  • Hey, all! Football tonight, gotta stay up late on a work night. Hoping that extra coffee will be satisfying and I won't be looking for extra dinner...

Mel, don't worry about your EXACT weight right now! Your body's been so mixed up, it might take a little time to get regulated again. You're still in Onederland! And I bought LEDs for the tree this year, too. I wanted the BIG ones, like when I was a kid, but I had to go with what I could find on sale. At least they're a little bigger than the old mini ones. Can't wait to get the tree and light it up!

Carri, can you even believe those dingbats, quitting Survivor?! I couldn't stand NaOnka and we didn't even know Kelly, really, but puh-lease! Blowing a shot like that - what idiots! Not that I think either of them would have won, but still... I'm surprised they're going to the jury. They should have been shipped off completely!

Liz, WOW! I can definitely see the difference between the 2nd and 3rd pics. Look at your neck and collarbones! You look great! Now I have to ask you something that might sound weird... do you feel like your arms are longer than they used to be? LOL, that's how I felt the last time I lost the weight. I liked it. Too bad I gained it back again. Sigh...

OK, off to the Christmas piles! Have a good night!
  • Friday again!
Big weekend -- my mom's birthday lunch tomorrow. Then on Sunday, our choir has our annual performance of Handel's Messiah. And then our friends, also in the choir, are coming to dinner. Planning on-plan yumminess for both food-related events. Wonder how many calories a couple of hours' worth of singing burns...

So. I weighed in still a pound up from ticker this morning. Which is about 2.5 down from last week. Now to make those pounds STAY lost and have more of their pesky buddies follow them where the bad pounds go.

Mel, yay for you, catching yourself before you exited Onederland. Maybe the TOMishness also is making you heavier. Bet you see your Christmas goal!

Carri, a half a Mountain Dew sounds like much better than that "quite a few glasses a day" I heard before. Plus it was medicinal. Good girl!

Liz, there's a huge difference in your pix -- just a little hard to tell because of the closeness to the camera and etc. You look FANTASTIC!!!

Auntie g, my DH had a huge health scare a few years ago when his brother died. Made so many changes in our diet since then, although it was always pretty healthy. But he's a changed guy -- much more relaxed, mostly I think, because he's been meditating. Which I always intend to start too.

K, I've got to get out to the gym and get back and see how early I can get out of the office today. Let's make it a good one!

  • Morning Girls....how is everyone...another cold morning here in Indiana...tomorrow we are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow here
I can handle it on the weekend, just not during the week when I need to drive to work ...I dont mind being stuck inside on a cold weekend

Liz - I can see a BIG difference in the last two...I see it in the hips and neck and face...you have done such a great job, you should be so proud ..

Auntie G - yeah I am with you, dont care for NaOnka, never did....no way should they be on the jury, but what can we do? haha

Arabella - I had to laugh at the mountain dew being "medicinal", haha...but so true...you and I are weighing about the same right now, I weighed in at 225 this morning Time to change the ticker ...

    Mel - Hi

So glad it is Friday....having a little budget problem this week and trying to shift some things around this morning ...that is always lovely ....well have a good day girls.

    Carri
  • Thank you all for the kind words! I got my garbage disposal fixed this morning and the guy is coming to look at the fan motor on my heater this afternoon....bye bye money

Carri- Having half a mt.dew isnt bad! I used to be addicted to it lol Now its either diet sierra mist or pepsi max (though I try to limit to 1 a day). I don't think we are suppose to get as much snow as you?

Liz- I see a huge difference in the last 2 pics!!! You look AMAZING!! I am so happy for you!!

Auntie- Yay for football (even though my team is sucking this year lol) We bought the big leds and reg sized leds for the outside of the house, I still have the reg ones in the house since they still work lol

Arabella- Yay for a big weekend! Have fun at your mom dinner! I wish I could see your show!

Here's to hoping that I make my Christmas goal!!! All this holiday food is not making it easy haha It's my first holiday season trying to loss weight.
  • Hey ladies!! Thanks for all the nice comments!

auntie g - Hope you enjoyed your football night!!

Arabella - YAY for the 2.5 pounds down! Soon you'll zoom past your ticker weight. Sounds like a busy weekend, have fun!

Carri - Yeah snow is much nicer on the weekend when there's no commute! And oh yes I am familiar with the budget shuffle, lol.

Mel - Yes all these repairs are so expensive, aren't they? We're having our fireplace redone starting next week, it's quite an expensive project but hopefully well worth it...

Hope everybody's having a great day, we got out for a nice long walk this morning and am hoping to go for another one this aft. I was supposed to go for a girl's night tonight but my friend got sick with the flu. Busy weekend with a couple of parties to go to, 'tis the Christmas season!
  • And a woo hoo for Friday! Going to our town's tree lighting ceremony tonight- wish we had a little snow, but at least it's cold and NOT raining. I've got so much to get done this weekend that I may not have time to think about food, so that could be good. At least I hope it's good!

