GOOD MORNING EVERYONE:coffee:
TODAY IS A WORK DAY. GUESS THE LOVE OF THE JOB WOKE ME BEFORE 5:30. I AM WASHED, DRESSED AND READY TO GO BUT THE OFFICE DOESN'T OPEN TILL 9:00! YESTERDAY WAS QUIET WITH ONLY ONE MORE FALSE ALARM. ANOTHER GRANDCHILD. THE COP TOLD HER TO TELL THE CHILD NO MORE!! SOMETIMES I THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE A MEETING IN THE BLDG AND LET THE TENANTS KNOW THAT THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE. BUT WHO AM I TO SAY. AFTER ALL THEY'RE 100 VOTERS. GOD FORBID WE SHOULD ANGER THEM. :faint: ALL IS WELL IN MY CORNER OF THE WORLD. HOPE IT IS IN YOURS.:moped: HAPPY........AFTER I POSTED YESTERDAY AND SAW AOL'S HOMEPAGE IT WAS DEPRESSING. NO GOOD NEWS ANYMORE. ALL HORROR STORIES:cry: GLAD DH MADE IT BACK AND YOU ARE TOGETHER AGAIN  MAYBE YOU AND HE CAN HAVE A PETTING ZOO WITH THE TURKEYS!!:turkey: IT CAN BE PART OF THE INCOME FOR THE COMMUNE!!! CEEJAY.....THAT WAS GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE TIRE. RICHIE KEEPS PICKING UP NAILS ALL THE TIME. TOLD HIM HE'S A MAGNET!! SOUNDS LIKE YOUR WEEKEND WAS FILLED WITH COUSIN SIGHTINGS!! HOW NICE AND EVEN IN THE RESTAURANT!! HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GOOD TIME MEETING UP ALL OVER TOWN!! |
Good morning kids,
Just having a quick coffee and checking in. It's 65 degrees and dark outside. Can't remember that in a long time. I opened some windows just to get fresh air into the house. At least for an hour or so. Mel you are up, washed, dressed, and posted before I even have both eyes opened! I guess you are the only one in the state if NJ looking forward to going to work today  I was checking out the weather last night and it seems that your area really got innundated with the rain this weekend. Are you boating or swimming? I think you ought to take some of these errant grandbrats and dump them in the Hudson  No wonder they don't want kids in with the after 55 housing. I know what it's like being pushed around by the owners / voters. We got bullied like that at the Financial Exchange. Every time we tried to set rules the membership (EF Huttons, Merrill Lynches, etc) would be :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: if you don't let us have our way we are going to take our business to NYC. Ok, ok already so GO. Don't let the door crack you on the kiester on the way out! What can I say - we are still here and they are not so there :p  Ok, if no one is here then that means I have time to fold the batch of clothes finishing up in the dryer. See y'all later. |
Morning everyone
Mel I was up by 5.30 also but I have to be at work by 7 a.m. It's going to be a long day. Happy I was shocked by the cooler temps this morning. We had some fog also. I'm hoping this means fall is around the corner. My boss has brought some paper work so I guess I need to get started. |
Good Monday Morning to Everyone...big Michigan bosses do not get here til Wednesday afternoon this week. Oh I can hardly wait...NOT.
The tragedy at the IN State Fair has us all saddened around here. There was a public memorial service at the free stage at the fair this morning at 9:00 am. 5 people killed and many in ICU. SO sad. Finally got to see Harry Potter yesterday. I really liked it. Once it got going, it was pretty action packed. My brother's band once again ROCKED the house Saturday night. THey are on FB if you wanna listen to some of their jam under Six Figures Band. Took a 1 1/2 mile walk in a beautiful park yesterday, the weather was actually nice and it was mind refreshing. No personals right now, gearing up for meetings end of week. Get wells to all those who need it physically and also those of us (me) who need it mentally. May the force of 10 women be with you all today.... Loves and Hugs |
Morning all.
Happy - Good to hear dh is safely home. Now you two can keep each other from getting too stressed out! Sorry you can't work it out with the stylist's schedule. What a nice problem for her to have!! Good luck finding a new person to handle your hair. Okay, that statement sounded sort of funny. Sort of like the radio ad I heard this morning for a dentist doing a new type of gum surgery - the patient extolling his virtues said she no longer had "deep pockets", LOL. Guess her dental insurance didn't cover all of the cost... :lol3: Enjoy your class today - or at least make sure you stay awake!! :coffee2: Mel - Glad it was a quiet weekend for you. Don't the responders to these alarms charge a fee if it was a false alarm?? I guess that would really tick off the residents..er, voters... Have a good day! Ceejay - Glad the tire wasn't damaged by the nail. So nice running into family members when you were out and about over the weekend. Fog huh? Annie - Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Very sad about the state fair tragedy. :( The book club members are telling me the Harry Potter books are really good, even if wizardry and spells, etc aren't my thing. Maybe I'll read them someday. Followed by watching the movies, of course. Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies! My weekend was fine. I took a zyrtec pill Friday afternoon and right after I walked the dog (several hours later) it finally seemed like it kicked in and I was sooo sleepy. :dz: So I postponed the brownies and fell asleep early in front of the tv. Saturday morning I made the brownies and then I was off to book club. Four of us ended up making the drive together. We got stuck in heavy rain both ways, wouldn't you know it. Still better to go in warm weather than cold/snow/ice. Since the author is a friend of the member/host, we couldn't just come out and say we absolutely loathed the book, but we definitely provided our "constructive criticism". :D We did get the background on the author and it's scary to think that writing a murder mystery novel was actually a cathartic process for her. What if she didn't have that outlet??!! I might be proposing a new rule for our book club - well, I guess this would be our first rule, hahaha - no one can personally know the author of the book they recommend. Or there has to be a "no holding back" understanding when it comes to discussing the book. The rest of the weekend was ho-hum. Sunday morning & early afternoon was rather lazy, and then bf and I went to Ikea. He wanted to eat some Swedish meatballs. Of course with the new catalog just coming out and kids going back to college, it was a zoo. But after we ate, we ended up in the area where they have the TV stands. We're still trying to find a replacement that will work with our TV and our chosen spot for the tv. That particular spot includes a heat/AC register that would be blocked by 99.99% of the tv stands/cabinets on the market, so we have to configure one to have an opening to allow the heat/ac to pass through. And while Ikea might not be known for its fine furniture, their stuff can be configured almost any way you want. We didn't buy anything yet, but I'd like to get back there soon and get this taken care of because the other alternative was having the tv mounted over the fireplace, and I HATE that idea. I watched the dvd "Country Strong" w/ Gwineth Paltrow and Tim McGraw last night. It was just so-so. Predictable. My hamstring is still very sore, so my only exercise was dog walks Fri, Sat & Sun. Not sure about exercise tonight. The new guy started today and our group will do lunch. I still miss the previous manager, but oh well, I'll get over it. I'm sure he'll bring a lot to the table. New dynamic, etc. :blah: :blah: :blah: Other than that, it's nice that the weather has been cooler. :) Oh, meant to say that I opened the electric bill the other day and was pleasantly surprised that the bill was only $108. With all that heat and running AC 24/7, I thought it would be twice as much. It was fun faking out bf pretending it was so bad, haha. But I'm somewhat pessimistic and think this is short-lived. ComEd doesn't know what it's doing most of the time and even though the readings on the bill both state "actual" - who knows? But bf said they've been coming and physically doing the readings...we'll see what next month's bill shows. :crossed: That's it for me! TTFN. |
