In reading FB, learned of some deaths of friends brothers and family...of course, I cried and sent deepest symphathies. It is just mind boggling that people, my age, are dying....I can hardly take it...I feel everyone's pain and cry for them...yes I cry for everyone in pain...I am toooooooo emotional. and actually I hate that part of my personality. Crying for everyone makes me stuffed up. BLAH!
Guess I will jump in the shower and get this day going....

Starting day 7/11 of work. It really has not been bad. My bosses are extremely good to me. Mel I like the stay clam and carry on. That's about all one can do. Told my sis last night that I was sleeping all day Thursday.
Fall is starting out on a good note. Supposed to be 46 tonight and 70's for the high the next couple of day's. We had a good rain yesterday. Hope it didn't hurt the farmers with their harvesting.
Annie
I need to hire you as my chef.
Laura
I had taco's one night this week. May have them again tonight with a salad.
quick post for me....Today, I'll be starting the sorting/packing process AND I'm going to see several rental properties. Tomorrow will be more of the same.
Hello ladies. Just a quick hello. Not sure why I thought I'd like scones whe they didn't do anything for me when I tried some years ago in a gift basket I'd received... But I made a batch from a ww recipe & had the same reaction-blah. Maybe they'll be better with some jam...
Went to the thrift shop before my hair Appt and bought a pretty silk blouse - $4! At my hair Appt right now with color on my head. After this will be lunch & grocery shopping.
Morning all.
Didn't forget to post yesterday, just to worn out to do so. My to do list is much smaller and things on it are not as physical as previously so maybe I will not be wandering around aching in too many places after this. Funnily enough with all the ton or so of soil I have shifted and the ton or so of gravel I have moved, I haven't lost weight. I would have thought that some of flab would have moved, but the scale says otherwise. Probably not eating right or portions are too big or something. Ther is always something. One thing is for sure, I know every muscle in my arms and legs - they all make themselves felt at some time during the day or night.
Michelle - sounds like you are hard at it. And I know from experience finding rentals is not easy. Hope you pick up something soon. Hope you are negotiating a decent settlement on the house and will be able to buy yourself a nice place sometime in the future.
Annie - ever the busy one. You can be chef in my house anytime for a while at least. The garden is coming along and I see there are tiny tomatoes on a couple of the vines and the beans are flowering already. Corn is getting up to the elephants eye - if you know of a short elephant.
I am considering charities for this year. Haven't got around to a decision yet. Will let you all know soon. Since I am planning to spend around $1000 on them I'm sure we can organise something in the breast cancer line.
Ceejay - over the worst of it now. It's all downhill now until the eleventh day. I sure hope you will be taking a couple of days off after that effort.
Mel - Keep calm and carry on. Wasn't that the mantra for Britain during the Diamond Jubilee or something. We often see crazy things under the 'Keep calm' banner. Glad to hear you are having a cartoon weekend. I haven't watched much tv lately since everytime I sit in the chair, I go to sleep and I wake up with a cold coffee and a hot cat on my knee. Sometimes the coffee is over my knee as well.
Happy - hope all goes well with mum and your visit. How are you getting on with persuading her to move?
Laura - scones huh? My mother used to make great scones. Hers were never dry and dusty like the store bought ones. Don't know what she did to fix that since they are only flour, milk, butter and some flavour or other. Haven't made any for years.
Okay better get dressed and get out there - just got to fix the geotextile fabric in place and cut it to go around the tree roots and then fill everything up with gravel. Then that part of the garden is done for the time being! Another thing off the list. Still don't know if the DS2 and GF are going to use the house while I am away. He is coming over tomorrow and we shall discuss it then. If not, I need to get some one in to water the garden. Don't want all this hard work to go to weeds again do I? Oh yes and the green waste bag man comes tomorrow, better go fill up the bag to ensure I get my moneys worth. Then I guess I might have to see if I can cancel him for the next month or so.
Things to do. People to worry, pets to chase for digging in my carrot patch AGAIN
Got up at 5:00. Couldn't sleep a bit longerl. Took Miss Sassycakes out to potty, she said no way it is too stinkin cold and my feet are freezing....came in gave her some doggy brekkie and then she went out to potty....good girl.
