April Antics and Adventures in the Land of the Worldlie Chicks
Welcome to a new month - spring for those up here, autumn for the chick down under. At least we both get pretty colors and nicer weather ;)
Here's last month's thread in case you want to go back and catch up - March Madness with the Worldlie Chicks |
Ok, now to get to a proper post - always an adventure trying to toggle 2 threads and catch up.
Today was supposed to be warm and sunny which I was eagerly anticpating but it's another day of coolness, gloom and spitting wet stuff. :( I miss the sun already. As far as the internet goes, the tech came out to the house, tested a few things and said it comes down to the service provider's network which I guess is sort of good news meaning it's not some repair here. Said they have an overload of customers on the wire (no big surprise when you only have 1 choice for a service provider). They are slowly moving customers to a second branch which should result in some improvement. Of course no time frame given, just that it's ongoing. And frustrating. I click on a page or open a browser and it just sits and sits. Particularly when you have slow sites like this one can be sometimes. I guess it's nature's way of getting me off the computer  We were going to take an ATV ride today but I guess that's out. I bought some new bedding yesterday so have a mountain of laundry to do - I'm wondering if I should just take it down to the laundromat and use the big washers and dryers. I washed one of the comforters yesterday and even though it was a twin size, it took up my entire extra large capacity washer and I have lots of room in there since I don't have an agitator taking up space in the tub. I also don't like to do more than 3 loads of wash per day and I have at least 4 loads of bedding to do. Just wondering if being Sunday the laundromat would be a little busier. We drove down to the shopping town yesterday to pick up some things. On the road we pass a bare high tree that seems to be a favorite perch for a bald eagle. Yesterday DH had his camera and sure enough, there was the eagle. Here's a picture of it http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...heroadside.jpg Looks close but the tree was actually about 30 feet tall - it's a bit blurry as it is a busy road and I was driving slowly as DH was hanging out the passenger side snapping quickly hoping to get a decent shot. |
Now to try and get a few personals in...
Ceejay - I hope your niece will be ok. Did you get the leaking meter resolved? Mel - did your bird die? When did this happen? I honestly don't remember reading about it. I'm so sorry. So glad that you got more than you anticipated in a refund. And you are doing something practical like filling the freezers instead of what most people would do - oooh new 5 inch high heeled shoes and a cute top to match  Did you call ahead to TJ and tell them to stock the shelves because Mel is coming with a pile of cash  Shad - sorry about the back acting up. I think we naturally tend to stoop and slump as we get older. That is probably part of the problem. Michelle would say we are not strengthening our core and she'd be exactly right. Can't blame you for getting miffed with the DS at this point. Shed is certainly overdue on getting done. At this pace he'd fit in perfectly with the hired contractors down south  I hope you can get him incented to finish this already. Annie - hope you had a good night out with your bro's band and that the extra company was more pleasure than hassle. I saw a rescue of a poor abandoned puppy on the internet today. God bless those people who do animal rescues. If I won the lottery one day (anyone want a bunch of worthless mega millions lottery tickets? ) I promise I would give a chunk to animal rescue organizations. If we ever go around to formalizing our will I'd do the same with whatever was left over from our estate if we didn't spend it all. I absolutely detest the smell of vinegar although it's one of the best "green" cleaners. I also heard talk of the benefits of drinking cider vinegar although I don't think I could ever do it myself. Hope it helps you. Just not too much - it is acidic. I like the moss roses too - they didn't like it down south - too hot for them I think. They are one of those things that if they are happy, they are abundant but don't grow very well if not. But they are very colorful. Looks like the sun is trying to peek out of the clouds. I hope it gets nicer. DH is calling me, better go see what he wants outside. Sorry I didn't get to all of you. Have a good Sunday chicks. Happy April to all. No tricks today - I HATE April Fool's Day. :^: |
Here!
Just answering roll call. Now I'm going tennis shoe shopping. Hello ladies!