:cofdate: GOOD MORNING CHICKS
THESE DARK DAYS ARE KEEPING ME YAWNING. :faint: ONE MINUTE IS FULL SUN AND THE OTHER NIGHT TIME. WE'VE GOT PLENTY OF WATER FOR ALL THE DROUGHTS AROUND THE WORLD TOO. YESTERDAY WENT BY FAST AND I LEFT EARLY. JUST TOO SLEEPY. MAYBE TAKE TODAY OFF AND WORK TOMORROW. 2 BOSSES WON'T BE IN THEN. GOOD DAY TO GET STTUFF DONE UNINTERRUPTED. THE GOVT IS TRYING TO FORCE ALL OF US POOR PEEPS INTO AN HMO. THEY GAVE US 3 CHOICES. NONE OF WHICH MY DRS LIKE. :lol3: THIS FIGURES. OVER THE WEEKEND I BETTER LOOK INTO IT. DECISIONS NEED TO BE MADE BY MID SEPT OR THEY CHOOSE ONE FOR YOU:yikes: NOTHING ELSE IS NEW SO I AM OFF TO BEGIN THE DAY :moped: HAPPY......I HAVE BEEN MORE VOCAL WITH THE SENIORS AND THINGS SEEM TO BE CHANGING FOR THE BETTER. BUT IT IS A PAINFULLY SLOW PROCESS DUE TO ME HAVING THE BE "MANNERLY" ABOUT IT:rofl:  AFTER ALL....THERE IS JUST SO MANY TIMES I CAN SAY FOOK IN ONE SENTENCE!! BETWEEN THEM AND THE LARGE CORPORATIONS, IT'S LIKE BEING HELD HOSTAGE OR FOREVER FEELING LIKE A FOOKING "CRUISE DIRECTOR". THAT'S WHAT JOHN CALLS ME. LOL HOPE YOUR DAY WAS A GOOD ONE:hug: CEEJAY....WE COULD HAVE HAD OUR MORNING COFFEE TOGETHER:coffee: HOPE THE PAPERWORK WAS LIGHT AND EASY!!:write: ANNIE......THE IN TRAGEDY WAS SO TERRIBLE. I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT. CAN IMAGINE WHAT A HORRIBLE SHOCK AND LOSS IT WAS. OUR THOUGHTS & PRAYERS ARE WITH ALL OF YOU. THE WALK SOUNDED NICE AND HOPE THE END OF WEEK MEETINGS GO WELL. MAY THE FORCE OF 20 WOMEN BE WITH YOU THIS WEEK AND GOOD THOUGHTS FOR THE HEAD MIND AS WELL :yoga: LAURA......HOPE YOU DO GET THE RULE PASSED FOR THE BOOK CLUB. GOOD IDEA CAUSE IT MADE IT SO HARD ON YOU ALL TO CRITICIZE. WTF!!! SCARY THOUGHT INDEED ON THE CATHARTIC WRITING!!!:yikes: DANG!! JUST GLAD YOU GOTH THERE & BACK IN THE RAIN SAFE AND SOUND. HOPE THE HAMMY FEELS BETTER TOO:hug: NO JUMPING AROUND FOR YOU THIS WEEK AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW MANAGER!!! |
Good morning chicks,
It's going to be an ugly day at work today I think. I am trying to keep things in perspective. I did not create this situation. *deep breaths* Class was good. It was nice to have the mind challenged for a change. Guess today is not the day to ask for the software that goes along with the class I took. :dunno: Poor DH is really sick from his new medicine. It's not really controlling the blood pressure - he actually went to the emergency room at the hospital yesterday. It was high but not in the 200's they usually hospitalize one for. They wanted to keep him over night to observe but he had driven me to the class and knew I had no way to get home. This morning I found him in the other bedroom. One of the things the b/p med helps control is terrible migraines for him. Any time they mess with his medicine he gets a bad one. I covered him with a blanket and got him some ice packs for his head. The grass hasn't been mowed in 2 weeks and needs to be tended to. No doubt that is on his mind and he will try and get up although I can help out when I get home tonight. I'm just worried about him... Michelle - I saw your note on FB about how sick you and hubby are. Poor guys - wish I could send you some tea, toast and soup to feel better :grouphug: Just take care of each other and get your rest. I hope DH does not have to go to work :yikes: Be careful with that bronchitis yourself. Mel - Captain Mellie - where are we sailing today? I can get used to saying take me away Captain Mel :D I giggle at the idea of you herding the seniors fooking under your breath :lol3: Thanks for the smile today. I am noticing the days getting shorter myself  Laura - you were up in Rockford the same time as my DH - he talked about the bad storms up that way. Seems like a rough ride just to discuss a book you had to tiptoe around. I agree it was rather cheezy of the host to discuss her friend's book - makes for an awkward situation. Next meeting perhaps you all write a composition in those black and white spotted books :write: How I Spend The Summer of 2011 and discuss  It's getting late - guess I have to drag myself into work for my beating... :sigh: Will try and catch up with the rest later. Love to the chicks... |
Laura
I really hate driving in those hard rains. Hope the hamstring gets well soon I've been thinking about watching some Harry Potter. I'm not fond of the witch craft etc, though. Happy Hope the dh feels better today. Don't you love drama at work. Sometimes we have to grin and bare it. You'll do fine. Annie Did you get that report done? Mel Are you going back to work today? -------------------------------------------- I could get used to these cool mornings and low humidity in the afternoon, but the hot is suppose to return this week end. |
Morning all.
Mel - Maybe the shorter days are why I keep hitting the snooze button on the alarm! Sorry none of the insurance plan choices are any good. Happy - Sorry dh continues to have the bp med problems and the side effects!! I hope today at work isn't ugly as you are predicting. Keep your eyes on the prize! Ceejay - I'm not into the science fiction/fantasy category of books myself, but I'm told the Harry Potter series is good. I'm sure the movies are entertaining as well. Honestly, if it's well done, I could certainly get sucked into it. Bf has been trying to convince himself that the extreme heat & humidity are now gone for the summer, and as much as I like that thought, I'm not going to count on it. Michelle - haven't been checking FB, but Happy says you and your dh are both sick now - you poor things! I hope you're both resting and starting to feel better. :getwell: Hellos to Shad, Ellen and Annie. Nothing much to report. No exercise, just took doggy for a walk last night. Watched part of Hawaii 5-0 last night - didn't care for it. Then we watched a dvr'd Rizzoli & Isles. It's sort of goofy, but I like it. I think it's based on a series of books, so I'll have to check that out. So many books, so little time... Tonight we're seeing Captain America. I never read any Capt. America comic books, so we'll see. If nothing else, Chris Evans should at least make decent eye candy. |
quick check in....I'm still alive. Still having a little trouble breathing. Trying to work from home for a couple hours today. I've got a doc appt that I need to leave for in an hour. MY doctor is FINALLY back from vacation, and I just want to see him to see if there's anything else I can do (or be on) to help me get over this faster.
DH has pneumonia. Poor guy. He was getting sick over the weekend, but couldn't rest because he had to put in a lot of extra hours for work. Seems to be how he and I roll lately. Lots of working leading to illness and forced rest. Anyway, I'm sending healing   and :getwell: to all those who need it physically or mentally or emotionally. I love you all. |
Morning all,
:hugs: and :grouphugs: for those suffering in one way or another. I've finally managed to get back into the site. Must have been down for maintenance or something. Not much happening around here. We have a public holiday for Ekka as Mel so rightly came up with the other night. It's really the equivalent of a State fair although the Townsville show or the Cairns show might query that. I haven't been in years and don't feel like it again this year. Too many people with too many screaming kids - let me into the bullring! But I am going to do some garden work today - fix a few things, weed a few things - dig a few things - mow a few things. And sit around with coffee and a book a lot. Work carries on. We were more or less told to take today off since it seems we have just about broken the budget. Never ending story that. I have one more week before I am due to travel again and I will be away for around 4 weeks (working days only) and home for the weekends. I'm going to a mine called Moolarben near a place called Mudgee which is somewhere in the middle of New South Wales. Still it is money coming in. I can't complain. Anyway, I had better get on with today before it gets away on me. Coffee first and then some irrigation stuff. |
:cofdate: GOOD MORNING CHICKLETTES.
