Hi everyone.

Well I finally thought I had a day off, but I just got called into work....but first before I get ready to go.

Sue....I am praying for your mom and sending hugs, and good vibes.

Francie...how exciting for you. That will be a great trip.

Jules...Bet the boys are growing so quickly. Are you exhausted by the end of the day with all the playing you get to do?

Cristina...I can't wait to see how your family pictures turn out. I love seeing them. Also Can't get over how fast Lily has grown. Brings a smile to my face every time I see her picture. Hope you and DD had fun late night shopping.

Sassy...I guess you moved. Congratulations. Will need to see some pictures of your new place.

Ok I must run and get ready for work. Good thing is it is overtime today, and for the next four days because I have way many hours, and too many days in a row as we have some sort of stomach virus going around work. I will be back tomorrow to catch up

HUGS to you all.

Quick update...I am tired! :)

Mom is facing surgery to repair a disk...the black mass was not a tumor, for that I am thankful. But her disk is almost completely pinching off the nerve so has to be repaired or her pain will just continue to worsen. Her choice is for surgery even though it is life threartening for her due to many other conditions. She did so well with the surgery in June that I just have to keep remembering that.
They are hoping to do it rather quickly..just waiting for her heart Dr. to respond. With the holidays they were not too sure...but we told them that doesn't enter into the equation...we have to get her feeling better ASAP. We can celebrate Christmas before or after....

Thanks for your prayers and good wishes...keep them coming. :)

suetalks 12-12-2010 10:05 AM

I must have scared every one off with my whining and medical talk....sorry.

What is going on at your house today? Here it is already snowing and the temp. is dropping. We are supposed to be in for a bad storm. I am ready for it....gonna stay warm and cozy reading or being lazy. I might make fudge this afternoon.

Have my shopping over half done...now to wrap. Yikes!
Hopefully will get out one more time next week and finish up.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

jules1216 12-12-2010 04:08 PM

Sue--I had a teething baby and a needy almost three year old...they both were up at 5AM!! I am so tired I can't believe I am even on here typing. Alot of hospitals/doctors really dont schedule surgery over the holidays. Glad it wasn't anything more serious.

Kathy--hubby and I have been sick and we decided we are not going to do both Friday and Saturday night any more. Hopefully hubby sticks with it!

Hope everyone else is ok!

FrouFrou 12-12-2010 04:28 PM

Okay...was trying to get a post done but too much going on around and company coming. I will be back later this evening to catch up!

Shopaholic1204 12-12-2010 10:03 PM

Just stopping by to say hello. Hope all is well with everyone. I have a movie recommendation: THE BLACK SWAN!!!!! GO SEE IT ASAP!!! That is all. :)

FrouFrou 12-13-2010 02:07 AM

Hello, hello :)

It's almost 1 a.m. and I should be in bed...early day tomorrow, ugh. Anyway, said I would be back and here I am :D

SUE...glad you finally know something. Lots of prayers and hugs for you and your mother

JULES...oh no, a teething baby! :yikes: Mine never were bad at all but I think Lily made up for all three! she had a terrible time with the teething. 5 a.m. on a Saturday?! I don't know how you do it. I kept Lily once over night and man! I forgot what it was like having a little one all night/day. Of course she is not as young as Ashton. I love her to death but am glad when she goes home in the evening. Hope both babies are fine.

FRANCIE...what is this movie? I don't think I have heard about it or seen a commercial for it. All I ever see are commercials for kids movies and I am not into them at all. Russia? how exciting!

SASSY...are ya all done with the place? At least you are in and can take your time doing everything. Cookies, mmmm...sounds good! My lazy arse ordered some Christmas cut-outs from this cookies place. They are pretty good and a good size too! I had bought some when Lily was born for Josh and Charlotte.

KATHY...oh my goodness, what a nice surprise! Long time no hear! Of course I know you are busy with work and the kids.

Hello to everyone else

Busy week this week. We are doing our Christmas Dinner Friday so lots of stuff to get done, errands to run, packages to mail, last minute shopping to do, baby to watch, ugh...tired already just thinking about it. Long story but Christmas dinner Friday but not presents. We are still opening gifts on Christmas Eve so everyone can have their Christmas Day to do whatever but I am not cooking! It's pizza or some kind of take out. Anyway...going to try and get in a walk every day, we'll see. Not going to worry about it if I don't. But at least 3 days will be good...really need to change my miles (goal). Not going to stop by any means but maybe slack off a little until after the holidays are over. Exercise has been okay but the eating is out of control. I don't want to weigh tomorrow morning, ugh! Probably should every day from here until the holidays are over so I don't get out of control with it. Or at least every other day. Anyway...I need to get to bed, have to be up at 6 a.m.

Have a great Monday!

Sassy_Chick 12-13-2010 09:18 AM

Morning All! :coffee:

Well I made the cookies for my MIL for her Drs. Now I did another batch for the Nursing Home Staff where she is staying as a Thank You for taking such good care of her.

We are making progress unpacking. Living Room is basically done, just a few things need to be done down there. I am gonna work on finishing the bedroom today. Its mostly all done too just have the dreaded laundry to hang up and move a few things around.

So all that is left is our office and the spare room. So not too shabby. I'm having a hard time finding a new bath theme for our Master Bath. Since we painted the Master Bedroom a Light Blue, I kinda wanted our bathroom to be an Aquatic theme. But the only one I could find locally at least was really cheesy. So I may take a look online see what they have.

I have talked to DH and told him that after the 1st of the yr I want to get back in the losing weight dept. He said he would do it with me. Either way, together or alone, I'm gonna get back on it! ;)

I hope you all are well! I'll stop back by later to do indies!