THEN I CAME HERE AND FOUND THE NEW THREAD. HAPPY PALM SUNDAY CHICKS!!! I HAVE HAD NO APRIL FOOLS JOKES PLAYED ON ME YET TODAY! :wizard: HAPPY....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STARTING THE NEW THREAD. THE BALD EAGLE SITS IN ALL HIS GLORY!! GREAT SHOT DH!! THANKS FOR POSTING IT. WE HAVE SOME KIND OF FALCONS OR EAGLES THAT FLY ALONG THE CLIFF AND OVER OUR BUILDING. ONE OF THE DRIVERS KEEPS TELLING THE SENIORS THEY'RE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE! HE IS SO MEAN  HOPE THYE SUN SHINES ON BOTH OF US SOON. RAINY AND ACHY WEATHER AND I HATE IT!! HAVE A SUPER DAY. PS: YES THE BIRD, my "grandson", DIED ....LAST MARCH I THINK IT WAS? OR WAS IT THE YEAR BEFORE?? GOD MY MEMORY IS GOING!! RIGHT AROUND MY BIRTHDAY. I MISS HIM SOMETHING AWFUL BUT NOT THE MESS OR THE SINUS. PPS: I HAD TO GO BACK AND CHECK...IT WAS APRIL 20,2010!! ALMOST 2 YRS AGO. WOW! I HAVE KNOWN MANY WOMEN WHO HAVE DONE THAT WITH EACH PREGNANCY. KEEP US POSTED:hug: MARY....GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE ALIVE AND "KICKING". WE'LL ADD YOU TO THE APRIL ROSTER:hug: HOPE ALL IS WELL IN WV!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
No need to fret over the water meter. The leak is on the city side and not registering on my side. Also yesterday when I was outside I saw a peony bud. The first one I've had since bringing the plant back from mom's after her death in 1998. Go figure.
I really should be working on the reports but I'm not in the mood. Guess I'll make myself. Mary Thanks for checking in. You are missed when you don't post. Mel I saw your bird nest and had to go check on the one on the clarifier. Two small white eggs. The mother dove flew off when I went out side. I'd forgotten about it being Palm Sunday. Think I'l bring my camera tomorrow and see if I can sneak in a picture of the bird eggs. Happy Thanks for starting the new thread. The picture of the eagle was good. I've never seen one in real life. back to the reports. |
Happy Sunday/Monday all.
Happy - Thanks for starting the new thread and posting that pic of the eagle. What a sight, right in your "neighborhood". :) Any hurry with the bedding? I say just do it little by little if it's not. I forget when your mum is coming to visit. Mel - I would not have thought it was nearly two years since your "grandson" passed!! Where does the time go??? Glad you're putting your tax refund to good use. Ceejay - I hope your niece and her pregnancy are okay!! I'm glad the neighbor got the dog on a leash - people need to be responsible for their pets!! Did the leaking meter get repaired yet?? Hate to see you with a big bill arising out of that. Annie - How was your bro's band and the company? My band and my company were great, and bf & I even did a decent job cleaning house. And bf finally hung the three framed pictures in the front sewing/guest bedroom. Sad time doing things that remind you of HB. :( Time will help. Shad - Hope your back is steadily improving. Will the gardening make it better or worse??!! Maybe the enjoyment of being outside doing what you like at least distracts from the pain. :) Mary - Find any good sneakers? I've been saving my ridiculously expensive pair for cardio exercise only, but I'm currently not taking classes, so starting to wear them for walking. Need to find a less expensive alternative. Just seeing them makes me resentful of the cost. Hellos to Patty & Michelle!! --- Nice dinner w/ bf and my friend last night. BF went home and D & I went to see the band. As usual, entertaining and funny, and what a nice venue! We got home before midnight! Been looking online for flights to visit mom. !@#$% Oops. :tape: Really expensive, and the alternative airport is really only 40 miles away, but my mom is not a skilled or comfortable driver so I don't think her picking me up is the best solution. Need to work on that. She's a frugal person, so maybe knowing the $$ (or is it $$$) savings can help her grit her teeth and hit the road. Shuttles/taxi are also stupidly expensive. Would be nice if this were an April Fool's joke... Well, gonna get showered, dressed and have lunch. I'll check to see if I can extend my borrowing time on the two library dvds I haven't watched yet, but I'm not optimistic on that. TTFN! :flow2: |
Morning all,