I WOKE UP LATE TODAY AND NEED TO GET A MOVE ON. I HAD 2 ALARMS LAST NIGHT AND THE LAST ONE ENDED AT ALMOST 2am. BOTH BOSSES OFF TODAY PLUS ANOTHER WOMAN. I DID END UP WORKING A BIT YESTERDAY. THEY ARE SO SHORT HANDED. BUT THEN THEY BROUGHT IT ON THEMSELVES. :faint: TYPICAL. GOT A $20 CASH GIFT YESTERDAY. TRIED TO GIVE IT BACK A FEW TIMES BUT NO DICE. SO THANK YOU MA'AM:hug: AND WITH THE SUN FINALLY COMING OUT IT WAS A GOOD DAY. I BETTER GRAB SOMETHING TO EAT AND GET DRESSED. I HAVE TO OPEN THE OFFICED AND REMOVE ALARMS BEFORE THEY SET THEM OFF! HAVE A SUPER DAY :moped: HAPPY....I THOUGHT OF YOU ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SUN SET IN A DIFFERENT PLACE AND THEN CAME UP THIS MORNING AND MY BEDROOM WAS SO MUCH DARKER  I AM SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE DH. CAN THEY NOT PUT HIM BACK ON THE OLD MEDS?? JUST WHAT HE NEEDS NOW....MIGRAINES AND ER TRIPS:hug: SENDING HIM LOTS OF GOOD THOUGHTS. :getwell: DON'T FORGET TO KEEP YOUR "PATIENCE" UNDER CONTROL WITH THIS ADDED STRESS:hug: A HUG FOR YOU TOO. CEEJAY.....IT'S FUNNY HOW OUR WEATHER IS JUST ABOUT THE SAME BUT A DAY APART. WE ARE FINALLY HAVING SOME SUN HERE:sunny: I LOVE THIS COOL TOO. LAURA....HOPE YOU ENJOY THE MOVIE. IT WAS A HUGE BOX OFFICE HIT. I HAVEN'T SEEN MANY TRAILERS FOR IT THOUGH WHEN IT OPENED. EYE CANDY IS SUCH A GOOD THING  MICHELLE.....NOT BEING A "MODERATION" KIND OF PERSON ENDED ME UP IN THE HOSPITAL. NEVER GOING BACK THERE!! SO I AM LEARNING QUICKLY  SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT DH NOW TOO. SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS AND GET WELL WISHES TO YOU BOTH. HOPE THE DR APPT WENT OK ALSO :getwell: http://www.yancoalaustralia.com.au/_...050608-071.jpg SHAD......BELOW IS A PICTURE OF THE GUYS ALL LINED UP AND WAITING TO WELCOME YOU AT MOOLARBEN!! I GOOGLED THE MINE AND FOUND THEM. NOT BAD FOR BEING ONE OF THE ONLY WOMAN THERE!! :belly: HOPE YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD 4 WEEKS. GUESS IT WILL BE TIRING FLYING BACK AND FORTH THOUGH. STAY STRONG AND EAT HEALTHY FOODS. DON'T FORGET THE WATER TABLETS!! http://www.yancoalaustralia.com.au/_...pc5500-048.jpg |
Good morning ladies,
Hump day, garbage day as Annie would say. Wish it was sleep in day ;) A little gray this morning - but maybe it's just the day getting shorter too. Would have loved an extra hour of sleep but it's not to be. Gotta get up and get the trash out. I came home yesterday and helped DH with the lawn. I did several things wrong - our other mower we had in Chicago was much easier to use than this one. He said I helped but I'm not so sure he was just being kind. :^: I planted a couple of flowers I bought this weekend into pots - just trying to spruce the outside up a bit. Giant crash of thunder just now - guess we will get some rain after all. DH's blood pressure finally came down. Doctor said it's a combo of stuff going on in our lives and sleep apnea. He was pushing the sleep apnea for over a year now and DH wasn't having anything of it. He really is a fussy sleeper and we both know he won't be sleeping with any expensive CPAP mask. But I guess something got to him yesterday and he said what the heck, let's give it a try. I guess he had to decide between the cpap mask and the blood pressure medicine that worked but had a side effect of a red blotch that was slowly spreading across his face. Geez, it's really thundering out there now - shaking the house but no rain yet. I avoided a beat down at work - boss has more mood swings than anyone I have ever seen. :D one minute to :rollpin: in less than 5 seconds. I also found out that someone whom I thought was friendly - we always got along great - is actually a little snitch. Goes running to the boss twisting every comment one makes into something it isn't. I guess she's really scared about her own lackluster performance (or perhaps it's a giant ego) and feels she has to throw the fireball at others to divert attention away from herself. Seeing as how she has quite the potty mouth, she draws enough attention without even trying. Anyway suffice to say that we have a strictly professional demeanor going forward. I will no doubt be rewarded for this by being talked about by my co-workers as being "cold", "stiff" and "hard to work with". That is for the few times they actually acknowledge my presence. My coworker sees that she's the next in line for this treatment so we are both making exit plans. It's really sad because once upon a time I remember working hard, having a good time and enjoying my team mates. The backstabbing and sniping was left to the executives. :dunno: Shad - I love how the budget runs out always just as you have barely begun your piece of the work. I like the name Mudgee but I'm sure it's no tourist spa - will have to give us the run down... Michelle - sending you and DH some good healing vibes. Seems like sinus season is starting early and in full force - I'm sure that doesn't help you either. Laura - I think DH is right about the weather - you might get a day or two of heat left but the closer you get to September, the more the days cool down. Less sun, less time to heat up. Has been a crazy weather summer the last 3 years up your way. Ceejay - hot to me is hot enough to warm the pool up and I don't think it's going to get that hot again. I have mixed feelings about it. Of course it's easier to say when you don't have to work in it. Mel - you haven't posted yet. Hope all is well on your side of the slab. Annie - sending you mental strength and the will power and fortitude to handle the bosses this afternoon. Love to the chicks - time for me to get out and brave the storm :rain: |
Good Morning All.....
MELLIE...I think I would unplug or take the batteries out of the alrams. lol....with all the false alarms and rarely need alarms...disarm the alarms woman! CHELLE....you poor things...here is a huge hug for you and DH. Man, you two have had your share of colds and whatnot. Love yuns SHADDIE....hi ho, hi ho, off to work we all go...and you are right...at least there will be $$ coming in. HAPPY....I am sending you much need peace of mind and a stress free day! Hugs. CEEJAY...We have been having wonderful weather for the past 5 or 6 days, but after today, the heat is supposed to return...blah. LAURA....I agree with you on the book club rule...I mean stay in the truck if you can't take the heat..right. Hey to Ellen.. Will try to get back later, this week is nuts here. Loves and Hugs...get wells all the way around!! |
HAPPY...you little sneaker inner you.....sometimes it's best just to keep to ourselves at work, cause you just never know about people. It is sad with the economy and job loss that the work environment has come to snitching and not a fun, friendly place to work. Hugs girlie

Happy
Sigh, you are getting the rain from those clouds that brought us sprinkles. I'm glad that dh is giving the cpap machine a try. I have cousins whose life depend on that. As far a co-workers snitching, I've learned my lesson on that also. I've learned to keep my mouth shut and not to let her get away with some things. for instance trying to cut my vacation short cause she didn't want to work. Annie Have a good day Michelle yikes on both you and your dh being sick. get well soon Shad Glad to know that I was not the only person who had trouble getting onto the sight. Your day sounds good. ----------- Tomorrow I'm going to a district water meeting in Jonesboro. Seems like I'm always going to that city Found out yesterday that my nephew was involved in an accident when the truck he was driving and the tire blew out. He was in a company truck. He has a concussion (sp) but was released. This is about it. |
Mel
Ugh on those 2 a.m. alarms. I've noticed our day's begining to get shorter also. I'm not ready for winter yet but am enjoying these cooler day's. |
Morning all.