Shopaholic1204 12-13-2010 05:11 PM

Cristina~ here ya go. http://www.foxsearchlight.com/blackswan/ It was haunting..I kept thinking about it all night. I loved it!! (even fonzo enjoyed it). My friends & I are going to Moscow & St. Petersburg, Kiev Ukraine, & Bucharest Romania. Awesome huh?

Sassy~ What about a beach theme? It's kinda watery.

FrouFrou 12-13-2010 06:49 PM

Hello and a Happy Monday to ALL!

SASSY...I think that is what I am going to do, not actually quit completely but not focus on the weight loss/exercise 100% until after the holidays. Just too much going on. That's good your hubby is going to do it with you.

FRANCIE...wow, looks like a good movie. I've always liked Natalie Portman. And YES...you trip to Russia sounds AWESOME! Something to look forward to in 2011!

Well, I did walk at the mall, just a short walk...2 times around. But hey, that's better than nothing. Was so tired but that's not why just 3 times...had other stuff going on that needed to be done so...I weighed and says I am up 2 pounds, ugh! I don't think I am though...too many late nights with too much diet coke and eating late. Need to seriously make some goals for the New Year and stick with them. One of those being 'NO eating or drinking after 8 p.m! And sit at the table to eat' I think I will do that...certain it will help if I don't eat in front of the tv.

Anywho...take care all :grouphug:

suetalks 12-13-2010 09:38 PM

Count me as one who is not weighing until after the holidays. I have lost and gained the same 5 pounds for weeks. I have to just put it on the shelf for now.

Waiting to hear from Drs. about mom's surgery. Nothing yet, but hopefully soon. I talked to the surgeon's assistant today and she was on top of everything that needs to be done. So, we wait. :)

Wrapped some gifts tonight and figured out I am way short...lol. Gotta get out and SHOP. Did get a notice that the things I ordered from Amazon were shipped...woo hoo...at least they won't be late as one item said it might be.
Got laundry and bathroom cleaning done today. Nothing else going on...

Sassy_Chick 12-13-2010 09:42 PM

Hey Ladies.

Well I didn't get done as much as I wanted today, but I did lots of job hunts and applied for me and DH. Seems his boss has him on her hit list for some reason. I told him to go to HR.

Anywho. DH put together some little shelves for the office so I can unpack in here. It feels like I'm in box world in here. HA HA. So maybe I can get that done tomorrow......

Francie -- Well That is what we had originally in our old bathroom and I was kinda gonna use that for the 2nd bath and wanted a new theme for our bathroom. It is really cool though. It has sea shells and star fish and what not as the hooks for the curtain and all. I got the whole thing and it was on clearance when I bought it! I dunno if I can't find a decent Aquatic Theme, I may just use that one for ours and buy a generic one for the 2nd.

Cristina -- I just figure with all the baking I'm doing and all the goodies around, I may as well just wait til the New Year. Well at least I'm getting exercise having stairs now. Esp when I do laundry, its in the basement so that has me doing two sets of stairs + carrying laundry! Good Job with the walk, short or long, its better than not doing it. ;) I haven't WI since we have moved. Kinda afraid too!!!!!! LOL. Ya DH and I need to stop eating in front of the tv too. When we first moved in, we ate at the Kitchen table because the tv in the living room wasn't yet hooked up yet. I ate A LOT less at the table than in front of the tv!!!!!!

Well I hope you all are doing well and keeping warm (if its cold where your at and if its not, well then :p!! LMAO!)

Big

OH I am not gonna be able to do regular Christmas Cards this year. Just too much going on and I know they won't reach you all in time. So I will send out some ecards. I think I have all your emails but if you think I don't, pls PM me or email me yours or you can send me a message on FB. Wow so many ways to keep in touch now a days!! LOL

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY in case I don't get to reach you!!

Sue -- You snuck in on me! lol DH and I are WAY behind in the shopping dept. Haven't even started! Well I guess that isn't completely true as I picked up a couple gifts way way back for my Mother and My MIL. I hope all went well for your Mom's surgery. My MIL comes home next week!!

suetalks 12-14-2010 03:52 PM

Actually still waiting to hear about a surgery date. Meanwhile mom is in pain. I sure hope she gets relief soon. Thank goodness she is able to sleep and can sit in her recliner as long as she doesn't try to recline it. It is a small chair and fits her well. She can not sit in DH'S big chair at all.

I made DH a batch of fudge...not the kind I like, so I am not tempted. I did take a spoonful of the marshmallow creme and put it in a cup of cocoa tho. Yum...

Trying to make out a menu/shopping list for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is here and we will have appetizer's, snacks and sandwiches. (plus goodies, of course) We go to my SIL's for the Day and I will take a couple dishes. All this based on mom being better....or not in the hospital.

Hope you all have a great week.

FrouFrou 12-14-2010 06:34 PM

#1 goal for 2011...no eating after 8 p.m.
#2 goal for 2011...SIT at the table!
#3 goal for 2011...drink water regularly

Okay, so that's a start, lol...making a list of goals for 2011 obviously. Hoping to quick farting around and get down to business with this weight loss. I do understand this is not going to happen overnight and that it is a lifelong thing not just something temporary. It's HARD! Figure if I have a plan it just might work. :)

SUE...I am really sorry that your mom has had to be in pain for as long as she has, that's just terrible. I do hope they can schedule her surgery very soon. Sandwiches on Christmas Eve sounds good...light easy dinner. I am opting for pizza and who knows what else, plus desserts. Our Christmas Dinner is going to be this Friday. We aren't doing gifts (will do that on Christmas eve), just dinner and someones birthday.

