Gayle-I heard that the scales that measure body fat are not accurate at all. On the WW boards, some people with the Tanita say they are very inaccurate. I wouldn't waste money on one. I have always used a regular dr's. scale. The one I have is approximately 20 years old, and well worth the tremendous amount I spent on it. I purchased it at a medical store 20 years ago! I was close to $200.00, I think.
I had heard that too, Shelley. I know I'm "fluffy" But, I didn't think that fluffy! Learned my lesson, taking it back for a refund. I will just stick to my old one for now.
Here's a fun site for everyone! You can go in and create a model of yourself. I'm setting one up with my current weight, then another with my goal weight. Talk about a motivational tool!
Sherry I just wanted to congratulate you on the house. I know that it is a little late but I have been thinking about you alot.
Things are doing ok here, I am just stressed so it is hard to post to everyone. I want you to know that even though I am not post to you all I do think of each of you more than once a day. You ladies are a big part of my life.
Hi ladies, I'm finally back. Thank you for all the concern you showed for me.
Long story, short version....
My youngest, Daniel, decided he wouldn't show up for guard drill this past weekend. BIG MISTAKE! He was considered AWOL and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It took 3 days for me to even find him. He finally showed up at his girlfriend's appartment. Fortunately, the person who received the warrant is my best friend and he called yesterday and said he would hold it until we could try to work things out. As of this morning, they have recalled the warrant and will deal with him on their own.(He'll probably lose a stripe, but hopefully, no jail time)
He has finally seen that he is out of options in his life and has agreed the best thing to do is go active duty and get away from the bad influences around here. BUT, now they are planning to activate every unit in Arkansas....for deployment to Iraq. I don't know if we will be able to get him released and into the regular army before the deployment orders come down. We're not out of the woods here yet! He lost his job(again) and has had to move back home(again). I don't know how well this will work out as he doesn't think he has to live by our rules. OK, so this wasn't very short afterall. Sorry.
I've read all your post about WW and checked out the sites. This looks like a very doable plan. It's the one thing I haven't tried. I have been so stressed the last few days that I have eaten probably 4000 calories a day!
Gayle, I just checked out the photo page. What a beautiful bride you are!!!!
The Tennessee trip is scheduled for the week of July 28. I'm not making final plans yet - motel etc. until I am sure there is nothing wrong with the new additions to our family. I forgot to tell everyone yesterday that these babies have NOT been to any doctor since they were born. Brianna seems to be okay, but Brittiny throws up quite often, and something about her ribs don't seem quite right though she actually weighs a little more than her sister. Lisa can't even take them to the doctor until the paperwork is done. The "mother" (don't get me started on her) has been avoiding the state agency. It was suggested that she stay home so the doctor could call and verify with her, but she was too busy.
Oh, their nicknames today were Possum (Brit) and Sassy (Bri). I guess Brit was playing a good game of possum this morning, and Bri makes sure she gets the last word. And the early birds were up at 5:30 this morning!
We've decided to wait until the paperwork is done, but then it's picture time. It would be too hard to have constant reminders if something went wrong.
Ramona.... I believe what my Grannymom always told me...Your kids never quit giving you heartache. And do we ever really quit raising them. There is no simple answers but I do believe in prayer.
Shelley...I'm loving WW!! Writing everything I eat down is helping me so much. Can you answer the question I posted on the challenge thread?
Gayle..... I love you wedding picture!! I may post mine too!! WTG on the 3 days OP!!!
Sherry... How was work today? Isn't it great working without everyone there? I'm looking forward to us spending the day together tomorrow. I've been looking up "beverages" on the WW sites. Going to fix us something special.
Titan Dee... When are you planning on coming to Nashville? Is the sport bar at Opry Mills the Alabama Grill?
Dee..... I'm sorry you are still so stressed. Is things any better? You are a big part of all our lifes too!! We love ya!
Carol.... I love reading your daily posts. You are such an inspiration to all of us. Is your ankles any better now after losing 30 pounds? Are you planning on starting an excerise program soon?
Vicki..... How is the SB diet going? You have done great the first 2 weeks.
Jennelle... When is your first day of school? I know you are excited about teaching the little ones. Did you get your classroom all set up?
Doni, Jeanne, and Cheryl ....Hope everything is good with you!!
Well.....I guess my break is over. Mowing the grass AGAIN!! I am spoiling my husband!!
Debbie, we were probably writing at the same time. Actually, the place I was thinking of was on the parking lot of Music Valley, but Alabama Grill sounds even better.
Ramona, we could probably write a book about our sons. Some of the things you've sound like Mark but seeing him with the twins is a joy. He even changed a dirty diaper today, and only had to have minor help getting her dressed again.