Michelle – Hope the doc can help you get over this bronchitis. And I hope poor dh is on the mend. Take care! Shad – Re the fair – I totally get not wanting to be in the crowds with the unruly children. Of course listening to bf complain about that is almost as bad as the crowds/kids themselves and just makes it worse. Re the travel - at least you go back home on the weekends. Mel – At least you’re earning that quarterly (?) paycheck. And that tip comes in handy too I'm sure! :D You know what, that movie last night didn’t do it for me - more later. Happy – I hope your dh can adjust to sleeping w/ the cpap mask. My friend has had a very positive experience with it – like night and day in terms of the quality of her sleep and her energy levels. I’m sorry your work environment has become so unpleasant. I hope a position opens up elsewhere in the company that’s right for you. Annie – Hope the big bosses aren’t big PITAs this week. Ceejay – Glad your nephew wasn’t more seriously injured because of that tire blowout. That seems like it would be so scary! Hi Ellen!! Well, I went to the movies last night. I was running late, but dang it – there were about 20 people in line for tickets and only ONE employee working the ticket counter! This is a regular thing at this theater and it’s getting very old. Last week I was ticked because it was the same thing (but the line was only about 5 people). Still, I was still ticked, especially because there was a security guard and a manager-type person just standing in the lobby chit-chatting. I didn’t see any manager this week or I would’ve definitely have complained. Instead, I asked the cashier if I could use the ticket machines if I had a discounted ticket. He said no. And then I said/asked “And you’re the only one?” He sheepishly admitted he was (not that it was his fault). So I got back in line and texted my movie pal for which theater number it was. Then I just decided to heck with waiting and I went to the theater! I’m not sure anyone noticed, and nobody was around to take tickets (as usual). I would gladly have purchased a ticket if I didn’t have a 20 minute wait ahead of me. The movie Captain America wasn’t nearly as enjoyable for me as the two IronMan movies or Thor. It was pretty much ho-hum IMO. And Chris Evans was alright, but not nearly as good being eye candy as the guy from Thor, and not nearly as entertaining as Robert Downey Jr. Maybe that serves me right for sneaking in, LOL. And no, I didn’t buy a ticket after the movie ended. Shame on me, but I didn't want to admit I'd snuck in. Hopefully they didn’t catch me on the security camera and won't have me banned from the theater, LOL. Anyway, after the credits rolled, there’s always some short footage giving you a clue about the next movie in the Marvel comics movie series, and that was good. And the next movie, “The Avengers” looks like it could be really good because it’ll have several of the comic book characters in it - including the Thor guy and Robert Downey Jr. But we have to wait until May for that. Boo. Okay, enough babbling. Time to post. TTFN! |
Morning all,
Back at work again. I took a different way into work this morning since I am totally tired of the trains, so I drove to Mowbray Park and came to work in the the ferry. Good stuff at this time of the morning. Might be a different story tonight tho' when I end up in peak traffic for part of the journey home. Had a lovely day yesterday and didn't do very much at all. Bought some vege plants (bell peppers and parsley) and some for pots for the wall - which I haven't built yet. Laura - you naughty person - going to the movies free. However I do understand your frustration with the lack of service. We get that sort of thing here too, long lines at the supermarket, the garden centre, the hardware warehouse. Impossible to find anyone with knowledge. Etc. DON'T get me started. Mel - thanks for looking up Mudgee and Moolarben. I shall see if the guys are still in front of the digger when I get there and let them know you were looking. I agree, lets turn the alarms off and get some sleep - maybe forever. Happy - the lawn will be ready to mow again in a few days time. Tell DH not to be so fussy. I think it is better to have a DH who is feeling okay and calm and not stressing out about a few blades of grass and a weed. Lordy, he might be doing the stress dance and seven bells if he saw my front lawn right now. Michelle - hope you are feeling better today and the DH is on the mend as well. All this togetherness is very well but give up the sharing part of the caring and sharing will you? Annie - the bosses will be gone before you know it. Breathe in, breathe out, it's all fun and the week is nearly done. Is the brothers band playing somewhere close this weekend? Ceejay - Hope the nephew is okay. Better go strike a blow for freedom or what ever. Wish I had another day off. |
By the way - Mudgee is apparently just down the road from Budgee Budgee. Thought you all needed to know that.

WHEREVER DO THEY GET THESE NAMES FROM?? MUST BE FROM THE NATIVES. GLAD YOUR DAY BUYING PLANTS WAS A GOOD ONE. HOPE MANY MORE will FOLLOW!! I'M NOT READY TO GO TO SLEEP FOREVER....OR WAS IT THE ALARMS YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT?? :lol3: :lol3: |
Good morning chicks,
Going to be a very yawny day. I woke up around 4 (so did DH) we both tossed and turned for an hour unaware I think that the other was awake too. He finally went off to the other bedroom just before 5. I was laying there thinking of getting up when I must have dozed off for around 30 minutes. Yesterday I was so sleepy I cracked open a Mountain Dew soda just for the caffeine jolt.I have dumb meetings today and being tired won't help any. DH is going to get fitted for his CPAP mask today. Last night I washed the kitchen cabinets and then we attempted to take some pictures of the rooms in the house. Our newly moved in next door neighbor said he has a friend who is house hunting and wanted to know if we had pictures. Taking pics is not as easy as you think it would be. DH needs a special camera lens that would allow us to take a picture of the entire room. He took some test shots and you'd be surprised how little things make a difference. For example, in one shot of the loo I replaced the half roll of toilet paper with a full roll and it looked better :dunno: I also see through the camera's eye the benefit of "less is more" by removing as much as possible - that means soap dishes, extra pillows, even moved a chair in the room out of the way of the shot. Got to move some packing boxes out of 2 rooms before we can shoot those. It would be unbelieveably blind luck to sell the house without even listing it :crossed: and with no broker fees involved, we could wiggle down on the price too - better for the buyer. But we know that is 99 percent unlikely and a pipe dream, tho it is something rare to smile about. I am still getting chest pains - I think it's the esophogeal reflux acting up from the upset tummy, maybe a little Zanax wouldn't hurt after all, much as I am against taking it. Pool has gotten too cool to swim in at night - it's still in the low 90s during the day and mid 70's at night. Might not be bad on the weekend if you can get in there while the sun is still out to give some warmth. We'll see. Mel - I am having issues with vertigo too - the sinuses are acting up and I'm blaming that. I'll bet with all the wet weather you've been having, it's not helping things. I know what you mean about running out to chase the sun when you can get a ray or two. Poor Jen stuck in a trailer with sullen teens/pre-teens. I'd be going bonkers. Is the weather krappy down by her too? I'm sure the alarm company does not care that they are waking you up in the middle of the night - probably bored people on minimum wage who said "page 9 tells me to place a call when the battery is low and I did my job so there... " Shad - I am loving the names of the towns. Not so sure they would be as fun to live in as their names, but so different from our boring names and fun to roll off the tongue. Sure would be enjoyable to take a trip out your way but it would have to be at least a month long and neither of us could afford that! Has travelling by air become as much of a hassle out your way as it is here? Or are you packing up the car and driving? Do the butterflies eat your parsley as they do here or do they leave it alone? We can't even grow parsley and dill any more. As soon as the plants grow leaves, the mommas lay the eggs and the caterpillars come out. They eat the plants down in 3 days until there are bare stalks. Then the caterpillars disappear, the plants regenerate and it starts again. I love the term "stress dance and 7 bells" I'm going to use that on DH when we both get frustrated (as happens on a weekly basis) And it wasn't that he needed the lawn perfect - I was just doing some things that needed to be done differently to avoid a problem - like running over the electrical cord he was using :yikes: or not paying attention and lifting the mower over said cord which caused the basket to open and dump grass clippings over what I had just mowed  it was actually comical (to me). But it's all about learning the right technique. I am now qualified to be "pool girl" and lawn girl in training. I see you called the plants bell peppers and not the other term that for the life of me I can't ever pronounce. Capsium??? Laura - bummer on the movie line. I don't understand why the managers don't anticipate the demand and put people where they need to be to work. Probably trying to save money. I'm sure it's difficult because you get surges of folks coming in to buy tickets, get popcorn and then big lulls. Especially on a week night. Too bad the movie wasn't that great. At least you got a bargain on the ticket ;) Ceejay - I'm glad you spoke up for yourself when the coworker was trying to take advantage of you. Whiny people seem to get their way alot. I know several people who said that they got a much much better rest after using the cpap machine - but then again - all of them were gung ho to use it at first and then all fell of the wagon and stopped using it regularly. It's alot of money to waste on something that won't be used more than 3 times. I've noticed too that you seem to be doing alot of driving to Jonesboro. Hope they have a good bakery or something that makes the trip worth while  Annie - did you survive the bosses yesterday? Sending you some stress free magic too. Do you finally have your nights back to yourself again? Are you having CVS withdrawal? Feel the urge to go and rearrange your refrigerator just to stand in a cold area and have your hands chill out? Michelle - hope you are doing a little better today and breathing a little easier. The things we take for granted. I know how much I dreaded getting a cold when I smoked. I imagine it's that same sort of sinking feeling when you feel like you are getting a cold too. Just take it day by day and know we are all sending you good healing thoughts. Hi Ellen  Well it's evening in Shad-land. I think she put the hammer down for the night so I'll pick it up and try to strike a blow for freedom on this side of the pond - as long as I don't doze off and drop the hammer on my foot  Have a good Thursday peeps. |
Morning all.