Happy - thanks for starting the new thread. I completely forgot yesterday and just carried on with the old. Nice pic of the eagle. Love to see some of them floating on thermals and spotting their prey. We have a glorious wedgetail eagle here and I have tried to get photos of them but they don't co-operate. They use passing cars to project them up in flight. It's happened to me a couple of times and I see this big beautiful body with chocolate brown feathers, tipped with gold go floating over the roof of the car and across the bonnet of the car. Then it soars up into the sky. Magnificent creatures. Turtle - buy me a pair of runners too will you. I badly need a new pair but have so much trouble finding them to fit my wide flat feet that I run the old ones into the ground rather than get new ones. Happy shopping. Mel - good onya for getting a reasonable refund from the IRS. Pack of vultures that they are. Might have to get Jen and Richie to sit on the freezer to be able to close the lid or doors. Happy shopping to you too. Laura - one way to get cheap flights is to book them from overseas. Hope you can manage to find something for your break. Do they have fly/ drive deals over there? Ceejay - that's a long while for a plant to sulk and refuse to put out flowers. I would not have thought that Peonies would grow down there. I get grumpy because they won't grow here. Back at work and trying to solve a few problems around the traps. The big T has gone back to Moolarben to train some new users. Hopefully I am home for a good long period at the moment. Time to get on DS2's wick anyway. Weather is settling down into the normal Autumn pattern - clear skies, warm days, cooling nights. Miss Puss is shedding her summer coat and leaving great clumps of white and ginger on the mats and beds - grrrrrrr. Doesn't make my cleaning life any easier. Better go and see if I can sort some doco out. I've managed to break that stupid Sharepoint program this morning and now I have managed to upset the equally ridiculous uPerform program. Oh goody. They might send me home if I can wreck three in a row --- Ya think. |
Just a quick check-in. Busy day today, church, cleaning, laundry, grocery store. I've made up my mind, no more excuses on not working out. I've got my game plan and I am ready.
I will post more later... |
For those of you who wonder what I do with my life, the following more or less describes the training department to which I belong.
In fact it is so indicative of what goes on that it might have been written about us. Memo to all employees: In order to assure the highest levels of quality work and Productivity from employees, it will be our policy to keep all employees well trained through our program of SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (S.H.I.T). We are trying to give our employees more S.H.I.T than anyone else. If you feel that you do not receive your share of S.H.I.T on the course, please see your supervisor. You will be immediately placed at the top of the S.H.I.T list and our supervisors are especially skilled at seeing you get all the S.H.I.T you can handle. Employees who don’t take their S.H.I.T will be placed in DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROGRAMS (D.E.E.P.S.H.I.T). Those who fail to take D.E.E.P.S.H.I.T seriously will have to go to EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE TRAINING (E.A.T.S.H.I.T). Since our supervisors took S.H.I.T before they were promoted, they don’t have to do S.H.I.T anymore, and are all full of S.H.I.T already. If you are full of S.H.I.T you may be interested in a job teaching others. We can add your name to our BASIC UNDERSTANDING LIST of LEADERS (B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T). For employees who are intending to pursue a career in management and consulting, we will refer you to the department of MANAGERIAL OPERATIONAL RESEARCH EDUCATION (M.O.R.E.S.H.I.T). This course emphasizes how to manage M.O.R.E.S.H.I.T If you have further questions, please direct them to our HEAD OF TEACHING, SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (H.O.T.S.H.I.T). Thank you, BOSS IN GENERAL, SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (B.I.G.S.H.I.T) P.S. Now send this S.H.I.T to 5 people who need S.H.I.T in their life, just not the same person who sent you this S.H.I.T. They have already had their fill of S.H.I.T. Thank you for your time! Sincerely, The Director Under the Main Bureau of Super High Intensity Training. (The D.U.M.B.S.H.I.T). |

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day, the sky is blue, the birds are singing, the lilacs are blooming, and I am not in the family way...ba haha...
