"I feel like I am back in kindergarten in many ways... personal, sometimes at work and now with the weight loss. I have done so many things wrong over the years.....emotional eating, pills for weight loss, eating the wrong things, failed diets, etc.
Now it's time to start fresh, kinda like back in kindergarten......"

Got a call from mom's Dr. earlier. They have now noticed a problem on mom's x-ray..on her lung. So, off next week to get a more complex picture of her lungs. Scary..and I am hoping for the best. We already had an appt. at the Cancer Center on Tues. so we will get the x-ray the same day since we will be right at the hospital.
So now hoping for two good outcomes..1. that the blood test for her blood disorder does not show anything on the Cancer side..and 2. that the lung pictures are clear.
Please God..this woman has been through so much.

I am up early, well, early for staying up until 3 something and then not really getting to sleep until about 4:30 a.m. ugh. Really not so bad, or I am not feeling so bad. I have things to do today! Already folded some laundry and getting ready to do a dvd. Can't wait until Monday to get back on track with the exercise...there's no time like the present! Then going to read, put about 300 pictures in some albums before the next 200 come in the mail, lol...and later on this afternoon I am headed to the park for a walk. It is supposed to be 57 and I am hoping the wind doesn't start, or get too crazy. On with the day.

I have also been told that International calling cards are the ones to be sent overseas. I have my grandson-in-law's unit address if anyone wants to send cards to a Navy unit.

Just dropping by to say HI! Nothing special going on today, same old stuff, different day. Have some laundry to do, reading and going to do a couple of dvd's today. Not going to kill myself with the exercise today but want to do something and I certainly can manage 2 dvds thru out the day. Son is going to come over for dinner later so I've got ribs in the crockpot, rolls are rising and may fix some brownies. He's come over a few times for dinner since his SO other went to St Louis to spend the holidays with his family. Back tot he exercise...had planned to go to the park again byt that wind is fierce!

Hi all! Lazy day here, Teri took Dom home early but we still had Ashton...Tonya usually calls early to see when we are bringing him home...turns out her half brother killed himself drunk driving and she was pretty shook up so we kept him pretty much all day.

Jules-Oh my..sorry to hear about Tonya's half brother. Must be devastating.

Lazy day here too. Mom was feeling pretty bad...we just read papers and drank coffee all morning. DH and I ran out for a bite of lunch while mom napped. Brought home a pie for her and DH.
Just watched a movie with hubster and now I am "surfing." Have been Christmas "looking" and also winter home looking. Hoping to rent something for next winter. Hate, hate, hate the cold, damp mid-west.

Dental appt. tomorrow and then will do laundry/housework. Tues. mom has her 2 big appts. Then the rest of the week will be free unless Dr. calls with new info. It is not really "free" for mom though...she just can't get up and do much. DD will come sit with her one day so I can go shopping. I NEED to get a start on gifts..not to mention groceries and I need some clothes for ME.

I can't even begin to think about decorating....

Sue..sorry, no info. Fonzo bought a phone card on the ship. When it ran out, I refilled it for him using the number on it.

Jules- So sorry to hear about Tonya's half brother :(

Hey to everyone else. Not much going on here. I barely touched Thanksgiving dinner, and didn't bother w/the leftovers. I just wasn't feeling it. I did eat a lot of the pumpkin spice cheesecake, lol!! We fed the cats the last of the turkey and they passed out after eating it.

I have a sore throat. I hope it doesn't turn into anything more. That would really suck. Fonzo has one too. I guess that's what happens when you go into 9 degree weather with no gloves or hats one. We're leaving for our anniversary trip on thursday. I really hope we're better before then.

OKay..time to clean. I want to put up the tree today.

