Red :cheer: :cheer: Always in your corner, even if you can't see me. Yu are 2/3 of the way done with the challenge, and that much closer to this being a part of your healthier lifestyle. KEEP IT UP.
SeaWave, glad you had a good time iwth your sister. I am going to do the best I can to hang in there for a week, then restart after my birthday. I had several binges. Feel yucky. Wish the yucky feeling would strt at the smell, instead of AFTER. All the stress, and made bad choices. And since I know I have several birthday things going on, it is kind of pointless to start a counting calories challenge until after the weekend. So, continue daily workouts, move as much as possible, and eat as sensibly as possible. I did have an awesome day today. Had my sis and nieces over. We got my dog to the park for the first time in forever, then carved jack o lanterns. It was fun, but neither my sis or I can figure out how you do that all the time. Man those kids have energy. Why can't I bottle that so I have it in the mornings :fr: Take care all  |
Arggh. I just wrote out a long reply and it has been lost somehow! Sorry, and hello to everyone, I'm out of time!
Day 1 complete :No Beer, 2 pauses left. |
still doing it...
Made it through another day without smoking and yesterday I really had no temptation. It's strange how some days it is there and other days it isn't there at all.
No smoking -- Day 15 completed ************** jolly -- Thanks for the support. I have to just keep at it, right? It's tough but that's why it's worth it, I guess. If I had smoked one pack a day at the new price, I would now be about 6,000 yen poorer, which at today's super weak dollar rate would be about $75! Not bad, eh? The health benefits are not the things I can focus on, especially when, at this early stage, things get worse as the body gets rid of junk and emotions run amok. But, money and the fact that I'd be giving it to some corrupt politician to use as he pleases, now THAT ruffles my fur! :lol3: I hope you feel better. Not trying to take it all on is great. So, you will eat too many calories, but staying focused on moving and sensible eating will take the edge off any binges! Eating REAL food is the best way to do that! It's really amazing. And the opposite is true too. When you eat junk, your body (or mind) seems to go into some junk food mode and you don't want good stuff. But, if you can force yourself to eat something truly wholesome it really, really helps!! Sea -- I hate coffee black as well. That could be a way to cut back. Force myself to drink it black. Either that or make really good stuff and just drink less. The latter appeals to me more. Good going on the walking! Apple -- Too bad about the long reply. I have learned to write such in a separate file and save it often! Heh, heh, beer challenge again, eh? Best of luck! :goodluck: :sunny: |
My two challenges:
1) Keep my sodium intake between 500-1500 mg/day - 9/21 days (-3) Actual: Today it was easy, for some reason... 2) 15 min of some form of exercise/activity every day - 16/21 Days (-3) Actual: No exercise yesterday, not even at the hospital! Spent some time reassuring another patient, so I didn't mind it so much. My maintenance reminders because, hey, it can't hurt! * Menu set/proper food available for tomorrow * Track my nutrition daily (via SparkPeople) Jolly - don't you wish we could bottle the kids' energy? Sounds like you had a wonderful time! So until your birthday, just keep to your basic principles (move as much as possible, eat healthily when you can) and don't forget us here - keep posting! We'll expect your new challenges to be posted when, around October 20th? Apple - What Red said, except I'm not religious about it. I couldn't tell you how many long posts I've lost and I still don't really learn my lesson! I think I get long-winded without expecting to, and a short post turns into a long one (like this one ;) Red - Saving money and keeping it out of politicians' hands -- that would motivate me too! |
just a tally....
No smoking -- Day 16 completed :df: |
Hello everyone!