Shad – Budgee Budgee. Well that sounds better than Mudgee. I hope there isn’t a Sludgee, lol. Or is that where you came out of your boots that one time?? How was your commute home yesterday? Mel – The notification re the alarm batteries is probably some CYA thing – they don’t want to be on the hook for the alarms not going off! LOL, yes I was a different kind of sneaker-inner on movie night! So if you’re into sappy romances then I guess you’ll be tuning right into that new Hallmark channel movie coming out about Prince William and whatshername – I thought it was one I’d already seen part of pre-wedding, but they said it was a premier, so it must be a new one that includes the wedding and honeymoon. I think the leg does feel better today. Happy - Today is a yawn day for me too. I remembered to take a Zyrtec before bed last night and so I woke up groggy, and I'm still groggy. A shower would have helped, but I showered last night after my exercise class so that wasn't necessary (from a cleanliness standpoint, that is). If I didn't keep hitting the snooze button, I might have had time to shower just for the wake-up properties. Sigh. Muscle fatigue doesn't help the matter either. I might be having a second mug of tea this morning. :coffee2: :coffee2: Too funny about the photos - nope, it's not as easy as it looks. But if you end up listing w/ a real estate agent, I wonder if they would even go to the trouble that you did! Hello to the rest of the Worldlies! I didn't mention bf took a freebie vintage yellow Schwinn Traveler off of a moving neighbor's hands the other day and I took it for a short spin yesterday, testing out the gears and brakes. Gears are fine, it was operator error that made the chain go off track about a half block from home. Take it in the garage and turn it upside down to get the chain back in place and rusty water starts coming out of the frame. Eeewww. Did I mention the bike was rusty on the outside too?? :D Bf and I have decided to sell my three "vintage" Scwhinn bikes and buy a nice new cheap Walmart bike to be my commuter bike. Went to the Body Blast class last night. Not a lot of sweat - it's a strength training class, not a cardio class, but my muscles got a good workout. It was probably the best thing for me to do. We didn't do a lot of lower body work this time, and it's not a class with fast routines - the instructor is rather slow and deliberate - so it was less likely I would re-strain my hamstring. Today I leave work a bit early to go to the doctor for a follow up re the water pill I'm taking for my BP. I printed the BP monitor report and am ready. Seems like the top number has gone down some but not the bottom one. After that I will go to another exercise class. That's about it, and we have an all-employee meeting coming up in 15 min., so I'll post and then hit the restroom. TTYL. |
happy
I hope there is good news about the neighbors friends that are house hunting. Mel When you mentioned those batteries and alarms makes me think I need to check those things that have batteries. Speaking of a rainy August, Jonesboro, AR got some rain today but it looks dry here. Laura Hope the doctor's visit goes well tomorrow. I haven't thought about logging my bp on a daily basis, but I should to let the doctor see how it runs. Michelle How are you and dh feeling? Annie Have the "big" bosses been there? Shad The names of those towns/cities are too cute. -------- The water meeting was boring. After that I took my bff to Paragould to the doctor. Now I'm back home and tired. I need to get the office ready for the new Internet Service in the morning. I like the arrangement I have now cause I can see the front door. Hopefully the installer can route it over head from the connection box. |
Hello Hello,
I have an early morning meeting tomorrow - must get up at the crack of dawn to be there on time  I think I will be up before the birds. Posting a bit now as I will barely have time to get a coffee and out the door tomorrow. In fact I am setting out my clothes and making my lunch ahead of time. I had an extremely manic day today. Hit a low point after a morning meeting which was extremely uncomfortable. I am being tormented but there is little I can do. I can't go to HR, I can't complain to anyone and if I show the slightest bit of frustration or sadness, I am labeled badly. It is mental torture. All I will say is that there are a couple of individuals who have some SERIOUSLY BAD karma coming their way. I really don't feel vengeful any more, I know that there is a higher power whose job it is to take care of that stuff and I just have to trust that the universe will respond accordingly. ;) Then I found out about a job opening that I happen to have many years of experience in. I might even have a shot at this. The manager is someone I just met but I really, really like his style. It will not be an easy job but I'm confident in my ability to do it. I was thinking this afternoon about the highs and lows of a job search and there is no guarantee that I will even be considered if someone with enough leverage gets their buddy in front of me but at least it's some hope. For once I have a teeny glimmer of the understanding that all things happen for a reason and sometimes you have to suffer (alot) before you understand. I will take all the good wishes, thoughts and prayers I can get my hands on ladies. If I got this job, I would hold off on the house for a while while we waited out the market and got a chance to save up a little more. DH is on board with this - we will have to see what happens. :crossed: I probably won't know for 2 weeks if I will even get an interview. DH went for his part 2 sleep study and cpap fitting tonight. I'm hoping with this sliver of hope it will take some of the tension off of his shoulders. He didn't sleep very well last night so I'm hoping he can get a good rest tonight although laying in a strange bed with noises and wires and electrodes taped all over you is not exactly conducive to a good rest. Also he is on a diuretic and has to make frequent potty stops which if I remember correctly, he has to call the tech in to "un-plug" him. I'm thinking this will not go well and he will be back home at 3 am tired and cranky, trip the house alarm and scare the crap out of me before I shoot him as an intruder :yikes: He did say that all though he is opposed to this, he does not want to wind up with a stroke or heart attack. My cousin and DH's best buddy have both had several strokes and he sees how their lives are compromised so I'm glad he is getting on the proactive bandwagon. My face is breaking out and I haven't even had the pleasure of eating chocolate. :tantrum: Apparently there is such a thing as stress pimples! Well good heavens Laura - if you keep it up you will soon have your own bike rental business  Somewhere out there is a good bike with your name on it. And a week later it will snow. Do you ride your bike in the snow? A friend I went to high school with lives in my Mom's neighborhood. L works at the library, never learned how to drive and takes her bike everywhere - rain, shine or snow. When the snow gets really deep she walks the several miles back and forth to work. I imagine this is why L still has the body (for the most part) that she did in HS over 30 years ago! I hope you find a good enough commuter bike - not too new or they will steal it! Maybe you should try roller blading - nah - the skates are too heavy to carry on the train. Sounds like the Body Blast class is the perfect compliment to the cardio routines. I know people feel they get more out of the cardio, but it's the muscles that keep burning the calories long after the class is over with. Mel - I hope you get a good rest tonight. No alarms, no phone calls. Just pleasant dreams and a bunch of 20 dollar bills stuffed under your door. Any higher denomination and people would get suspicious. Sending good thoughts to the rest of the Worldlies. Shad is dragging in Friday for the rest of us to enjoy. Time for me to go snatch the cat and bring her in and get ready for bed. If I pop an allergy pill I could be asleep soon. Night all! |
Dragging is right. No inspiration for this Master Data ppt. Death by powerpoint - blurk. Hate it.