Lazy me...I was up late and up early this morning. Went to bed at 2 a.m. but didn't fall asleep until about 4:15 or so...then had planned on getting up at 6:30 getting to the mall by 7 and home to possibly take a nap. Well, didn't get up until 7:30'ish and to the mall after 8...had a stop on the way and now I am needing a nap! But I am going to try and stay awake so that I can go to bed early and get back on schedule. Not watching Lily really messes up my schedule. Anyway...got my hour walk and a dvd in can't ask for more than that.

JULES...so sorry to hear about Tonyas brother, that is so sad. It is so hard losing a loved one anytime but around the holidays is even worse! Hugs to her and her family :hug:

Walk is done and getting ready to do dvd, then laundry, and reading.

I'm sick :( Things were really bad yesterday. My temp was 99.4. My body starting aching, I had chills. I took a steaming hot shower and it made the aching stop. But then I got out and it came back, lol!! Then the runny nose & sneezing started. I ended up taking Tylenol Cold, even though it felt like I had the flu. It didn't knock me out until 5am!!! I stayed up watching Friends & laying on the heating pad, lol!!

I think the medicine made me really burpy. Every time I sat up, I burped. How gross & funny is that? LoL!! Sometime after hubs left for work..I sat up and had this really long burp..and I thought "I shouldn't have drank that Coca Cola" LOL!! I totally didn't drink soda..we don't even have any in the house. I'm so strange.

Anyways..burping aside..I feel a little better today. My temp is 98.7 now. Yay!! My nose is still runny and my throat is itchy & sore still. But I'm staying in bed and sleeping it off. Hopefully it'll be gone by saturday (which is when we're going to NYC). If I'm still a little sick by thursday (when we leave for Atlantic City), then I can just stay in the hotel room while hubs gambles downstairs.

Cristina..I finished wrapping my gifts. I'm just waiting for the big one from the Lego store to arrive. The stocking stuffer dvd that I bought is backordered until Dec. 29!!! WTF!!! I'm so mad!!

Uh oh..my cousin just sent me a email. She just separated from her husband, and things just hit the fan. Gotta go talk to her.

Come out and play girls...Where is Mindee? She has been MIA for too long. Kathy, Katy..all the rest..need to hear that you are all OK.

We went to mom's appt. at the Cancer center. This is the Dr. that thought she had bone cancer, then found it is another type bone disease. Well, her blood work today was excellent and he says she is doing far better than he expected. He thought she would need blood transfusions by now..but her numbers keep going up. So, for that we are very grateful. ANother 6 months before he checks her again.
The chest x-rays we will not know about for a few days. Hopefully her Dr. will call us when she gets those results.
Mom is still in much pain from her back and hip. The dr. this morning said they can do a better job of managing her pain...so I am talking to her Dr. tomorrow and see what she can come up with. No way to live I tell you.

Otherwise, things are just the same here........stress and worries about some family members. Stress and wondering about the Holidays and how we will handle them with mom...just plain stress. Was going to go to the Mall this afternoon and try to shop....but I got some ads for tomorrow sales that look great. SO, put it off another day..lol. I am pure tired anyway, didn't get to sleep until after 4 and the alarm went off at 7:15. I hope to catch a nap as soon as I get mom some lunch.

Francie- I was typing when you posted. Hope you are feeling better soon. Dang, why does that happen when you have plans for a big week-end? Sending "get well" vibes to you.

Cristina- Keep up the good work.......

Just stopping by real quick. I feel good one min, then terrible the next. I hate this. I think we're going to cancel the trip. None of these stupid medicines I have are working.

Interesting Francie. My hub is one of those that can lose fast...but he gains it back.

All I have done today is grocery shop. That is enough. LOL It is cold and dreary. Thank goodness DH was going to town, so he drove me. I really wanted to shop today, but don't want to drive. They say it will be warmer tomorrow, so no ice. I will go then. I did stop and try to get Mason's gift...only one left in a smashed open box, so I passed. I have time to get another.

Mom is not doing any better today. Talked to 2 diff dr. offices yesterday and one of them twice. Still nothing changed. They ordered an MRI for Friday...so back to the hospital. Monday is the first chance to talk to an actual "face to face" Dr. He better be prepared to do something for her. So far she has resisted going to the ER, but if her pain increases I am going to take her.