SASSY...I hear ya! I'm glad I don't have cookies around right now because I am pretty sure I would eat way too many! But...for some reason I have turned to chocolate. Never really was a chocolate person but I am thinking it is stress eating...Mars candy bars and chocolate covered cherries, oh man! Oh and then peppermint taffy...good grief, no wonder I am not losing, lol. The holidays are BAD!

FRANCIE...you teased me with Black Swan and now I am mad/sad. I saw the trailer and really want to see it but guess freaking what?! There is no where in this stupid city showing it, no where! We had one place here that showed Independent films and they closed down a few years ago. If we, I say we because I didn't know daughter had seen the preview and wanted to see it. I asked her if she heard of it-of course she did. Anyway...it might be showing in Kansas City, a 3 hour drive but I am not sure I want to drive that far, bummer too cause I wanted to see it. I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. Oh, almost forgot, THANK YOU for the card, I love the old fashioned ones!

HELLO to KATHY, SUSAN, JULES, MINDEE, KATY and who the heck am I missing? I always feel like I am missing someone. Hoping all is well with you all in your little corner of the world!

Well, I got in a walk today. Was feeling so crappy and a little sick for some reason and thought I will at least do 3 times around. Did 5 so that was good. One of the ladies that walks at the mall told me this morning that they were going to start opening the mall at 6 starting Monday so people can walk before it opens (for business that is). Guess it gets crazy close to Christmas, lol. This was after she said something to Lily about being sleepy and I said me too! It's too early! Anyway...taking Lily to see Santa tomorrow at the mall...we'll see how that goes. She doesn't care much for strangers so...someone may be sitting with her, lol. I had to do that one year with the kids...they told me sit on his (Santas)knee with daughter...poor guy, lmao. She is sick, poor baby so we will see how that goes. Okay, getting chatty...better quit before I end up with a novel!

Take care all, hugs!

jules1216 12-14-2010 07:19 PM

busy posters you have been!! popping in to say hi!! Hubby's calling...wants his time on the computer...

suetalks 12-14-2010 10:15 PM

Scary time today. Granddaughter went to the ER in terrible pain. Thank goodness she was not losing the baby, but she did lose her appendix..... Emergency appendectomy and she and baby are both doing well. They kept her overnight so she can be checked again in the a.m.
Whew...was at the hospital and realized I hadn't eaten since breakfast...came home and DH had made baked potatoes so I warmed one up and had a good dinner (at 9:15 p.m.) Anyway...thank goodness..Life is good!

Sassy_Chick 12-15-2010 10:45 AM

Hey Ladies. Wow I slept in til almost 10 am today! :faint: Aw well. lol.

I didn't get as much done as I wanted yesterday. :p Just not feeling it. But I know it needs to get done. Just I don't wanna! HA HA.

Sue -- so sorry your Mom is in pain! I do hope they can schedule her surgery soon! I love fudge, but I have to be in the mood for it. Infact DH and I bought some last year and still have it in our big freezer. So glad that your Granddaughter is ok and glad she didn't lose the baby!

Cristina -- I'm not much into Chocolate either. I have to be in the mood for it and as unusual as it might seem, I haven't eat many cookies. I ate 1 sugar cookie and 1 chocolate chip and that was it and I would say that isn't too bad considering how many I have made! lol. But I did indulge in DH's Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Icing that I made for him for his Bday -- from scratch and it was DIVINE!

Jules -- Hi Jules! Bye Jules!

I hope everybody is well. I have had absolutely zero energy! I need to get my rear in gear! But just have no desire to do anything! I am thinking today I will finish up MIL's cookies for the Nursing Home Staff because she is supposed to leave there next week. Maybe that will get me motivated. I told DH last night that I wish we could just cancel Christmas this year. Just don't feel in the Spirit this year and just wanna just move on. Oh Man I hope I don't get visited by any Ghosts now! HA HA!

I think I just need a job to get me out of this God forsaken House. lol. I feel like I have been here since we moved in! Maybe beginning the 1st of the year I need to make myself get out and walk, even if its just a really short quick walk if its cold and blistery out! lol.

Well I guess I have blabbed on enough. :blah: lol

Take Care All!

P.S. -- I had to add the Grinch to my Signature!! HEE HEE HEE!

luckycharm 12-15-2010 12:25 PM

Hello everyone.

Cristina good idea. Goal #1 Eat Breakfast Everyday
Goal #2 Drink Water Everyday
Goal #3 Do some form of exerise Everyday.

You must be very busy getting everything ready for your Christmas dinner on Friday. That is quite a list of things you need to get done. I was exhausted just reading it. Also, I love your family Christmas Picture. It is beautiful. The kids look so adorable. You can send me one to hang on my fridge then I can see it everyday! Hope Lily is good with Santa, and you get a great picture of her.

Sue I am sorry that your mom is in so much pain, and no surgery date yet. Your Christmas plans sound great. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out the way you want it to. Is that sweet growing Mason going to be around to bring smiles to everyone? Glad that everything went well for your Grandaughter.

Sassy, hope you had a good sleep in. I know that I need to get a good kick in the butt to get going and get everything I need to get done started. What kind of cookies are you making the nursing home staff? One of our residents families made us a little goodie package with a recipe for snowman soup. (hot chocolate) plus a decoration for our Christmas tree that used to hang on our residents tree when she lived at home. Hope you get some energy today.

Jules, had a chuckle that you got kicked off because of hubby, I get kicked off all the time because of DGD, and her "I really need to play Elmo" sesame street.org is on this computer all the time, but at least it is educational and she has learned alot. :) Have you gotten the snow you were wanting yet? I am sending ours your way. We have alot, and it is too darn cold also.