No energy, no motivation, I need a life |
Poor Joy  I think you are bored to tears. Need an assignment that gets the creative juices going and makes you feel alive again. If you must go on tour, I hope you at least get a bunch of blokes who are interested in the class and make it fun.

http://th241.photobucket.com/albums/...OPY_TYPING.jpg Good Morning
I JUST WOKE UP FROM A NIGHT OF WEIRD DREAMS. NONE OF WHICH MADE ANY SENSE TO ME. TODAY I AM MEETING UP WITH THE INDIAN GENT I MET MANY YEARS AGO WITH HIS NOW DECEASED WIFE. HE IS VERY "DEMANDING" IN HIS TONE OF VOICE BUT.... HE LOOKS VERY ILL AND THIS YEAR IS HIS LAST VISIT TO THE STATES. ERGO....THE AFTER LUNCH MEET WILL TAKE PLACE. IT'S NOT BAD ENOUGH I HAVE THESE SENIORS...GOTTA DEAL WITH "OUT OF TOWNERS" AS WELL. I MUST REMEMBER NOT TO "IMPORT" ANY NEW RECRUITS TO THIS PLACE!!  WORK WAS OK YESTERDAY....LEFT EARLY AGAIN. :dizzy: BUT I GOT ANOTHER LOAD OF WASH DONE. THE OLD HAMPER IS EMPTY AND TOSSED IN THE RECYCLE AREA. IT WAS PLASTIC, ABOUT 24 YRS OLD & WAS SPLITTING APART. IS IT ANY WONDER? MT. WASHMORE MUST HAVE WEIGHED 100 LBS OR MORE :faint: WE HAD THUNDER STORMS ALL NIGHT. BUT THE SUN PREVAILS THIS A.M.:sunny: THE HEAD OF THE ALARM COMPANY TELLS US THEY HAVE TO TELL A "LIVE BODY" ABOUT THE BATTERIES AFTER THEY TEST THE SYSTEM BETWEEN 1 & 2 AM!!!! I KNEW THAT BUT WE WERE TOLD UPON INSTALLATION THAT IT COULD WAIT TILL 9AM. I SEE THE ERROR IN THAT THOUGHT NOW:cry: OH WELL. LAURA...YOU WERE RIGHT:lol3: :lol3: TIME TO GET A MOVE ON. HAVE GREAT WEEKENDS EVERYONE:moped: HAPPY..........WE WILL BE HOPING & PRAYING FOR AN OPENING TO SHOW UP AND ESPECIALLY FOR THE ONE YOU JUST FOUND. :crossed: PEOPLE LIKE THIS WILL GET THEIR "DUE"....BELIEVE IN THAT. OUR ENTIRE TOWN IS FILLED WITH PEEPS LIKE THIS. IT'S A SMALL TOWN. TERRIBLE. THEIR HAPPINESS IS MADE OF OTHER PEOPLE'S PAIN. JUST KEEP REMEMBERING YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON, DESERVE GOOD THINGS AND STAY STRONG. in the meantime...............I WILL BE PRAYING THE NEIGHBOR'S FRIEND FALLS IN LOVE WITH YOUR HOME. LET HIM SEE THE BEAUTY OF IT AND PICTURE A FUTURE THERE. :yoga: YOU NEED TO BURN SANDALWOOD INSENSE IN THE CORNERS OF THE ROOMS ONE AT A TIME. IT WILL CLEANSE THE HOUSE OF ANY BAD VIBES AND BRING IN GOOD THOUGHTS. YOU CAN WAVE IT AROUND OR JUST SIT IT THERE. DON'T THINK I'M A NUTTER:crazy: HOPE DH FEELS BETTER WITH THE MASK AND THAT YOUR CHEST PAINS GO VERY FAR AWAY!!! SENDING BOTH OF YOU THOUGHTS OF HAOPPINESS THIS WEEKEND AND CALM TOO!! LAURA........HOPE THE DR APPT FOR THE BP IS OK AND YOU ARE TOO. THINK CALM THOUGHTS!!! :yoga: GOOD LUCK WITH THE SCHWINN SALES AND MAY THE MONEY BE GOOD!!!! HAD A LAUGH AT THE RUSTY WATER. HOW THE **** DID IT GET INTO THE FRAME IN THE FIRST PLACE?? IT WILL BE NICE TO HAVE A BIKE YOU LIKE JUST FOR THE COMMUTE. :crossed: I AM STILL LAUGHING AT THE MOVIE NIGHT. AS FOR THE HALLMARK CHANNEL....I WATCH THAT IN SPURTS... EXPECIALLY AROUND CHRISTMAS.....:hohoho: CEEJAY.....HOPE THE INSTALLER CAN DO THE OVERHEAD. THAT'S WHAT I HAD DONE SO I COIULD KEEP MY PC WHERE THE OLD ONE WAS SET UP. HOPE YOUR BFF IS FEELING BETTER NOW. HERE COMES OUR HEATWAVE OR SORTS....YOU TOO??? SHAD.........POOR SHADDIE....SENDING HUGS AND LOVE FOR AN EASIER TIME OF IT:hug:  HOPE YOUR WEEKEND BEGINS WITH LOTS OF "HEAD REST" . PLANT SOME THINGS....IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER!! BUT DON'T DROP ANY WALL BRICKS ON YOUR FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Yikes - where did everyone go? Is it really Saturday and I came to work for nothing?
Mel - if you had a laundry basket for 24 years, I think it would be wicker not plastic. No fooling me. I remember those suckers used to bust up, you would snag clothes and your hands and keep them until the hole got big enough that your clothes would fall out  And I thought you liked the Indian gent. Next time tell them that you want to pick some fun Worldlie chicks  Ok, guess I'll go back to work. If I can stay awake. |
Even though it's Friday I've been busy. Decided that I was going to clean the house. Wasn't that dirty, but I found spots that hasn't been cleaned by the house keeper. I'm really wanting to do it myself again since I'm getting my mo jo back. Only cleaned the living room, kitchen and bathroom. Tomorrow it will be the bedroom and office. Even getting in the mood to cook again.
The West Memphis three was set free today in Jonesboro. I still have mixed feelings about this case. Actually have a window open today. I probably don't need the allergens coming inside but the air is nice for a change. We had a brief shower. Mel The ISP hasn't shown up today but they are supposed to. I called this morning to verfiy. So hopefully before 5 p.m. Didn't realize that burning Sandlewood in the corners would bring good vibes and bring in good thoughts. May have to try that. I've heard of people having their houses etc blessed. Happy, As Mel said people like this will get their payback's. Hope the other job to be yours. Stress brings on a nover load of hormanl activity. Hang in there. Shad  to you also. Laura How did your doctor's visit go? Hello's to Annie and Michelle. Sending Michelle get well wishes. |
Afternoon all.