Nothing planned for the rest of the day. Making mac and cheese for dinner and I will have a nice salad. Making sliders too...yummy. I think I will go read...have a Sue Grafton book waiting for me. :)

Weight was the same....which is okay. At least I didn't gain over turkey day and I am not really pushing it right now. I just get too wrapped up in the stress stuff. At least I am NOT eating my stress away. I got some almonds and mini rice cakes and those are my snacks.

aw Sue--I hope they figure out why your mom is hurting. I didn't gain either and TOM came to visit...come on menopause!!

Francie--I got the drippy nose, sore throat and achy too...

Cristina-sorry dil is back to her evil self she was doing good there for awhile..I bet her mother got jealous....

just a quickee--hubby is in the house now and calling for me...

Anyway...did absolutely nothing today! UGH one of those days I did not want to get up and didn't until noon. I don't know why I keep doing that because I really do hate sleeping in so late! Did get a load of laundry done and some reading so I guess I did do something, not much though. Tomorrow...walk first thing and then grocery shopping, ugh. That's almost as bad as sleeping till noon, lol!

We decided not to cancel our trip. We're all packed & ready to go. I'm just waiting for hubs to wake up from his nap. He's like a baby, LOL jk!! He worked from 2am to 9am.

Grocery shopping is done, as is my walk! Actually was up at the crack of dawn and I am feeling it now. Definitely need a nap! Stayed up late trying to finish my book and watching stupid stuff on tv. Have about 80 pages of the book left so will get that done and I am getting ready to do a dvd even though my old body is aching. I will survive...may be hurting later, or maybe be hurting MORE later but in the long run, it's good for me so...I think it is anyway.

All time high on the stress level. I think I am going to blow a fuse before this is all over. Back to the hospital for mom's MRI tomorrow. They have taken so many pictures of her..I swear I don't know why they can not make a diagnosis. For now the pain meds. are helping her, but not by a lot.

I went to the Mall today and bought 2 gifts and a few stocking stuffers...not a very good start.

I did pick up my grandson and bought him shoes, lunch and a haircut. We had a nice "visit" and said our good-byes. He leaves tomorrow for CA. I will be stressed until I hear that he arrived safely. Hate it when anyone flies.

We just had leftovers for dinner tonight. I had a salad with lettuces, spinach, onions and clementines. Love it with Balsamic vinegar and oil.

Glad to hear Francie is getting to take her trip and that Cristina is exercising like always. Sorry you are under the weather Jules.

Hey All,

Just popping in to say We are all moved!! YAY! And DH and I went last Sunday and scrubbed and cleaned the old place and got our deposit back. So we're all done with the old place! The landlord and his wife were so tickled with how well we cleaned that even his wife asked me to come and clean her fridge because she said that we got that one at our old place, "just sparkling". I was thinking, "Wow well what did you expect? For us to leave it dirty?" lol.

Anyways. I'm glad that is done and glad that we're all moved. The Kitchen, Bedroom and now Office is mostly done. Living room needs the TV/Surround Sound set up yet, but the Satellite Dude came today. So we have TV now. I was not too happy with him, he just kinda trasped about the house like he owned the place, infact let one of my cats out of the bedroom, where I put them so they would be out of his way and safe in case he left any doors open. Then he closed in the other cat. He did apologize for that. Then he stuck something on the Router (for the computer) that he wasn't supposed to do so DH was not too happy about that one. Anywho, we have TV now, that is the important thing. ;)

I will try to get Christmas Cards out, but I haven't found them yet, I may just have to buy more. If I don't get them out, I will just send out Ecards. I need to get on the ball! Moving has put a big bump in the holiday stuff. I need to make Christmas Cookies and do extra for my MIL because she's in the Nursing Home (for Therapy on her Leg she had surgery on) and she's all bummed because she can't bake and what not and give out cookies to her doctors, etc. So I said I'd do it for her. UGH. What did I volunteer for? LMAO! Ah well. lol.