Francie, I haven't heard of that movie, and it is not playing here. I will have to check the net to see if it is playing in the big city an hour away from here. You must be busy on the computer checking out all the great places you will want to visit on your trip. How long will you be gone for?

Hello to everyone else.

Well it has been very hectic here, and I am so far behind...but what doesn't get done will have to wait. Roxy asked Santa for a baby sister for Christmas. DD sent her to a friends for a few days to play with her girls instead. :D DS#1 girlfriend was in a major car accident at the end of November. She is finally out of the hospital and getting better and DS#2 thinks that he should spend his Christmas Vacation taking care of her. She says that will be great and he can come and spend two weeks with her. I haven't decided how many days I will let him go over for. I will have to send him a lunch and snacks because she can't do too much yet. Anyway, must get going on stuff. I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

FrouFrou 12-15-2010 07:01 PM

Hello Everyone

I feel soooo sleepy and tired...Lily drains my energy! She's teething and man is she a bear! She's been horrible the last two days and I wanna scream, then she looks and me and smiles that pretty smile. Hopefully those teeth or that tooth comes in soon!

No walk today...had planned to walk later when I took her to see Santa but that didn't work out. By the time Santa and his helper came strolling to the thing I was ready to leave! The sign says 10 a.m. and they went thru the mall at 10 a.m. and then the girl had to set things up so about 30-40 minutes later and 3 grumpy gusses we finally got the picture. Daughter had to go up with her I didn't have make-up on and looked horrible but she did not want on Santa's lap. I figured that was going to happen though, expected it. But got a decent picture with Santa, Lily and daughter! Then picked up a couple of things, last, well almost the last of Christmas. Just have 2 things to get and then 3 gift cards and I am done! Thank goodness!

KATHY...so sorry to hear about sons GF, hoping for a speedy recovery for her! And I will definitely get a picture to you, you are a sweetie! I'm not busy yet with the cooking for Friday, tomorrow will be the busy day. Just glad I won't be watching Lily, she has an early DRs appt so no point in her coming all the way over here for a hour and then going back, or at least I think that was the plan. Now Friday she will be here and that's going to be bad...hopefully I can get her down for a long, late nap! She'll just stay here until the son & family come over for dinner. Not looking forward to that! Oh, thank you for naming that site. Once in a while I try to get on the computer and let Lily play in the room but she always wants to be held and play on the computer so now I have someone she can play on.

SASSY...oh I am so jealous woman...I wish I could sleep until 10, shoot, 8 would be good! Funny, over the weekend I stayed up late so I could sleep in...didn't happen. I wish I could skip Christmas too! Hoping your MIL gets to be home for Christmas!

JULES...ALOHA

SUE...glad all is fine with your GD, that is some scary stuff. Glad it wasn't the baby!

Next three days are going to be busy for me but I am going to try and get here to post. That is one of my goals for 2011...post/visit 3fc every day no matter what. I know it and you ladies have helped me in the past with the weight loss. Anyway, tomorrow shopping, some baking, some preparing and I think I will cook the ham and then just warm it up Friday...will save some time and I am going to need the oven for other stuff. Then of course Friday I have to pick up the cake and balloons and then home to cook! And Saturday me and daughter are taking Lily and Cambrie to see Barney, yeah! I think yeah, lol. I get to rest on sunday, hopefully.

Hugs!

P.S. I weighed today and I am at 191 which I am glad. Wish it was less but I am happy it's not more or the 193 it was at Mondays WI. I am going to take a cue from Ms Susan and weigh every day, for a while anyway, just to keep on top of it.

Everyone has been so busy around here. Hope you all get some rest soon.

I finished up my shopping today and did some for mom also. Then off to the grocery store. I came home and fixed salmon patties for dinner. Have done nothing else productive except clean up from dinner. Don't know why shopping wears me out so.
Tomorrow mom goes for her EMG and we plan to stop at the dollar store for some gift card holders and gift bags. Think I can wrap this week-end and have it all done. DH keeps saying he is going shopping, but so far hasn't. He always manages to surprise me and do good on gifts, but never gets in a hurry. :)

Granddaughter is doing okay. Was a scary time...she had been spotting last week and was put on hormones, so we didn't know what was happening. Thank goodness it was the appendix...even though that is bad enough.

Yes, Kathy, we have plans to see sweet Mason for Christmas. He is growing so quickly.

Peek-A-Boo!

I have been meaning to get back over here and was actually going to do it the past couple of days, but then the kids had snow days and I was left with little internet time!

Let's see.....what has been going on with us????

Tommy's mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the end of October. She had her operation at the beginning of November, went in for her check up and her doctor told her that she is 100% cancer free, and that they were able to get it all out. She goes tomorrow to get her port put in, and then she will start her chemo/radiation either next week or the following week.

Tommy has been busy with working a lot of hours....if he wasn't working a lot of hours, he was at his parents house helping them out. So, things were stretched tight......i.e. I was stretched tight with trying to keep the house running smoothly without Tommy's help.

Brandon has been having some behavior issues....and his teacher thinks that he might have ADD or ADHD. We have discussed it with their pediatrician and she gave us some doctor's to follow up with......but I lost their cards, so I wasn't able to make an appointment yet. Plus, we wanted to see how he did in school first before we went to that doctor.

Logan is our little mystery child! We took him to the ER tonight because he seemed to have gotten bit by something. Took him into the ER, and he is having an allergic reaction to something, what we don't know, but they gave him a steroid (that won't be ready until tomorrow) and we have to follow up with his pediatrician tomorrow. So, I am going to see if I can get them all seen tomorrow when I schedule his appointment.