Ceejay - Can't say I thought a water district meeting would be exciting, so no surprise it was boring. I never read the part of the village newsletter when they report on our water quality... :swim: I need to get back in the mood to do some cooking! Both bf and I have been just horrible about that this summer. :chef: Mel - How did the meeting w/ the Indian gent go? Pleasant enough I hope. Gosh, I don't have a hamper that's 24 years old, but I do have one that's been duct-taped because the handle/rim cracked when I tossed it down the basement stairs, LOL. Hey, it's still perfectly functional! Re the bikes, they're all in the "beater, but restorable" category, so they won't bring much money, but I've seen ads for the walmart bikes for under $100, so the net outlay wouldn't be too much. :bike: Shad - I hope you are out of powerpoint he!! by now. Heck, your weekend's already begun, so I hope you've forgotten about ppt by now. :) Happy - Sounds like your work situation is seriously sucky right now. :( Good to hear there's a position that's right up your alley. Sending you positive thoughts and will do some praying that this job can be yours. So if that were to happen...how long would you be waiting for the housing market to recover? It just seems like it's gonna be a while and you know I'm excited about experiencing your retirement vicariously through you and your dh, LOL. :D You must be fading by now after having to get out of the house early for that meeting. Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies! Missing you all and hoping all is well or quickly getting better!!! My doc appt was okay - we are going another 6 weeks to check my bp again - which will be 8 weeks because my vacay falls in there. It's not awful, so my doc is on the fence, but no changes to the med for now. I will be trying to sit and relax for a few minutes before taking my bp at home to see if that makes a difference in my readings. On this water pill, it seems like the upper number is lower, but the lower one is the same. My AM readings are better than the PM ones. I'll also bring my home bp machine in to the office and see how it compares to what the doc reads. She said "calibration", but I don't think anything will actually be done to the machine. It might just be that if the machine is consistently reading x points higher than she does, we just have to recognize that and take it into account....or maybe she just wants to see me using it to make sure I'm doing it right, hahaha. I also plan to conduct my own test to see what effect there would be on my bp if I restrict my sodium for, say, three days. It'll be a good exercise for me to map out a meal plan for those days, actually FOLLOW it, and see what happens. I lost my exercise motivation after my doc appt, so I slacked off and didn't go to an exercise class last night. Boo on me, but my muscles were fatigued and I was tired. And that's why I don't like back-to-back workout days. Happy, I'm trying to focus on cardio classes at the recplex, but the body blast class was an exception. I would skip cardio completely if I could...but the heart muscle is a pretty important muscle and the lungs are sort of important too, LOL. If I could get away with it, I'd stick solely with strength training - the idea of my muscles burning calories while not even exercising is awesome! Means I could eat more, hahaha. Speaking of eating - dinner was tacos. We tried a different brand tortilla shells (Mission) and they didn't work out. They shrunk significantly when heated and the opening for the fillings was way too narrow! Back to Ortega brand. Picked up the next book club book from the library and 3 other books - all mysteries. I read part of the prologue of the book club book and it seems readable. Hopefully it'll be enjoyable too. :book2: Met w/ the financial guy (from the retirement sessions) today. I'm doing alright, but have to keep saving. He didn't try to sell me anything! Having had a good conversation w/ him about finances and markets and investments, I think I need to broaden my horizons re how I get my personal finance info. Suze Orman is just one woman's viewpoint. Not saying anything bad, just that multiple perspectives are not a bad thing. Okay, tonight we might go to Ikea and pick up the pieces for the tv stand we configured. Hope it's not busy. It's got to be less busy on a Friday night than on a Sat. or Sun. ---- right??? Hoping to finally get out for a bike ride this weekend. I hope all the logistics don't drive me crazy. We will be putting our two bikes on our new car rack and driving to a bike path. I hope bf's fancy bike fits on the rack okay...mine should be okay. Okay, I better get some more work done. This week hasn't felt all that productive even though I've been busy. Hate that. Have a great weekend everyone!! :flow1: |
Have my new internet hooked up and the land lord let the put a jack in the office. Yeah.
|
Morning all,
Better get this done while I drink my coffee otherwise it will never get done. It's like my exercising - doesn't get done first thing, doesn't get done. There is always something to do before I get to it. I have a list of things to do as long as your arm. I am trying to find a cleaner I can trust so I don't have to come home to the dust and grit. Have any of you had any experience with those robot vacuum cleaners? Friend of mine (male - techno geek) loves his and keeps telling me to buy one. I need to know a bit more about them first. CeeJay - glad the landlord came to the party. I guess maybe he values a good tenant or maybe he just thinks it will give him more resale value if he wants to sell at some time. Sorry, did not mean to worry you about that. Laura - I am out of PPt ****, but it awaits me still on Monday. I do wish people would use it to train with. It should be used to make points to which people should refer or use as yardsticks. It's a powerful tool, but too easy to overuse and overuse it we are. Hope the bike ride goes well and you get the exercise in and enjoy your day out. Mel - they all sound demanding, and they are. I do wish they would actually learn from the mistakes made but they are too proud or arrogant to say I don't know. I don't feel too much sympathy for them any more. Hope it all goes well with the lunch. I know the feeling about Mt Washmore and the laundry basket. Mine is relatively new but already I had to through the lid away since it won't sit on the basket when the basket is full. And they only seem to last five minutes if you leave them out in the sun. Seems that Michelle and Annie are either out kicking up their heels or are not well or not happy. Or a combination Happy, I have fingers, toes and any other thing I can cross, crossed for jobs to come and places to move to and things to happen with the neighbours friends. Whichever way it goes, I hope you get some relief from the pressure. Hope DH is feeling better now. You may have to put him on a diet as well. A loss of weight often works for sleep apnea (or however you spell it) Better go. Coffee done and the washing mountains await - yep mountainS. Mount Whitestuff is next to Mount Blackstuff which adjoins Mt WorkingGear and Mt Towel and sheets |
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/t...1a530d5c21.gif Have a great weekend!
 FRIDAY WAS THE DEVIL'S SPAWN:devil: ENUFF SAID. THANK THE GOOD LORD I WAS SAVED AND MADE IT THRU THE DAY. THANK GOD MONDAY JOHN IS COMING BACK. THANK GOD TOO FOR WEEKENDS WHEN THE OFFICE IS CLOSED.:encore: IT WAS LIKE I WAS SECRETLY DUMPED INTO A LUNATIC'S ASYLUM AND COULDN'T ESCAPE. JUST FOR SPITE, I STOLE A BRIGHT BLUE TALL PAPER RECYCLE BIN. THAT'S NOW SCRUBBED AND WILL BE THE NEW HAMPER:dancer: TODAY I HAVE BIG PLANS FOR WASHING MY GRANDMOTHER'S CHINA...OR WHAT'S LEFT OF IT...AND DECIDING IF IT'S WORTH PUTTING ON EBAY. A NEW WOMAN IN THE OFFICE OFFERED TO HELP ME BUT IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF WORK. THEN I NEED TO GET THE APT TIDIED UP AND NOT LET THE LITTLE STUFF MOUNT UP. I AM ON A ROLL AGAIN FOR THE SIMPLE LIFE.:beach: I THINK I MIGHT ACTUALLY ACHIEVE THIS LONG AWAITED GOAL. GOD KNOWS I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THERE FOR LIKE THE LAST MANY YEARS:rofl:  HAVE A GREAT DAY WORLDLY FRIENDS :moped: HAPPY........WISH IT WAS A BAMBOO HAMPER...BUT IT WAS AN OLD RUBBERMAID THING I BOUGHT WHEN I MOVED IN HERE. :lol3: HOPE THE JOB WASN'T TOO MUCH AND YOU HAVE A CALMER WEEKEND. HOW'S THE DH AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW PLANS IF YOU GET THE JOB. :crossed: CEEJAY....A BUDDHIST FRIEND OF MINE USED TO COME TO MY APARTMENT AND "CLEANSE" IT FROM TIME TO TIME WHEN I FELT THE NEED. MAYBE IT WAS ALL PSYCHOLOGICAL BUT I SOMEHOW I AND THE HOUSE FELT CALMER. :yoga: I READ ABOUT THE RELEASE OF THOSE KIDS. I FEEL THE SAME AS YOU. I JUST HOPE TO GOD THEY ARE INNOCENT AND THAT REVENGE ISN'T ON THEIR MINDS NOW. GLAD TO HEAR YOU GOT YOUR MOJO BACK AND HOPE IT GETS STRONGER WITH EACH DAY:hug: GREAT NEWS THAT YOU GOT THE LANDLORD'S PERMISSION TO PUT IT THRU THE WINDOW:cheer3: LAURA....YOUR HAMPER STORY MADE ME LAUGH....MIND HAD DUCT TAPE ALL OVER IT. THINK THERE WAS MORE TAPE THAN HAMPER:rofl:  SPEAKING OF FINANCES AND OUR FUTURES: I HAD A NICE CHAT WITH MY PIGGY BANK AND HE SAID NOT TO OPEN HIM UP ANYMORE!!!:rollpin: THE SALT FREE OR LOOWER DIET SHOULD WORK AND SHOW A BETTER LOWER NUMBER. A LOT OF THE SENIORS HERE HAVE HAD THAT HAPPEN AND ME TOO. SO I WISH YOU LUCK ON THAT....LOWERING SALT IS GOOD FOR ANYONE! BUT JUST WATCH IT WITH EXERCISING. DON'T GO TOO FAR ELIMINATING IT. HOPE YOU BOTH HAVE A GREAT RIDE!!:ebike: SHAD......YOU HAVE A LOT OF FOOKING MOUNTS IN YOUR LAUNDRY AREA:rofl:   THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW. NOT ONLY DO I FEEL BETTER LOOKING AT MY EMPTY SPACE BUT I AM CRACKING UP OVER HERE. GOOD WAY TO BEGIN THE DAY  WHILE PRAYING FOR HAPPY'S HOUSE & JOB, I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU SANITY TILL YOU GET THIS MINING JOB OVER WITH. I WOULD LOVE TO GO WITH YOU AND MEET THE MEN WHO DRIVE ALL THOSE GIGANTIC TRUCKS. I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE THERE AND ACTUALLY "FEEL" THEIR SIZE. THE TRUCKS ....NOT THE MEN:lol3: :lol3: |