Well I got 2 days of comp time in and I'm beat! There is so much to do to get a School year ready. Now maybe I can enjoy my last two weeks off before I go back on Aug. 4th. (Unless they call me back in!)
Dee (Titan),
Where in the world are you talking about a sports bar in the parking lot of Music Valley? Wayne & I laughed so hard! He said maybe the last time you were there, you had "one too many" and ended up in the parking lot! (just kidding of course!) I live about 6-7 miles from OpryMills!! BTW: I'll say a prayer for your Son & his wife that things work out for them & those adorable twins!! That is absolutely AWWSOME!!
Ramona,
I'm so sorry that you have to go through so much with your Son.Maybe one day he'll grow up and you won't have to go though all this.I wish I was there to give you a BIG HUG!! Please always feel that you can talk to us about anything. We're always here for you!!! I'll say a prayer for your family.
Gayle,
I loved your wedding picture!!! You look so pretty and I love that gown!!! I did the virtal model and I can't wait to look like the "after!!!!"
Shelley,
You haven't said, But did your Daughter have a good time on her trip? I bet she's talking about it non-stop! Thanks again for putting up with Debbie & I by answering so many questions about WW for us!!
Carol,
Thanks again so much for the motivationals! I do look forward to reading them. Have you started walking yet?
Debbie,
I'm looking forward to coming up tomorrow and relaxing in the water! We have talking to catch up on since our trip! We can also talk about WW all day!!!!!!!!

Vicki,
How is SB going? It seems like you are doing great on it! Did you buy the book & read it first? Will you find out for me how much a days pass is for Ky Kingdom? Wayne and I are thing about going there one weekend soon. Thanks!
Jennelle,
I keep asking where you are!!!!!! Are you fixing your room up? Does everyone there seem to be nice? Think you're going to like it? Let me know all the info!! Miss you!!
Doni, Cheryl,Jeanne,
How are you? Try to post soon!! Are you staying OP? JEANNE....Are you busy teaching HULA dances????
ok........I've got to get some things done before bed.I'll post again tomorrow from Debbie's.
Tomorrow is my 4th day on WW........I love it!!!!!
Sherry, No I didn't have too much to drink, but if you go to the Music Valley mall (last time I was there probably "5 stores" open --- where the Ernest Tubb theater is), there is a neat bar-restaurant. It's sort of behind the motel and the other end from the stores. I've eaten there several times, and even watched NFL games from there , including a Titan out of town game. I know they have barbecues because that's what I usually get. It's between the Willie Nelson museum and the Parkway.
To everyone else, when/if I get there, I will take Sherri over there and get her picture!!! And oh, the invite is still good, especially to Jennelle who isn't that far away.
I am so looking forward to this trip, though will not leave unless little Miss Brittany is in tip top shape! Oh, Debbie, stock yourself with grandbaby pics ---- I am, and we'll probably have to call my son and let you explain that it's Grandma's rights to walk, hug, and anything else in the spoil department. I cannot wait for Christmas when I can give these 2 the loudest and most annoying present available. I could not do it with Kayla and Doug their 1st Christmas in the family because they all lived with me so I didn't get the real grandma life --- spoil 'em and give the loudest thing you can find, because they are going home and it's paybacks for everything your son or daughter did!!!! Love It.
My DH's grandfather was rushed to the hospital 2 days ago. It looks like he won't make it. He's 90 some-odd years old. My husband and older daughter will be going to visit him tonight. Patty doesn't want to go, and neither do I. It seems mean, but I don't want to remember him looking sickly. When I think back on seeing my FIL right before his passing, is all I can remember is what he looked like at that time. Am I wrong to feel this way? His family probably thinks that I am terrible, but I really don't care what they think anyway. Gramp had been in a home in Lehigh Acres, which is about 30 miles away from us. Mike's brother and SIL have been watching over him, since they live right near him. The SIL called last night to say that we needed to come see him now if we want to see him before he dies. Mike called back his brother, and he said that was silly, and to wait until today (she had called at about 8:00 last night.) I think she was trying to make us feel guilty, as usual. Anyway, Mike is very upset, so please keep him in your prayers.
Instead of being completely consumed with always getting more, put your time and energy into getting more use from what you have.
It makes no sense to acquire and accumulate if you don't even put the things you already have to full use.
Some people are blessed in certain ways. Others are blessed in different ways. Yet everyone has something valuable that can be put to better use.
There is enormous treasure throughout your life that is always waiting to be uncovered and put to use.
That is the essence of accomplishment.
True and lasting success comes when you are in the habit of making effective use of the time, the circumstances, the resources which are available to you.
Don't settle for merely getting more, for it will never be enough. Instead, seek to truly live more, to experience and achieve more, to make full use of all the good and valuable things you have. And you'll find that there is always plenty of abundance to go around.