Marissa, is well, your typical girl! She has a new nickname.......the beast.......and she can go from beast to b**** in about 1.3 seconds if she feels the need to happen. She is a good girl though.....she likes to be my helper and even though she can push my buttons, she knows how to smooth things over very quickly when she can sense that I am mad at her.

we are gearing up for Christmas around here......I have my 10 year high school reunion on the 23rd. I can't believe it has been 10 years already, and I am actually very excited about going!!!

I was working out regularly/religiously for a while.....and then we got a new tv and since we don't have the right connectors to plug the Wii into the new tv I have been having to wait.......which I don't mind on one hand, but the other hand I have been getting very antsy and I want to get back on the horse!

Sassy_Chick 12-16-2010 09:58 AM

Snowed in here in Ohio!!

Morning All. :coffee:

Well we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! :snow4: DH's co. put him on a delay, so he tried going in and we have my MIL's mini-van right now because our car is in getting serviced (just normal stuff) and her tires are AWFUL well he got up the road and slid off in the ditch. So he turned around and came back home.

He's fine, the van is fine, TG. So he has a day at home with me. YAY. lol. Maybe we'll get some stuff accomplished! I did take in the cookies for the Nursing Home Staff lastnight. I made my Mom's and I Sugar Cookie Recipe and also made some Break N' Bake cookies (where you just break them off and bake them) so I figured I might as well finish those off as well.

Well MIL reported that the cookies I brought in earlier to her, she shared with everybody and they raved about them. So I hope they rave about these too. My Mom's and I Sugar Cookies are the BOMB if I do say so myself. Not sure about the Break N' Bakes, but DH reassured me that they tasted just fine.

Anywho. I texted my mom lastnight to see if she was working (she works 2nd shift) and then she called me after she was off and said that she was staying at her work. She works in a Fancy Assisted Living Place so they give them rooms if they wanna stay. So I'm glad she did because the roads are AWFUL today! Plus it drifts very badly out in Indiana.

Well I hope your all well and safe! I'll come back later and do Indies. I am gonna try to get off my behind today and get some things done so I'll report in to you ya all later! :drill:

BIG

Update: My DH called my MIL to see if she went to her Drs appt today, she didn't yet, it was delayed to this afternoon. But something is going on with her bad foot so she has to be seen today by her dr. I'm hoping her Dr will come by and see her so that they don't have to go out in this. But she said that EVERYBODY at the nursing home RAVED and RAVED about the cookies! :D Said that they don't know how I do it, but they are EXCELLENT! :D She also said that she and everybody there think its wonderful that I made them for her to share with everybody. Well I know she's been down about being in the Nursing Home during the Holidays, so I wanted to do something to cheer her up and make her feel better and so that is what I did. Because one thing I can do is bake cookies. My Aunt and I ALWAYS baked cookies since I was a little girl, so I inherited her skill in mastering them. And I only ate like 3 cookies total in ALL the cookies I made and I made A LOT of cookies! So I'm so proud of myself!! I plan on making more for DH because he got the REJECTS because one batch I accidentally forgot to add Baking Powder so they were flatter than a pancake, but still good. But I feel bad that he got the rejects so I told him I'd make him a "good batch" lol. But anyways that is the latest here.

stopping back in really quickly......we are about to take Logan to his pediatrician to get him checked out again. he was excited about missing school today to go to his appointment.....he is only going to have gone two days to school this week......they had Monday and Tuesday off for snow days......he went yesterday and we had his Christmas party.....then he is off today.....and if he gets cleared to go, he will go tomorrow......and then tomorrow after school he will start his break. Brandon doesn't get out until next Wednesday for his break.

FrouFrou 12-16-2010 08:36 PM

UGH...I think I am losing my mind! :dizzy: Too much to do and too much going on, Christmas stuff/shopping etc...my head is swirling. Will be so glad when the holidays are over!

HIYA MINDEE...long time no hear! Glad to see you posting and hearing about what is going on with the family. Can't believe how fast the kids are growing!

SASSY...glad the cookies were a hit! I wish I could bake sugar cookies. Mine always turn out icky for some reason. But I can make a mean choc chip and peanut butter! Lol I just don't like them, love the sugar and peanut are okay but not a fan of choc chip for some reason.

SUE...cute picture of Mason. Another baby growing too fast!

Sitting here taking a break from everything and waiting for the hubby to get back from the store with some alum. pans that I forgot to get today. Going to cook the ham tonight and a pumpkin pie is in the oven as I type! Smelling good by the way. Tomorrow is going to be a long day, hope I can get a nap in with baby. Anyway, just wanted to drop by and at least say HI

tommysgirl18 12-16-2010 08:54 PM

after an eventful trip, lasting all of about 15 minutes or so, to the pediatrician's office.....we were sent on our way with "yes it is an allergic reaction....give him some benedryl and the prelone like the doctor in the ER gave him....if he gets worse, of course bring him back in to see us."

we left there, came back home to wait for Brandon, then went to walmart to get Logan's medicine. after spending more time in line waiting for the prescription because they charged me $10 for it....since it showed that he had no insurance. I made sure to show them the new card and they put it in the system yesterday......after fixing it, I then paid $5 for it, and bought some benedryl for him.

got home in time to see that Brandon has what appears to be a bite mark of some kind on his left hand! UGH!!!! I gave him some benedryl in case it is an allergic reaction to something to kind of combat it.

tomorrow is Logan's last day before break......Brandon goes until next Wednesday.

we got some things from Brandon's regular teacher and she sent home the check list that the social worker gave her to fill out......it seems that he is demonstrating the same ADD/ADHD symptoms at school that he is demonstrating at home. So, we will be making an appointment with their pediatrician to discus it.

