Angry I am new to here

Well, I have been watching this site on and off for awhile now. I started walking exactly 2weeks ago today and have only missed one maybe two days. I think I may purchase an exercise DVD and add that in a few days a week as well.

I was very athletic in jr. high and sr. high and somewhat in college. I have 2 children ages 4yr and 5months and with this last one I topped out at 210lbs. After giving birth I didn't eat healthy stuff at all and was going through a phase of somekind I guess. Never lost a bit of weight. Then I said enough is enough (not to mention couldn't really find any "tents" to fit me here in Taiwan! land of petite women ) Two weeks ago I got more serious (well after spending over $300US on Herbalife) and started walking and really watching what I ate (the latter one has been harder and not as disciplined). Two weeks ago I was 201.3lbs and today I am 200.2. Ok, not the loss I want, but it's a start.

All that to say, I have been walking 30min a day. I know I should move it up some. I think it's about 1mile. I guess I could walk faster? I think if I increased my exercise that would probably lose more. Any suggestions would be absolutely great. Glad I can join in the fun here.

Taiwan-Welcome to this crazy group!! You are doing wonderful. If you keep up the good work, the weight will fall off by itself. Keep at your own pace, then when you think you can go a little farther, do it!! Stay with us, and we will encourage you. Why not come over to the other board too and join in the postings with everyone??

I am planning to try a jog again today. It is COLD out!! About 45 degrees, I am going to wait until it warms up a bit. I know that is warm to most of you guys, but Whew!!! FREEZING!!

Welcome Taiwan! Great bunch of inspiring women here! Your off to a great start. Keep up the 30 minutes for one week and then maybe you could inrease it by 5 minutes to 35 for the next week./ The week after increase it by another 5 or if you can 10 minutes a day. One other thing that I can't stress enough is that you need to dring 8-10 glasses of water a day! It helps to flush out the fat and toxins.

Shelley cold out there, trade you, I only wish. Isn't it funny how we just get use to our own climates! It would be nice for me there.

Well I am off for my walk, will post later on my total.

Shelly and DEE thanks for the welcome. Actually, tonight I walked an extra 10-15min, and boy am I feeling it. Actually, I tried to jog tonight and that lasted 2minutes and then walking really fast and that lasted maybe 5 and man, were my legs aching. Then I went on with just walking. Tonight I walked with a friend (I usually walk with one of our teenage fosterdaughters, but she was busy with the youth group tonight) and she was so happy. We had a great time walking our 30min. She said she wanted to walk every night:-) I am doing my best to take in 64oz (or 2000cc right?) of water a day. I have today, though the past few days I wasn't. Usually I am pretty good about that though.
So tonight I walked 45min, and did about 1.5miles (though that seems like a long time to do that 1.5miles--am I walking too slow?)

Question, what type of exercise video do you all suggest? or should I say Whose. I am looking for a good one to do when I get a little more weight off as it would kill my knees to do it now (college sports experiences!)

Thanks.

Taiwan-I swear by the Firm videos. I used them for years. You can start with no weights, then gradually start using them. I have all the original volumes. I don't use videos right now, but I know they are there if I want to start again.

Today I was able to jog 5.5 miles!!! I am starting to get back into the swing again. No tummy problem at all. I guess the Prednisone is what I need after all.

Nov. 28-Jogged 5.5 miles
Miles so far- 31

I definitly won't make goal this month, but I won't let it get me down. I am just thankful that I have been able to do what I have done.

Well, today (and yesterday) I worked on abs and thighs and am really feeling it!!! Yesterday I increased my walking to 45min which equals approx. 1.5mi. So if I added up for the week with M-Th beings 1mile each and Fr and Sat 1.5mile each that's: 7miles for the week. Wow! that sounds much better than it feels. The wind was blowing hard tonight. It was at my back one way and blowing against me the other way, so I was working harder. I walk at night after the kids are bathed and quiet and daddy can watch them. Then come back and put them to bed. It doesn't get below freezing here (I walked in shorts and short sleeve tonight!), so weather isn't really a problem here. That was my week. Hope you all had a good one

Good morning all!!! The weather here is beatiful, though as a person from the east coast, I really do miss the snow. Anyway, I did my walking last night. My 14yr old fostertdaughter and I went out. Just the two of us. I think she needed some special one on one time and what a better way to spend it than to go walking.

Well, if we are all setting a goal, I will join in. As a newbie I don't think I should set too much so I am going to to 35miles for the month. I usually walk everyday, so that shouldn't be too hard--shouldn't be being the key word here!!

For my abs and thighs I am doing two days and then off a day. That sounds ok doesn't it? Hey, does anyone do Taebo? or Sweatin to the oldies?ShellyM mentioned the Firm. I am looking for something that really gets me moving.
