  • Aaron is our big loser here!! I am sometimes glad I don't have a digital scale, but sometimes I wish I did.

more rain here! day after day. and it won't get out of the 40's today, brrr! well I have today off, and can do inside stuff, then I don't know when my next day off is, maybe Sunday.

Older DS and I will hopefully get DH's bike to the local mechanic tomorrow (just 5 miles away; DS does't mind riding in the cold as long as it isnt' slick) for the brake work and inspection. Still a great sign that DH is going ahead with wanting his bike ready!

I had a couple handfuls of corn chips last night, boy were they good. Hope the salt doesn't make me go at whatever the scale shows.

Hope everyone has a good day, and I hope that some of you might have sun and warmth! we sure aren't!
  • Well we hit 60's and lots of sunshine but with that comes lots of wind- which makes it hard to ride when blowing 30+

Well a few corn chips are not bad I had Taco Johns with 2 tacos and some potato Oles and cheese sauce- well it is summer time and it is very hard for me to stick to plan
And now we are going out for Cinco De Mayo and everything will b totally off plan as well but we will have a good time

    Have a great night
  • Reda, hope you had fun celebrating Cinco de Mayo!

Hi Aaron, Dawn, Tammy and Colleen!

I rode to work today How great is it to say those words!!! Very great It was barely 60 and no sun. I wore; undershirt; two long sleeved shirts, hoodie sweatshirt, jacket, fleece neckwarmer, leather bandana, jeans, chaps, boots, gauntlet gloves, and I was still cold But it was still great! Wore goggles to help with the no-windshield situation. I don't know how some can ride without a shield, I admire them!

Had a good day at work, back into the swing of things. Baked off 10 pastry pie shells for tomorrow's chocolate cream pies; made a vat of mince pie filling; and a big bucket of graham crumbs for next week's cheesecakes.

This morning older son rode DH;s bike to town, to the mechanic, for rear brake pads and inspection. Sure hope they call to say it's done tomorrow..and I know everyone here will be crossing their fingers and hoping DH's guardian angel is back on duty!
  • Happy Mothers Day

Well the no windshield is not the greatest with my chopper I have no windshield but rode a roadking yesterday on our poker run and it had a windshield and that sure was nice.........

Ok so my mothers day started off not so great DS woke me up at 6:30 his lip was broken open (actually it looked like part of it was missing) anyways he says he fell down our basement stairs but of course we know that is not true and he is not telling us what happened- we of course read through his phone messages and from those we are getting that a girls brother must of blind sided him or maybe thought he was breaking in the house or something
my DS has been a boxer for 6 years and cage fighter for 4 years and he can handle himself but it looks like he was hit once then that was it no other marks anywhere on his face, hands or body..... oh well I guess he will tell me about eventually just not sure why he won't tell me now and instead he chose to lie about it...... so that was 3.5 hours at the ER this morning

However when I got home I did have flowers waiting dishes were done
Oldest son also just brought me some flowers as well from him and his girlfriend (very nice girl) why can't the youngest find a good girl to hang with ??????

Well I suppose I am just about ready for a nap so I will check back in later
Enough Drama out of me for the day

holly so glad you got to ride
  • Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Aaron, tell your wife. lol.

I had a decent Mother's Day, I spent it with both boys. I figure it will be my last for a few years b/c my DS#2 will be 18 in November and he is determined he is moving out to be with this girl who has reaked havoc on my family. So, Aaron and Tymaboy.... I feel your pain..... trust me I do. Today is the first time in 2 weeks DS has said a word to any of us. He said we are not his family, just someone he lives with until he turns 18. I never in a million years would have thought he would be this way..... but he has. I am doing a lot of praying of a break up and him going back to his old self before then.

Aaron, great job on the WL.

Holly, I love the bike-- I am sooo glad you got it.... even though it was a stressful time getting it. And, I am soooo glad that you are at the decent job now.

Reda, I drove a Road King in the Fall, and I loved it.... but I just can't pull it off financially now. Btw, I know it hurts b/c your DH didn't tell you the truth, but you two seem solid.... maybe he will confide before too long.

Colleen, I sure miss your humor.

I am still working a lot of hours....... makes an old girl tired. I am averaging about 80+ a week..... but with fingers crossed I MAY get to take 4 days off to celebrate my anniversary. Can you girls believe it has been TWO years since I went to Vegas? We were actually on the road 2 years ago today..... but our anniversary is not until Friday. Doesn't seem like that long. I long for that kind of trip again.

I have got to get ready for bed. I have not slept since yesterday before work.

I will gab at you more later. I sure miss our daily talks we used to have. Maybe again one day......

    Tammy
  • good morning chicks, and so good to hear from Tammy! 80+ hours a week, OMG I don't know how you've been doing it, but you are Superwoman I think and still so sorry about how younger son has his head in the wrong place...must hurt you so much. He is young, lets hope that horrible girl he's with does something stupid and you can get him back.

Reda, at the time in the ER and knowing DS wasn't telling the truth..that must have been upsetting. But glad you had flowers and dishes done for you!

    Hi Aaron and Dawn

Older son got me nice bike related things, a whole bag of those little chemical packet handwarmers, and a simple, clean looking chromed license plate frame for the bike, and he put it on for me. And he helped me get those ugly Safety Precaution tank stickers off my tank, without a trace. (they had been on 7 years, they didn't want to come off!)

