  • good morning ladies. Well, It's 9am and I just got out of bed! I love Fridays. I'm skipping my workout this morning, but I'm going swimming with the kids, so that's something.

I can't think of anything else to say.....so, I will post again later!

    Lisa
  • Hi everybody!

Seems everyone has been busy the last few days. I havent been here since Thurs nite and Lisa, Newie, and Cyan had short posts on Fri and no posts since then. How is everyone's weekend?? Or how WAS everyone's weekend...it's almost over now. Mine was busy but fun having Kaylen around. She is just the cutest and we loved having her here. I took her home yesterday, and we miss her already. I have to admit she gave me a run for my money tho...I'm too old I think to have a 2 yr old fulltime. She even did my workout with me Thurs nite. I wish I had video'd her...she was adorable doing it.

I didnt attempt yesterday's workout because I was worn out from chasing Kaylen for 3 days and from driving almost 6 hrs again yesterday taking her home and coming back so today I had to do yesterday's and today's both to get caught up. It wasnt too bad. Arms and Thighs.

Cyan, I hope you were able to take that cruise around town this weekend. I know I'd be out showing off that new car!

Newie, glad your sink is unclogged!

Lisa, isnt it great sleeping til 9?? I've been off all but about 3 days the last 3 weeks and I got lazy. Starting tomorrow tho I have to work everyday for the next few weeks and I dread getting up early again. I'm NOT a morning person.

Well folks, better fun. Looking forward to hearing about everyone's weekend.

    Bye for now

    Miki
  • Hey girls. Wow, Miki, chasing a two year old does not sound fun. she sounds adorable though. This weekend has been good. I've done lots of homework and I ushered at the Wichita Music Theatre for the play, "Good News." It was a lot of fun.

    Oh yeah...as of today...I've lost 9and 1/2 pounds!!!

    I love this diet!!

    Well, got to go!

    Lisa
  • Hi, everyone! I had a busy weekend too. Friday was extremely busy at work. There was lots of business--teachers coming in and buying materials for summer school--and paper products to put on the shelves. Saturday I spent running errands--got one of our cars serviced, went to the office for a couple of hours to get caught up on stuff, did grocery shopping, went to church. Sunday was a mixed bag kind of day, but busy. With Father's Day on, we made sure hubby got to start up his new grill and cook some hamburgers. We also gave him lots of space to do what HE wanted for the day--watch his rented video in peace and see his NASCAR race without others wanting the TV. (That worked for me just fine because I developed a PMS migraine headache and had to lie down for a couple of hours.) Late in the afternoon when I was feeling better, I took my older girl (12) shopping. She helped me pick out some clothes for myself, and I helped her pick out inexpensive make-up favors for 5 girls she has invited to our house next Saturday for a party. We also bought her first 2 "real" bras. Up till now she has been wearing sports bras. Then we shopped for stuff we needed in the house. I truly enjoy going shopping with her. It's a cool experience, as it's something my mother and I never did together.

I did NO exercising over the weekend, so I need to make a point of getting my walk in today. One of my legs is stiff (sciatica from my pregnancies), so it will help with that soreness. The weather yesterday was absolutely wonderful--mid 70s and breezy--so I am hoping it will be great walking weather this morning too.

Miki, you are totally dedicated to the exercising--that is great! I don't know how you do it!

Well, it's the start of another busy week. I also missed the posts over the weekend. It'll be great to hear from everyone again. Bye for now.
  • Good Mornong Ladies
The weekend was so so weather wise..it rained on friday and saturday! finally on Sunday, we had a break in the weather. The Grand Prix also took place over the weekend and that was cool.

I exercised on saturday by doing heaving house cleaning and I cycled on Sunday! I also watched what I ate...so keeping on track which is great.

Miki...chasing around children...where do you get the energy!

Lisa ...wow congrats all 91/2 pounds lost! Seems like the atkins diet is working for you. How did you give up the carbs? I love carbs way too much to give up..so let us know how you are doing with the cravings if you are having any.

Hi Newie...seems like you had a nice family weekend...its nice when you bond with your children ...must be real cool

Well, as usual, I am at work...it is after all ...ugh! Monday morning...it is so sunny today...its a pity I have to be indoors.

Okay, Ladies have a great one...I will cycle tonight for exercise!

  • Just to let you all know, I am still alive:-) Just always busy here. Inlaws, sisterinlaw, niece (10months old) and nephew (almost 4yrs old, but totally not all there--seriously considered putting a leash on him when we went out) left this morning. They were here this weekend to celebrate Josiah's birthday a little early. We were supposed to go to the consulate tomorrow to get Joshua's new passport and renew Luke's visa for the states, but he let his expired long ago. Have to go to the north for that can't go south. Confusing I know.

I haven't exercised since Friday BUT been walking around, went to the hot springs/sauna with the inlaws. I will get back in the swing of things tomorrow. I did have someone ask if I lost weight. Nope, I haven't still teetering between 187 and 186 BUT I have lost at least an inch!! My clothes have been fitting better, so I am getting toned.

