GOOD MORNING HONEY BEES!!

RICHIE & THE CREW ARE SETTING OFF FOR HIS BRO'S THIS MORNING..
JEN WILL NOT SIT STILL.
THE HOSP & THE DR TOLD HER SHE NEED ABOUT 8-12 WEEKS FOR FULL BODY AND FOOT RECOVERY.
SHE CANNOT WEAR A CAST OF ANY KIND AND NOT FALL AGAIN.
THEY WILL TAKE NEW PICS IN ABOUT 10 DAYS WHEN ALL THE SWELLINGS GO DOWN.
THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO FRACTURES....EVEN TINY ONES.
DR MARC SAID SHE COULD GO BACK TO THE TRAILER BUT NO WALKING TO THE POOL.
SIT INSIDE & OUT WITH LEG ELEVATED.
BUT KEEP MOVING DOING SOME SMALL DAILY CHORES.
HE TOLD ME TO HAVE THE "WHEELCHAIR TALK" WITH HER.
MAKE SURE SHE'S NOT IN DENIAL. I KNOW SHE'S NOT.
WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT IT SEVERAL TIMES.
IT'S NOT REALLY ABOUT GETTING A CHAIR...IT'S ABOUT FACING THE MUSCLE WASTING.
SHE IS FULLY AWARE HAVING WATCHED ME.

15 baby turkeys under the bedroom window this morning. How did I sleep through that???? You can only imagine how many there would have been had we been feeding them all along. Happy's Turkey Farm. But you can only look and pet them as I don't have the heart to kill them. I hear the wild ones are really tough anyway. They are too skittish to photograph but I'll keep trying.

Good afternoon ladies! Well, It started out busy today, then has slowed way down to a dead crawl. O’m ok with slow, in a little funk and don’t feel like taking calls. Made a bunch of outbound calls (follow ups) so it was not a total wasted day. Not much planned for this weekend. DH has to work all day tomorrow in Rockford and he forgot to tell me so I could take off, so my brother is going to watch the kids for us. Thank goodness I have family close enough that can help out when needed.

Mom is doing really well, I think…She had PT 3 days a week, but after her Session on Friday they talked and they are going to switch to 2 days a week so she has more time to recover in between. I will still try to help my brother out, but I work Monday and Friday so that makes it harder. I will just have to keep going over during the week to help him out. Still working on going thru clothes this week. I have a ton to get thru and my SIL is coming over Tuesday for Moral support.

Melody~I hope Jen does not have any fractures, but that is going to be a tough road, Sitting with her leg up and no pool. I would cry. Enjoy your cooler weather, I think I missed my chance with work getting in the way!

Annie~I so envy your garden, but I barely have time to weed and keep up with my small flower beds in front of the house, and this year, I just let them be Too much trouble to water everyday. Thanks for the kudos, I am trying to raise my kids so they are not spoiled brats. Some days I am succeeding others not so much…but overall I think we are in the right direction. How far are you from chicago? I can drive down and take that zuchinni off your hands!!

Happy~Prayers for your DH and Mum. Hope the treatments go well and the new drugs don’t wear them out. My SIL was on Coumadin for just a little while and it really wore her out. You gotta tell DH to stop putting feeders out, no wonder the bear keeps returning. I would totally be freaking out! For your laptop, I’ve had some good results with malwarebytes. If you google search you should beable to find some info.

Ceejay~so glad you made it home safe and happy from your trip. The bears are so close, if that is a problem there you would think they would have some preventative measures in place. You are doing such a great job eating healthy…I need to follw your lead and get back on the band wagon.

Shad~Whoo, hoo, you are closing in on the end of this contract. You so deserve a break after this is over. It will be so nice to be home then go see the new Grandbaby! Sophia is so cute. I love when they are so tiny…wish that stage would last longer. Didn’t see you post, did your Knight arrive and sweep you off your feet??

Laura~I agree , if you don’t have a mechanic you can trust just do the work at the dealership. Can be a big pain sometimes, but at least you know they are using the correct parts for your car. How was Navy Pier?? I havn’t been up there in a few years. Hope the cruise was nice.

Michelle~There is nothing like jumping in with Both feet. I hope you were able to learn a lot from the code push. How were the italian singers? It sounds like a fun time.
Patty~Hope your weekend was enjoyable to make up for having the root canal done! Were you able to take a break and relax or were you on the go all weekend?