She will be home hopefully on December 22nd. If her Dr lets her but her Insurance is refusing to pay what is left after Medicare pays. So she is all upset about that. We said we'd help out with what we can.

Anywho thats about it from here. We're expecting snow tonight/tomorrow!! A couple inches or so. Nothing big. It did flurry a bit the other day, was very pretty.

I've been sick with a bad cold that our dear friend gave us who helped us move had. Yippee. Now DH has it.

Was headed to the park to walk but not sure because it is windy out, but supposed to be 62 so we will see. Maybe after my two errands I will head that direction. Have to take some wrapping paper back to the party store and exchange it. Got all goofy when I found purple wrapping paper didn't look to notice that it was CELLO! Meaning you can see right thru it, lmao. Then I HAVE to go get my Alex Cross (James Patterson) book...been dying to get the newest Alex Cross forever! Of course who can go into a book store and only get one book?! Not me! Later gators :wave:

Took mom about 45-50 minutes to get her MRI. I walked down to the gift shop where they had a rack of used books..so I bought 3. No, I didn't need them, I have a shelf of about 40 books to read...but I can not pass up a book that looks like new and cost 8.99 new and is only 93 cents. I do that every time I am in that hospital. :)

Mom had a lot of pain trying to stay on her back for the MRI...felt so bad for her. She came home and slept for 3 hours.

I made beef, potatoes and carrots in the crock pot, so dinner was a breeze and DH cleaned up after. He has been so good to me/us while mom has felt so bad. I think I shall keep him...after 33 years I guess I better.

DGS is on his way to CA and I shall sleep good tonight once I hear he has landed. He has to change planes in LA, which is rather scary. (I can't quit treating him like a 10 year old..good grief he is 21!)

We are supposed to get snow tomorrow....hate, hate, hate it. I might put up the tree if I feel like it..and I should really pour it on and shop. I am afraid they might put mom in the hosp. next week and the more I can have done before that the better. I actually would rejoice if they put her in the hosp. at least she would be pain free even if it is due to being drugged. She can not take enough drugs at home to aleve the pain.

Thank you all for your kind words and good wishes for mom....we can take all the prayers you have to offer. Still have heard nothing about the spot in her lungs.

Sorry to say I am not going to send out cards this year...I do wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a Merry CHRISTmas.

Back again...no walk, too windy and quite chilly to me. But Sunday for sure regardless of the weather me and daughter will head to the park. The temp is supposed to drop drastically tonight but no snow thank goodness! I DON'T want any of that white stuff!

Got my Alex Cross book and can't wait to get started on it. Was hoping to find another book for Lily (got the kids a few books each except her-one so far, well, now 2) but didn't find what I was looking for there. I did find a cute little Princess one at Hallmark and go that. Also, was hoping to get another book for myself, one of the discounted books for $5 or $6 but didn't see anything. So I ended up with the Alex Cross one and a donated one for a child. They are doing books for kids in Headstart and something else so I grabbed one. Anyway, almost done with Skipping Christmas...definitely should never watch the movie before reading the book, think it kind of ruins it-for me anyway.

SUE...glad you have your hubby to help you, more hugs. You can't beat sale books-ever!

Okay, just wanted to stop by and say HI. Going to go do some laundry since the son called and wants to do some here tomorrow. Guess I won't be cooking dinner since I ate lunch at 4, lol. Went to the bookstore, then to Hallmark and by the time I finished it was 3:30 so fast food it was. And I still feel full. Just need to not stay up until 2 or 3 a.m. and get hungry later!

I don't like it...but must admit it looks pretty out there. I have no plans to go out today, so I can enjoy looking. Now...when I need to go somewhere it better be melted. haha

Feeling a little better today...mom is resting quite well and I hope it continues. She needs to be comfortable.
DGS made it to Cali....after some drama of delays, etc. He is safe with DS now.

