  • good morning! i know most of you are already experiencing heat wave, today will be our 90-ish day.

Love how the warmth and humidity pampers my deck plants, though! i go out and admire the pansies, petunias and such. so pretty.

Lady in town almost T-boned me yesterday. She came to a stop sign, I was aleady in the road right in front of her trying to turn, she never looked or saw me and started to go right into me. grrr.! be careful out there.
  • I'm still here
No excuses...just no posts! No cycle riding, and no weight loss either!

Yesterday I took the afternoon off to pay for vinyl flooring and pick up needed supplies for installer guy, get my drivers license updated with our current address, look at beds for our spare room (company coming), and arrange the menu at the restaurant for the rehersal dinner (DS wedding). Nearly a wasted day...DOT not open yesterday, nothing at the furniture store I wanted, and the boss was out at the restaurant...I did pay for the flooring, that I probably could have paid for by phone!! I had a very unnerving day!

It sprinkled about 7 drops of rain so far today. We are badly needing so much more! Hotter than !

Reda, where are you heading for vacation? Sturgis? Wild child! DH and I have a trip to Cozumel planned for November! Seems so far way, and I've never planned so far in the future!

Aaron, you have no idea how important the riders butt comfort is!! I've been in both spots. For sure the drivers spot is much better! On the way back from Arkansas we got an air seat. They are comfortable. DH used it most of the time. It does make you sit quite a bit higher though! I like it better than the gel pads. Good job on your continued weight loss!

Dawn, hope you get the oil leak deal figured out. That is a bummer! You sound so tiny! It's great you were able to fit in your tiny bikini suits! I bet you rock them!

Holly, we will have to watch for you on TV! Awesome! You do so much with your cycle group. Nice that you and they are so active! Your flowers must be doing well to hold up in the heat! Mine are usually dead by now, but I have TRIED to keep them alive this year!

Tammy, hope your jobs aren't getting to be too much. Hang in there.

We have a couple of prospects for a new agent working on getting through the process. Still is going to be next year before anyone is able to take over the agency though. I'm okay with that...more job security for a little while. New agent may not be able to pay 2 employees and the rent too!

The last week in July--next week I need to move our 200 gallon aquarium from the dining room. That will be a job and a half! Most of the fish are BIG, and cant just be put in a bucket while teardown and setup takes place. I need 2 strong men with weak minds to help me get it all moved! The aquarium itself is way too heavy with even just gravel in it. It's 6 feet long, and too high on the stand to reach the bottom. I LOVE the aquarium, but HATE the idea of moving it all

In August we will be getting new countertops and floor in our kitchen, dining and bathroom. I am very anxious for flooring! I LOVE our house, but it has very ulgy flooring! Like orange and green flower type stuff! Ha! I'll have to post a picture of before and after!

In September we have the big wedding, and my 1/2 brother and sister and their families will be staying with us. Still trying to figure out where they will sleep! I'm not fond of giving up MY bed! Hotels are already booked in our little town! (actually in OUR town there is NO hotel! The next town is booked solid!)

Enough for now...I've got you caught up on what I've got going!
  • thanks for the nice update, Colleen! that fish tank sounds fabulous but alot of work. sorry for your unproductive day!

has the weather gotten any better for you all? ours got better today. COOLER and less humid, thank goodness!!!

we have no internet at home so we are at McD's using their wifi right now. we are inbetween internet providers. Hopefully Tuesday!

big news - I won the Miss Crossroads 2011 title yesterday at the Crossroads Motorcycle Rally. Yeah, I went there with the intent to win!! lol I will tell myself 'not bad for a 50 yr old'.

HI to everyone!! will hopefully be back online soon!
  • Hi everyone!