Ok, time to get back to work, Only 2 hrs left…then 12 more tomorrow. Yay…will it ever end?? Am I too young to dream about retiring?

Good evening Worldlies.

Ellen - Sometimes it's nice to have some downtime at work. On Thursday afternoon I spent time organizing my desk. For most things I have desk files (file folders), but I had developed a pile of loose papers that I sorted through and have somewhat tamed. Nice your brother can watch the kids while both you and dh are at work. Actually, the dock for the boat we took for the cruise was just outside of Navy Pier proper, in a spot I didn't realize boats docked. And I wasn't the only one - some people had trouble finding the boat.

Happy - Wow, all those baby turkeys! Hope you can snap a photo for us, I'd like to see them. Well, at least your hub and your mother can compare notes on their treatments. I hope he does well on the anticoagulant (is that a blood thinner??) Good luck on your interview. I got out in the garden today and weeded the veggie patch. I finally planted some cilantro seeds, and after I watered everything doggy promptly walked all over where the seeds are planted. Good thing all the other veggie plants have cages around them. Your veggies look great. That cuke looked fabulous - please tell me you've picked it and enjoyed it by now!

Mel - An 8-12 week healing time sounds like Jen had a pretty bad fall. That's terrible. I hope she doesn't have any fractures. At this point boring sure sounds good for both of us!!

Annie - Did you go back to sleep after C left for work?? I sure hope so!!

Ceejay - Wow, that bear was really close to your lodging!! Scary! Sorry you've got the post-vacay blues.

Shad - Glad Sophia's out of the ICU. Very cute photo - she looks quite peaceful there. Nice sunset. Too bad you're on your own at your lodgings for breakfast and some of your dinners - how inconvenient. (shaking my head)

Hellos to Patty, Michelle & Java.
===

I left work at three yesterday and walked a few blocks to the bus stop. It was a gorgeous day - cooler than it's been, sunny and breezy. I was thoroughly enjoying people watching while I waited for the bus...but it took forever for mine to come, and then it was crammed, standing room only . Arrived with about 10 min. before scheduled departure, though the boat left about 10 minutes late actually.

What a lovely day for a cruise. We didn't go far - just a bit into the river (went through the locks twice) and then up and down the lakefront so as to enjoy the skyline. There was an open bar and a casual buffet with grilled sausage, beef & chicken for sandwiches and potato salad and coleslaw and cookies for dessert. Everyone was very nice, and D and I both enjoyed ourselves. D won a raffle and now can attend the local conference for her industry group for free.

Since bf had made plans to see friends, I decided to go with D to the casino and see our favorite local band again. I didnt' think she wanted to stay for the whole thing, but she surprised me and we stayed for the whole thing (I didn't care either way because it ended at midnight and my house is only about a 10-15 minute drive away from there.)

Lazed for a bit this morning, then got out and weeded the veg patch and planted the cilantro seeds.

Bf and I ate lunch and headed to the mall where he looked at eyeglass frames and I got my iphone's protective shield replaced (ghost armor - it does a great job, but after almost 2 years of it, I had one little spot with a gouge in the shield and then one of the corners started pulling up). Nice they replace it for only $5.

Stopped at the market for groceries and then back home. Oh, and we bought our spray bottle fan/misters!! Walked doggy and that's about it. Nothing planned for tonight. Tomorrow we'll have tacos for dinner.

Okay, I'll get this posted. Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekends!!

GOOD MORNING CHICKLETTES

YESTERDAY WAS JUST TOO GORGEOUS.
I SAT OUTSIDE ON & OFF ALL DAY AND AGAIN AFTER DINNER.
AND........WAIT FOR IT............MOSTLY BY MYSELF!
I SAT CLOSE TO THE WALL & WHEN THE SENIORS LOOKED OUT THEY COULDN'T SEE ME.