    Talk to you all later.
    Deana
  • Hi everybody!

Well back to work today after a lots of time off...yuckkk...Had a very busy day at work so the day went by fast which was good. I got up early and did my Ab workout at 6 a.m. Had to be at work at 8. Anyway, hubby was ready to do his when he got home this afternoon at 5:30 so I did it again with him. I'm really working hard but as far as I can tell, my measurements are the same as they were on May 5. Still not giving up..No matter what!! It's got to be doing SOMETHING right??

Cyan, you didnt try to get into the Grand Prix with that new car did you?? Good for you for staying on track with your eating and exercise.

Deana, glad to hear from you again! Girl, you sure stay busy! Never a dull moment around there huh?

Lisa, WOWWWWWWWW!!! 9 1/2 lbs is awesome!! You have got to be on Cloud 9. I'm like Cyan, tho...just cant get to the point Im willing to give up my carbs. Believe it or not, chasing Kaylen was sooo much fun! I actually begged them to let her come. It's her first time to stay somewhere out of town without her mom or dad.

Newie, what fun having a daughter to shop with. Somehow it's not the same shopping for clothes with 2 boys..lol

Debee, where are you? How are things??

I just cant imagine what is up with LadyRider! I'm going to have to go back and see if she mentioned anything in her last post. It's not like her to be gone so long without a word.

When is Reina supposed to be back?? I bet she's having a blast.

Well gotta go...hoping to find time tonite for a bubble bath.

    Miki
  • Hi, everybody! Long day! Body is tired but mind isn't. That's not a good thing for me. Bad news--didn't get my walk in this morning. It's probably why I'm not relaxed mentally. I've been having a lot of trouble with my routine now that it's summer. Also, doing some of my work from home is taking up morning time--that's when I do it. I really miss the walk--haven't done it for three days. I really need to do it tomorrow. I need stable routine!! Speaking of unstable, I had McDonald's Quarter Pounder w/ cheese value meal for dinner tonight--on the way to girl dancing lessons, so I am feeling a bit heavy in the middle. Also, as you can probably tell from my tone here, I'm a bit crabby tonight. I can't remember if I mentioned that I am working on the perimenopause process--it's been happening with me probably for about 3 years now. I have "periods" of time (no pun intended) where I get my period every two or three weeks, and it's very annoying, and I get moody and crabby from the hormone imbalance and wearing overnight pads all the time--I need them--heavy flow. Well, I'm on my third period since May 10, and I'm kind of aggravated about the whole thing. A year ago I had a transvaginal ultrasound to check for fibroids--there were none; I'm a just normal 47-year-old in perimenopause--very aggravated though. Anyway, thanks for listening. I feel better having said it.

It was good to hear from everyone. It sounds like you are all busy with lots of stuff. I hope I'll feel better tomorrow. Later.
  • Good Morning Ladies
Hey Miki...too funny...I dont think my little silver beetle or silver beega as I like to call her...could keep up with formula 1 race cars Good on you for working out so religiously....I know wht you mean though about not seeing results fast enough ...but dont give up...keep going like I have....slowly its starting to show up...and you will feel so much better....since I have started working out regularly, I havent gotten sick, I have more strenght, I have more flexibility and grace in my movements. At one point, I felt so heavy getting in and out of cars and I was heavy footed...and since I have been exercising, I am light footed, and getting in and out of cars feels very graceful. So look for all that to keep improving.

hey Newie...sorry to hear about your pre-menopausal journey! Just keep going with your exercises and your eating plan. You will feel better if your body is working well and strong.

Hey Taiwan...are you back in the swing of things? I hope you got back to your routine...looking forward to hearing your next post telling us how much you have lost.

As for me girls...I am still trying to lose weight...I will way myself at the end of june to see what the bloody scales says. But its been tough losing the weight...I think so far, its been one of the toughest things I am doing. It will be nice to acheive this goal.

Okay Ladies, as usual, i am at work so I best get back to it.

    have a great day

    Cyan
  • hi ladies,

I'm back...busy few weeks...lost our cat and went on search and rescue. He showed up at the Spca yesterday and got him back today. Both Jimmy and Jakes birthdays are next week and mine is on wednesday so I have been very busy buying gifts and party planning...Jimmy is having his party at a mini golf, arcade and Jake's is at home. Jake wanted a G.I. Joe party so I have been busy transforming the garage into a barracks, Jimmy and a few of his 8 year old friends will be drill sergants..of courrse I am the general and Jake as birthday boy is commander-in chief.

Weight wise although I `have been busy running around, staining the deck, painting lawn funiture, gardening and getting ready for the party I have not been formally exercising. My weight is still between 129-131 and has been for months. Wednesday is my goal deadline and I had hoped to be 110-115. Hopefully I can revise my deadline and lose by Sept. 1 an additonal 15 pounds. If I cold lose 5 a month during the summer it would be great.

On a sad note my next door neighbor is doing much worse her body is filled with cancer and now it is eating into her small intestine and she coughs up bile every ten minutes. I am so upset she is a wonderful lady and it looks like she may not last the month. It makes you thankful for all the little things in life and makees you realize what is really important...friends, family, memories.

