Awoke to more snow....I think we got about 4 more inches. And I have to go out in it later to take mom in for her lab work. Looks like the traffic is moving alright out on the main road though. Indiana is pretty much used to cleaning off the roads and unless we get a blizzard they are on top of things. (now watch it be horrible out there today since I gave them kudos)

I did not fall asleep until 7 a.m. and then awake at 8:30...gonna be a long day. I just don't feel "right." Don't feel sick actually, just off. Ah well, too much to do for me to get down today.

DH is shoveling the driveway, I emptied the dishwasher and made coffee. Mom is slowly getting ready to go...she will be ready an hour early, Bless her heart.

Have you ever had a battery explode in anything? Last night I was getting off the computer and my mouse made a funny pop sound. I looked it over and that was it. This morning it was dripping with liquid and one of the batteries was bulging. Ick..and those were just put in last week...sigh.

Well I applied for a new line at work today. It is for Nights and Day shift instead of the Day and Afternoon shift that I have now. With Afternoons, I really don't get to see the family for 2 weeks straight, so I hope that I get the new one. Took Cole to see his first concert, so now he has a big crush on Carrie Underwood. too funny. Anyhow, I had better get off the computer and get ready to go to work. Fun Fun...

thanks for all your encouraging words. No DH cannot take this test again. Its for his certification for a specific software that his current co. is using and they only allow him to take it 3 times, this was his 3rd time. Its the co.'s policy and not the policy of the software, so he can retake it, if he finds another co. to sponsor him. But he cannot stay in his current position at his current job because they have to be certified to do that job. Also his current boss is a *****. So she is currently out of town for the holidays, but I am sure once she returns she will fire my dh. He was on the computer and the phone all day yesterday trying to find another job. He had an interview today at a IT Staffing place, he said it went well. He had several phone calls yesterday and several phone interviews, so I'm hoping something pans out and I'm hoping we don't have to move out of town as one was for a job in Texas and one was for a job in Chicago. But I guess if we have to move, then we have too.

He did go to HR about his boss and how badly she has treated him, so they are looking into that and they are trying to see if he can be transferred to a different dept within the company. But he is still looking into other jobs because there is no guarantee and he currently the only income right now.

just thought I would pop in to see how everyone is doing......

Tommy is making cookies to take into his work for his workers.....the kids are trying to take the cookies as soon as they are coming out of the oven!

Kathy~ we are going to start looking in the spring time and get the ball rolling on every thing then.....but our lease isn't up until the end of June....so we have to stay here until then. which is fine because the boys get out in the middle of June, so it is okay.

To answer the questions about my dog...she has stage 2 cancer, the first tumors were removed a year and a half, then about six months another was removed (still stage 2) and then it came back about a month ago and now she has a major grapefruit size lump, we take her to the vet in the morning.

Mindee--I have been known to steal cooikues when they come out of the oven...that's when they are the yummiest...

Sassy--fingers crossed hubby can get transferred or gets a job quick

Sue--send the snow my way, well maybe not we are suppossed to get some Christmas day

Cristina--hubby and I are started to know the kids cartoon songs...

today would have been Mom's bday...really missing her...

Sometimes I wonder about some people! Tommy was making dinner and got a call from his mom. She said that his uncle, who hosts Christmas Eve every year, I guess had called her and was asking about Brandon and his Croup. He basically told me MIL to tell us that since everybody in their house is on medicines for us to basically stay away and stay at home. Tommy told me that while on the phone with his mom and I said some choice words.

We ended up getting into an argument because I had made my thoughts known on MY facebook page.....he went into a tizzy about me starting a HUGE fight between his whole family. I said "fine....next time I will consult YOU before I post my status updates from now on."

a few other things were said and then we let the silence set in.....then all of a sudden he walks up to me, puts his arms around me and said "I planned on us staying home, ordering some pizza and watching some Christmas movies with the kids."

so that is why my status is what it is right now.......