I am going to *maybe* get Christmas stuff out today. At least the candles and deco. for the mantle and other odds and ends. I know DH will ask me if/when I am putting the tree up. And it SHOULD be today, but I get no help...so I am waffling. He professes to not like the holidays...then he is the one wants the tree up. (I should tell him to go for it) We will see what happens.....

Last night I got all 13 of the neighbors little ornaments and cards ready. So, one chore down.

I am enjoying watching the kids outside pulling their sleds up and down the street. There is no hill..so they pull each other. They are all in snow suits and I can't tell who is who...they are cute. Man, I don't know how they stand the cold, but I do remember those days.

Well its snowing here. Its pretty, now that I'm inside and don't have to go out in it. We plan on doing nothing today but unpacking and getting things done since its snowing and cold out.

We aren't putting up our tree or anything this year. Since MIL is in the nursing home until almost Christmas, none of us is putting anything up. I did put up our Wreath on the door as I found it. I didn't find our little tree that we used to have up in our apt for so many years, I was gonna at least put that up, but haven't came across it. Ah well. I guess its a big BAH HUMBUG for us this year. MIL doesn't want any decorations up at her house either. Not that we were going to do it without her there --- *shivers* that would be bad! HA.

Anywho. I'm just glad the move is over and now we can just unpack as we can.

Lazy Saturday around here, well, it's actually Sunday now, lol. I have got to get back on schedule and quit staying up so late! Anyway...got up around 11, 11:30'ish ate breakfast and got on the computer. Read some and then nothing. Watched these christmas (lights/yards/houses) decorating shows on TLC...man, some of those people are OBSESSED with the Christmas decorating..crazy that someone would put 1,000,000 lights in their yard and on their house! Anywho...saw that Kohl's was going to be open until 1 am so the daughter and I took off about 10'ish, lol. Actually, was nice shopping when no one is in the store. Finished up with Lily for Christmas, got something for my mother, the son and his SO and something for myself, lol and the hubby...sweaters for our Christmas picture Friday if it is a go...waiting to hear from J & C on that.

Had planned a walk tomorrow but the son is coming over to do laundry so will cook a roast and they will stay for dinner. That's about all I have...hoping everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Ummm, SUE & SASSY...you ladies can keep your snow! I am so not ready for snow, ick! It is pretty but I just hate the mess it makes...plus people drive more stupid in bad weather.

Ashton is such a happy baby..he wakes up smiling and happy...I could have slept more this morning but he's up playing with toys....Dominic is sick too. Ashton has been grandpas boy, but he doesnt get up during the night with him. Dom has beeen meme's shadow.

Sassy--if it wasn't for DOm we would not have put up anything last year. I want some snow. Hope MIL is getting better.

Sue--hubby is the same way..says he is not into the holidays til I say I am not getting a tree....as I said to Sassy..we want snow!!

Good Afternoon all!

We slept in til about 10ish today. We worked late lastnight. Got the Kitchen completely done!! :D Today we are going to work on the Bedroom and getting some of the boxes out of the garage so DH can actually park the car in it! ;)

I don't think I woke up even one time last night I was SO tired! LOL. But it was a good tired! No more snow today.

Well DH is back from the store, he ran to get a couple of things and I'm going to make some "Brunch" ha ha.

Quickie...One bit of good news today. Mom's chest x-ray was normal. The questionable "spot" is possibly scar tissue from a bout of pneumonia or some type trauma to her ribs in years past.
She goes to an orthopedic specialist tomorrow....has a tear in the muscle at her hip joint. Also much inflammation and swelling. So...maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel if they can treat her. I was amazed that they could get her in so quickly....her Dr. office just called them today.

I will keep you posted. They did also give her new pain meds. and she seems to be getting more relief. Thank goodness.

