Happy Valentines Day to everyone.

We were supposed to go out and run some errands and stop at a lunch diner that has delicious burgers I have been craving. But DH's snowblower is out for delivery so we are waiting on that. It's coming from a town 2 hours away, no idea when it will show up. The diner is only open until 2 so I guess I will just have to wait and suffer. DH suggested we go out yesterday but since it was a no meat Ash Wednesday, we just went for a scenic drive. Can't go tomorrow because it's a no meat Friday :( Ok, so it won't kill me to wait a fews days more for a cheeseburger, will it? :^: It is lightly snowing outside. The kind that if it does this for 8 hours (which it has) we might have something to actually snow blow. Other than that no snow predicted for the next 10 days. I'm sure DH is eager to play with his new toy.

We exchanged nice cards today but that's about it. DH has not bought me chocolate for Valentines Day since I was a size 5 which was somewhere in the early 80's. :lol: He would buy me (what I considered) really cheesy gifts :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: for a while but since I made fun of the light up rose that had a lumpy battery not too well concealed in the stem and simulated droplets of water that looked suspiciously like dried up blobs of Elmer's Glue (the finest gift China could make for 7 cents), I have haven't seen a Valentine's gift in years ;) :p Ain't love grand? :rofl:

Oh man, it's snowing harder - DH must be praying the mancave out there. :snowglo: He is making a special place for his new toy. Good thing we have several outbuildings to store this stuff.

We are also planning on taking a road trip up to Duluth for the day. Apparently there is a Outdoor Sportman Show and DH would like to go check out the boats. He is thinking about buying a fishing boat or a pontoon boat. Yes, we live on dry land but there are 2 lakes just down the road and water all over the place so hauling it on the trailer is no big deal. He said the sportsmans show has guns and fishing stuff and boats. I said I was a bit worried that if I went in there for any amount of time there'd be so much testosterone that I might walk out with a beard :doh: Yes, I am in a stupid mood today.

Michelle - Santa is adorable!!!! See, there are some guys that love unconditionally. Sorry that your divorce will be final tomorrow - not the best anniversary date. :( I hope that as you close that chapter that there will be new and exciting things ahead for you. :hug:

Ceejay - I cracked up with your comment about love for all except a certain boss. :rofl: That's too funny and totally true. Nice to hear that you planned a vacation for spring. It's good to have something to look forward to, an escape plan from the office. ;)

Annie - 5 years locked in a cell. Oy vay! At least you have a window for now. Makes you wish you could work from home which if some people do their work on the phone, maybe they could. Sorry Chris is not as affectionate as C - but he is still young and dumb unlike C who has been knocked around enough to know when he's got a good thing. ;) I hope you guys have a nice night together. Lil Man is so stinkin cute - saw your pics on FB. I see you have a vacation planned too - you sure do need one. Are you going to drive down? I'd only fly with Sassy Pants if I could keep her in the cabin.

Laura - how nice that you got the BF strawberries. Will he surprise you with something tonight? I have a Smith Corona (electric even) if you need a typewriter to do some new labels. :comp: I can't believe the ribbon has not dried out. Why does it take so long to go through files and papers? Seems like that's one of those activities that you start and make even more of a mess as you are "cleaning up". Did your contact lens come in?

Mel - I think you need to go down to that office and bare your teeth and bark a little so they know not to mess with or take advantage of Mel. :rollpin:

DH just came in and said they are not delivering the snowblower until tomorrow so I have 15 minutes to get ready to go get a burger.

Happy - Enjoy your Valentine's Day burger. So nice that the snowblower is being delayed a day. As for my divorce anniversary...I thought it's proximity to Valentine's Day would be rough...but I'm choosing to be thrilled about all the love I am blessed to have in my life! :) And, yes, I know that this next chapter of my life will be full of happiness, love and other blessings! :)

Back from the doctor. I'm gonna live. May be up all night due to the steroid shot and my b12. My throat is still very red and swollen. Decided not to say anything to the doctor about the goings on at work. I'm going to use reverse psychology instead. Works every time. I think I am calling a meeting with the bosses to discuss a couple of things.

There's a possibility that the chemical-fluoride is causing the problem. I know that when I'm not around that for a week I clear up. I wear my mask.

Today is the court day. I'm a little nervous, so any calm, confident, positive vibes you can send my way (especially around 3:30 CST) would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is the best thing for both of us. The finality of it after 23 years together is a bit sad though. Oh well, moving forward...that's what I've got to do.

I couldn't fall asleep until midnight last night (even with the sleep CDs). Too much on my mind I guess. Can't imagine why? :dunno: :lol:

The doc was a bit upset with me that I didn't come in last week end. Note to self go to doctor when sick.
Met up with my bff for a late lunch and was back home by dark. Think I'll go next week end to get my hair cut.

Ceejay - I wonder if there's other safety gear you could use to help not feel the effects of the chemicals. The plant may be doing the required minimum, but maybe there's more precautions?? Yeh, I dont' like to go to the doc with things like my annoying cough (finally disappearing, BTW), but when you're really feeling bad and it goes on for more than a day or two - why suffer?