Mindee--the cough with the creeping crud or croup lasts long after you are actually contagious....sorry his family were so worried they didn't want you included when it's something they may end up getting anyway..everyone I talk to seems to have it or a family member does..

Mom officially has a UTI and a low white blood count....not to mention throwing up....
Appt. this afternoon to find out if we can get her well enough for surgery.
I want to cry, but someone has to smile! Poor mom.

Just wanted to come and wish everybody a Very Merry Christmas, even though I know a lot of us are having hard times or struggling. Big Big :hug: to you all.
I prayed all lastnight and today that DH would not be let go today that at least maybe we could get a few more weeks and it looks like we are. He has a meeting with HR on Jan. 4th. So that buys us some time! I hope and pray now he can get another job and I can hopefully get on somewhere.

I feel so drained/tired...so glad I don't have little ones, forgot how much of a pain they can be. Had both Lily and Cambrie today. One (and it doesn't matter which one) is fine but two of them together, ugh...lotta work! But I love them so what are ya gonna do? I am blessed to have them and even more blessed when the go home in the evening. Thinking this holiday crap is more draining than the kids. Just hard running errands with the two but we survived, always do! Daughter always ask me how I did it...guess it's different when they are yours and you have to, I just don't remember it being like this. Anywho...glad this is a short week and I will have a 5 day break after our Christmas (Eve). Of course then I will miss her being gones, lol.

Pretty much given up on the walking and eating right. I have given in, thrown in the towel and just eating whatever. I don't think I am doing so bad portion wise, just not really caring and eating whatever. I know it's not good but it is what it is so...that's about all I have, going to go take a quick nap!

I don't know if I am coming down with something or the past three days of having to get up early have taken a toll on me.....but I think I slept or catnapped most of the day today! I hope I am not getting sick!

I can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!! It is my 10 year reunion and I can't wait!!! It will be another night out without the kids, and we will be doing something afterwards with my classmates. I think the agenda right now is a pub crawl or something like it. Our friend is supposed to come over and do my hair and make up for me. I think I am just going to wear my hair down and leave it curly.

the kids are good.....no more sickies and very minimal coughing which is nice!

Jules~ I know that they remain sick well after the contagious stage is over with......Tommy's uncle was just being dumb and ignorant like usual.

Won't know until Monday if mom's surgery for Thursday is on or off. She got a super shot of antibiotics and anti-nausea medicine today. Feeling a little better tonight at least.
I have tons to do tomorrow and have decided if it gets done okay...if not Okay....I am not gonna stress.

Hope everyone is doing alright and those who are feeling sick get better soon.

DH and I went out for a bite to eat and when we came back I slipped and fell in the driveway! :stress: Luckily it was an unexpected fall so I didn't do that whole "Catching myself before I fall dance" I just fell flat on my behind, or I think I would have done worse. Now my back and leg hurts. I took my shower, now I'm gonna take a couple pain pills and watch some tv in bed!! G'night All!!

Not a whole lot happening today. Decided to go to Walmart this morning and do my grocery shopping, (what little I had to do) instead of waiting until tonight. Supposed to get some icky weather. Anyway...what a freaking mess!!! Glad I left Cambrie and Lily with daughter to watch. I don't normally do any shopping this close to Christmas but if I do I go at 6 or 7 in the morning. But with both girls I did not want to do that. They are both so sleepy with having to get up so early so I just come home and we nap for a hour or so. I meet Josh at a convenience store in the mornings which is 5 minutes away, if that. It's on the corner where he goes to work so...and then he picks Lily up in the evening so not bad, a good compromise I guess. Anyway...so did the walmart thing and then ran to the local grocery store here to get the few items left...like their milk better and I am done! Hubby put in our order at Famous Daves for tomorrows dinner and we are set! Well, I have some desserts to fix which I will do in the morning. But I am free for 5 days! Free at last, lol.