I FORGOT TO SAY THE DR SAID THE GASTRO THING IS 99% A "FOREVER" THING.
DAMAGES ARE FROM FOODS, MEDS AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE.
(like an ulcer in the intestine just outside the stomach)
SO A SOFTER BLANDER DIET IS THE PLAN. NO BULK EITHER.
I DEFINITELY WILL BE THE OLDEST GERBER BABY ALIVE NOW
NOTHINE ELSE NEW HERE. HAVE A GREAT DAY

HAPPY........OH.....HOW CUTE!! I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE THEM PECKING AROUND.
I'VE HEARD THE SAME THING THAT THEY ARE A TOUGH LOT TO EAT.
BUT NOW THEY ARE FAMILY

ELLEN....GO AHEAD AND DREAM OF RETIREMENT! YOU DESERVE IT!
HOPE YOU ARE OUT OF THE FUNK AND HAPPY AGAIN.
GLAD MOM IS DOING BETTER. GOTTA BE TOUGH ON ALL OF YOU.
I AM GLAD YOU HAVE FAMILY CLOSE BY FOR EMERGENCIES AND SUPPORT!!
HAVE A NICE SUNDAY

LAURA....THE CRUISE SOUNDED GREAT AND THE NIGHT TIME TOO.
GOOD TO GET OUT AND ABOUT.
I THINK I NEED TO TAKE BACK THE BUBBLE WRAP FOR JENNIFER NOW.
OR MAYBE TAKLE HER TO THE MALL FOR GHOST ARMOR!!
HOPE YOU & BF HAVE A NICE WEEKEND

Good morning ladies -

I'm sitting here doing website work before I head upstairs to hopefully finish the decluttering project I started yesterday. There's so much stuff to go through in our "office". I'm not sure I'll get it all done today. I did get part of the downstairs decluttered, which looks much nicer now.

We didn't get to Festa last night...DMIL just wanted to stay in. Today looks like it will be another stay around the house day except for grocery shopping; which is fine as I've got plenty to do.

I got a new cell phone yesterday, and I really like it. I was able to get it for practically free since my previous 2 year contract was up.

================
Shad - I'm so glad Sophia's out of the ICU. She is such a beauty!! How long before you are going to visit? I get infuriated by those ridiculous skill sets forms too. Arrrgh!

Ellen - I'm glad your mom is doing better. So nice that you and your brother can share looking out for her, and that your brother can and does babysit when you need him to.

Laura - The cruise sounds wonderful! I've done the Chicago Architectural cruise that goes down the river and then out on Lake Michigan for a little bit as well. I've also done the dinner cruise that Milwaukee has that goes down the Milwaukee River and then out onto Lake Michigan.

Happy - So sorry to hear about DH's condition. But at least you now have a diagnosis and a plan of action. If it's any consolation...DMIL has been on blood thinners like coumadin for 20+ years and she's still going strong. She does bruise easily, but that just makes her be a little more careful. Good luck on the interview next week!! I love seeing babies and baby animals.

Mel - I'm so sorry to hear about Jen! I hope she follows doctor's orders. And that you do too, young lady. So nice you could get outside yesterday and not be pestered.

Annie - I hope you and C are having a good weekend!

Ceejay - It's normal to miss everyone...but just start planning your next get together!!

I've got to sign off and finish the website work and get my butt upstairs. Procrastination is why I've had so much clutter for so long...and I can't take it any more.

Much love and many hugs,

Good Morning Chicks.
Quiet here for now. Nothing is new, just picked up my brother last night and went home, had Turkey sausage that DH made, then went to bed shortly after. DH left this morning at 5am…hopefully things go smoothly and he will be back home this evening.
This is the first time that we are leaving the kids with my 17 yo brother for such an extended time. He is also bringing them to church, so we will see how that goes. Thankfully my Mom and dad will also be at church so the kids can all sit with them.
Time to get back to my coffee…have a great Sunday/Monday!!

Ellen
How long will you be gone?

Happy
Ahhhhh baby turkey's. I'm envious of your location. Good luck on the interview, or have you already had this? I haven't gone back very far to read.

Mel
Good idea to sit a little farther from the door. I miss my early mornings on the deck in the mountains. It was so peaceful.

Laura
I've been wanting to take a cruise down the Mississippi river, even a day cruise would be good enough for me.

Nothing new
Some one mentioned about the regulations on the garbage. There was nothing posted in the cabin.

Good morning,

Going to be a warm one out there. Not sure what I'll do yet. A busy week coming up - going to a farm way up north to go blueberry picking tomorrow. Getting my hair done on Tuesday. Interview on Wednesday. We'll see what the rest of the week brings.

I saw some of the turkeys this morning but they are so flighty - especially with young ones that the minute we raised the shade on the window - they took off. That makes it so difficult to get a picture.

