1 pound.

BUT- I have exercised 156 times this year, and yesterday, I jogged 15 minutes in a row!

Cowpernia 07-24-2003 01:39 AM

Cherrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy, Wabby The Good does not have an icky anything. This is ELECTIVE surgery. She is happy about it.

What is this about everybody thinking I should keep a dog who chose me? I have closing costs to pay on a house any day now and can't afford a dog. An UNSPAYED dog with a huge capacity for food who would happily tear down the door to get to me. Thank you very much.

I don't remember Sparky but I'm glad at least Bagz seems to comprehend.

PainterWoman 07-24-2003 02:38 AM

Cowpernia-- Do what YOU want about the pup. You have a son who can bark, whine, make a mess and eat you out of house and home-- you don't need two carnivorous beasties! (Although they are very loyal.

The biggest obstacle to losing as fast as I want is stamina, and eating whatever isn't moving very fast after midnight. Mmmm. You'd think I could log off and go to bed... it is SOOOOOOO difficult. Do you think a bad bovine bull put a spell on me?

MOOOO

DD is driving with her worldly possession from DC to Boston beginning Friday. When/how did she get so competent and independent. My family hasn't ever had an MBA in it before, but it looks like it's going to.

After a half century on the planet, I'm treating myself to my first manicure tomorrow... and a haircut... (nothing drastically different, yet... maybe when I can wear those Venezia jeans.) I want FB massage after next 10#... and new "business suit" after that..... gotta keep pushing those weights....

And journaling about whatever angsts there are, so that I don't try to drown them in Hershey's or cheddar cheese.

PainterWoman 07-24-2003 11:45 PM

Missed Y'all.

No posts since 1:30 am... and it's almost bedtime. Miss y'all.
Hope you had a great day even if this site was down this morning.:)

Lohani 07-25-2003 03:47 AM

shat's wromg?????

I'VE POSTED AND IT ISN'T HERE.

Wabby 07-25-2003 12:15 PM

Lohani, find your post???

Cowpernia, you haven't been paying attention. The elective surgery is on Aug. 14th. Yesterday was a nasty procedure that everyone is supposed to have at 50, but since I have a history of c*l*n cancer in my family, my Dr. decided I needed to have early. The good news is that I am healthy as a horse (cow). The bad news is that after 1 1/2 days of no food, I didn't lose any weight. And wouldn't you know it, the Gastro Dr. turned out to be young and attractive. :o For some reason it wouldn't have been as bad if he would have been old and grandfatherly, like Marcus Welby.

Cowpernia, you really don't need the dog. They are loveable, but require constant attention. Just like this weekend we are going camping, and DD is out of town, so we have two alternatives - take dogs with us (impossible) or leave dogs in their kennel for the weekend, with the neighbor checking on them and suffer much guilt because my babies won't know why I've left them all aloooonnnnneeee.

Cherry, I don't think I've ever jogged 15 minutes in a row at any time in my entire life. You are my exercise idol. That is my #1 goal at this point - to learn to actually like to exercise. Is there hope at my advanced age?

Cherry Cow 07-25-2003 01:18 PM

Wabby, I was afraid that was the kind of procedure you had...

How to love exercise? I don't know.... I guess find one you like (or tolerate) and keep doing that one. I'm lucky that I like workout tapes.

Lohani 07-25-2003 01:46 PM

Hi, Cherry and Wabby

Cherry, I have had times in my life that there have been excercize tapes that I've liked, too. Just not in recent memory.

Wabby, are you sure colon cancer is worse than having a young kid stick a hose up your butt? [why are you having a kid stick ANYTHING up your butt?]

:smug: :smug: :smug:

DD is typing for me [I say hi] due to recurring arm injury which is aggravated by typing and other such computer use. She seems to like the smiles a lot [they're colorful. AIM doesn't have such colorful smilies unless you want to pay for them:( ...]

I'm feeling bad for your dog already. Why can't your son or your fil watch the dog? If you want to run it over here, we'll watch it [but our dog, pixie, will probably attack it...mom is the typist-****-- i thought I'd inform all of you of that]

This accusation is being levied at me because I know if there are any misspelled words, that girl in fl will get all nasty and take it out on that poor puppy. [but still...that "girl in fl" isn't up here saying "QUESTION MARK!!! QUESTION MARK!!!" and peaches likes me better than mom:smug: ]

I have to go watch the boys in the pool. The brat and I will be back later. L. [and me(mommie wouldn't let me put my name. i like my name.)]