Hope to be able to post more nexxtx week.
  • Hey, everybody! I walked this morning!! Only 1 1/4 miles, not 1 1/2--short on time--but it felt so good! Immediately the warmth in my legs helped menstrual cramps I have been having feel better, and I noticed my head was clearer all day. I was calm inside today too, not hyperactive, which was how I was Monday. I think I'll sleep well tonight too.

I know what you mean, Cyan, about how different and better exercise makes you feel. I've been walking for close to a year--I even did it when I could in the winter!! I too have not been sick--no cold at all for a year! That has never happened to me before. And I just feel better about my body, even if I don't lose any weight (and I usually don't). I feel strong (work helps there) and light and agile. I have endurance and better self esteem. Exercise helps me with my moods (and I do have those with that perimenopause thing going on) and when I have trouble sleeping. It was the way walking made me feel that helped me decide that HEALTH was my top goal, rather than a number, though the number would be nice too. And I do also agree that it can take a long time for results to show with exercise. It took months for my pants to feel a little looser, but it finally happened. A year ago, I wore an 18 pants; now a 16 does just fine for me.

So keep it up with the exercise, Miki!! The results you can see will come in time, and in the meantime you are getting an immediate result--HEALTH!!

Well, time for me to go--talk to you all later. Bye!
  • Hi all....

Newie, I feel for you having so much trouble. I had problems with my periods from the very beginning. They were horrible from 7th grade up until my hysterectomy at age 30. I wouldnt trade that surgery for a million bucks! I was hospitalized more than once during my teen years and had 2 DNC's before I was 18 because of my problems. I once went for 6 weeks without stopping. Needless to say, I was terribly anemic by that time. used to say I would go for 3 weeks and have one off instead of the other way around. )

Cyan, I'm definitely not going to give up. You're my inspiration to keep going with this exercise. I do feel better whether I look better or not.

Debee, you're one creative mom! Your kids are lucky. Sounds like a very busy week you have planned. Is your birthday the 25th? or Wed as in tomorrow? Sorry to hear your neighbor is worse rather than better. That's really sad.

Well, I didnt get to have my bubble bath last nite so I was smart today. I came home and did that FIRST! Now I've got the rest of the nite to relax..yessss

    Nite everybody...

    MIKI
  • Well, can't write much right now as I have school with Joshua in 15min and I haven't prepared much. I love homeschooling him and hope we can keep it up during elementary on up.

Did 16min on the stepper yesterday and then about 8min of arms and a few butt exercises. Today, if Josiah is awake, I will go to the school and walk and then play ball. I had lots of fun last week playing (and no one thought I could really make some baskets). I really need to get my eating under control. Of course, TTOTM is coming soon so I mainly need to get my sweets under control. Didn't drink any water yesterday, not good but will today.

I will try to write more, promise, just busy. And today is Josiah's first birthday. Last night rushed him to the pediatrician (our normal one is out of town--boohoo!!!). He woke up yesterday with some bug bites of somekind, his eye was swollen and his hands and bites on his legs (he swells anytime he gets bitten by anything). Well, a friend brought balloons for him last night and suggested taking him to the dr. I was like, well I dunno, then I saw his knee---oh my twice the normal size, so we were off. DH and the kids were at Japanese class so I had to be brave and go to the hospital (dr's offices are there) by myself. Turns out he has had an allergic reaction to whatever bit him. Dr gave benadryl and sent us home. So josiah is probably going to sleep his birthday away!!! Yup! never a dull moment at our house.
  • good morning ladies
hey Debee...good to hear from you...keeping active is better than not...so keep doing your thing even if its not "formal" exercising. I am truly sorry to hear about your neighbor...so sad, I hope she is surrounded my loving family and friends. I will say a prayer for her.

Hey Miki...you will feel better way faster than the looking part in terms of pounds coming off...but the pounds will follow....I have learned that the hard way...slowly but surely, I am losing the friggin stubborn weight. so keep at it. And Miki....you are a babe...at any weight...so repeat after me...I am one hot woman! hear me roar!

Hey Taiwan....wish Josiah a happy first birthday! I hope the little guy is feeling better from that allergic reaction he had. Stay motivated and keep exercising..your body will thank you for it

Hey Newie...isnt it cool how much stronger you feel just from simple walking? I too have noticed great improvements like that...sometimes you take health for granted and before you know it...everything is hard..so I plan on keeping this ole body of mine in the best shape as possible.

Ok ladies, as usual, I am at work, so I best get back to it

    Cyan

Have a great op day everyone
  • Just a note to say hi again. We had a great little party time. Anyone who wants a pix give me your e-mail and I will send you pix.

I did walk at a good pace for 20min today. I was going to play ball, but no one was watching Josiah, so back to being a mom. Did have a little cake though. My eating is what is killing me. Funny, even my fosterteens mentioned tonight that I look thinner. Not losing weight but an inch is fine with me:-)

    Gotta go girls.