Other than that, nothing really new.....just trying to keep up with the kiddos and everything......

suetalks 12-16-2010 10:22 PM

Off to the Dr. for mom's EMG today. They called and wanted us to come earlier than our appt. in case the snow continued and they had to close early. Got there and home without a hitch. The good news is that mom has no nerve damage in her legs.

Finally got the call...the go ahead for her surgery from the heart specialist. Then talked to the surgical assistant. We might be looking at a 30th surgery. Sooner if the Dr. can swing it. He knows how much pain she is in.

My Christmas tree looks like Santa has arrived. I wrapped mom's gifts and the rest of mine. Looking good. Just have a few little stocking things to do.

Glad to see you all here and hope all is well. :)

tommysgirl18 12-16-2010 11:08 PM

Sue~ I am glad to hear that your mom's EMG went well, and that there was no nerve damage! I hope that she is able to get her surgery done soon!

I need to wrap the kids presents.....and we have to find a hiding spot for them because if we put them under the kids will want to open them and then that won't leave anything for them to open on Christmas!

suetalks 12-17-2010 10:29 AM

Mindee..I used to wrap presents and keep them in the trunk of the car...LOL. I one year put them in trash bags in the garage..then worried that DH would put them out on trash day. LOL Four kids were hard to hide all the gifts for. I can imagine in an apt. that you don't have a lot of options.

Sassy_Chick 12-17-2010 01:35 PM

Afternoon all!

Afternoon All.

I got up early, and after stepping out of the shower, heard this crash from downstairs. So I dry off and get dressed and venture down to see that our lovely cat has knocked over my DH's Bamboo that WAS in a glass vase. Luckily she didn't get hurt. Cleaned that all up then she ventures up above the top cabinets where we THOUGHT our glasses beers mugs would be safe. HA. I get the little step stool that DH bought (good thing) lol and got her down and just put away all the mugs. GEESH.

One thing DH got me a small very very lightweight vacuum cleaner lastnight that we are keeping downstairs. It is so light! It works pretty well. I can even use it for the kitchen (it does multi surfaces) so I zipped that out in the kitchen after cleaning up the broken glass just to insure no little shards were on the floor.

Well I managed to get ALL the clothes hung up yesterday. YAY. I am gonna try to unpack a few boxes in here in the office. My MIL comes home today from the Nursing Home. DH went over lastnight to their house to get everything ready.

Mindee -- WB! So sorry to hear about Tommy's Mom. My Step Father had Pancreatic Cancer as well,.so glad that she is Cancer Free! Hope the Chemo/Radiation and all goes well! Hope all goes well with the kids!

Cristina -- DH usually doesn't like sugar cookies, but he likes the ones I make. My Fav cookies are Oatmeal Raisins. I should make some of those. We bought a Pumpkin Pie lastnight. I need to throw it in the Oven to have for tonight. Ham sounds good. Hope you got a nap in today! ;)

Sue -- glad there is no nerve damage in your mom's legs. I hope all goes well with your moms surgery and hope she is out of pain soon.

You all are talking about Christmas decorations and wrapping presents and we don't have neither here, except for the Wreath on the door and the cute little Holiday Penguin Flag that my DH bought me. lol. We have no idea what to get my FIL. MIL told us what she wants, but not sure if we can find it. Anyways, I hope all you and your family have a Very Merry Christmas! :)

jules1216 12-18-2010 11:46 AM

both boys are now on my lap watching you tube videos making it hard to type...will have to catch up Sunday evening when they go home. Thinking of trying WW again...we will see...

suetalks 12-18-2010 05:26 PM

Cold and dreary here again...A good day to get everything caught up for next week.
All the gifts are wrapped and stockings stuffed. I am checking over the menu/grocery list and it looks like we are set to go. I will make the "dreaded" peanut butter fudge tomorrow. I say dreaded because this is the one I like...so I have a hard time with it.
DH went shopping yesterday and I notice I have gifts and stocking stuff...yay! I am worse than a kid as far as wanting to peek or shake. I have resisted however.

Mom did get scheduled for surgery for the 30th in the a.m. It is scary, but looks like there is no other way. We just wish they had gotten her in for Monday...but she takes a blood thinner and has to be off of it for a week prior to surgery. So Mon. was out.

I am trying to get most things done so if mom has a bad day or needs me more than usual I won't fall behind. I did her laundry today and we got her room cleaned and I had already done the bathroom. Now will work on the rest of the house this week and cook on Thurs./Fri.

Wishing you all a good week and a Happy Holiday season!

FrouFrou 12-18-2010 09:25 PM

Hello everyone...

I thought I had posted here yesterday but forgot I was busy...losing my mind-seriously! Will be glad when the holidays are over...too much going on and I am not used to it. I like it quiet and calm.

I survived yesterdays cooking with baby, and last nights dinner and apparently I am just feeling it tonight...feel so sleepy and tired. We had a good time and also had a good time at Barneys Birthday Bash today! Lily and Cambrie both loved it! Too cute...wasn't bad at all I must say. The girls (me, Charlotte, Cambrie & Lily) went to see Barney and the guys (Hubby, Josh & Chase) went to the movie. Chase didn't want to go see Barney so instead I had the hubby take him somewhere. We were trying for a hockey game but it was yesterday and that was out and th enext one is the 26th or 27th and they are going to the Great Wolf Lodge (annual christmas trip) with Charlottes parents. They take the kids every year, sometimes two or three times a year. Charlotte and Josh don't always go but I guess Charlotte wants to and is dragging Josh. They just went this past April. Anyway...