Arabella, yay for the good WI! I won't catch you this week, but watch out next week! I hope your weekend plans go well, and I'd like to know what sort of "on-plan yumminess" you've got in store. I never know what to do with those situations when I want to keep it healthy but have to make it satisfying for other people.

Carri, can you send a bit of that snow over here? Hope your snowy weekend is fun!

Mel, who's your football team? It's all Philadelphia Eagles here! Last night's game was worth staying up late for! And about that holiday food, yeah, it's trouble! Sometimes the best we can hope for is to hold steady til the New Year, but I'm determined to stick it out for a couple more weeks at least! LOL

Liz, have fun at the parties!

Better go get bundled up. Have a good night, peeps!
  • Rainy Saturday
Up early here, but without alarm so that's okay. I've got my and a few minutes before I have to start and to get it in before our FINAL practice for the Messiah. I bought my mom an MP3 player so she could listen to audio books so I'd better get some loaded on it before I go, too.

Thanks for the congrats on WI -- was going to say, no need for congratulations, because you already congratulated me for those ones a few weeks ago. They better stay gone this time!

Auntie g, meant to say re: skinny arms -- when I see someone with slender arms and sleeveless, I often think their arms are so long they must be a different species. Hope the tree lighting was nice!

I'm making lemon-garlic chicken with brown rice and a Greek salad for dinner tomorrow night. I'm going to buy a package of baklava (there's a store around the corner that has great stuff) but intend not to eat any. Apps will be potato chips (not for me), caponata (an eggplant tomato relishy thing) and brown rice chips, raw veggies. Lunch today I'm apt to have a falafel with salad on the side. And just have my head on straight about not having cake and ice cream.

Liz, it is such a mad whirl, isn't it. And this year it seems like it's hit harder and sooner than ever. Trying to make sure I enjoy it, which I'll do best if I stay pretty much to plan.

Mel, I know a lot of people only try to maintain over Christmas. I've done all three -- lost, maintained and, of course the perennial favorite, gained. Intention this year is to lose.

Carri, yeah -- I feel like we have to try to keep ourselves feeling as well as possible to be able to do this thing. And if we need caffeine we'd best be getting it!

K, I'd better get to the stuff I need to get done. Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Official WI and I broke even - yippeeeee! After the 5 day feeding frenzy, I am delighted to not post a gain!

The tree lighting was very nice- took my 8YO nephew along, got to see Santa and the boys had free hotdogs- none for me, thanks! Very busy day today, hopefully fitting in getting our tree. My car's going in for inspection on Monday, so I'm feeling the pressure of getting all my running around done in the crowds. Ick!

Arabella, lemon garlic chicken sounds awesome! I'm not that much of a cook when it comes to meat, but that does seem tempting. Happy Birthday to your mama, and have a great performance tomorrow!

Time to get busy! Happy Saturday!
  • We got about 2 inches of snow here and we have already been out to play in it lol I weighed today and was 197.8...I'll take it!! -.6 is better than gaining!

Liz- We just got gas logs put into our house, we are just waiting for the propane tanks to get here so we can have a nice fire!

Auntie- Our team is the Dallas Cowboys, and like I said they suck this year lol Congrats on breaking even!

Arabella-I am going to try to lose the last couple pounds before Christmas but will try to not beat myself up if I dont lose a lot before then.

    Carri- Hi!!
  • Mel, OH NOOOOOOOOO, not the Cowboys!!! Aww, how did that happen? LOL! Are you originally from Texas? Well, no offense, but I hope they keep sucking through next week when we play them!
  • Nope I'm not from Texas lol I wasn't a football fan until I meet DH 7 years ago and he was a huge Cowboys fan. After watching so many games in the beginning of our relationship I became a huge fan....like yelling at the TV fan lol I understand why you want them to continue to suck....no hard feelings here
  • Afternoon Girls

Aww Mels team are the Cowboys huh? Well my team ( the Colts ) play the Cowboys today, so makes me feel better that you say they suck this year cause we need to win.

We ended up getting about 4 inches of snow, it was so nice and pretty when we woke up yesterday morning, I loved it.

Today we are just lazing around and watching Football of course....

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday all ...

    Carri
  • Aww, didn't realize the Colts/Cowboys matchup today. I'm not watching football since the Eagles played Thursday night, I'm trying to get some Christmas stuff done. Guess I might have to check in on that game, though!
  • Well I'm very glad to say that my Cowboys won in OT Hope they keep the winning going!

Didn't do much today and plan to get back to track tmw and start using my Lose It! app on my iTouch (Are you still using it Liz?). I haven't been officially counting calories for a few weeks and my body can tell. Time to get the ball rolling!

Hope you all have a great week!!
  • Morning Girls ...yes it was a very disappointing game for us Colts fans yesterday...with a ton of our first string players being out and some second string, it has been a really hard season for us, hope we can get to playoffs though, we will see ...

Mel - I still use my Lose It app ...I love that app ...very easy for me to use and I always have my phone with me so easy to update....

Hope you all have a great day !!

    Carri