PainterWoman 07-25-2003 02:27 PM

Wabby-- glad you are healthy and that no one will take a professionall interest in your derriere for another couple of years! I had an MD from India... and he kept calling me dearie and sweetheart... but they had great drugs and were done before I even felt a draft.

I am loving working with weights... It helps that DH bought some for home... but I can feel myself geting stronger.. not just physically but spiritually, emotionally and just generally.

I am also loving the fact that I can SEE results... So I guess what makes the biggest difference to me is some sort of activity that gives quick feedback... (Probably has something to do with why I like to weigh so often).

But the other reason to exercise or participate in re-creation is to have fun.... What is FUN? In summer, DH and I replace tge DR table with a ping pong table... Sweatin in the A/C!

L: sorry your arms hurt... I like the co-created entry. Say high to loving daughter.

Wabby 07-25-2003 03:28 PM

Hey Lushkin! nice to see you helping out your ma. :)

I'm going camping w/ DH, DS & his GF. It will be hot, hot, hot and sunny. The next door neighbors will check on the doggies, Lohani, so don't worry. Actually, he'll probably take them out for a run every day because he actually loves my doggies. We're meeting some friends over there (at the lake). See yous monday.

When does Kiwi get back?

Cowpernia 07-25-2003 05:33 PM

The dog is gone. I am relieved. I do not feel guilt. It was an adorable dog and I hope it finds a home where adorable dogs are welcome. Here they are not.

I am confused by Lohani and MiniLohani's post. Was I being insulted or complimented?

Sorry. Wabby. I just have a full brain. By my age so will you.

Painty, that is SO GOOD to hear. Results!!! YAY

1) He's back tomorrow.

2) The carpet is down and it looks wonderful. I noticed the sticker on the heater/cooler unit had it in the least economical end of the spectrum. Don't like that.

3) Offered to let him look at the house since houses are his thing. Saint Peaches.

Bagzz 07-25-2003 06:18 PM

i have a big snarkin skankin cold and i am blaming that army boy who sat behind me on the plane sneezing his arse off---------i KNEW that i was the recipient of his big blowout nasty bellow of a sneeze and since i need to blame others ALWAYS,i pick him------------------your new place sounds divine peachgall, won;t it be lovley and peaceful to move in with all the junk you and kiwi threw out---i have to sneeeeeeeeeeeeeze----blah

Lohani 07-25-2003 06:40 PM

We're back....

I was insulting you. [i was not...mommie is just a meanie-butt. can't beat that huh?]

Your house sounds beautiful. Are you really letting the git undermine your joy by pointing out short falls in the design? I don't think he is going to give you a positive report even though I'm sure it is as perfect as any newly built house.

Bagzie, I'm so sorry you're sick. [me too! i'm sorrier] We flew in the fall and everyone was sick for weeks.

Painty, DD is not that loving [ i am too don't listen to her] I'm being subjected to a constant stream of criticism regarding my dictation [you'd do it too if your dictator person only said two words at a time. she told me to put in what a brat but i'm not doing it in her part of the typing.]

I'm glad you're seeing results. It's inspiring. Are you still journaling? They say that's the key to long term success.

Have a fun weekend, Wabby. Bye everybody else. L. [and lushkin...i can't pronounce the other one.] She's just denying her Lohani roots. [pa-sha]

Cowpernia 07-25-2003 06:49 PM

1) Bagz you have army guys??? Was it one of OURS??? If you, you should have given him a wooly scarf and chicken soup. We aren't used to that nordic weather.

2) GIT is a salesman. He does not say negative things about products. It's all just wonderful.

Bagzz 07-25-2003 06:51 PM

adorable

your daughter is adorable Loharse, some things happen despite heredity----------------is this true about airplanes-they make people sick----should i have been wearing a SARS mask?????=====once and for all tell me========================what the blazes is a GIT??????????????????????????????????????????????

SugP 07-26-2003 11:56 AM

"Thank you for logging in, SugP"

That's the nicest thing anybody's said to me all day!;)

Picked up ds10 from camp today and sent him right to the shower. Seems he did change his underwear and socks, but it didn't smell that way. He says food was good, tent-mate said it was rotten. I say food is food, especially when you're only 10.