SUE...glad you finally got a set date for the surgery.

MINDEE...I guess I am the odd one, I never hid presents. The first time Charlotte came over with the kids they were totally confused cause presents were under the tree. They put just a couple and then wait for everything else on Christmas Eve after the kids are asleep.

SASSY...thank you for the e-card...that was sweet and I love teddy bears and the old fashioned look.

HI JULES, bye Jules! They (the grandkids) do you keep you busy don't they?

That's about all I have. I was going to say I am resting and being lazy tomorrow but I have laundry to catch up on so...take care

Sassy_Chick 12-18-2010 09:36 PM

Hola Mi Amigas!

Well DH and I made a run to Walmart! HOLY MOLY!!!!!! :yikes: I felt like were doing football plays!!!!!!! Telling DH what to get and him running down and getting it and weaving in and out of people! lol. Then this one woman was just moseying along like she had all the time in the universe and talking on the stupid CELL PHONE! I was like lady either talk on the phone or shop but obviously, you cannot do both darlin! lol.

We did get my inlaws a couple things for xmas. Wasn't able to get the thing we was planning on for mil, but we can tell her we'll get it for her after xmas. I'm sure she'll understand.

We went over and visited them. MIL for being home, doesn't seem all that happy. Maybe it was just the timing when we went over and maybe just adjusting back to being home again. Now FIL has to take care of her instead of an entire staff at the nursing home, so I'm sure she prob is adjusting to that. lol.

DH and I got a very small turkey breast and some cranberry stuff to have a small xmas dinner here for us tomorrow. Not sure what the inlaws are doing for xmas. They asked us what we wanted and we honestly don't care, we figured that since mil has been away, she should decide. Honestly I don't think they wanna bother doing it at all and that is fine with us. I mean after everything she's been through and all, if they'd rather just have something simple, that is fine with us. We WAS gonna have it at our place, but since MIL has two broken feet basically, we figured it was better to come to them.

Anyways I'm rambling again. ha ha. I made DH another Chocolate Cake like I did for his Bday. He loved it so much, he wanted another one. Figured, well it is the holidays. I dunno but I found this recipe for this Choc. Cake in one of my mom's OLD cookbooks she let me have, and OMG Ya'all it is THE BEST I've ever tasted!!!! AND SO EASY! You use ONE Bowl to mix it all up in!! And you use Cocoa Powder so you don't have to melt any choc. or nothing! It is so good! Anyways. Man I suck at this WL thing! HA! But its the holidays so I make exceptions. lol. Beginning Jan 2nd (cuz the inlaws always have a New Years Day Dinner) DH and I both are beginning once again on the road to being HEALTHY.

Jules -- Awwww I bet it makes you happy to have them both up in your lap. Maybe DH and I should try WW. I mean they make it pretty easy for ya, esp when a lot of things in the markets already have your points on it. I dunno but we need something. I told DH, that either I do it alone or he does it with me, but I got to get back on the WL thing. He said he'd do it with me.

Sue -- Oooooooooo PB Fudge is MY favorite too!! I cannot make fudge though to save my life! I can make awesome cookies, cakes and even pies, but not fudge for some reason! lol. I'm glad your mom has her surgery scheduled. I hope it all goes well for her. I will be keeping her and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Well sorry I rambled off a bit.........lol. But ya know it is the season I guess! lol.

Big  and I hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas!!

Cristina -- well you just snuck right in there didn't ya? ha ha. OMG it was such a rat race at Walmart I just wanted to sit on the floor and have a hissy fit right there! HA HA! Imagine the site of that! HA HA. Glad the kids had fun. We have a Great Wolf Lodge here, and the CEO was on Undercover Boss and everything went pretty well! So I'm sure they will have fun! YW for the Ecard. I knew I wouldn't get to send out paper cards this year so that was the next best thing!

FrouFrou 12-19-2010 02:04 PM

It's Sunday! Like you don't know that, lol

One of my goals for 2011 is posting daily so I thought I would start before the New Year. This site has always helped me so...even if I have nothing to say except HI I will post and read! I will, I will :D

Anyway...Sassy, you and the hubby are brave. Son was complaining yesterday about all the dummies out shopping, lol. I said imagine that, people shopping on the weekend the week before Christmas! LMAO There was enough traffic just on the highway going to see Barney, I couldn't imagine going anywhere near a shopping center. Charlotte too was talking about Toys R Us & Walmart...I told her I do my shopping when the mall first opens...get in and get out. I can't stand the crowds! People get so rude! Well, whatever you guys do for Christmas, hope it's a good one!

SUSAN...where are ya? Thank you for the Christmas card and picture of Gaby. Guess I probably should post this on FB or hunt ya down!

Nothing planned for the day. I got 3 loads of laundry done last night so I can sort of relax today. Just need to fold it and put away. Then I am working on my reading...I can get this book finished today if I just sit down and get to it. Oh, I need to go to Barnes and Noble to get a book sent and that's about. The son is coming over with some work for me and daughter-finally! Going to show us what we need to do, how to do it and apparently after waiting almost 2 months on this work they finally got what it was they needed from Florida (where all the research comes from and goes back to) and we are supposed to do 60 students to turn in the 23rd...I laughed. But I don't see a problem with it. Daughter takes 30 and I get 30 and I think we can knock it out in no time...we'll see. Anyway...on with the day...what's left of it!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend whatever you are doing?

tommysgirl18 12-20-2010 12:55 AM

popping before I head off to beddy bye!

we had a nice weekend here......Saturday night, we got out with my sister and her husband.....went and cheered on our friend's band, donated some toys to the Toys for Tots, had a lot of fun! Sunday was a laundry/baking day.....I made some buckeyes while Tommy did the laundry.

now I need to get my butt in bed since Brandon has school tomorrow....but it is his Christmas party on Monday......so he is happy about that!

