Let's see if I can do this right and post a picture of my little one:
This was him on Thanksgiving... he is already bigger (I have had to pack away that shirt - it is now too small!)
Hi Everyone: We had a lot of snow here yesterday--about 5 inches. It was sort of pretty. A lot of people stayed home from work. My work communte is 40 min on a good day and I still made it!
Due to the snow last night my TOPS group was cancelled. When school is closed they cancel it. I wanted to go because I wanted to get my official starting weight for the year...guess it will be next week.
I have been keeping up with my walking for exercise. I need to get back into my Beck program workbook..that is on the agenda today.
I will catch up on personals over the weekend. It's so good to see people posting...it helps build my motivation!
We got enough snow yesterday to have a snow day. I "enjoyed" it. I got all the Christmas stuff down. Got it all put away today, escept for outside stuff. I am still working on that.
178.2 today. Really!! Will I ever see a new number, something below 177??
Hi--Looks like a quiet weekend for most of us. I usually have issues with food (binging) on the weekend because I'm out of my routine but I did a lot of self-talk this week and used the Beck cards when I felt like I might get out of control...and I have drank a lot of water. I don't usually drink anything but water but over the weekend every time I was hungry and it wasn't time to eat I drank a glass of water--it helped and I noticed I wasn't as tired as I feel sometimes on the weekends.
I didn't get my workout in today. We had to make a trip to the mall yesterday afternoon to do some Christmas returns and exchanges and therefore I didn't get my laundry and house cleaning done so I had to finish it today. In fact I have 2 more loads to do!
This week is going to be a bit stressful. Those of us who have been on this email string for awhile know that my company was sold to another company in October and that has been stressful. This week a lot of decisions will be made as to who is staying and who is going. I hope and pray that I am staying--I'm sure we all do! I have been interviewing and there are two jobs I'm waiting to hear from and I have a new interview on Tuesday. These are scary times. I worked for a HUGE consumer product company and I never thought I would be facing this.
So, I will really have to work on not eating for comfort this week.
How is everyone else doing? Looking forward to seeing your posts.
Mindy: YES, you will see a new number below 177; I remember when you couldn't see a number below 185! I know it will happen..you work to hard for it not to.
Susie- Good luck with everything. My thoughts are with you. It will be alright!!!
I am eating 1500 calories everyday this week to see what happens. Then I'll drop back down to 1200. This was a suggestion from someone and sounded good. Hope it works.
I did BL Last Chance workout with friend tonight. That one kicks my butt.
My goal is also 1500/day, Mindy. On days when I weight train, I go a little higher because I also add a protein drink.
Good luck, Susie! Keep that journaling going to beat the stress.
I binged on Friday, then got back on plan. Workouts have been good; weight training and elliptical on Friday, with HIIT on the treadmill; Ride class and elliptical on Sat.; stationary bike, 5k run and 1/2 mi swim on Sunday; weight training, elliptical and stationary bike today.
I also went to the dentist today and had a crown replaced. I absolutely hate the dentist. When they were finished, they told me there's another one that needs to be done. Please just kill me now.
Well... I wasn't too great this weekend... but apparently not too bad, either, since the scale went down. I had some wine, I had some beer, I ate some cheesy garlic bread and some candy. But I only had a little of each.
Monday was lunch out with co-workers. Sort of a belated holiday party. I asked the trainer at the gym what to get. I got the turkey burger sans dressing and cheese. Just lettuce, tomatoe, some sort of cranberry goo. It was very tasty... but it was the GREASIEST turkey burger I ever ate and I spent the after noonfeeling ill. The "steamed veggies" on the side were swimming in butter. Oh well.
I was not that great yesterday. And I haven't worked out since Friday. BUT I am back on track and I am going to the gym at lunch today.
OK, I am done rambling now! How is everyone else doing?
Ward- That is what I'm trying. It hasn't done anything yet. I am gonna stick with it for the rest of the week. I also went to the doc today. She suggested working out an hour a day and watching carbs. Really???
Hi Ladies: I have missed you all! I told you that it was going to be a stressful week and I was right. On Tuesday 35 of my co-workers and friends were let go. There were another 90 field sales people let go.
I was not let go. I think it's a good thing and then a bad thing as well. The bad is because once we are let go we can try and go back to the company that sold us (believe me...this is what we all want to do...it's a HUGE company and pays very well!), but we have to be let go without cause before we can try and do that. I guess I'll see if any or my former co-workers have success with it.
I have kept my eating well and I've walked every day for 30 min but that is it. We were told that the layoffs are over for a while (we are guessing until the end of March) so my plan between now and then is to use that time to get back to working hard at my weight-loss. That is my plan, work hard when I can and when I can't just maintain. It's better than dumping it all.
I didn't watch BL yet...I will watch it over the weekend. Tonight is my 1st TOPS meeting for the year so I will then have my offical number and can start taking the pounds off based on that number.
You will see me around more and I look forward to you all posting. It really helps to keep me motived when I read your posts and I also post!
I have been MIA for a little bit. I see you are doing really well.
I have not binged..... but I am sooo hungry. I was last night and I am today also. I am writing my food down and being very careful to not binge, but I hope this passes soon!
Hitting my 1500 calories everyday. SOmetimes I am squuezing them in later at night, but I'm getting them. Working out everyday at school. It is a different mix of people everyday. Did 30 min. Cardio Max and then jogged for 15 min.
Tomorow is weigh-in. It would be nice to see 177, but I'm not holding my breath. Things just don't seem to be working.
Susie- At least you have a job. Sounds like craziness. Hang in there. Have fun at TOPS. Hey, walking is something. Good for you.
Hee hee hee... Had my girls over last night to gossip. I pulled out all the candy, chips, snacks, etc. that I got from Christmas and dumped it on the coffee table... they all had fun nibbling at the goodies. It got rid of most of that crap and I am so relieved. I just can't have little baggies of chips and junk in the house.
Hi! I am so looking forward to the weekend; it will be a long one for me as we get Monday off. I am going to go to Walmart on Monday and find some workout DVD's to do at home. I'm looking for 30 min routines...any suggestions?
The scales were ugly last night but as I said before it is a starting number and I will go down from there.
I have ignored my Beck system for a couple of days so I'll get caught up on that.
Exercise should kick up this coming week; I don't have a lot to interfere with it.
Mindy: How did the scales look? I think it's a good idea to workout with different people...it keeps you working harder at least it does for me. When I'm with a new instructor I don't know where to cruise or if someone different is standing beside me working hard I can't let them outdo me!
SCraver: What a good idea to get get of the extra tempting goodies!
Ladyrider: Great plan for keeping that binge at bay!
