OMG 16.2 inches of snow. I'd bury myself trying to walk in that stuff. Good for you in resting this week end. on those pounds lost. I'd be more than happy to get back to 188.

Michelle
No snow for us this time around. I tried to call my sister who lives in Dallas but she didn't answer the phone. She was excited that we had snow the first time. She may still be visiting her grandchildren in Kentucky. This snow stayed south of us.

Laura
5 pounds in two days from cutting out sugar, I'm impressed. Have a relaxing evening.

Hi to Annie and Happy

Had a relaxing day yesterday and evidently had to much sleep yesterday. I had a hard time getting to sleep and staying a sleep last night.
Since my income tax refund is in the bank and I'd worked two day's for L, I splurged this morning and purchased a 22 inch flat screen LCD tv. Can't wait to get it hook up, but I'm going to wait to do this tonight. The speakers on the old tv is going bad. I'm thinking about calling B to see if he wants it if not I'm going to sit it out on the side of the road.

Michelle - The plan was to take the train straight from the office out to where the game night is and meet bf at the station, so no salad for dinner/pre-dinner. But someone in the office just pointed out that this is the business day prior to a company holiday, so our office closes at 3 pm. I wasn't thinking this policy applied unless the bus. day immediately preceded the holiday (like the Wed. before Thanksgiving), but we'll see. But it's lunch time and I might have a salad w/ meat.

Ceejay - Not 5 pounds, 3 pounds total. Probably not all from cutting the sugar, but I'll take it! Enjoy your new tv! What a nice thing to buy w/ your OT/tax refund. What are you going to watch??

Morning all,

Wet and wild weather day here in Aus. Sydney is experiencing rain and storms and NSW and QLD are both flooding in places and drying up in others. Here in Vic it is overcast and cool. So many weather variations in one area.
The boys (DS1 and DS2) are enroute to Sydney as I write to go to the Top Gear Show. Their female parent tried out for Mother of the Year and shouted them (expensive) tickets to the show. Top Gear has come out here for a special trip and is doing about 5 shows in Sydney. So for their birthdays (1 in January and 1 in March- the boys not Top Gear) I flew them to Sydney and sent them to the show. DS2 goes back to Brisbane tonight, but I couldn't get DS1 back to Adelaide so he is coming here for the night and going on from here on Sunday. It will be good to see him.
Michelle I haven't seen the episode with the dogs. It would be hilarious. I can't imagine Jeremy Clarkson trying to put a dog in a wee pregnant rollerskate (nz slang for small car, usually directed at the Mini car). His lack of patience must have been something to see. I hope they gave him the heaviest and most laid back dog to test. I too love the show. I probably should have got a ticket for myself as well but too late now. I'm not sure whether they are filming this show for general viewing or not. They probably will do one of them.

Today I will go out to walk the Ringwood Lake - maybe even run it again. I haven't been exercising much because I have been so busy at work. Well that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I haven't put any weight on, but on the other hand haven't lost anything either. Not doing so well here.

So saying that, I am about to take my puffy feet out for a walk. I'll be back later when the shopping done, the exercise is done, the laundry is done, and some tidying and cleaning is done.

Shaddie...what is "Top Gear Show", if I missed an earlier explanation, I apologize. You can join the US on the wicked weird weather all over the place. Even Texas got snow, they are normally warm all year round with NO snow or much rain for that matter. THe radio said today that all 50 states had snow this year. I am not sure of that, however. The sun has shone for the past 3 days, it is supposed to be a cold, cloudy weekend here and only in the 20s. Same as Chelle...

and could this day get any longer? It feels like every minute is an hour for craps sake. I am just killing the last 15 minutes posting and such. I so want to get the H*LL out of here.

What's everyone doing for Valentine's Day? I am going to the movies and lunch with a girl friend. We are going to see "Valentine's Day". Lots of stars in it, don't know how good it will be. I will let you all know on Monday.

Enough chitter chatting. Later gators

Valentines Day - nothing but another day for this chick. I didn't get any thing valentine when I had a partner, so I don't miss it now.

Annie - Top Gear is a British motoring show. You have to understand the British sense of humour to enjoy it. Basically 3 men - one tall, one medium, one short and all of whom are former journalists and djs - take cars round tracks, expensive cars mostly and then make fun of each other. Sometimes they have challenges, like the one Michelle mentioned. Once they had a race to see whether a (very expensive) car could get from Milan to London before a plane (admittedly a small plane with one of the guys pilotting it) Of course everything went wrong for the plane and they ended up on the train and a bus. They lost. Then there was the time that the guys mothers tested out 3 small cars. They drove the sons nuts. And their decision as to what was the best car was done over a cup of tea and sandwiches. Then they got some game grannies out to do donuts and handbrake parking. That was fun.

Hope you get out of there fast. See ya

Hi chicks,

It was the most awful week from **** at work, I'm so glad it's over. Started to post a couple of times but never got to finish. Taking a me day today - leaving in a few minutes to get my hair done, will stop on the way home and get the hoofs trimmed too. Tired of it being cold here too although I will not complain compared to the snow alot of you are dealing with.