What a great weekend it turned out to be. Got the house all cleaned, friends arrived on time...went to see the band...danced my arse off...played pool-well I tried to play pool. We all got up on Sunday and went to brekky. Company went home from there, we went a visited with dad for about an hour then came home and started building the shed. Got is all done except the roof which we plan on finishing tonight. That was a tough day, small cuts on my hands and forearms. Nothing serious. I had a pork loin in the crockpot from about 1 to 6pm. Only thing I seasoned it with was A&W rootbeer. OMGoodness...drained it, pulled it, then added some bbq fixings, talk about some tender BBQ pork. So stinkin good. Packed Curtis's lunch and mine, cleaned the kitchen up and was in bed by 9. Slept like a log. HAPPY...thanks for starting the new thread. Love the picture of the eagle...reminds me of living out in the sticks...we had a couple of eagles that soared over the neighboring woods. Hidee ho's to Patty and Java! Hope your world is rockin' today! Better get my bunz busy. It is Monday and crazy...have a lovely day ladies of the worldlie type. Much love and many hugs. MELLIE...YEAH!! Go Verizon...I have been with verizon cell since 1992...no probs or nuttin. Then we could talk for free....We cold burn up the lines. lol SHADDIE...love the description of the job. I think we must work with the same company somehow. lol. Glad to hear the back is doing better and you are moving freely about. CEEG...glad to hear the water problem is someone else's. Thank God for many favors! LAURA....you are always so busy and on the go...Glad you had a good time with your friend...did you dance your arse off like I did? lol Airfare is getting rediculously high. Even the purchase 180 days out, flying by night with no radar in a rain storm is too high for me. lol CHELLE...don't forget to come up for air and breathe. Hope you did work the entire weekend and took at least 30 minutes for some Chelle time. How is DH feeling? |
MELLIE...YOU LITTLE SNEAKER INNER SISTER! Hope you day is as beautiful as you! Love youse

Happy - Thanks for setting up the new thread! I love the title.
Annie - I took a couple naps and watched some good TV during my busy weekend, so yes, there was a little Chelle time. DH and I had a very quiet anniversary (17 years) yesterday. He really was having a bad breathing day and was very tired/weak...so he slept most of the day, and I fixed him a nice dinner and made him cookies. I got my hair trimmed and colored (to cover the gray and make me a little blonder) on Saturday. I also ran a lot of errands while on that side of town, and then did grocery shopping and more errands on the way home. By the time I got home at 3 pm, I was ready for a nap. I didn't wake up 'till 5:30. Such was the story of my whole weekend. On Sunday, I got up early to get a fast start on my long to do list...and by 11 am, I was really tired, so I layed down and watched some DVRed shows. Then after relaxing for an hour or so, I checked some more stuff on my list, and rested from 3 until 5...then by 6 pm, I finished the remaining item...some website work. I still have SO much to do to get ready for DMIL's arrival at the end of the month, but at least next weekend will be a bit longer as we get Friday afternoon off. I'd better go...I'm super busy with both projects, and critical deadlines are looming. Someday, I'll be able to do personals. I feel like such an awful and neglectful Worldly. I think of y'all all the time...and am sending hugs and healing to all of you. Love and hugs to you all, |
Good morning girls,
Happy Monday - new start to the week. It's finally sunny outside which is great. It's in the low 50's but the sun will make it feel warmer than it is and it will be enjoyable to get outside. We went out for lunch and a drive yesterday, enjoyed them both. Back to housework today. Michelle - I know you have so very much to do but I imagine your body wants a whole down day instead of bits and pieces. I'm glad you got some rest time in. Don't let things overwhelm you. Sounds like work is non-stop go go go too. Which is good, but exhausting. I worry that you might wind up next to DH in the sick bed. Take care of yourself girlfriend  Laura - sounds like you had a nice weekend. It's crazy with the airfares, isn't it? I don't think the airlines ever recovered from losing all the business travellers which really hurt the casual traveller too. And it's such a hassle to fly now, most people I know would rather avoid it if they can. Driving is not an option for you so I hope you can find something reasonable to visit with your Mum. Mel - hmmmm 3 and a half quarts is too small for a crock pot? After all you are cooking for 1  I have a bigger crock but I find that I tend to fill it up and I make too much even using the freezer for leftovers. Unless of course you, Jen and Ritchie are taking turns cooking. I'm sorry I don't remember the grandson passing. :?: Guess I am losing it. Palm Sunday - must mean Easter is next week. My how the time is flying. I haven't had palms in forever, I remember my Mom placing them behind the crucifix on the wall in the bedroom. She was particular about what palms she selected  and generally had a comment about people who took too many  Thanks for the memory and the smile :) Shad - loved your memo to employees. I saw that years ago but it still brings a laugh or two because it's so true and relavent. Your eagle sounds amazing. I guess the first time it uses the car as a flight assistant it would be quite startling. You have such interesting