Hoping to get back on track with the walking next week...going to be another short week and not sure if I will have to watch Lily or both girls again. Hoping not so I can walk the whole week...but if so I will make do. Anyway...just dropping by to say HI :clause:

They are doing a major move at work...I am so sore with moving stuff...as I said on facebook the cancer is now going to claim my dog...hubby didn't want her put down...wants her to die at home...I sort of wish we had it done...I don't want to watch her suffer. I am as ready for Saturday as I can be...really just not into it.

We had a very good day today. Met DGD for an early lunch (altho some ate a late breakfast) since she has to work 7 to 7 the next three days and can't be here for food and fun. She is doing well since her appendectomy. And with her appendix gone the sickness she thought was morning sickness is gone too. She is happy. :)

Came home and was treated to a visit from Mason and his mama. They also can not be here for Christmas...so we gave them their gifts and had a great time playing with MJ.

I spent the remainder of the day cooking and preparing for tomorrow. We will have a meal at 1 p.m. with DD and her family and DSS who is having his first Christmas at home since 1997. I only have to make the cheese plate tomorrow as I got everything else ready to either put in the oven or crock pot in the morning. My way of having a relaxing day. :)

Mom did much better today and was even able to enjoy Mason's visit. He loves to run in to her room and grab for her remote as he is so fast she can't stop him. LOL... We finally had to just lock him out, he was so tenacious. He is so good natured.

Hope you all have a wonderful time tomorrow and Sat. whatever you do. Looks like we might get a big storm and not be able to go to family on Sat. I will have plenty of leftovers..so no worry.

I am soooo glad Christmas is OVER! Now to take down the lights and tree and it really will be. We all had a nice time today/tonight...thinking, or hoping everyone went home happy. Thinking I may not cook ever again, lol! Still had work to do but not nearly as much had I cooked a turkey and ham dinner...all is good.

JULES...I made the split decision to put our Ernie dog down on the spot. Really didn't think or rather expect to but I knew in my heart that the cancer was back. He was in pain and not eating so it was bad. I couldn't stand to see him suffer anymore and it KILLED me to do it. I miss that dog :( How was your trip to the grocery store? You are a brave woman!

I am going to try and stay up really late so that I can sleep in tomorrow! I woke up at 5 a.m. and then at 6'ish...what the heck! I finally get to sleep in and I wake up early?! Cristinas--Cinnamin is actually perking up and eating. May be the pain meds and hubby's herbal doctoring. AS long as she is doing well it's ok, but when she starts sufferring I am taking her back. Wow the grocery store and last minute shopping was insane...Walmart was completely out of eggs and brown sugar and pie filling except pumpkin and sugar free stuff..luckily I got my cherry pie filling at Martin's. I got clear home and was doing a check off to make sure I had everything and realized I didn't have the bag of milk or the bag with the cool whip, cream cheese and butter so had to drive 15 minutes back to get it...uggg I never forget things...

Mindee--the reunion sounds fun...hope you got all the wrapping done

well, we had grandboy withdrawal so we stopped first at Ashton's and then to Dominic's. My kids need to get out of the jealous competetive mindset they are in or I am going to knock their heads together!! It's ridiculus. It's was nice at both places except when they started talking about their sibling or the siblings so...geesshhh!!

going back to bed...gotta a call from Bob that he's sick and not coming...not eating until around 1 so I have plenty of time since I am not cooking turkey.

Hello All and Merry Christmas! :tree:

We had our Christmas lastnight at the In-laws since it was to snow today and all. DH took MIL to the hospital yesterday for her daily hook-up of IV medication and I stayed with FIL to keep him company at their house. It was a nice day. I made a Cheese Ball and everybody loved it. ;) I honestly didn't eat that much of it, but it was inhaled by the rest of them! lol

Our Christmas dinner was a rather simple one since MIL is out of commission this year and FIL is really worn out. We had a ham, potato salad and green beans and rolls. But it was good and we just all celebrated all of us being together and like FIL said, "There are a lot of people that are A LOT worse off than we are" so that is what we celebrated, being together, being alive and warm and together.