Was up bright and early to go for my walk, ugh...way too early for me. But I like getting that hour walk in first thing in the morning. So if I don't get any other exercise done at least I did a hour! And now I need to go to bed and start over again tomorrow.

I woke up at 8:30 am and should have just stayed up. But I guess I was tired because I laid back down, thinking, "Oh I'll sleep another 1/2 hr or so." HA! I woke up at 11! :faint:

Oh well. lol. I had the strangest dream too. I was in some strange place and this one girl grabbed a bunch of Cobras from a tree and was trying to kill something with the Cobras and she was swinging from the trees! Then her son lived in some big huge tree that was like an apt building. But she went to go see him and he was gone. Vanished. Very very weird!!!!!! lol.

Well I am going to bake some cookies today for my MIL so she can give them to her Drs and I was thinking of baking a couple cakes, if I have all the ingredients to take to the staff of the nursing home she is in and to her Therapists. Oh a little update on her: She broke 2 toes and the metatarsal bone in her GOOD foot. So now she has an air cast on that foot. So now they have her sliding on a board to get in and out of her Wheel Chair.

So I dunno if they are gonna let her home on Dec. 22nd or not. I hope so. But I don't see how she is supposed to get along at home with two feet that she can't use.

Anyways. That is the lastest here.

Sue -- Thats great about your Mom!

Cristina -- Yeah it seems like a slow go, but now that we got all the stuff out of the garage and where the boxes all belong, it should be a lot easier. That was a tough job. Taking stuff upstairs and to the basement. But we got it done. Glad you got your exercise. I still haven't gotten back on track yet. But I figure since we now have stairs that has to help a little tiny bit. Extra movement at least.

Ortho doc wants mom to get yet another MRI tomorrow. Seems the last one didn't include the portion he wants to see. AT least they can get her in first thing in the morning (oh how I hate being there at 7:45...) and then he will call with the results. He told her today he would not give up and would find out what is causing her pain...and quickly. Bless him..the other Drs. don't care if they can't get to her for 2-3 weeks.
Nothing is showing up on her tests that should be causing her so much pain..nothing. I was just sure they would say it was a fracture....the other Dr. said a tear, but this one said not so. He is more inclined to believe it is all caused by her back...so we will see.

Meanwhile, I got the tree up and mostly decorated. Ran out of "rope" so will add that if I find more. I bought another gift today...slowly getting there. haha...

Sassy..glad things are going well since the move. Wow..an upstairs and a basement? You will be getting exercise for sure.

Cristina- I sooooo want to walk. I wish I lived near the mall because it is too dang cold to walk outdoors. I am missing it though. May get back to WATP.

My days seem to just flash by so quickly. Drive 30 minutes to mom's Dr. or the hospital...sit for an appt. Drive home. There goes half the day. This has been 3 days a week lately. (and will be 3 this week too) Then Thurs. I have to go for MY appt. Grrrrr. I did finally get to the BMV and get the handicap card for the car. Now I can at least park closer and not such a hassle with the wheelchair and all. It is just exhausting to get mom in or out anywhere....I feel so bad for her. I complain and she is the one in pain. :(

OMG!! My friend invited me to go to Russia with her in Sept!! How awesome is that? I talked it over with Fonzo, and he wants me to go. He said he always felt bad that he got to travel, while I was stuck at home. But really..it wasn't like that at all. I mean, he had to go. I wasn't stuck at home, I was waiting for him. Either way, he told me to go. I'm still going to think about it a little more...Russia was very low on my list of places to visit. But I think this is a pretty amazing opportunity...one that probably won't come around again.


Sue-I hate it when the tests always come up with nada. Some docs & nurses start to think you're making it up (which makes you feel like total crap). I hope they find out ASAP!!

Off to take mom to her 4th Dr. visit this week.
We could use some prayers this morning as we learn what kind of mass she has on her back. All we know is it shows up on MRI as a mass.
I wanted answers, but not this....

I will check back in when I can...