things to see on your side of the world. I imagine the States are somewhat boring - particularly the cities. But we will suck you back over one more time, won't we? Patty - good to hear you have a work out plan. Sometimes it just takes getting frustrated enough to get motivated. Good luck. Java - did you take up tennis or just referring to some new sneakers/gym shoes/keds? Did you find what you wanted? My sister was raving about these new shoes GoWalk by Sketchers. They are light as a feather, and very hard to find. I did snag a pair but they have absolutely no support at all and my foot flops over in them - after a couple of wearings I'm sure they'd look goofy and I can tell they'd cause foot pain from lack of support. They are good for people who like flip flops and have young, good, feet (at least for now) Annie - sounds like you had your usual busy weekend. Glad it's sunshiney and you are feeling good today. Rootbeer in the crock pot? That's really interesting - will have to give it a try. I suppose with a sweet based bbq sauce you'd never know the difference. Thanks for the idea! Ceejay - glad to hear momma bird is back to nesting again. I hope no one disturbs the nest. Keep us posted. I hear it's getting hot down your way. Ok, I spent enough time here. I need to get a bunch of little things done so that I can go finish them off tomorrow (take big bedding to laundromat, stop at the post office and mail some things out, pick up a few things at the store). I'm glad it's sunny out - always feel more motivated. DH said he smelled a skunk through the open window last night - I hope we don't have one roaming around under the deck trying to build a home. Anyway - have a good one ladies. |
Happy
It's perfect weather for me. I love the 70 to 85 degree range, and basically this is what is has been. 60's at night. Perfect sleeping weather. Mel I have a small crock pot. I need to get it out and use it. Annie The pork loin sounds great. Hadn't thought about puttin A % W on meat. That's more of an ice cream float for me. I've been wanting some BBQ sandwiches. to all the rest  -------- It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Brought my camera today to work and made a picture of the egg and nest. Frightened momma bird again. They have the filter back on line and it's behaving itself. I need to go downstairs and clean up their mess. |
Morning all,
Seems like it is going to be a slow day today. Not a lot to do really. I should just enjoy the feeling shouldn't I? It won't last. Never does. Might go out and do some shopping at lunch time. Mel - glad that you had a good weekend and no alarms. Makes all the effort worth it. Maybe with you and me having quiet times at work and Happy settling into retirement, the others will follow suit with a quiet calm time as well. A mellow May maybe???? Didn't manage to wreck three in a row yesterday but I tried hard. And no they didn't send me home. Annie - so pleased you are not in the family way. Can't take more than one pregnancy at a time. Please refrain until after August. Howdy Laura - busy as usual I see. Michelle - it's enough if you poke your head in once in a while to let us know how you are going. Hope things settle down shortly to allow you to get rest and relaxation - as opposed to Annie's recreation and not being pregnant. Happy - I'd love to see a bald eagle in flight or even a couple of them soaring together. There are interesting things to see in any part of the world. Even the desert can be beautiful in the moonlight. However I prefer to stay away from cities. A day jaunt to a big busy city like New York is enough to last me a couple of years. There may be places where your eagles have learnt to borrow the lift from cars on the road. Certainly is a wonderful sight. If you ever got over here, then I would take you to a place where the birds are not in captivity but for vary reasons can not or will not fly away. They are free to go if they wish. It's the best way to see our bird predators and you can even put the glove on and have a go at feeding them if you wish. My niece did that some years back. But then if it is an animal, she will have a go at anything. And yes, I will be back 1 more time and soon. Ceejay - I too need to get the crock pot out. Haven't used it in years. Time I got back to it. I used to use it all the time. Okay - I had better get back to it and sort out some bits and pieces and muster an argument for not relying on powerpoint presentations for training. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk. See you all |
Hi everyone....
Just popping in during one of the rare free moments. Well, I really should be heading to the loo, but I'll hold it so I can say hi to my BFFs! I'm really trying to take care of myself, by relaxing in the evening after work and only doing what's absolutely necessary. I'm waking up tired, which is frustrating, but it's nothing a good brekky, coffee, and vitamins won't fix. We get 1/2 day off on Friday! Yay!! I'm so looking forward to it! :beach: Oh and btw, I use my crockpot nearly once a week. I love to make roasts in it. They come out so juicy and tender...and it's a really easy dinner. Get it going in the morning and then by the time evening rolls around and I'm too exhausted to cook...I'm thrilled because all the cooking is done! Anyway, gotta get a move on to the next thing on my to do list. Much love and many hugs, |
Ba HAHA....nope not preggers...I've been burned, fried, tied, cut, clipped, and sealed....no chance here of getting in the family way. It would have to be the immaculent conception....lololol.