PainterWoman 07-26-2003 04:44 PM

Bagzz--Airplanes don't make you sick unless they are doing thundercloud aerobatics. Germs that don't have anyplace to go but inside YOU make you sick. Hope you have loads of echinacea and people to give you TLC. Summer colds suck.

Low heinie and Lushkin... hang in there. The good news about any architecture is that if there are mistakes you can cover it with vines (or wall paper). Doctors have to BURY their mistakes.

Thanks for the congrats. DH keeps telling me not to spaz out if I'm not losing fast enough... which is probably reasonable. But somehow I am really and truly ready to shed my blubber coat.. Think Rita Haworth removing a fur and having all those sparkles and curves underneath... :)
I'm still journaling on this site... and responding to and reading others. Will be teaching a revised artist's way type class in early August, so I'm all inspired to be creative. I think that when I suppress my unique self and creativity is when I think I'm hungriest.... Why have chocolate if you can have carmium red and cerulean blue?!! :D

Lohani 07-26-2003 06:06 PM

hhhhhhhrrrrrruuuuummmmfffff

It is sad that in my crippled [she doesn't know ANYTHING about crippled] state, I have to be confronted with such hostility from the :s:new girl:s:. What makes it really sad is that I am her only true defense against Peaches during dark and menopausal times. I will have to let the :s:new girl:s: fend for herself now that she has shown her true nature.

Airplanes do make you sick because they have closed ventilation systems. Germs that would normally drift off into oblivion have time to fester and grow.

Hi, Sugar! :D [<-----this smilies on AIM!!! I know this one!!!] I'm glad your boy is home and safe. It is good that he is not too picky about mass produced food. It is good preparation for marriage.

I don't really wanna say anything else. I just wanted to remark upon the audacity of the :s:new girl:s:. [that and i was bugging her] buh-bye, L [and lushkins

Cowpernia 07-26-2003 06:15 PM

I just want to comment that I am really enjoying Lushkin's editorial comments on Low Heinie's (YAY FOR NEW GIRL ON THAT ONE) carryings on.

DS is home.

If Lushkin knows about AIM smileys, why isn't L-H on my AIM list??? HUH????

Bagzz 07-26-2003 06:31 PM

what are you TALKING about????

WHAT THE **** ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LUSHBAT?????[sorry little lushkin]----------what did painty say that got yer goat????????? I MUST BE IN A EPINEDRINEPHELIHILIPRINE DAZE [or whatever they put in that cold medicine] everyone has gone to the uptown buskers festival or golfing----------------i have the place to myself and i am lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvving it----------gotta go and loooooooooooooooooove it.bye tanks

Bagzz 07-26-2003 06:32 PM

WELCOME HOME ALL YOU SONS OF COWS~!!!!!!!

Lohani 07-26-2003 08:15 PM

Bagz-hag; I am offended by the use of foul language in front of my daughter. I am astounded that Painty and Peaches got away with using the "H" word. As you all probably know, that is now one of the worst, crudest words that ever graced the face of the planet. [I'm shocked] To call me by that name is an offense [indubitably] that I feel needs to be reported to the 3FC's. [who are the 3FC's?]

I demand full apologies. I would also like to say that making fun of my name would not be so funny to all of you if my name were not of Pakastani origin. I noticed that the name of my district and the physical characteristics of my people have also been derided on this forum. Is this kind of intolerance allowed? [no witty remarks prepared for this moment...i am sorry to my public]

[mom made me take her side...sorry all...i think its funny...] bye L [and lushkin ]

Bagzz 07-26-2003 08:44 PM

lushhhhhhhhkin!!!!!

you no doubt have your mother's sense of humour{canadian spelling.peachbag}----you may be a bit more refined though i must say-----------since when is heine a bad word??????????? i think it's better than some you may be called once you can type all by yourself-------------------just want you to know lushkin, your mommie is hiding behind you at this time and we are taking all she says with a giant salt lick--------------------------and also lushkin A SHORT WARNING-------------======================== STAY OUT OF THE ARCHIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PainterWoman 07-26-2003 09:52 PM

Would you prefer droopy derriere?

Hey, "L", No offense intended. :^: :^:
However, every group needs someone to stir the pot not and then, and if you want to be the self-appointed stirrer, go right ahead.
I usually prefer to let the sediment settle to the um... can I say "bottom"? any way, settle to the bottom, so you have something that's clear at the top.:joker:

Thanks for calling me (I assume) "new girl"... It's been a long time since anyone called me "girl"...