DH took MIL to the hospital again today to give FIL a break. I told him that I know he may not like getting up early on his days off to do it but I know FIL really appreciates it, since he does it every single day. So I hope DH volunteers for tomorrow and Monday too, since he is off. But its up to him. He also took MIL by the Cemetery, we bought a Wreath to put on his Grandmas grave, something his Mom usually does every year, and so we did it this year and so he took her by so she could see him put it on her grave.

Today I think I am just gonna rest. I was gonna do laundry and maybe unpack a few things, but I think I am just gonna rest since it is Christmas.

Jules -- Yes thank You for your Card and the lovely personal message! I enjoy reading your posts as well! I hope you and yours have a Very Merry Christmas!! Glad to hear that Cinnamin is doing better! I know its tough to see them in pain! Big Gentle ((Hugs)) to her!

You wanna know something? DH and I never received any Christmas Cards from any of our families or close friends in "real" life. I wasn't sure how to put that, not that you all aren't my "real" friends or anything, but I think you all understand what I mean? Or I hope so! :hug: I mean people we see day to day and what not. I only received cards from you all!! :D I consider you all my family too!! Thank You for making our Holiday special and each one of you are Extraordinary people and I love you all!! :love:

JULES...glad to hear Cinnamin is doing well. Our poor Ernie was really suffering and while some of the kids go mad because they didn't get to say bye I thought it would have been selfish on my part to keep him alive for 'me' the tumor was HUGE. I kept postponing taking him to the vet beause I knew what was going on :( :cry:

Well, I finally slept in, lol. Was kind of stupid because I had to stay up until about 3 in the morning. Nothing on the agenda for today except LOTS of laundry, reading and hopefully some stupid movies worth watching.

we had a great Christmas! to us, it really doesn't seem like Christmas.....we have a lot to be thankful for, but it just doesn't seem like Christmas. I told Tommy that it doesn't feel like Christmas since our friend and one of the kids' Godmothers, and one of my best friends, passed away at the beginning of this year. It just wasn't the same having her not call first thing in the morning to wish the kids a Merry Christmas.

Other than that, it was a great day! the kids had a blast....and the pictures are up on facebook! we are going up to my parent's house today, Sunday, so I better get my butt to bed!

I weighed this morning and still at 193, actually 193.4, ugh! Oh well, it is what it is. But...off to a good start...no more sweets and yummy foods around to tempt me. Making up my plan today to get with the program and get back on track with this weight loss. I am going to cook some sort of dinner for New Years Day but nothing like Christmas.

Nothing planned for today. Did all my laundry yesterday,man...thought I only skipped a couple of days but jeez. So going to be a lazy day of reading, some scrapbooking and I don't know what else. I AM going to do an exercise DVD too. Tired of being lazy!

Like Cristina..I thought I had only missed a day or two of laundry. Ugh...had 3 loads. Then some special loads of new things...All Done now!
Didn't do much else today. Spent some time cleaning, but nothing major. Watched a movie and now watching the Colts/Oakland. We are still eating leftovers, so no cooking today. :) I got a roast to put in the crock pot either tomorrow or Tues.

Glad everyone had a nice Holiday week-end. Back to the grind for most tomorrow...dreaded Monday.

My brother didn't come for Christmas cause he had a stomach flu but Ry and Tonya did...we all have it except Jerry at this point...not fun at all!! Was suppossed to go down to help my brother but I don't think I could drive the 45 minutes to get there!!

Got my walk in! :carrot: I didn't get up at 6 and out the door at 6:30 as planned but I got there, a little late but I got there. Did 5 times around and then headed to B & N to pick up a couple of books and then back to the mall to get some lotion at B & B...they have a buy 3 of any of the lotion, bath gel or body spray for 10.00. It's usually 9.50 for just one bottle of lotion and 10.50 for the spray. Anyway...did my last (6th) lap while there the second time. Aiming for 6:30 in the morning...it's nice walking without Lily because ya gotta drag out the stroller, diaper bag, her, a couple of toys etc...thank goodness though for the most part she is good and enjoys the ride! Might try and do a dvd later...I said might, don't want to overdo since I've not done much of anything for about 2 weeks I think so we will see.