Mel - congrats on the pounds down, I know it's hard to get that scale to budge. it stays that direction. Rest up those eyes and don't over extend.

Shad - hope you had a good walk, have fun with the sons.

Annie - let us know how the movie was. No special plans here for us except swapping some cards and a hug or two.

Laura - did you have a good time at the game and find something healthy to eat?

Ceejay - yay on the spurge of a TV for you! Watch the Olympics in style!

Michelle - hopefully you are feeling better after your shot. Hope the weather clears so you can rest it up. I sure you have a busy weekend as usual ahead.

Gotta get going. Happy Valentine's Day - love is for friends too

Happy Saturday chicks!

So much to catch up on! I tried to get on the 'puter last night to let you know the shot went okay...but my low back and left hip/"cheek" were too sore to sit. The doc said they'd probably be sore for a day or two. They're still a bit sore today, and I have a meeting with my website client in a couple hours. And even though Zumba or any kind of exercise would feel better than sitting right about now, my doc has forbidden it for the weekend. He said I need to take it easy for the weekend, and I should be able to Zumba on Monday. Dang! Now I REALLY have to watch what I eat this weekend. I'm going to the grocery store after the meeting...and tomorrow, I'll probably do a bit of cooking, laundry and watching TV since DH has to work.

DH and I watched the Olympics Opening Ceremony last night, and we were very impressed. I loved how they incorporated all the regions and peoples of Canada, including all the "First Nations", the aboriginal Canadians. It was lovely. I wish when the USA hosted the games, we would recognize our Native Americans, and our regions as well. So sad about the Georgian luger. I hope the rest of the Games go off safely. We really enjoy watching most of the Winter Olympic sports, and will probably DVR a lot of it.

DH is hoping to finish up the taxes today, and we'll put our refund toward getting the house painted. I have no idea how much that will cost.

Ceejay - Congrats on the new TV! That's wonderful!! We have a small flat screen TV in our bedroom and we hope to get a larger flat screen TV for the living room this year.

Laura - Hope you got out of work early and enjoyed game night!!

Annie - Wow! You had a busy, busy day! So glad you got a letter from your DS!! Yes, this is my last slip up as I don't want to get the from you and Mel. This weekend without exercise is driving me crazy. As for snow across the Us, yes, all 50 states have snow this year (Hawaii has it on the peaks of the volcanos). It's in the 20s here, but bright and sunny. We don't have any plans for Valentine's Day since DH has to work.

Shad - So nice of you to get your sons tickets to Top Gear!! I like cars, but I'm not as much of a car nut as my DH, but we both enjoy the humor of the show! I'd say if you're not putting weight on...despite not having time to exercise, then you're doing quite well. Wish I could go walking/running near the lake with you.

Happy - Sorry your work week was so awful. Good for you for pampering yourself!! I was thinking about getting my hair trimmed today...but didn't get around to making the appt. Probably for the best anyway, as I'm not getting as much done as I'd like prior to the client meeting, which means there will be lots to do after (grocery shopping, website work if my back/arse can handle sitting, etc.).

Well, I'm off. I have to finish up a bit of research prior to the meeting.

Here's to a wonderful weekend for all of us!!

Lots of love and hugs,

Michelle
Take it easy this week end and do what the doctor says. I forgot about the start of the Olympics. I like the winter games. So sad about the guy who died in a luge test run.

Happy
A me day sounds good. I'm taking one on Wednesday.

After I've put together the 22 inch tv for the living room I decided that it was to small. I'm putting it in the bedroom. Went to blytheville to the super center and bought a 26 inch for the living room. I still have not rearranged the living room but working on it. Good thing they tv's were on sale.

Hello Ladies,

Sorry i've been MIA, just lots going on, for one the weather. I got about 10 inches of snow at my house on thursday. It was beautiful...Worked from home on Friday. I could of gone in late, but got the option to work from home so i did. Today went to HH with old/new High School friends. Our 30th Reunion is coming up, so some of girls started having get togethers to get back in touch before the Reunion. Had fun, but then saw my picture on FB tonight..... I have got to get on a diet... or healthy eating plan..

Mitchellez - Sorry you had to get a shot, but hopefully it will keep you going for a few months.

Annie - I'm so glad you heard from your son.

Ceejay - enjoy your new TV's.

Happy - sorry to hear you had a bad week. Luckily the week is over and hopefully next week will be better. I too am tired of the cold. The snow was beautiful but now the yard is all muddy...

Shad - enjoy your visit with your son.

Mel - I hope the blurrieness goes away.

Laura - 48 hours and no sugar. That is great. Are you following any specific plan?

Afternoon all.

Had a good visit with the DS1. We got lost a couple of times in Melbourne and ended up getting back to the apartment very late. We talked until midnight and then went to bed and got up and talked some more this morning before we had to go to the airport again. This time there was no hesitation about where we were to go and we got there with the least amount of fuss.
My elder son thinks his mothers driving skills have deteriorated, while his mother doesn't like his style of driving either, so we agree to differ and not to argue about it. Since neither of us tend to have accidents (she said banging on the bottom of the table) we must both have something going for us.

Now I need to go do some shopping before they close. I'll be back