I've just joined this forum, and decided that this would be my first challenge. I love the logic behind it! 21 days = habit. :) I hope you guys wont mind me jumping on the bandwagon. My challenge is simply to eat less than I normally would, not give in to greed or emotional eating. Here is what I'm telling myself: eating is only a momentary pleasure, the pleasure only lasts while you are eating, then forgotten. With being healthy and looking great, however, the pleasure is long-lasting. 1. No overeating - day 0/21 completed (3 pauses left) A BIG HUG  to all those who have started and kept going till now. You are my inspiration! |
Hi all. Red, keep it up :cheer: SeaWave, hope things are going ok on your end. I should be starting a challenge Sunday. Birthday is the 21st, but big party is on the 23rd. Welcome PositivelyLovely. Good luck with your first challenge. Apple, how's it coming :?:
Took some time off, but unfortunatley none of it is down time. Ah well. Have a good one everyone. |
jollygirl, it's morning where I live, and it's the 21st, so a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Hope you have a blast. :)
I've had a successful first day. 1. No overeating - day 1/21 completed (3 pauses left) Hope you all are doing well. |
Red – WOW Day 16 already! You’re doing great! :bravo:
positivelylovely – :welcome2: (I feel like I’m really catching up, you being on the other side of the world and all!) Jolly – as long as you don’t have your bday last from the 21st to the party on the 23rd! I used to fall into that trap with my husband (his bday on the 19th, mine on the 24th of the same month – we had a bday week!) This year, we were healthier about it :D My two challenges (for Wednesday): 1) Keep my sodium intake between 500-1500 mg/day - 10/21 days (-3) Actual: Easy peasy yesterday (why can’t it be that way all the time??) 2) 15 min of some form of exercise/activity every day - 17/21 Days (-3) Actual: Attended the “Fitness After Cancer” class, and found out I can do more than I thought I can! My maintenance reminders because, hey, it can't hurt! * Menu set/proper food available for tomorrow * Track my nutrition daily (via SparkPeople) |
Well, I've made it through 18 days without smoking. Yesterday I was very tempted again but I know that initially they would taste horrible and it would only be after I had gotten past that point that I would start to "enjoy" it again (because of the nicotine addiction) SO I wisely stayed away... ;)
No smoking -- Day 18 completed ************** positivelylovely --- Welcome to our humble thread! :welcome2: Just whereabouts do you live? Best of luck on your challenge. It sounds like a great one! :goodluck: jolly -- Happy Birthday!! :bday2you: I think I still made it though it has long been the 22nd here!! Quickly sending this off!! SeaWave -- You're doing great. Thanks for the cheers!! :sunny: |
Hey guys!
SeaWave, you've almost completed your exercise challenge!! Keep it up! redballoon, I live in the Middle East! :dizzy: how about you? Best of luck on your challenge too. We're both fighting temptation, and I really really hope I'll be able to stick with it as long as you did! Onto my challenge... 1. No overeating - day 2/21 completed (3 pauses left) For some reason I have been craving fruits the last few days. Mangoes, papayas, oranges...anything big and juicy! I have not been a big fan of fruits before. :cb: Looking forward to hearing from you all today. |
1. No overeating - day 3/21 completed (3 pauses left)
Updates anyone? :) |
My two challenges (for Thursday and Friday):
1) Keep my sodium intake between 500-1500 mg/day - 12/21 days (-3) Actual: I think I'm finally getting the hang of this one! 2) 15 min of some form of exercise/activity every day - 19/21 Days (-3) Actual: Mostly walking, as I'm avoiding friction on the radiation 'sunburn'. Hope to get out in the woods today. My maintenance reminders because, hey, it can't hurt! * Menu set/proper food available for tomorrow * Track my nutrition daily (via SparkPeople) Have a good week-end everyone! |
Hey all. Quick post. Trying to get cleaning done, then get over to set up party.
Red, I am very happy to hear you resisted. That is awesome. Way to go. SeaWave and PositivelyLovely - keep up the good work. Will start my challenges tomorrow. |
Quick post to keep me honest! For today:
1) Keep my sodium intake between 500-1500 mg/day - 0/21 days Actual: Epic fail! Had pizza for supper, which basically doublec my sodium allowance. Back to "0" 2) 15 min of some form of exercise/activity every day - 20/21 Days (-3) Actual: No woods today, but possibly tonight. Did do some walking, though. My maintenance reminders because, hey, it can't hurt! * Menu set/proper food available for tomorrow * Track my nutrition daily (via SparkPeople) Hope everyone else is on track. STAY STRONG! |