Well we got the shed done...all but the floor in. The neighbor across the pond came over and helped finish the roof. I offered up my delish BBQ pork, but he had already eaten so he said he would take some to go...how funny is that. I packed him up some goodies. Started eating cinnamon apple oats for breakfast for the last couple of weeks, not only are they yummy but also filling. I am not even hungry when it comes time for lunch. Of course, everyone is having BBQ pork for lunch this week and I even brought some for a few of my co-workers that we all share our food. Today is another beauty of a day. 80 deg, sunshiney. Then it drops to the 60s for several days. I will take 60 over 20 any day. I am getting the bug to get out and do some planting but don't want to start too soon for fear of bad weather. SHADDIE.....no worries on the preggers thing. NONE at all...lol. It is not good at all when you are not really busy, somehow you create trouble for others for not following your training manual...lol..What cha gonna shop for at lunch? CEEG....keep bugging that momma bird and she might take a dive at you. Be careful. The BBQ is absolutely delish. HAPPY...eewww a skunk. Nothing smells as bad at that and it doesn't go away very quickly either. Kind of reminds me of limburger cheese my dad eats on bread with a thick slab of onion and mustard. GROSS AND DISGUSTING. CHELLE...don't forget to come up for air and give us a shout...no worries on the personals. LAURA....Sounds like you need to come up for air also. Don't work too hard. MELLIE...my crockpot is about 20 years old and the handle broke off this last time I used it so I am thinking a new one is in store for me. Food is so good in the crock, especially meat, so tender. Hello to all the lurkers and occasional posters, love hearing from ya's. Much love and many hugs. |
CHELLE..you are the sneaker inner today, yes it is a good feeling to come home to dinner already made up. Kind of eases the evening work pain. Take care of you and have a wonderful day sister....hugs
|

Morning all.
Mel - Don't work too hard and enjoy your visit w/ John. Shad- enjoy the down time while you have it! Michelle - Glad you're taking advantage of your spare moments to take a breather. I need to get my crock pot back in service again. What kind of roasts do you cook in there? Annie- mmmm, BBQ. Glad the shed project is going well. Happy- did you get all the bedding done? Lol re your mom and the palms. :D Ceejay- sounds like you're enjoying some nice weather. Be careful hanging around that nest...don't want momma bird getting angry! Hello Patty, any exercise going on? Hi Mary!! -- On the train & hopefully can post this w/o losing it! Too many things due early this week, and I stupidly set up a training session this morning. Aaaargh. I'll get through it, just hope nothing hits the floor with all this juggling. |
Laura - I normally cook either beef chuck roasts...or preferably beef rump roasts, round roasts or sirloin roasts...though unless I'm super lazy...I often do sirloin roasts in the oven as they don't need the tenderizing the others sometimes do. I also try and cook the roasts on the low setting, I find it gets them more tender and flavorful. But sometimes, I'll cook them for an hour or two on high and then 4 to 5 hours on low.