To clarify (this was news to me too) it's not a blood thinner as it's popularly called. It's an anticoagulant which means the medication changes the way your blood clots so that it doesn't clot as easily. Less clots, less opportunity for clots to build up in the heart when it's not pumping properly. Vitamin K is actually assists in clotting (what one might think of as "thickening" the blood). So if you are taking an anticoagulant med to lessen the clotting factor, eating foods rich in Vitamin K which increases clotting would decrease the effectiveness of the medication. Also eating foods with Vit K will affect your weekly blood tests. Sound crazy yes it is. But we will figure it out. Less ability to clot also means blood pools so that's why you bruise more easily. One thing we learned is that while you have to be careful of a cut that won't stop bleeding, more importantly you have to be aware of banging yourself and having internal bleeding which is not so readily apparent. Ok, now I've given myself a headache

Anyway I have to get busy with something here before the day runs away from me. Have a good weekend ladies.

ceejay~I'm sorry i wasn't clear. my brother is watching the kids today. I work a 12 hr shift on Sunday's and DH is approx 200 mi away for an install project, that i hear is not going very well. So my brother has the kids all day today...I don't think I would be comfortable leaving them overnight, like I was with my sister, but she had a lot more experience. Also was older before we started leaving overnight.

Hi guys,

Supposed to go blueberry picking early in the morning. It's a 75 mile ride to the farm so I hope it's worth it. I should have been in bed 2 hours ago - I am driving. So this will be short. I'll try and post when I get back home later tonight.

Morning
Yesterday and today weren't to good for me physically. Don't think I got rested after that long drive. I should have stuck with my original plan and broke that up inot 4 hours drives. I still have a headache. I think part of this is due to my sinuses. I've take some Aleve and will take some more.

-------
Michelle
I need to declutter and clean My kitchen is a horrible mess, but I haven't felt like cleaning it.

Mel
The weather was cooler up in the mountains but there was also some heavy rain too.

Happy
Enjoy the blue berry picking.

Good Morning Zee Chicklets wee wee.....mon cherie' (sp) PePe LaPew

Harvested yet more lettuce this weekend. Only got two bags this time. Gallon zip lock bags. The zucchini caserole was fabulous, if I do say so myself. Low in calories too. Very tasty. I have 4 zucchini on my cabinet, trying to think of recipes. Three more ready for harvesting, trying to hold out. Still no cukes. I have about a million 1/4" long starts of cucumbers but none have taken off on growing. I got the prettiest yellow pepper with a bit of green on it and a red pepper with a bit of green on it. Just picked those yesterday.

So yesterday I went charging up onto the porch and stubbed the H out of my 2nd toe on my left foot. It cracked the toenail right in half and came off. It bled like no other. My foot and toe throbbed the rest of the day and most of the night. Needless to say it was another long night of very little sleep. I even took a PM and it didn't seem to help much. I think the cause was I drank WAY too much sun tea yesterday and was on a bit of a caffeine high. My heart even raced a bit.

Still doing good on healthy eating and portion control. Was down another half lb this morning. 4.5 lbs down total. I am not exercising as you all know I hate with a passion. But I did get some yard work done in that 98 degree weather. I may have melted some fat off. Just like budda! lol Today's high is 100, it might as well be a million. It is just to stinkin' hot to be out in that mess. Poor C and Samantha's Chris. Chris is doing roofs right now and about to die. Watered, weeded, cut the high "weed" areas with the mower, sprayed for bugs and cleaned out my lil pool and refilled it. Sat in it for a good while.

Curtis went up on the roof early yesterday morning and tarred the flapping shingles then replaced ones that had been missing since spring. He used tar this time, like to see those blow off. Thank God for good underneath tar papar as there have been no leaks. I think he had to replace about a dozen shingles. Then he chaulked all around the garage trim and the front piller/post on the front porch. Wanted to get that done for fear of the wood rotting out from rain <---what rain...!! Now we just need to paint all the trim again. Then he sealed around the pipes under the kitchen sink to help with the annoying ants. We have them down to a minimum. Maybe finding 2 or 3 a day on the cabinet. I didn't do much after I stubbed my dang toe. Thank God on Saturday I got the vacuuming, mopping and dusting down, oh and scroured our bathroom.

Posting this and will come back and do personals. My sales rep is here today and we are trying to get these new groups submitted.

Have a great day/night.