Yesterday I got up in the afternoon to runto the bike shop to order parts for the bike. On Sunday I went for a ride & it was disappointing. She would only stay running if I gave her gas. She hasn't been leaking anymore so I don't know what the deal was that 1 day. Parts should come in a few days then I should be able to fix it this weekend. It sounds like I'll learn how to take the tank off. Francis says to change the carb boot we don't have to but he wants to look at something else that's why we're taking the tank off. I can't remember the name of the other part I ordered but I can see the crack in the tube. I figured since I was at it I would order a new chain for it too. I hope that it all fixes the problem. I do consider myself lucky since I bought her last year I am now just needing to put work into her. Last yr she ran ok after sitting 3 yrs in a garage without being started or anything. I thought I would have had to do some work into her last her before riding her as much as I did.
  • Congratulations Holly that is great and you look for great even for 50 which by the way is NOT old at all

Well vacation is 8 days now - can't wait - Sturgis here we come

Colleen take lots of pics while in Cozumel - Been visiting with our travel agent trying to plan our January trip looks like we may be going back to Cancun but this time going to an Adult Only resort - almost can't wait for that all - inclusive trip either- especially since it is all inclusive

Well we are still in the upper 90's with humidity out of this world - hopefully we get some relief soon but doesn't look like its coming yet

Ok well I have been having internet issues with my computer and DH has not been to willing to share is computer that would still connect but finally tonight I got mine working again - yippeee

But with this it is almost 11 and I need to get to bed so talk to you later

Hi Dawn looks like we were posting at same time- hope you get everything fixed on your bike soon so that you can do some riding
  • Congrats Miss Crossroads 2011 Holly!! 50 is only old if you are my DH!! I tease him lots! When I get there, it won't be old...you know how it goes!

Very slow day at work today. Seems like such a waste of time when there are no customers in!

A few of us women from the Leading Ladies of our area planted Iris at the cemetery near my house at the veterans grave sites that have nothing around them. Wore me out!

DH was grumpy last night about getting everything moved for new floors. Last night I moved 4 chairs from dining table to back bedroom, 4 bar stools to basement, took out leaves from the table, and emptied the bottom storage of the aquarium. Tonight...moving the couch and loveseat sectional to the corner instead of ski-jawed in the room, taking the 2 glider rockers and ottomans to the back bedroom and a small table to the basement and file cabinet somewhere (?). By the time DH gets home the house will look EMPTY! Stubborn? Not me! NEVER! Nothing gets me moving like a little attitude!

    Have a happy Hump day!
  • Dawn, I am so impressed that you are willing to do your own wrenching! I sure hope the issues are easy to fix and that you get your dependable ride back.

Colleen - whew ! that is alot of furniture moving! and nice job on the flower planting, very nice thing to do. I see a li'l halo around your head

Reda, ooh 8 days to go!! You know we would LOVE to go to Sturgies. We have to! One of these years!!

Had such a beautiful ride to work today, not too warm or cool, just right with just jacket and gloves. I was behind a car that was moving right along so i let him run radar for me, lol.

I'm finally down a couple pounds more, I'm hovering at 149-150. Gosh just 5 pounds to what I think is goal.

We still don't have Internet at home, grrr. Hopefully tomorrow.
  • We have Internet now!! YAY.

Here she is, Miss Crossroads 2011 My sash slipped when I posed with this girl. I love my tiara!

  • LOL! Yes I have been naughty & started logging in at work. So it could be my computer but that makes me feel better that you do not see it.
  • I can't see them. Well this week I will be kicking butt on my diet, I still have 30 lbs I want to lose by Christmas. I am going to try to go for a bike ride today. Talk to you gals later.
  • I should have gave you a weight update I am still at 230-232. So my ticker is still on.
  • Hey y'all. I am still alive... barely. I am working OT at both places... averaging 89 hours a week. Not ideal, but I will muddle through until December when the doctor shuts down this office and moves it. I can do this until December, but not much longer. My weight is suffering.... and I have NO life.

Congrats Holly! Can you send me a pic?

Congrats on the upcoming vacation Reda, btw, I saw your son's picture on FB, he is very handsome! Think of me while you are vacationing.

Colleen, It sounds like you are getting your house squared away.

Dawn, sorry for the bike problems.

Aaron, you are sure rocking the WL.... you go man!

Sorry so short..... going back to sleep. I am in the middle of my 12 days without one off.... kinda draining. BUT, if I can pass the physical it will be worth it!