Hey everyone -
Happy Hump Day! I'm so glad it's Wednesday. I can't even begin to tell you. I just have to get through today, tomorrow and 1/2 day on Friday. Wooo Hooo!! DH is getting a little better. He still gets winded and tired easily, but when he's up and around, his oxygen stays above 90...not great...but an improvement over what it has been. I'm even "letting" him drive (short distances). The doc said he could drive once he got off the super pain meds (which was a week ago)..but his oxygen was still a little low...so I wanted to wait until he was sure there would be no passing out. Yesterday, he drove to the voting place, and to the grocery store to pick up a couple things. I asked if he felt up to running an errand today that was 1/2 hour drive each way...he said he doesn't feel comfortable driving that far yet. No worries. I'll run the errand on my way home. He finished our taxes and e-filed them, and we're getting a refund! :woohoo: That will help with the bills that have been piling up. :) **************** Annie - I kept forgetting to tell you how THRILLED Packer nation is to have Jeff Saturday. We lost a good Center, and got a Pro-Bowl Center! We're all surprised he didn't follow Peyton Manning to Denver...but we're really optimistic that he'll be a great addition to the Offensive Line both in run blocking and pass protection. :D  Shad - So glad to hear you get to work from home today. That is what your FB status said, right? Now that I'm on this additional project my work from home days are "paused" for awhile as I have to be on-site to coordinate defect resolution. Mellie - I don't blame you one bit for postponing your doc appointment. I am trying to get all my website meetings, chores, etc. done prior to Friday so that I can enjoy 2 and 1/2 days of rest and relaxation (or as close to that as possible). A holiday for you (and my DH) without a doctor, nurse or hospital would be fantastic! Of course, DH does have a doc appointment on Friday for a pulmonary function test...whatever that is. I'm driving him to that just in case it's too taxing for him to drive home. But at least the test is at the clinic next to the hospital...less than 5 minutes from home. I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing day and upcoming weekend. Happy - Are you enjoying springtime up north (despite the skunk and other undesirable critters)? I mean, there are plenty of really good critters too, right? Ceejay - I love seeing birds (and their babies) in a nest. For several years, we had a bird that built a nest on top of the porch light fixture by the front door. We normally use the garage to come in and out of the house rather than the front door, so they felt safe. No nest there this year though. But maybe they're using one of the birdhouses we have around the yard. Laura - How did your training go yesterday? How are you doing with all the juggling? I'm trying to juggle many things right now too...and hoping nothing hits the floor (or the fan). Okay....gotta go prep for a meeting. Much love to all, |
Quick hello. Luckily one meeting didn't happen this morning which gave me a chance to finish something I was being hounded for. Finished my prelim quarterly schedules yesterday. Have a quarterly meeting in 30 min. - might need to revise one of the schedules after that one.
One more major project open that's just waiting on more last little thing - I'll have to be a pest to try and get it. I'd really like to get this last thing done, because one way or another I'm going to take the day off tomorrow...not the best week, but too bad. Okay, time to be a pest. TTFN! |
Morning chicks.
Nothing new, and not very talkative this week. I've been busy. |
Hi everyone -
DH has an appointment with the pulmonologist today. By yesterday afternoon, he was getting VERY congested in his lungs, and he was up most of the night coughing and struggling to breathe. He thinks maybe he should go on the antifungal meds again. We'll see what the doc says. Lots to get done today. I was hoping to jump out of bed early and get to work by 5...but I kept hitting the snooze button and got here at 6:15 instead, which is still early compared to my official starting time of 7 am, but late when put in perspective of all I need to do today. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Here's to a lovely Easter weekend for all of us (though I have to work 1/2 day on Good Friday). Much love, |
CHELLE...hope things go well for DH...I sent you something in the mail...check it out.
Hope everyone has a marvelously wonderful Easter! Don't eat too much candy..well none at all would be perfect. Love and hugs. |
Hi all,
Sorry I did not post - I started to and then got distracted which is the story of my life recently. Yesterday we went to the nature museum for an interesting seminar on landscaping for attracting birds. And I did some shopping at Walmart. Today I have to figure out why my medication that cost me $100 in December now costs $557 :yikes: Same insurance, not sure what the glitch is. Michelle - I feel so badly for poor DH - this has got to be depressing for him. I appreciate my lungs much more now - a little sinus cough is nothing compared to what that poor guy is dealing with. Hope he gets something to help him. Annie - no Easter candy here. Except 1 small bag of Easter foil covered Reese's peanut butter cups that DH and I shared. Haven't colored eggs in ages. Are you cooking Easter dinner? Ceejay - busy is good - do you have storms headed out your way today? Laura - hope you get what you need to done at work so you can have a bit of a longer weekend. Mel - good thing you like hard boiled eggs. Are you and Jen making Easter eggs for you? Some traditions die hard. But the basket looks so cute. Shad - did you get all your doco done yesterday? Hi Patty and Java  Sorry to be so short - the day is getting away from me. I will try and get back later to post a nice pic DH got of a wild turkey and a deer in our yard having a show down. |
Annie - I got the card and the supplements inside. Thank you so much, sista!
Happy - $557??? A $450 increase??? That's insane!! Maybe I should work until I keel over so I can afford my prescriptions. I love peanut butter cups...a local frozen custard place had peanut butter cup frozen custard the other day. Peanut butter flavored custard with swirls of chocolate and little peanut butter cups mixed in. It was SO YUMMY!! Can't wait to see the critter pictures. |