I generally don't eat a lot of red meat, so that's what I seem to get a lot of cravings for. Glad you're finally getting that snowblower. Though I was thinking that when you said your snowfall is frequently light and fluffy, you could use the leaf-blower to get rid of it, LOL. :lol: So when's the Sport show in Duluth? LOL re growing a beard amongst all the testosterone. Heehee. Bf got me some very pretty flowers. We don't go all out with big gifts, never have for this holiday. I did get my contacts. Happy to be wearing them - turns out I see the computer monitor better in them than with my glasses. Nope, no use for a typewriter anymore. My labelmaker is perfect for the file tab inserts, especially when I can just re-use most of the existing ones by slapping the label right over the existing writing.

Last night bf and I went to the big appliance store to get the water filters for our fridge dispenser. Big exciting Val. Day outing, haha. Afterwards we went to the Middle Eastern restaurant for dinner. Yum!! We had lamb kabob sanwiches (in pita bread), a couple pieces of falafel, and baba ganoush dip (sort of like hummus). Love it! I managed to pass on buying a piece of baklava to go. The scale was down this morning, so I guess that was the right thing to do, LOL.

My weight is still just fluctuating up and down a pound or two, so I'm glad the WW at work appears to be a go. Next Friday is the informational/registr. meeting, and regular meetings will be on Tuesdays at lunchtime.

Tonight's a little bday dinner for Coal's 10th, and bf's mum is joining us. The four of us will eat steak! Yum. Sides for the humans will be sweet potato and green beans. Nice beginning to the 3-day weekend.

Actually, the nice beginning is when the office closes at 3 pm today! :D

Saturday morning I have a hair appointment, and that's it for my firm weekend plans. Other things I should do: laundry, more file purging/organizing, grocery shopping, dropping off donation items, EXERCISE. Things I want to do: Watch Downton, stop at the thrift shop, shop for fun things...funny how there's no overlap between the "should" and the "want". :shrug:

Okay, enough :blah: Time to get back to it.

Lots going on around the house today so short post for me. Snowblower is on it's way but I think the truck is too big to go over the little bridge leading to our house so DH will have to go to a pick up point. Hopefully the machine fits in our 4Runner. If not, they will have to take the long road around to the house.

Ceejay - I did see that the meteorite crashed in Russia. Oh great, something new to worry about. Up to this point those things have either passed us by or burnt up in the atmosphere. I'm glad no one was killed but it's sad that people were hurt. I can only imagine how scary that had to be - particularly when it hits and you have no idea what happened. Sounds like you had more than an irritation to the chemicals in your throat. Did interupting the antibiotics affect this or was it just something that needed something a little stronger?

Michelle - take it easy with the court appearance today :hug: Hopefully it will be quick and relatively painless. I'm sure one party always has it more difficult than the other. Hopefully you will sleep well tonight and rise tomorrow and give a big stretch and decide what you are going to do with the rest of your life - after giving Santa a good pet on the head :D

Mel - I thought that picture was particularly pretty too. Something different than the standard red roses. Glad I could send you off to the office with a smile on your face. DH was all fired up this morning. Thought he had been overcharged (severely) for his new cpap mask that he doesn't even like. Turns out he read the paperwork wrong. Never mind. It was just like a skit of Emily Latella on Saturday Night Live. I told him he's getting a bit high strung lately. Don't know if it's the medicine or just his nervousness about the heart procedure...

Anyway I do need to finish a load of pants laundry so that I don't have to go out in my tidy whities. I'm thinking people will NOT mistake me for one of those Sports Illustrated swimsuit models. Speaking of which for the cover - where's her swimsuit???? Just bikini bottoms, a ski jacket and her big giant bazzoomies which although the guys are drooling over her, I think she has ugly boobs for a young girl. And the cover looks photoshopped too. Her breasts look about one and a half times the size of her face. I tell you, Viagra contributed to the downfall of modern society. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Laura - My shoulds and wants don't overlap much either. I have to do laundry this weekend...and a little cleaning...but mostly I'm focusing on doing what I want to do. I'm going to a inner strength, self-love, self-confidence workshop tomorrow morning, followed by driving to Morton Grove, IL to go to a fundraiser for my friend's Moose Lodge. And on Sunday, I'm taking Santa to a doggie playtime that's geared for smaller breed dogs. :) Should be lots of fun for both of us! Please give Coal a big huge b'day hug for me. I hope you all enjoy your steak!

Happy - I actually enjoy the Sport show we have here in Milwaukee. I walk quickly by the booths for hunting guides/excursions so I don't have to focus on the stuffed dead animals or photos. I do enjoy the fishing booths. And they usually have dog training demonstrations and lumberjack demonstrations which are fun to watch. I mostly focused on petting the dogs. That, for me, was the best part of the show. :yes: I hope they get the snowblower delivered without too much trouble. I am hoping for a good night's sleep tonight...and tomorrow is truly the first day of the rest of my life! :dance: This Sunday, in between laundry and the dog playtime, I will spend time sorting through my boxes and take a first draft at updating my resume so that I am truly getting more prepared for my move west. Your DH has to not get so fired up....no matter what happens. :nono: I did get a chuckle from your reference to Emily Latella. I can hear her say, "Never mind." :rofl: I haven't seen the SI swimsuit cover, so I'll take your word for it.

Gotta get some more stuff taken care of before I leave.