In the process of making my first pot of Fall chili. Baby boy is SUPPOSED to come for car and I am sitting with my adorable lil man. Mom and Daddie are going to the Colts game.
Chili has my tomatos, green pepper, banana peppers and one jalapeno in it, not enough to blow your mouth out but just enough to give it a kick. Mixed in with ground beef, maple sausage, kidney beans, chili beans, tomato sauce and my secret ingredient (2 T of brown sug), chili powder, and a prayer. Everyone brags over my chili, I don't see it, but will take it. Probaby barfing behind my back...lol. Going to make some cornbread to go with. All about ready to assemble into my crockpot...except the cornbread. Serving sour cream, cheese and onions on the side....if you have never tried chili with sour cream, do so, it is amazing.
Sitting with lil man today as the kids go to the Colts game. Compliments of Chris's uncle who works for the Colts....free, free, free...the best. Plus I get to spend quality time with my lil babe. Yeah!! He was so good all day yesterday while sis ran all my errands with me. Left at 1030 yesterday and did not park my car in garage till 6. Shue weeeee warn out.
SHADDIE...so glad your list is getting shorter and less demanding of the muscles. I am sure you need to take an epsom salts bath come evening. Stop by for some chili.
LAURA...I have never liked scones either. They are dry and boring. Those that like them, all the power to you, have mine!
CHELLE...glad to hear of progression. You are so awesome and doing the perfect thing for you. Hugs.
CEEG....it is almost over...just a few more days then sleep city....strength to you my chickster sister.
MELLIE....I keep telling DD not to have a June/Gemini baby as they suffer the worst on emotions. She was especially she started her period while we were out yesterday...lol.
Got lots to get done...Sassy is tearing up an Enquire mag on my living room floor, at least I know what she is doing....
Have a wonderful Sunday/nite...hi to all the chickies.
GOOD MORNING CHICKS
LOOKS LIKE THE BIG STORM LAST NIGHT BROUGHT OUT THE SUN AGAIN.
GOING TO RUN DOWN TO THE LITTLE STORE FOR MILK.
NOTHING NEW HERE.
ALARMS HAVE BEEN SILENT.
HOPING YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY
CEEJAY....THE "KEEP CALM" SAYINGS HAVE BECOME VERY POPULAR.
ESPECIALLY ON THE PINTEREST WEBSITE. PEOPLE ARE MAKING POSTERS & CARDS OUT OF THEM.
AND SHAD IS RIGHT....BUT T WAS THE POSTER WORDS FOR WW2 IN BRITAIN.
IT REALLY WAS "KEEP CALM & CARRY ON".
HOPE DAY 8 GOES WELL. WE'RE ROOTING FOR YOU :cheer4:
MICHELLE...SORTING & PACKING CAN BE VERY CLEANSING.
USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE AND LET IT ALL GO
SHAD....CAN'T PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES.
YES IT WAS ENGLISH.....WW2 TO BE EXACT.
DON'T BE SPILLING COFFEE OVER THE CAT OR YOUR LAP!!
I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE AFTER ALL THAT WORK YOU DIDN'T LOSE.

ANNIE.....THOUGHT OF YOU LAST NIGHT.

IT COMES INTO TOWN AND PASSES "ANNIE'S DELI".
I WAS CRACKING UP!
YOU MUST HAVE BEEN SELLING THE CHILI IN THERE!!
IT SOUNDS GREAT
LAURA.....DIDN'T SEE YOU SQUEEZED IN THERE!!
$4 FOR A SIL BLOUSE...WHAT A BARGAIN!!
HAVE A QUIET SUNDAY!!
SCONES ARE ONLY GREAT WITH TONS OF FATTENING STUFF ON THEM AND OF COURSE JAMS!!
Morning.
Think I've gotten my second wind. I feel almost like new. But I'm not going to over do things. Today through Wedensday and I'll be through with this hitch of overtime. Sleep has been the key word for doing overtime. And taking my meds.
My co-worker called me last night and invited me to eat dinner with her. This is the first time I've been in her house and it's gorgous. The kitchen is vintage. Still has the orignal wall paper and sink in the kitchen. But I love it. Reminded me of my grandmothers kitchen. However, no dishwasher.