We could probably get away with putting the presents under the tree.....but I think we will wait until next year when we have a house before we cross that line! besides.....I still need to wrap MOST of them!

Sassy_Chick 12-20-2010 11:47 AM

Ever have one of those days where you ask yourself, "Why did I even get out of bed?" I'm having one of those days. Its been non-stop. First Cat Puked all over the Rug I just put down lastnight, then DH calls to tell me he failed his test again, the last and final time and so now he probably will be losing his job, then if that wasn't enough, the flipping Kitchen Sink starts backing up!!!!!!! I just wanna sit down on the floor and cry! Honestly I do.

And all this right before Christmas. I mean I know we've been through all this stuff before, but I am just so done with it. I just wanna run far far away and never come back.

Well sorry this is a downer post, but I had to get it out.

Hope your all's day is going better! Well better go and revise DH and my resume and start applying to even more jobs!

FrouFrou 12-20-2010 05:38 PM

Hello, it's MONDAY!

SASSY...I know the feeling very well. Sorry your hubby didn't pass his test though...he can't do it again, or maybe talk to someone? And yes, I have had days such as that...where you just want to go back to bed and start over. Just keep your head up and stay postive, everything works out in the end

MINDEE...I see your pictures of that band and was wondering if you guys knew them or really liked them! Glad you guys had a nice weekend and hope Brandon enjoyed his Christmas party!

HI to everyone else

I have been so lazy today! Went to get some books for the grandkids, well, I went with daughter to get them and help pick out something. We always get them books because I think it's important for kids to read! Anyway, grabbed some lunch and home we went...nothing exciting. Then me and baby slept most of the day, lol. I am glad for her naps but I really shouldn't be staying up so late.

WI was bad, well, sort of. I was up to 193.4 last Monday, but then weighed Tuesday & Wed and was at 191 and didn't worry about it and today I am at 193.8 sonot sure if I gained or not. I keep staying up late and drinking diet coke up until the time I go to bed...not good I know. Plus this stupid snacking on candy...will be glad when it's gone...no more after that! Of course I could throw it away, nah. Not much of it left...but then there are desserts for Christmas Eve. Thinking from now on when we do family dinners I will start making desserts that I DON'T like! Anyway, not waiting on the New Year to start going to get right on it after Christmas Eve. I am sending all leftovers home with the kids! Let them gain the weight!

suetalks 12-20-2010 08:40 PM

Monday, Monday....can't trust that day. I know how you feel Sassy. I just wanted to go back to bed...and still do. Soon now I can. :)

I got all the laundry done and beds changed. Then it was off to the grocery store. DH told me I better get everything I need for the whole week because we might be snowed in later this week. Ugh. So...that is what I did. I also did the last little bit of mom's shopping for her. Daughter was off in another direction doing mom's shopping for me and DH. I came home and got what I bought wrapped and under the tree.
Had veggie soup in the crock pot, so dinner was pretty simple.
Once again I did not WI. I have gained and lost the same 5 pounds all year......I have to break this cycle, but not sure how. As soon as I get through the next two weeks with the Holidays and mom's surgery I can figure this out. I have an extra incentive..a friend gave me some really cool/expensive jeans and they are just a tad snug. I HAVE to lose so I can wear them (2 pair) She also gave me several tops..which all but 2 fit and the 2 are just a bit snug on the tummy. Soooo, I have to lose since these things are very cool. Used, but barely worn at all.

Gotta take mom to the hospital for lab work tomorrow. Then I think I will get the housework/ironing done. Won't need to cook/bake the rest of our goodies until Thurs. so I can (maybe) be lazy Wed.

jules1216 12-20-2010 09:44 PM

Sue-with me it's the same 10, unfortunately right now they are back..
Cristina-candy and cookies are running rampant at the office and then I am dumb enough to buy stuff for home...geesh..then I wonder why I am not losing...
Mindee--sounds like you had fun!
Sassy--hugs...I have many of those days myself :(

just not into Christmas at all this year...buying a few more things and then I am done...came home tonight and our dog has a huge lump where they removed her tumor...

tommysgirl18 12-20-2010 11:31 PM

just trying to get caught up on some emails and doing some recipe hunting......still doing some house hunting.....in fact it has picked up some and there seems to be new options coming onto the market all the time.

Brandon had a lot of fun at his Christmas party today! They had a book exchange, so he took in a couple of books since we wouldn't be able to attend it. He had a good day at school, now that his regular teacher is back. She contacted the social worker and got a behavioral check list for ADD or ADHD, and so she sent it home with us to show it to their pediatrician. I am in contact with the social worker at Logan's school, to get the same check list for his teacher to fill out.

Sassy~ I hope things got better for you guys since you posted!

Cristina~ We actually really like their music, and we are friends with them....so it is a double bonus! Tommy got me one of their zip up hoodies to wear, and he told me that I can only wear it when we go out since I have my blue one that he has dubbed my housecoat. I need to light a fire under my butt again! now that we have the new cables for the Wii.....I have to start working out again with my Your Shape!

Sue~ we did a little bit of shopping on Saturday....and now I get to see how I can put things together to make some meals! Not to mention what to make the kids for their lunches and that while they are on break!

Jules~ It is good to hear from you!!!! Sorry to hear about your dog, I hope it isn't anything serious!