Younger son brought 2 boxes of Russel Stover chocolates, oh no! I couldn't resist.

I have 2 people sending me spare windshields, isn't that great?? I don't know if either will be suitable but I will sure try.

I see blue sky outside!! the weather people have promised 4 days of sun. I wish the daytime high would be more than 62 but I'll take it.

    have a great day1
  • Hi Gals. Well today I am up to 240.8 ouch, to much camping and eating and drinking. Happy Mothers day late. Holly I am happy for you on riding to work, how did your leather bandana work, I was going to get one for cold weather and june bugs. Reda my son has lied to us also and it sucks. Tammy 80 hours in 1 week wow, when do you sleep. Well I hope my diet works better this week, I need to be more strict, I am up 4 lbs. Stress from work and town meetings have made it hard to keep on track.
  • good evening! Aaron, I'm sorry the scale is not being nice to you...I'm sure you will knock those few pounds off pronto . The leather bandana is very good! completely blocks the wind.

Aaron are you a member of a town council or a public office or something? that takes alot of work and dedication, good on you!

    and hi to everyone else

I ordered an inspection sticker mount for my bike. My bike doesn't have an inspection sticker on it, maybe they weren't required in Kansas, that is where my bike is from. But if I don't have to have the sticker on the fork, then I would like to change that. So I got a nice heavy chromed mount, but DH isn't sure where to put it. I'm sure he'll figure it out

Those darned chocolates are out of the house thank goodness!! and I resisted and did not have a TASTE even of the 12 pieces of leftover chocolate cream pie at work. I had to be good today, compared to yesterday!
  • Hi Gals. Holly yes I am a town chairman, have been since I was 33, now I am going on 42. I don't know how you do it working around that good smelling food. Well I was good all day and I lost 1 of the pounds that I gained in the last week. So I am up 3 pounds yet.
  • Hi Tammy glad to hear you are doing OK and Happy Anniversary if you do not make it back on here before then

Aaron you will lose that in no time but camping will do it every time you just have to stay on track through the week - I sure can't go camping with having a few beers......

Holly glad to hear Mothers Day went well for you and to get some extra stuff for your bike that is great

Well DS and I went and watched Fast Five Sunday night and he did tell me that he was at a girls house and he won't say who but that a guy did catch him off surprise and hit him with something but thats all he is really saying right now but he will talk when he is ready

But I do have to say the last 2 days we have been in the 90's and to hot for right now- but tomorrow back to the 60's but had to turn the air on because it got way to hot in the house, who would have thought

Well better get off here and get dishes done from supper
  • Tammy - oops I also wish you a Happy Anniversary that is hard to believe it was 2 years ago

Reda, that is so kewl that your son did confide in you, if not all the info, at least a start. You're a good mom It has been 90 there?? and then down to 60, wow. 90 is too hot I agree.

It was 40 when I had to leave for work this morning, so I didn't ride. Without a shield I just could not do that for 40 minutes. But a friend is mailing me a shield and mount, that his son had, it is a little shield but maybe it will fit and be good. I am still trying to not spend much more $ but a shield is necessary for me. But I did take the bike to town this afternoon after it warmed up a bit, and even though the wind was trying to take me off the bike, it was great

Can you deal with some food porn talk - this is what I've been making at work for the past few days. Pie pastry and fillings for 90 servings of pumpkin pie and 40 servings of mince pie; 130 servings of raspberry almond cheesecake with raspberry sauce; 140 mocha pecan cookies; 80 sugar cookies; muffin batter for 12 dozen muffins; a 15 gallon container of granola; 50 servings of sour cream coffeecake; 80 servings of apple spice cake. And that's just for Wed., Thursday and Friday

I'm working doubles for the next 3 days so I might not check in.
  • Hi Gals. Well today I am down to 234.6 this is the lowest i have been in the last 15 years. I am going out for a fish fry tonight .
  • Happy Friday the 13th

Way to Go Aaron I knew it wouldn't take you long to be right back on track

Holly that is alot of deserts and doubles coming up- but at least it is at your fun job
  • Thank you Reda. Had fish fry last night so I will skip todays weigh in.
  • good afternoon! My three LONG days are over. I got to work at regular time on Wed., did the pastry baking and helped out the chef, had a couple hours off, then onto dinner waitstaff duty. Spend the night at the lodge ( I lucked out and got one of the rooms with a private bathroom, there are only a few of those). Worked day and evening on Thursday; spent the night there again but no luck that night, slept on the floor with a sleeping bag in a little walk-in closet Worked day and night yesterday but came home

It was a very successful Opening Week, everyone was raving about the food so that's always good. Looking forward to the $$.

My mom's memorial service is tomorrow, it is cold and raining now (we had beautiful weather for 4 days in a row!) I don't have anything prepared to say; I will just speak from the heart.

A friend shipped a windshield his son doesn't use anymore, it is a brief little shield, smoked, very sleek looking. DH installed it today, it looks real nice, and I cant wait to try it out! but rain is forecast for days and days here. I'll have to be patient.

Aaron, congrats, you just keep breaking your records don't you and that is great!

Hi Reda, Dawn, Tammy and Colleen!