Shad
You must be building muscle with all that hard work. I'd be so sore I wouldn't be able to move. Yes, I'm on the down hill side of this OT. I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Mel
Glad the alarms were quite last night. Let's hope that they stay quiet.
Haven't seen the commercial on the Prius and Annie's Deli. Need to watch for that. I need to check into Pinterest.
Michelle
Good for you in starting the packing and purging. Hope you can find a rental property soon. also sending good vibes. Loved all the sayings you have been putting up on FB.
Annie
Yum, chili. Are you making corn bread to go with it. This week end is perfect weather for chili.
Mel - Yeh, been seeing the "Keep Calm" signs in all variations on fb postings. Glad the alarms were quiet. Took the bargain blouse to the one price cleaner, so tack on another $3 for dry cleaning...still a bargain. So much for scones. Speaking of B&W mysteries - I dvr'd "The Big Sleep" last week - need to watch that one. Been a while since the last time.
Annie - Busy day for you - enjoy the lil Jake-sitting today. How about some Jake-Sassy pics, hint hint nudge nudge pester pester. Maybe the prayer is what makes the chili so good, LOL!! If I had to run outside to do my biz, I'd be holding it longer too once the chilly/wet weather hit too!! Poor Sassy.
Shad - I guess if I add all the stuff to make a scone tasty, it would be a yummy muffin, with all the muffin calories. Congrats on completing those big laborious projects. Sorry you didn't lose any weight - maybe you increased your muscles??
Michelle - Hope your rental search was productive. The idea of packing everything up is daunting. The idea of purging the excess becomes that much more attractive.
Ceejay - Tacos with a salad sounds smart - I actually measured out all the ingredients I ate in my tacos to see how bad the damage was...yikes! I need to cut down on the number of tacos and perhaps have a salad or bowl of soup with them. Countdown to Thursday!! Do you get your 4-day weekend starting then?
Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies. Have a great day!

Nothing much to report. Rest of the day was lunch, grocery shopping and a dog walk by the creek. Oh, and a return to the resale shop after my hair appointment (didn't have enough time before the appt to make my rounds of the whole shop). I bought three framed art prints, two small ones for the kitchen (will replace the cluttered cork board) and one I just liked for the print but the frame is ugly. Actually, the frame doesn't look too bad now that I wiped most of the dust off of it.
Today I want to finally get over to Trader Joe's and maybe Aldi too. And some laundry. But right now, I'll have a mug of tea and sit down with the Sunday paper.
Your oven must pour out a lot of heat Laura. Mine barely makes a blip on the temperature of the house. I love it. So much better than all those rotten sprays and sponging out.
Mel - no new clothes as yet. I think I have enough to get me through the first 14 days. If I see anything up in Darwin I will get it up there. Seems I will be working in town so I get to see the shops. Darwin has a fairly famous open air market. That should be interesting to see. I've never been in town at the right time previously.
Ceejay - good to hear that you are hanging in there and have the second wind going. It's always a problem on shift work I found. Then of course, once you have that adrenaline buzzing it is hard to shut it down when you finish.
Annie - Chilli time already??? I'm not a fan of hot chilli food. If I can't taste the ingredients because of the chilli, I question the reason for eating them. But it did sound good and I like cornbread so send me some when you are ready. Thanks for the mail the other day. I have yet to read it through properly, but it looks interesting.
Happy - your parcel arrived at the same time as Annies letter. Well done for the co-ordination there you two. I will probably take it down to Adelaide on one of my weekends off from Darwin and the NTG. On the other hand I may just re-addess it and mail it on. Thank you for that.
Soi while it is nice and cool out there, I will go and plant the lavender and the ground covers and mulch over the garden beds. Another chore to cross off the list. Back later. Oh yes some pictures of Sophia arrived on facebook yesterday.
Talked to my sis this afternoon. I'm going for a visit her on the 19th of October in the Branson/Springfield area. Which will be my long week end. And she'll be babysitting the grandson.
Larua
Unfortunately this will be my 3 day week end coming up. Good find on the silk blouse.
Almost going home time for me. I need to stop by the grocry store.