I agree that food tolerance is a good preparation for marriage.
Ciao.
:moo:

Bagzz 07-27-2003 08:21 AM

git

someone PLEASE tell me what a GIT is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lohani 07-27-2003 10:13 AM

Another foul word! Painty are you obsessed????

I am typing myself today. I've spent several days in one of those wrist support dojiggers. It seems to be helping. I'm sure if I went to the DR he would tell me why supporting my wrist helps my shoulder pain. I've reconfigured my whole computer set-up to accomodate my old joints and tendons. We'll see.

Git is one of those words that just means what it is. Maybe it means "jerk" but there is also an arrogant and ridiculous connotation to it. Like someone who thinks and acts like he's cool, but isn't. Someone who thinks and acts like he's smart, but isn't. Someone who thinks and acts like he is worthy of Peaches...but misses it by a mile.

I was just funnin' with you Painty. I know you didn't know that the H word is a bad word....especially when expressed as "low"
or saggy.

Now I'm going to go have a productive day. I lumped around all day yesterday, today I'm going to do something. bye

Cowpernia 07-27-2003 01:14 PM

bagzie, sweetipoo, the first time I saw GIT was here. I think LushRump made it up.

Bagzz 07-27-2003 01:38 PM

hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!i have consulted the "dictionary of slang" and GIT was actually there!!!!here we go---- "git "-- Noun.-- An idiot or contemptible person. does this fit-------???????????????----------only the peachbat can answer this correctly!!!!

Lohani 07-27-2003 04:35 PM

Main Entry: git
Pronunciation: 'git
Function: noun
Etymology: variant of get, term of abuse,
Date: 1943
British : a foolish or worthless person

Where I come from, people only say "git" In England they say, "get"........ HOWEVER...I KNOW all you old hags know the lyric:
I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid get

Peaches favorite Beatle wrote that. Was Ringo anybody's favorite Beatle? I'm going to see him on Saturday. Painty, who was your favorite Beatle....mine was George. Lots of people here liked Paul.

Cowpernia 07-27-2003 05:29 PM

egad. a singing cow.

Bagzz 07-27-2003 05:49 PM

she's suckin up to painty now cause she took her estrogen

Lush 07-27-2003 06:19 PM

you're being a little mean to me and hurting my feelings

Bagzz 07-27-2003 09:18 PM

i apologize,lushious---------------i forgot to take MY estrogen----i think i will go and eat a pound of tofu and then i will see how nice i can be

PainterWoman 07-27-2003 09:57 PM

Bravo to the Slang Dictionary

Thanks Bagzz for finding "git"... Google's dictionary was no help.

As a teen, I swooned to Paul, like everyone else... later I thought John had more brains... even tho' he did all that strange stuff with Yoko. Ringo just didn't seem "cute" enough... But my first husband WAS a drummer. Does that count?:dancer:

Glad you are back to your delightful self, Lush.

Here are more foul words::love:
rooster, hen, guinea hen, pea cock, turkey.

Had a good food day. Skipped exercise yesterday because I did something strange to my arm Friday when I was pulling weeds. Gotta go exercise now, even though it's late. Maybe a hot soak in the tub and straight to bed. Had a nice time in Borders sketching the magazine readers when then weren't looking.

I hope the pants-o-meters and scales are benevolent to all in the a.m.

Cowpernia 07-27-2003 10:33 PM

I miss Kiwi. She is sooooo sane.

Wabby 07-28-2003 01:02 PM

I'm back from the lake. All roasted and toasted. I'm sure I'll be sorry some day when my skin shrivels up like an old prune, but that sun sure feels great to us northerners.

Low-heiney!!!! I love it! Sorry L, but you gotta admit, it's pretty cute.

Kiwi is the sane one, and I do miss her, but I love the rest of you nutz, too.

Sugar, glad to hear the little camper made it home safe and sound.

I'll have to reply to my own post, I guess. 3 hours later and no new posts. I swooned over Paul. I thought John was ok until he started hanging out with that Yoko chick.

Cowlicious, when is your mooooove in day?

Bagzz 07-28-2003 05:15 PM

hi wabby------------how is your garden looking???? do you need pictures of mine????did you ever get a digi-cam so you can send me pics ??? the pics you sent last year were stunning, but that is so much bother for you!!! i was never a beatle fan,but i liked Davey Jones from the monkeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