Good Saturday morning chickies,
Took my blood pressure this morning. It was 167 / 102. Has been consistently that high. I guess I have to call the doc and get this looked at. I know it is temporary - I just saw her right before my vacation just before all this baloney started and it was in it's typical low normal state. Sitting at home here quietly I guess I have to accept it's running high all the time, not here and there in spurts. I just hope they don't give me a diuretic, I already go to the loo 1,000 times a day. I think part of this is that things are in such a state of flux. If I am fortunate enough to get this other job, I told DH I am making a committment to stay here for possibly 2 years. What should we do with the house? Sell and get rid of it or wait the market out a while? It seems like housing will still be in the toilet for years to come although homes are selling in the area albeit at a reduced price. DH thinks we should try and sell and if we do, we can just rent for the duration of our stay. We would be saving money even if the rent equalled our mortgage payment since we would not have to pay property taxes and our insurance would go way down - less to cover and no extra policy for the swimming pool. We admit this will be stressful for our cat who is used to being outside most of the day. During the few weeks of winter when it gets near freezing and she spends the days in the house she does get stir crazy cabin fever :dizzy: (we also know this is going to be a problem with her up north too where she will have to become an indoor cat just because of the wildlife predators up there). And then, if we are going to stay is there a hurry to pack and empty the house? But as DH says - don't know if I would be considered for the job (although I am very well qualified for a job not many would want) so we need to maintain our primary focus which is selling this house. He rented a truck to take a big load up in a couple of weeks and we already purchased the plane ticket home for him so we are committed to boxing up stuff and getting things ready for him to pack up in a couple of weeks. I think this "not sure of what path to follow" has a lot to do with the internal distress. Maybe the doc will give me some happy pills. I will share with the chicks as we all have our stressors right now. DH came home yesterday morning not #(@#*%# about the cpap mask which was a relief. He said he got a decent sleep too. I guess the hospital will contact the manufacturer and they will order him a unit based on the specs they gathered from his last stay. So today I am going on the 3rd floor storage and box some things up. Tomorrow I will go through our office furniture as we need to take that down and apart and move it out of here. Monday the realtor is coming over with her friend the interior decorator. She will take a look around and suggest some neutral colors for the 5 rooms we have to get painted. Then I suppose we can hire the painter to tear the wallpaper down and start painting some if not all of the rooms. Geez, I'd better get this job - we surely could use the money. Mel - I like your good morning Froggy. Sorry you had such a day with the crazies. Maybe they will settle down for the weekend. I think you need more craft times and some exercise sessions to tire them out - or maybe just a party with Mogan David wine to make them sleepy :hat: Good luck with washing the china. I'm sure there is a market for selling it. I am afraid of newborns and old china - makes me feel like a clumsy oaf  One person at work says that burning sage gets rid of the evil things in the house. I don't think that would be a good option for you tho. I'd rather clean things with Pine-sol  I've seen those gigantic rigs they use in the mines. Can just see you there looking all petite and tiny funning with the miners. They would probably give you and honorary hard hat with your name on it :twirly: (sorry not a good selection of smilies with hats on) :D Shad - I have no experience with a Rhoomba cleaner as I have a mix of tile, hardwood and carpet - mostly carpet. I guess it would be ok if you have all flat hardwood floors although it will probably scare the bejeezus out of poor Sunday :yikes: They say it covers the entire length of the floor in a given time span but if it's anything like the "crawler" cleaner we have in our pool, the thing gets about 80 percent of the bottom and consistently leaves certain areas untouched. I have a nice stick vacumn I love for quick cleaning of the floors - takes me about 10 minutes. I think the key to cleaning is the fly lady method. Keep it as neat as it can be and then do 20 minutes of cleaning a night. I know, much easier said than done eh - especially with a long haired cat in the house. Hope you find a reliable cleaning crew. Ceejay - glad they let you put a jack in the office area - what good is an office if you can't use your phone and computer in it? Are you travelling this weekend? Laura - I'm glad you are planning to live vicariously through me but maybe we both will have to wait a bit  All I can suggest to you as far as retirement goes is to save save save as much as you possibly can. Invest wisely so that your money can grow but not more aggressively than you can stand to lose in a market dip such as we have now. I have mixed feelings about financial planners advice to wait out the markets. We lost a substantial amount in '98 when we were too heavily invested in tech stocks and the tech boom bottomed out. We dumped Apple or was it Microsoft??? after losing half it's value. Now if we would have just sat on the shares we would have had a nice bundle now - expecially with Apple over $300 per share. But when you watch a price go from 150 to 35 - you wonder how long do you wait - especially as each day it goes down you kick yourself for not selling. Anyway my point is that you have time to ride out market dips. And you won't have social security to depend on. Most people I know are cutting spending drastically and saving as much as they can. If not for retirement alone, also the uncertainty of having a long term job. :( Geez I am pontificating here and I beleive I have written a book. Best get off the computer, DH is giving me the stink eye as I need to get busy here. Love to the rest of the chicks, I'll be back to say hi later tonight. Enjoy your weekend. |
Happy
Stress and pain both can make the bp rise. I've had to admit to myself that I have the bp problem and allergies. I'm dealing with those daily by taking my meds. I had an allergy attack earlier this week but the meds have kicked in. I've told myself I can't do with out them. I agree with the Fly Lady method of cleaning. Mel Hope you have a peaceful day. Shad I'm going to dismiss my house cleaner. I thought she would be trust worthy but I think she is spending to much time on the phone. Laura, Annie and Michelle  My major chore has been completed. I've rearranged the living room back to where I had it before. This arrangement is more for conversation. I don't have that many over night guest. Sometime during my sleeping hours the power went off or blinked. The ADT recorder was telling me it needed to be reset. I'd like to go get groceries. I don't need that many. I want to make sure I have enough food for work to last four day's. I had turned out all the lights except my bedroom light last night as I was gettinig ready for bed. The door bell rings. The camera shows that it's the girls down the street. I'm not going to the door after dark. It was 8.45 p.m. They know that. I was riding the bike, but after that I turned out the bedroom light also. They left. |

Hi ladies,
I've been sick in bed for most of the last 2 weeks with bad bronchitis, and even though I'm still very weak and tired I am getting better. DH has had pneumonia for a week too. Both he and I are planning on returning back to work on Monday. Happy - please get to the doc about your bp. With all the stress you're under, it's no wonder it's so high...but please do take care of yourself. I'm keeping you in my prayers that you get the job you want soon. Laura- good for you on the exercising. Shad - I hope work gets better for you. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I just took a nyquil and I'm going back to bed. I'm hoping to be up a little more tomorrow....but I'm not going to push it. Love and hugs, Michelle |