Official WI today and I am at the 193.4 as I posted a couple of days ago so that good. Good in that I haven't gaine 5 or more pounds thru the holidays. And now I am getting back on track...

I managed to get all the laundry washed, folded and put away......oops! except for the socks and underwear but that won't take me long!

the house hunt has been amped up.......I just spent almost $30 to wash the kids laundry! I needed 11 washers and 11 dryers to get it all done......and I soooooooooooooooo can not wait to get to have a room that doesn't have the kids laundry in it.....extra blankets in it......Marissa's bed OR dresser in it!

Other than that, nothing really new on the agenda.....I do have to make some cookies to take to my sister's house on Friday but I can make those on Friday.

Walk is done! Only did 30 minutes but getting ready to do a dvd...was one of those mornings where my mind said walk and my body said no!

I set a goal of 8 pounds by Valentine's Day thinking I had 8 weeks,UGH! Just realized it's only about 6 weeks, a little off on the math. I was thinking a pound a week, I can do that. Like I said I was thinking 8 weeks though. Still aiming for it so we will see...even if I get 5 or 6 it is better than nothing so I am GAME!

Nothing on the agenda for today...scrapbooking, a little cleaning, probably a load of laundry and possibly a nap.

I printed off menus on Dr. Ian Smith's website. Gonna talk them over with DH and make what changes we know we will eat. Just use them as a guideline, nothing major. DH wants to lose and I certainly need to. I am not doing anything until after New Year's..with this hospital visit looming over us. I did learn something from the long stay before however. I am going to purchase snacks and small meals to take with me....NOT eat out of vending machines. Their cafe is nice and has heart healthy meals, but the first day or 2 I did not want to leave to go down there and ate from vending. UGH... Then after a week I got tired of their stuff. :) So...today I am checking grocery ads and going tomorrow for our weekly groceries and some healthy snacks. Thank goodness they have free coffee...but I am also going to figure out how to take my tea. Can't go all day without tea. :)

Ironing today and getting the house in order. Have a nice pot roast cooking. We will eat yukon gold potatoes, carrots and salad with that. Then DH will slice it up for his leftovers while I am away. Making him a pan of cornbread tomorrow and a few other things....he likes leftovers... Thank goodness.

Just waiting for the call from the Dr. office to inform us of the surgery is Go or NO.

everyone seems to be on the get healthy train so I will drag my fat butt onboard too...will do some time on the elliptical...if I can do 10 minutes without having a heart attack I will be good....will give up my treasured cokes again and try to make water my drink of choice (with my coffee and hot herbal tea thrown in)

getting things together to settle Mom's estate...seems so final...

Its me, Sassy. DH and I have been very sick the last few days. :barf: I guess its going around. It was BAD. So bad that I passed out once. Luckily DH came in just in time so that I didn't get hurt. He had to slap me awake. I haven't been that sick since many years back when I was in the Hospital!

Anyways, we are both better, but still weak. It really knocked the you know what out of us! My inlaws had it first and I think they got it from the hospital since MIL has to go daily for her IV Anti-biotic. But I guess a lot of people at DH's work had it too, so its spreading around!! Its BAD ya'all I hope none of you get it! Its NASTY!

Anyways. That is about it from me. Just trying to get caught up on here. I posted in General Chatter trying to get info about Lancaster, PA. DH has gotten a very nice job offer there. Its a Contract so we won't be moving there, at least right now, IF he takes it. So I was trying to get info. Just a little heads up I invited a new girl to come and be with us here. I hope she finds us. I just sent her a link to where our thread is, because I know this one is about to end soon. Its over due. So just lettin' ya know!
